Speaker 0 (00:00):
Hi, this is
meteorologist Steve Pelletierian
.
I am the weatherman.
Thanks for checking intotheweathermanpodcom on your
Wednesday.
It is the third day already ofthe month of September and it
looks like the weather is goingto be pretty nice for the
northeast corridor over the nextseveral days.
What we do have is a big areaof high pressure and those are
fair weather systems that extendfrom the Great Lakes all the
(00:20):
way to the eastern seaboard, great Lakes all the way to the
eastern seaboard and even upinto eastern Canada.
The temperatures have beenquite nice, not too hot, not too
cool, generally in the 70s andlower 80s, all with generally
fair skies throughout and, as amatter of fact, it looks like
the dry weather will continueright in through Thursday as
well.
On Thursday night and Friday wehave a weather front currently
across Lake Superior, that's, inthe northwestern corner of the
(00:43):
Great Lakes, extending down fromMinnesota and into Wisconsin.
Well, that frontal system doeshave some showers and even some
isolated thunderstormsassociated with it, and it will
be arriving in the vicinity ofthe Northeast for Thursday night
and early Friday, the highpressure building in behind it,
amazingly, from the centralportion of the nation.
So that means temperatures willbe warmer at first, but a
second cold front arrives on aSaturday night that brings us a
(01:07):
sharply cooler flow oftemperatures only in the low to
middle 70s for Sunday, mondayand possibly even Tuesday of
next week.
For the northeast corridor, elsewhere across the nation it's
just hot weather.
Across the nation's midsection, rainy conditions across the
western Great Lakes, asmentioned, and also down into
the Dakotas, and still thatrainy weather over on the West
Coast.
Basically there's showerspossible in San Diego, la, also
(01:30):
around the San Francisco BayArea, but basically the
weather's okay there.
After some cool starts to theday, some rainy conditions in
Portland and dry in Seattle,tacoma.
However, it looks like a littlebit of foggy and hazy
conditions will be with themover the next several days and
along with those warmerconditions as well.
If you're traveling today, itdoes look like fair conditions
(01:51):
in Atlanta, south Florida, somescattered thunderstorms, but no
major problems.
Houston, dallas all lookinggood.
Chicago, new York area allgreat weather-wise, no problems.
If you are going to have anyproblems weather-wise, that'll
be across Minneapolis-St Paulbecause of that frontal system
that I mentioned, moving downout of central and western
Canada.
I'm your manager, stevePelletier, and I am the
weatherman.
(02:11):
Hope you have a great day today.
Talk to you first thing onThursday.
See you then.
