Speaker 0 (00:00):
Hi, this is
meteorologist Steve Pelletier
and I'm the weatherman.
Thanks for checking intotheweathermanpodcom on your
Wednesday, 18th day of the monthof June.
On the other side, the flipside of the month of June, so
far in many places thetemperatures have been cooler
than normal Cooler by about adegree or two.
In some places it's near normal.
(00:20):
But those are just the placeswhere they may have had some
warmer spots or some breaks inuncertain days.
But basically our rainfallamounts are above normal.
Our temperatures are a littlebit below normal so far, but
that's going to be changingbecause we do see some heat and
humidity.
It's all across the nation.
Midsection is going to begradually moving to the eastern
seaboard over the next severaldays.
(00:40):
So our forecast for today iscalling for early clouds to give
way to some midday sun and thepossibility of some late day and
evening thunderstorms from DCto the Boston area, all
associated with first a littlefrontal system and low pressure
that's currently giving quite abit of rainfall across the
southern Great Lakes.
That will be moving eastwardand give us those downpours,
especially for tonight.
(01:01):
But we might have a little bitof midday sun helping those
temperatures in the mid-80stoday.
Tomorrow we'll start off withsome clouds We'll give way to
some midday hazy sun andtemperatures going up into the
upper 80s and lower 90s.
The thunderstorms tomorrowafternoon and tomorrow evening
from Richmond up to New York toBoston will probably be
associated with a strong coolfront or at least a
(01:22):
high-pressure center moving itbehind that frontal system.
Not really a cool front, butit's going to get warmer as the
frontal system moves through.
But it does look like drierconditions for Friday.
Friday's highs will range intothe 80s.
No mention of rain.
No mention of rain expected forSaturday or Sunday or even
Monday of next week and in someplaces early next week
temperatures will be in the midto upper 90s.
(01:43):
So heat waves starting, I think, this weekend, on Saturday,
sunday, monday and possibly evenTuesday of next week before the
next frontal system arrives.
If you are traveling on thisWednesday, we do see the
possibility of some more rainyweather.
It's been raining down inAtlanta for the last couple of
days.
Looks like they'll have thepossibility of more showers and
thunderstorms, especially in theafternoon hours on this
(02:05):
Wednesday.
So Atlanta, maybe some slightdelays, moderate delays in
Newark, laguardia, jfk becauseof the weather situation up in
the Boston area A lot of clouds, minimal delays expected there.
In Chicago it looks likebetween a half hour to an hour
and a half, maybe two hourdelays because of some heavy
weather moving in during theafternoon hours.
From there all the way up toMilwaukee Looks dry.
(02:26):
Up in Minneapolis, st Paul, houston, some showers, south
Florida showers andthunderstorms during the
afternoon.
Midday we'll have some hazy suntemperatures going into the
lower 90s, typical weather forSouth Florida this time of year.
Dallas-fort Worth is lookingdry as well.
West Coast also dry.
San Diego L and San Francisco, rainy weather in Portland and in
(02:50):
Seattle.
Once again on your Wednesday.
I'm your manager, stevePelletier, and I am the
weatherman.
Hope you have a great day today.
You know it's going to be alittle bit clouds to start.
We'll give way to some sun.
The next several days is goingto be drier and drier and it's
going to be warmer and warmerand could see temperatures burn
the daytime on Monday in someplaces up.
