A special uh midday update onyour Saturday.
It is the 29th day of November, and we're talking about the
Midwest blizzard or the Midwestsnowstorm.
Uh, there are going to be uhtemperatures generally in the
20s and lower 30s, extendingfrom much of Iowa, southern

(00:20):
Minnesota, all across Wisconsin, and central in northern
Illinois, also central innorthern Indiana, and of course,
a good portion of Michigan.
And uh the maximum amount ofsnowfall that we're seeing,
probably somewhere between 10and 15 inches in eastern Iowa,
southern portions of Wisconsin, including Chicago, northern
Illinois, northern Illinois,Chicago area, probably somewhere

(00:42):
between 10 and 15 inches ofsnow.
And it looks like that extendseven into central and southern
Michigan, from uh right aroundthe uh east shores of southern
Lake Michigan to Kalamazoo, andthen also over to the Detroit
area.
Uh by midday on Sunday, Detroitwill probably have close to
eight inches of snowfall fromthis storm.
But for the most part, uh rightnow in the early portion of

(01:06):
Saturday and through the midday, the clouds are on the increase,
and the snow is already intocentral and western sections of
Iowa, and it's heading due east, and we'll be arriving in the
Chicago area.
Winter storm warnings in effectfor all those areas that I
mentioned uh for a good portionof today, tonight, into
tomorrow, and they'll be diggingout of this storm as we head
into the first day of Decemberon Monday.

(01:28):
With a start of meteorologicalwinter in the northern
hemisphere, uh the conditionswill show that that storm is
moving towards theeast-northeast and probably will
miss the eastern seaboard.
However, it will be causingquite a bit of snowfall uh
across northern states duringthe daytime on Sunday into early
Monday.
So, just more importantly, intothe Chicago area if you're

(01:49):
trying to travel into thatregion.
The reason is, of course, thebig snowstorm, and it will not
be really cleaned up untilsometime on Monday.
If you're trying to get to theWest Coast, best go to the south
of the Atlantic, take someflights from Atlanta to Houston
to the West Coast if necessary.
And you should have a betterpossibility of completing your
trip that way.
So, recapping for the GreatLakes, the Southern Great Lakes,
winter storm warnings are ineffect.

(02:10):
The snow is already starting inChicago, it's moving into
northern Indiana, western Ohio, and southern Michigan.
And they're looking forwardbetween 10 and 15 inches of snow
this afternoon, tonight, andtomorrow cleanup coming up later
tomorrow into early next week.
Next update coming a little bitlater on today, and tonight uh
we'll talk to you first thingovernight tonight and on Sunday
