Speaker 0 (00:00):
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier
and I'm the weatherman.
Thanks for checking in totheweathermanpodcom on your
Monday.
It's the 21st day of the monthof July 2025 and, as we
indicated yesterday,temperatures are averaging about
two degrees above normal, someplaces well above normal precip
wise, because of the heavy rainsthat we had across the
northeast on the 14th it didn'thappen everywhere we're also

(00:21):
seeing lots of rainfall todayacross the eastern section of
Kentucky, tennessee, westernnorth and south Carolina,
southern West Virginia andwestern state of Virginia, also
rainy conditions across thenorthwestern corner of Montana,
northern Idaho, eastern sectionsof Washington and Oregon, also
around four corners, and normalmonsoons are occurring there.

(00:43):
In the northeast big area, highpressure is building southward
from the Great Lakes.
That's going to give us somepretty good weather for New York
, philadelphia, wilmington andeven down at DC, at least right
up through Wednesday.
Then the frontal system returnsas a warm front and by the end
of the week we'll havetemperatures in many of the
major cities up to near 100degrees, with heat advisories

(01:05):
for later Friday, possibly evenSaturday and Sunday, although
some scattered showers andthunderstorms will start to take
over as the high break.
Maybe another area of highpressure building south from
central Canada for early nextweek.

(01:30):
But this week starts offexcellent.
Today is going to be just abeautiful day.
Highs ranging between 80 and 85.
Dew points are in the 60s.
Well, dew points means thatwith temperatures in the 60s and
temperatures in the 80s youusually have very comfortable
weather.
Your relative humidity duringthe time of high temperatures
about 35-40%, as opposed torelative humidities being around
55-60% when you have 90 degreesand dew points in the 70s,

(01:54):
especially up to 74-75 degrees, that's very uncomfortable.
Not going to have that today ortomorrow.
It'll start to creep up byWednesday and by the end of this
week dew points will be backinto the 70s and hazy, hot and
humid weather will return.
So look forward to some greatweather today and tomorrow.
Temperatures in the lower tomid-80s, mid to upper 80s on
Wednesday, thursday and Friday.

(02:15):
In the upper 80s, lower 90s onThursday to near 100 degrees in
many spots on Friday of thisweek.
If you're flying today lookslike great weather in the
northeast, of course, philadelphia, new York and
LaGuardia, jfk all looking good,as does Boston.
Good weather in Chicago, although very smoky conditions
across some sections aroundMinnesota because of Canadian

(02:36):
wildfires, along with cloudcover and a very stable
atmosphere.
Looks like some rain inMinneapolis, st Paul, moving in
during the afternoon and earlyevening hours.
Today, dry and hot in Houstonand Dallas-Fort Worth.
Rain showers across the fourcorners, arizona, new Mexico,
utah and western sections ofColorado.
Looks dry in San Diego and LosAngeles.

(02:59):
