Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri
and I am the weatherman.
Thanks for checking intotheweathermanpodcom On your
Tuesday, 19th day of the monthof August 2025, almost a third
of the way, almost two-thirds ofthe way through the month of
August, so quickly, my goodness.
Tropical storm and surgewarnings and watches are up
along the North Carolina andOuter Banks coast and

(00:20):
Mississippi Valley.
On the hot side, we're going toenjoy some very nice weather in
the northeast.
In the meantime, it looks like, because of Hurricane Erin along
the eastern seaboard, we'relooking at tropical storm
conditions along the coast, butit goes that hurricane is
further offshore and coastalflooding are a possibility.
North Carolina, outer Banks, beginning later today, later on
Wednesday, I should say, andtropical storm and storm surges

(00:43):
watches are in effect for thatperiod of time.
Major Hurricane Erin isexpected to bring
life-threatening surf and ripcurrents along the East Coast
beaches this week.
That's from the Carolinabeaches today, virginia Beach
and Delmarva tomorrow, andprobably around the Jersey Shore
, long Island and coastalMassachusetts, the islands and
Cape Cod.

(01:03):
That will be later on Thursdayand Friday.
In the meantime, the weathersituation across the northeast
corner, with high pressurebuilding across the region,
means mostly sunny skies orhighs.
Today will range up to about 76.
Tonight mostly cloudy down to61.
Tomorrow, looking partly sunnyor highs will range between 75
and 80.
Very nice conditions.
You know, august so far hasbeen a little bit below normal

(01:23):
temperature-wise and after justa recent spat of some warm
weather last weekend, we're intosome great weather for today
and it looks likenear-seasonable conditions for
the remainder of this month.
Of course it's only about 11days.
So we're looking at some niceweather for Wednesday 77 for
Ohio with a slight chance of ashower.
Thursday mostly sunny, 81.
Friday, sunshine, 83.
And this weekend a look wellfor the northeast mid-Atlantic.

(01:46):
To the northeast we're lookingat sunshine a high of about 85
on Saturday, possibly somethunderstorms, but a high only
in the lower 80s on Sunday ofthis weekend.
If you're traveling today, itlooks like the weather situation
is not too bad down in centraland south Florida.
Might be some straythunderstorms offshore, but no
major weather delays expectedfor there.
However, we do see MajorHurricane Erin located about a

(02:07):
good 800 miles due east of, say, west Palm Beach and that's off
into the Atlantic.
But it's starting to turntowards the north and then will
be parallel to the easternseaboard Big area high pressure
giving nice weather to thenortheast is blocking it from
moving over shore and a seriesof low pressure systems that are
just also off the coast ofNorth Carolina and Virginia
that's keeping that systemfurther offshore.

(02:29):
It looks like dry weather inAtlanta.
Also dry in Charlotte.
Might be generally fairconditions for much of the
northeast.
There will be some rain inBaltimore, dc and Philadelphia,
but only in the form of somescattered light showers.
Looks dry up in Boston, dry inChicago and Minneapolis, st Paul
looking also pretty good, maybesome light showers in Houston,
but Dallas, fort Worth, just hotand humid.

(02:51):
Looks like dry conditions forSan Diego, LA, san Francisco.
What else is new?
Looks like fair weather forPortland and Seattle as well.
As a little frontal systemmoves through there, no major
problems are expected.
