Speaker 0 (00:00):
Hi, this is
meteorologist Steve Pelletier
and I am the weatherman.
Thanks for checking in totheweathermanpodcom on your
Tuesday.
It is the 22nd day of the monthof July, a month that's been
showing establishes a little bitabove normal across the
northeast, but we've had somebeautiful weather yesterday, on
Monday, also today, tuesday andWednesday not too bad, and it's
all courtesy of a big area highpressure currently centered
(00:22):
across Lake Ontario, northernNew York State, extending just
off to the coast of New England.
Now this high pressuresatellite is going to continue
to drift east-southeastward andprovide much of the northeast
with fairer conditions rightthrough Thursday.
But by the time we get toThursday high pressure will
reestablish a foothold acrossthe eastern seaboard and a
Bermuda high effect and thatwill set us into some much
(00:45):
warmer and increasingly morehumid conditions and
temperatures that will bedownright hot by later on Friday
.
Then on the weekend we do havea series of frontal systems that
will be arriving, should breakthe heat not so too much on
Saturday but on Sunday, mondayand Tuesday of next week back to
at least closer to normalconditions after a little heat
(01:05):
wave commencing Thursday, lasting at least through
Saturday of this weekend.
For the Northeast CorridorWeather again for today
temperatures of about 80 to 85,nighttime lows near 65 to 70,
back into the mid-80s tomorrow,in the lower 90s.
On Thursday 95 to 100.
And many communities across theNortheast expected for this
(01:26):
Friday.
If you're flying today, it lookslike some rainy weather across
Atlanta and some afternoonthunderstorms in Charlotte, so
some delays there.
Central and South Florida alsounder showers and thunderstorms
for the day, as an area of lowpressure is just off the coast
of Georgia and South Carolina, supplying lots of moisture for
the eastern Gulf Coast and itlooks like high pressure is
building across and throughHouston and Dallas.
(01:47):
Decent conditions in thoseplaces but, as mentioned also on
the hot side it's going to befair skies in Chicago and then
clouding up for the Green Bayarea.
The Oscars air show today rightup through Thursday and it
looks like fair conditions fortoday, but it looks like some
rainy weather moving in fortonight and for tomorrow.
But eventually the low pressurewill move to the east and we'll
(02:09):
probably get into some betterweather by later on this week.
Minneapolis, st Paul underovercast and rainy conditions
for this afternoon and on thewest coast dry in San Diego, los
Angeles and San Francisco.
Also continue dry in Portlandand Seattle, with rain
continuing across northern Idahoand western portions of Montana
during the afternoon and intotomorrow.
(02:31):
I'm your host, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman.
Hope you have a great day today.
Talk to you first thing onWednesday.
See you then.
