SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hi, this is Meteorology, Steve Pelletier,

(00:01):
and I'm the Weatherman.
Thanks for checking into theWeathermanpod.com on the
beginning of meteorologicalwinter, the first day of
December, 2025, your Monday.
And well after the Great Lakeshad anywhere between five and
fifteen inches of snowfall overthe weekend, another storm
working its way out of thewestern plain states will be
arriving in Chicago vicinitywith about another one to three

(00:24):
inches of snow for the latterportion of today, tonight, and
early tomorrow.
That storm will continue to moveeastward.
And as it does, it's going tobring a little bit of snow, then
over to rain for the Jerseyshore, the Jersey central
portion of the state, northwestern portion of New
Jersey, and northeasternPennsylvania, southeast New York
may experience several inches ofsnowfall as uh not going to get

(00:46):
the benefit of that ocean justoffshore.
You know, along the Jersey Shorefrom Sandy Hook all the way down
to Cape May, including the DelMarva Peninsula and down to
coastal Virginia.
You've got that big oldradiator, the ocean, where the
ocean temperatures at this pointstill in the upper 40s, still
near 50.
And uh with that in mind, anytype of breeze off the east or
southeast or northeast for thatmatter will pull things, well

(01:08):
actually warm thingsconsiderably up along the
eastern sea.
Water.
During the summertime, it's acooling breeze, it's a sea
breeze, but during thewintertime it warms things and
keeps uh a lot of these stormsthat end up starting off as some
snow, ending up going over torainy conditions and many times
over in northern New Jersey, just north of, say that, take
the uh southern portion of LongIsland, just draw a straight
line into New Jersey, and uhthat's usually where your rain

(01:32):
snow line many times will set upduring the wintertime until you
get into deep winter, and thatmeans later January and
February.
And at that point, the ocean isat its coolest.
That means whenever you havethat wind out of the east or
northeast, it just doesn'taffect it as greatly.
And uh you have a greaterprobability of some pretty good
snowstorms.
And it just seems like we'resetting up for lots of storms,

(01:52):
at least in the early or thefirst half of the month of
December.
Uh, first one, of course, beingon a second.
We do see something coming upfor this weekend and possibly uh
around the middle of next weekas well.
But uh we'll have more to say onthat as time continues.
In the meantime, for today forthe northeast corner, it looks
like uh a decent day to startfor the first day of December,
as temperatures will only rangeinto the upper 40s, low to

(02:14):
middle fifties, all withgenerally dry weather.
The clouds will be on theincrease, and overnight could be
some of that snow in New YorkCity or uh up in uh northern New
Jersey.
However, it looks like it goesover to rain.
So this could be a littlecoating to maybe less than an
inch in the city and aroundcentral Jersey from Middlesex
County down into uh easternPennsylvania, from uh just uh
Bucks, Montgomery, all the waydown into Philadelphia and

(02:36):
Chester counties, and generallya rain situation across
Maryland.
But it does look like it's goingto be ending sometime during the
afternoon, early evening hourson Tuesday.
Then we get into dry but coldweather for the Mid-Atlantic and
Northeast, coming our way forWednesday and Thursday of this
week as temperatures.
Daytime will range near 40,nighttime lows, not 20 east to
near 30.
So uh really a start of some uhvery active winter pattern uh as

(03:00):
we head into this first coupleof days of the month of December
around the area.
Now, if you're traveling today,it does look like Atlanta might
have a few rain showers, butnothing major.
Also, nothing major in centralSouth Florida looks like just
some isolated late-day showers, but no problems as far as delays
are concerned.
No delays into Charlotte.
Uh, Chicago will have that uhlow pressure heading its way,
and it's gonna bring in uh thepossibility of some snow, so

(03:22):
there could be some delays or atleast uh maybe some
cancellations in the Chicagoarea, northern Illinois,
northern Indiana, uh southernWisconsin, and southern
Michigan.
So keep an eye out for that.
Again, best to travel down toAtlanta if you're trying to get
make some connections to theWest Coast or two points further
to the west.
Uh we are looking at rainyconditions at Houston, some

(03:43):
heavy rain, so there could besome delays until there.
Probably your best bet isAtlanta as far as uh connections
is concerned.
And then uh Los Angeles, SanFrancisco, all looking dry, back
to rainy weather in Portland andup in Seattle.
But again, as I mentioned, itlooks like the Chicago area will
be having some snow during theafternoon and evening, and that
will cause some delays, if noteven some cancellations into

(04:04):
that area while the snowstorm ishappening.
It looks like a lightersnowstorm in the Chicago area
this time.
Also, just some snow to rain ormixed precipitation over to rain
for the New York andPhiladelphia area.
And up in Boston might be alittle bit more snowfall up
there, but uh for the most part,it very quickly moves on through
and we get into some fair butcold weather for midweek.

(04:24):
I'm here, but Steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman.
Hope you have a great day today.
Talk to you first thing onTuesday.
See you then.
