The weather across theNortheast has turned cloudy.
It's been kind of dry so farthis month of August, also a
little bit cooler than normal, had a beautiful day on Tuesday.
Now an area of low pressure inthe frontal system will be

(00:20):
arriving in the Jersey, easternPennsylvania, northern Maryland
and southern and central NewEngland over the next 24 hours
and we see the possibility ofbetween one quarter to as much
as three quarters of an inch inrain.
Generally.
There'll be some higher amounts, of course, in some
thunderstorms.
This, as the low pressuresystem slowly, gradually trudges
through Some of the cloud cover, may even linger into the early

(00:41):
going on Thursday.
Then a clearing trend forFriday into the weekend Also
watching hurricane Aaron, amajor hurricane expected to be
due east of Jacksonville, florida, by a good 800 miles,
probably during the middle tolater afternoon hours today.
It'll continue to track up alongthe eastern seaboard offshore

(01:02):
parallel to the coast by about600 to 800 miles, but it is
causing quite a bit of roughseas and surf along the Outer
Banks of North Carolina wherethere is a tropical storm and
hurricane warnings.
In effect, a lot of folks aregoing to be evacuating from
there because of the extensiverising seas as the storm goes on
through and again it's going tobe far offshore but it's

(01:24):
causing such rough surf and seascausing quite a bit of beach
erosion and flooding.
As it gets further to the north, probably by Thursday it'll be
east, northeast of New Englandby the time we get into Friday,
running that parallel coast, something that we looked at on
the European model about a weekago and true to form it tracking
, pretty much just like that.
So we'll be watching it duringthe daytime Thursday with more

(01:48):
reports on that.
In the meantime, high pressureis building down at the Great
Lakes Some nice weather forChicagoland and it does look
like some moist weather acrossmuch of central and east Texas
and central and southern Florida, although Atlanta does have the
possibility of somethunderstorms, most of the time
just cloudy.
Also Charlotte having thepossibility of some
thunderstorms, most of the timejust cloudy, also charlotte
having the possibility of somethunderstorms late today and
tonight, and most of the heavierrainfall will be over eastern

(02:09):
tennessee and kentucky, areathat has had quite a bit of
rainfall so far this month.
Chicago is looking dry and alittle bit cooler.
It looks like dry weather outon the west coast la, san diego,
san francisco, all basicallytried no weather moving into
there.
It's also dry in Portland andSeattle as well.
Minneapolis-st Paul forgot that.

(02:30):
High pressure right over thatregion Looks like dry weather in
most of the central and upperMidwest during the next 24 to 36
hours.
I'm Indy Rogers, steveFeliteria and I am the
weatherman.
Hope you have a great day today.
Talk to you first thing onThursday.
We'll track that Hurricane Erin, as it goes parallel to the
