High Pressure Brings Calm: Northeast Forecast, Travel Watch, and a Coastal Wild Card

the Weatherman.
Thanks for checking into theWeathermanPond.com on your
Thursday.
It's the ninth day of the monthof October.
Almost a third of the waythrough the month already, and
the days are getting shorter, asmentioned.
And big area of high pressurestarted building into the
mid-Atlantic and northeast.
We caused temperatures to beback to near normal.
That means daytime highs in themid to upper 60s, nighttime lows

in the 40s.
That's going to be with usprobably right up through
Saturday.
Now, beyond that, area of lowpressure may form just off the
outer banks of North Carolinaand meander just off the shore.
And that could be quite stormyand cause some beast erosion and
even some rough seas along theeastern seaboard from about
Hatteras all the way up to CapeCod.

But something for Sunday andMonday of this weekend.
In the meantime, Thursday,Friday, and Saturday, just some
excellent weather courtesy ofthis big area, a high pressure
building down.
So with sunshine today, highzelrange from 65 to 70.
Fair and cool night, mid-40s inthe 30s north and west.
And it looks like another sunnyday for Friday, highzel range
close to 70 degrees, 65 to 70most places, but uh we'll have

temperatures only in the 60sacross the Poconos and the
Catskills.
Also looking at fair skies near70 on Saturday and that chance
of rain with that stormycondition possible around the
eastern seaboard on Sunday.
If you're traveling by airtoday, of course, keep in mind
because of staff shortages anduh problems at the local and
national FAA controllers.

They are uh looking at somedelays and even cancellations
because of staffing problems.
And that's we can really havesome problems.
It's not because of the weather,because it's going to be fair in
New York and uh also in theBoston area.
It's also fair at Philadelphia,Washington, and Baltimore, no
problems.
Down at Charlotte, Atlanta islooking dry.
Could be some thunderstormsoffshore from Must Palm all the

way down to Fort Myers.
And uh in the West Coast, itlooks like dry weather for uh at
least uh Los Angeles, but itlooks like the possibility of
some showers moving in to SanDiego and the possibility of
some rain in LA, courtesy of uhsome tropical weather that's
south of Baja California inMexico.
And it looks like San Francisco,Portland, and Seattle will have

Dry weather in Chicago andMinneapolis, St.
Paul.
