SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hi, this has been
your ballot, Steve Pelletier,
(00:01):
and I am the Weatherman.
Thanks for checking intotheWeathermanPod.com on your
Friday, 19th day, the month ofDecember, and quickly
approaching two-thirds of theway through the month.
And well, our temperatures arewarming up just a bit on the
eastern seaboard.
It has been on average of aboutsix to eight degrees below
normal up until about now.
But we have temperatures in the50s and in some places even the
(00:22):
60s during the daytime today.
Then a sharp cold front movesthrough, and then we get into
some near-normal conditions aswe head into the weekend and
early next week.
So for today, it looks like rainnearly going with some locally
heavy thunderstorms and someheavy downpours, and a wind
advisory because of thosesouth-southwest winds shifting
around to the northwest, 15 to30, but some gusts of 40 to 45.
(00:43):
And that's because that windadvisory with a strong cold
front moving through the region, generally during the early to
mid-afternoon hours.
Then as we head into theevening, we have heavy rains in
the morning with very warmconditions at night.
We get into a windy and colderflow, and even the possibility
of a few snow flurries here andthere.
But then we get into clearing, and it looks like generally fair
and more seasonable weathercoming up for the weekend.
(01:04):
Cold on Saturday, but warming upa bit on Sunday.
Saturday's high temperaturesgenerally in the 30s to near 40,
and Sunday's high temperaturesgenerally in the 40s, some
places even further south, downto about the 50 to 55 degree
range on Sunday.
Then it looks like fair, colderweather for early next week.
In the meantime, if you'retraveling today, extensive
delays in the New York,Philadelphia, Baltimore area
(01:27):
during the early going onFriday.
It will tend to improve a bitduring the afternoon, but
because the winds are shiftingaround to the northwest, it's uh
you're looking at between twoand four hours of delays and
even cancellations into the NewYork, Philadelphia, and Boston
area today.
But by this evening, the weathersituation starts to improve, so
uh things will graduallydiminish.
(01:48):
And uh any uh delayed flights orcanceled flights that we have
during the daytime today shouldbe uh at least uh augmented or
replaced on Saturday as theweather starts to improve.
Good weather in Atlanta today.
Charlotte's looking good, butalso good in central and south
Florida, except for somescattered showers and
thunderstorms across the keys.
Dry weather in Houston andDallas and Chicago, Minneapolis
(02:09):
showing an increase in cloudsand maybe some snow to rain or
ice uh during the overnightFriday to Saturday there.
West Coast is looking dry.
San Diego, LA.
It looks like uh wet weather inSan Francisco and Portland, and
see how it all looks like raincontinues in the Pacific
Northwest.
I've been your mind, SteveKelly.
And I'm the Weatherman.
Hope you have a great day today.
Talk to you first thing onSaturday.
(02:30):
See you then.
