Speaker 0 (00:00):
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier
and I'm the weatherman.
Thanks for checking intotheweathermanpodcom.
On your Thursday, 19th day ofthe month of June 2025.
A month that has been in thenortheast, on the cool side.
That's going to be changing, aswe're expecting a frontal
system to move through the areafrom DC up to the Boston region,

(00:20):
including New York City, philadelphia, baltimore and up
in Hartford.
We're expecting the possibilityof some locally heavy
thunderstorms, with the frontalsystem arriving during the
latter afternoon and eveninghours on Thursday.
Now that's also going to bepreceded by some sunshine and
warmer temperatures.
Highs could get up close to 90in New York City, 80s in
northwest Jersey, northeast inPA, south-southern New York and

(00:44):
even up to about 92, 93Baltimore and DC before the
thunderstorms hit.
Thunderstorms basicallyrepresent a frontal system
moving through the area andhigh-pressure building in behind
it.
The high pressure at first is anice, beautiful day For the
first day of summer, the summersolstice occurring at 1047 pm,
eastern Daylight Time on Fridayevening, and at that point the

(01:11):
sun will reach its highest pointin the sky at high noon and
looks like the earliest sunriseand the latest sunset.
Basically, that has beenchanging a little bit.
It's not really true, I thinkthe sunrise has been now working
its way the other way.
It's the sunset that's going tobe in New York City, say,
around 833.
It's been now working its waythe other way.
So the sun sets that's going tobe in New York City, say,
around 8.33.
And well, with that in mind, from here on in we'll probably
hover right around theresomewhere around sunrise at 5.30

(01:33):
, sunset around 8.30.
And then that starts to breakdown and you see the sunrise
getting later each and every day, sunset earlier by the time you
head to the end of July andduring the month of August.
But that's another story.
We've got some very warmweather moving in A great day
for Friday, but then it lookslike Saturday, sunday, monday

(01:54):
and even Tuesday.
The temperatures continue torise near 90 on Saturday, in the
90s on Sunday, mid-90s onMonday and Tuesday of next week,
and possibly another frontalsystem moving through the
northeast corner sometime aroundthe middle of the last full
week of the month of June nextweek.
In the meantime, if you areflying today, it looks like the
weather situation has improved.

(02:14):
In Atlanta They've been havingseveral days of scattered
showers and thunderstorms, butlocally severe weather is
expected across Ohio, aroundCleveland and Toledo southward
at Cincinnati and northernKentucky.
That area will be advancingeastward Also, rainy conditions
in Chicago that will be causingsome delays at Midway and O'Hare
.
Also in the southern portion ofFlorida there will be some

(02:36):
scattered late-day thunderstormsbut most of the time it will
not be raining.
But it is a rainy season downthere.
So it looks like, especially onthe west coast where they'll
have showers from Tampa, st Peteall the way down to the Keys.
New Orleans will have some rain, houston dry.
It looks like some showers inthe afternoon at Dallas-Fort
Worth with some very warmweather.
Warm conditions across thenation's midsection are actually

(02:57):
the central plain states inNebraska, kansas, northward up
to the Dakotas and North Dakota.
There'll be some more rainyweather with another frontal
system there and dry conditionson the West Coast continue from
San Francisco down to San Diego, northward up to Portland and
Seattle.
No problems weather-wisegetting into those places.
The big story will be the heavyweather across the eastern

(03:18):
Great Lakes, the Ohio Valley andthe Northeast as the frontal
system and the transition takesplace over to some heat and
humidity that will be arrivingthis upcoming weekend.
I'm Eddie Rollins, I'm StevePelletier and I'm the weatherman
.
Hope you have a great day today.
Talk to you first thing onFriday.
Take care.
