Speaker 0 (00:00):
Hi, this has been your biologist, steve Pelletier,
and I am the weatherman.
Thanks for checking in totheweathermanpodcom on your
Sunday, 17th day of the month ofAugust 2025.
And we've had some warm weatherthis past weekend across the
mid-Atlantic and northeast, butit looks like some scattered
showers and thunderstorms.
So it's the approaching frontalsystem that will give us some
cooler weather Sunday and Sundayevening all across the

(00:22):
northeast, from northern Maineand southern Canada, all across
New York State down into NewJersey, pennsylvania, maryland,
delaware and Virginia and WestVirginia as well.
That's associated with thatfront that will probably become
stationary to our south, andhigh pressure building down
across central northern GreatLakes will move almost due east.
That'll put us into anortheasterly flow and keep our

(00:44):
temperatures in check over thenext several days, so look for
partial sunshine at 90 to 95today, as temperatures will be
moderating over the next severaldays.
Today, though, is going to bethe hottest of the next six, and
we're looking at temperaturestonight down to about the middle
60s.
There could be some scatteredshowers and thunderstorms as
that front moves through.
Hot tomorrow, near 80, with amix of clouds and sun on Monday,

(01:06):
tuesday and Wednesday alsolooking partly to mostly sunny
Each day high 70s to the lower80s.
Also, taking a look at the endof the week, looks like Thursday
and Friday also looking fair, with high pressure across the
northeast with Hurricane Erinsafely offshore, probably going
to be passing east of fromVirginia Beach up to New Jersey
and New England sometimeWednesday and Thursday.

(01:28):
Maximum winds at that point 120miles per hour offshore.
A little bit more about Erin.
After a rapidly intensifyingearly Saturday, erin appears to
be in the middle stages of aneyewall replacement.
That's a situation wherehurricanes, when they actually
change, go from warmer watersand then start moving more north
and then northeast.
Sometimes the eyewall getsreplaced and that basically

(01:52):
causes it to break down a bit.
So your maximum winds of over150 miles per hour are right
around now and it probably willbe lowering down to about 120
miles per hour in surface windsby the time it reaches just east
of DC, east of New York City, sometime later.
Wednesday and Thursday of thisweek If you're traveling today,
it looks like we will have somescattered showers and

(02:13):
thunderstorms in the New Yorkarea with that frontal system
during the afternoon and eveninghours.
So there could be some delaysif you're leaving today, because
inbound may be a little bitdelayed because of those
thunderstorms later your Sundayafternoon or Sunday evening also
.
Similar situation Up in theBoston area and the islands
offshore Down in Atlanta lookingdry.
Dry also in Charlotte andChicago.

(02:33):
No major problems thereweather-wise.
Houston just a few lightshowers.
Dallas hot as normal and justgenerally dry conditions in the
Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Central and South Florida justtypical afternoon and early
evening thunderstorms.
Nothing much to consider there.
Four Corners still showing alittle bit of rain, but it looks
like most of it is now driftingeast into the western Texas
panhandle.

(02:54):
Dry weather.
From San Diego to Los Angelesand San Francisco Looks like the
rain has ended.
In Portland, seattle, they'llhave fair weather there, so no
major problems traveling theplace where they'll probably
have some weather there.
So no major problems traveling.
The place where they'llprobably have some weather today
is going to be up in theMinneapolis-St Paul area where
overcast and rainy andthunderstorm action is likely
throughout the daytime into thisevening.
I'm Ben Ebron, just StevePelletieri, and I am the
weatherman.

(03:14):
Hope you have a great Sunday.
Talk to you first thing onMonday with some cooler weather
arriving in the east.
Take care.
