SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
This has been your model just Steve Pelletier, and
I'm the Weatherman.
Thanks for checking into theWeathermanpod.com on your
Friday.
It is the tenth day of the tenthmonth of 2025.
My goodness, this year is andthis month and year are going by
quickly.
Third of the way through themonth already.
Well, our weather situation forthe Mid-Atlantic and Northeast
has some questions for theupcoming next several days.

(00:21):
There are going to be somecoastal flood watches, in fact,
from the outer banks of NorthCarolina right up through
Delmarva, New Jersey, LongIsland, and coastal New England.
An area of low pressure is goingto be forming probably over the
Carolinas or just offshore, andthen slowly, gradually drifting
northward.
The models have been changeableand also the timing has been
different from model to model.

(00:42):
And it does show that the bestpossibility for some rainy
weather would be in theafternoon and evening on Sunday
and also on Columbus Day Mondayfrom this low pressure system
that will drive in east winds, and that's going to cause them
coastal flooding and beacherosion.
And there's a lot of places inSouth Jersey that have had beach
erosion this past season.
And uh looks like that situationmay get a little bit worth like

(01:03):
uh at Brigantine and sections ofCape Bay County and even
sections of uh Monmouth andOcean counties as well in New
Jersey.
Uh coastal sections of LongIsland, also the South Shore
probably will have some uh beacherosion and the possibility of
some coastal flooding there, probably on Sunday and Monday.
So we have coastal flood watchesin effect for those places at
that time.

(01:24):
In the meantime, for yourFriday, we've got high pressure
building in.
Sunny skies, highs will reachthe middle 60s in most places,
fair to partly cloudy at night47, then clouds on the increase
from that approaching storm fromthe south on Saturday.
We'll give us some rain Saturdaynight and Sunday, mostly Sunday
and Monday.
Temperatures on Sunday andMonday with the coastal flood
watches in effect, and that eastcoast storm ranging generally in

(01:48):
the upper 50s and lower 60s.
Now, if you're traveling today, specifically traveling by
airliner, you're going to havesome significant delays across
the nation because of thegovernment shutdown.
And it is causing uh quite a bitof delays.
We've seen some 600 uh at leastdelays, some cancellations in
Atlanta, Charlotte, New York,Norc, also out in Chicago, and

(02:11):
so out in the West Coast aswell.
An interesting thing at the WestCoast, we have a tropical storm
Priscilla that's uh just off tothe we have Tropical Storm
Priscilla, which is just to thewest of Baja California.
That's an extension ofCalifornia South uh into the
Pacific and just to the uhnorthwestern coast of Mexico.
Well, there's another one, uhanother tropical storm that's to

(02:33):
the south, and the combinationof those two are going to be
bringing lots of rain into thewest coast.
So that along with the uhgovernment shutdown and uh the
problems with the FAA and allthe other uh government
agencies, we're going to havesome hefty rains and possibly
some monsoons across the FourCorners area and a good portion
of California in the south andalso from San Francisco north up

(02:55):
to Portland and into Seattle.
But that's being caused by someillusion low pressure systems
that are now starting to takehold and move into the Pacific
Northwest as well.
Central South Florida also undersome scattered showers and
thunderstorms.
So some delays thereweather-wise, but of course
you're gonna have all delays, sojust check with your carriers,
check with your flights at alltimes.

(03:15):
Uh best to schedule over thenext several days.
If it is next week, is toschedule in the morning, first
thing out.
That's when you want to be.
Uh, not in the afternoon eveningwhen the delays compound.
And that's something to considerwhen you're making those plans
for traveling over the nextseveral days.
I'm in your wallet, SteveFellaterian.
I'm the weatherman.
Hope you have a great day today.

(03:36):
Talk to you first thing onSaturday.
Take a look at that stormdeveloping over the east at that
time.
See you then.
