Northeast's Dry Spell: Fair Weather Forecast Through Wednesday

Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletierian
and I'm the weatherman.
Thanks for checking in totheweathermanpodcom on your
Sunday.
It is the third day of themonth of August 2025.
What a beautiful day that wedid have in the northeast.
During the afternoon hours onSaturday we did see some high
cloud cover and also a littlebit of that haze and smoke
coming down from the Great Lakes.

However, the high pressure cellhas a center over Central Lake
Michigan, also over Pennsylvaniaand also just off the New
England coast, and that meansour weather is going to be fair
and dry in the northeast, fromRichmond all the way up to the
Boston area, most likely today,right through Monday, tuesday
and even Wednesday of this week.
It does look basically dry andeach day our temperatures will

range into the mid-80s.
Today could catch 90 during thedaytime, tomorrow 80s to near
90 both on Tuesday and Wednesday.
So a little change in thepattern for the next several
days, although temperatures nearnormal, slightly above normal
conditions, but dry over thenext three to five days across
the Northeast.
If you are traveling on thisSunday, it looks like some rainy

weather, with an area of lowpressure just over eastern
Louisiana, over Mississippi,alabama and Georgia.
It's going to be overcast andwet weather in the Atlanta area.
So if you are traveling intothere, expect some delays.
Let's do some light showeraction expected across the
Charlotte area of North Carolina.
Also way down central and southFlorida.
Typical afternoon thunderstorms.

Otherwise generally fairconditions there.
Also some showers andthunderstorms in Houston as the
frontal system stationary rightacross the area of Dallas-Fort
Worth.
Also lots of clouds and somethunderstorms.
Very warm weather.
Temperatures reach the 90s tothe lower 100s.
Up in Chicago, althoughgenerally fair conditions, very
hazy and smoky.
It's been that way the lastseveral days.
Very low air quality because ofthe smoke from the Canadian

wildfires Generally reachingfrom the altitudes all the way
down to the surface and causinglower visibility in those places
.
Same thing at Minneapolis-StPaul though there'll be some
cleansing rains possibly laterin the day, does look dry in San
Francisco and LA.
Looks like some showers inPortland and just generally fair
skies, but with an increase inclouds.

Expected for Seattle-Tacoma.
No major traveling problemsgoing into the West Coast.
