Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri
and I am the weatherman.
Thanks for checking intotheweathermanpodcom On your
Thursday.
It is the last day, the 31stday of the month of July 2025,
and the last few days of heatwave continues across the
northeast, as a matter of fact, many places across the nation.
The temperatures are well abovenormal on this month of July,

(00:22):
probably going to see theaverage temperatures around the
New York City area andPhiladelphia going about 4
degrees above normal.
Rainfall amounts also going tovary.
There were some places that hadtremendous amounts of rain
during this month of July, butit looks like for the most part,
above normal to well abovenormal rainfall-wise, all

(00:42):
because of thunderstorms, andanother round of some heavier
thunderstorms are a possibilityduring the daytime today.
The setup on the weather chartshows a stationary front that
goes from central Idaho all theway down into north Texas, then,
on an angle from right, aroundAmarillo, north and eastward on
a gradual slope, taking it rightacross the central Mississippi

(01:03):
River Valley, then in throughPennsylvania, new Jersey and
through southern New England.
High pressure is buildingsouthward out of the Great Lakes
, out of central Canada, that'seventually going to be moving
towards the eastern seaboard, but it'll probably take a couple
of days.
Fourth day area of low pressureis going to form along that
frontal system that I mentionedand it's going to bring some
rainy weather towards the northand east.

(01:24):
So it looks like hazy and humidweather, but not as hot because
of the extra clouds and thepossibility of some heavy
thunderstorms associated withthose series of low-pressure
systems moving on throughEspecially the front drifts
further south, becomesstationary across the Carolinas,
keeping them in clouds and thepossibility of some showers.
But high pressure currentlybuilding across the western

(01:45):
Great Lakes Move eastward andgive the northeast some
excellent weather for the firstfew days of the new month of
August, commencing Friday.
Although on Friday early in theday in New York City probably
we'll have some leftover showers, definitely some rainy weather
down in Philly, baltimore and DC.
But further to the north, upand around the Boston area, some
beautiful weather moving intothere and across much of New

(02:06):
England.
Temperatures on Thursdaygenerally ranging in the mid-80s
with that chance of heavythunderstorms and there could be
some flooding highway andstreet flooding with some
heavier downpours.
Then on Friday some leftovershowers.
Early High pressure starts tobuild in.
Nice weather 80 to 85 for highs, nighttime lows in the 60s.
That will be your weather, weWord from Saturday, sunday, even

(02:27):
into Monday of next week.
Well, for flying today it stilllooks like some heavy weather
into the northeast, so therewill be some extensive delays
into the New York, philadelphia, baltimore and DC area,
especially during the afternoonand evening Up in the Boston
area, also showing some showersand thunderstorms, but they'll
be ending by later in the day.
Most of the heavier weatherwill be to their south and then

(02:49):
we get into some great weatherfor the New England area.
On Friday and this upcomingweekend Atlanta will have some
scattered showers andthunderstorms, also some
afternoon thunderstorms inCharlotte.
So minimal delays, but somedelays are possible there.
Typical thunderstorms off thecoast of Florida.
It looks like some rainyweather in Houston during the
afternoon.
Otherwise hazy, hot and humidall the way up into Dallas-Fort

(03:12):
Worth and into Amarillo.
Westward it looks like dryconditions from San Diego, la up
to San Francisco, but somerainy weather in Portland and
Seattle.
Today I'm Eddie Rodgers inPalantir and I am the weatherman
.
I hope you have a great day.
