Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, this is
meteorologist Steve Pelletier
and I'm the weatherman.
Thanks for checking intotheweathermanpodcom on your
Friday, first day of the monthof August 2025.
And boy, it was a hot July thatwe've had and some pretty
hectic weather across theNortheast through flood watches
and mornings all across theMid-Atlantic and Northeast Looks
(00:20):
like the heaviest rainfallseemed to be somewhere from
about New Paltz, new York, upinto about Pittsfield,
massachusetts, and extendinginto central and northern
sections of Connecticut.
And now during the latterafternoon there were some heavy
thunderstorms also off theJersey coast and also over the
Delmarva Peninsula, now big areahigh pressure currently located
right over the Great Lakes, extending from Minnesota
(00:44):
eastward right into southernOntario and Quebec.
Well, that high pressure cellis going to move into the
northeast and give us someexcellent weather for the
northeast corridor, commencinglater today and lasting probably
right in through early nextweek.
In the meantime, the frontalsystem moving south will
(01:05):
possibly give us a little bit ofshower action in the morning
hours on Friday, but theneventually the rains will most
likely extend from East Texasacross through Louisiana,
alabama, mississippi, intoGeorgia and the Carolinas and
also into southern Virginia bylater Friday and into Saturday
and Sunday.
Almost a stationary front downthere, as that high pressure
itself builds right into thenortheast is going to give you
some excellent weather for thefirst three days of the new
(01:25):
month of August.
Elsewhere around the nation weare looking at generally rainy
weather, as I mentioned, aroundthe Gulf Coast, eastward to the
Carolinas Also some rain fromfour corners northward, all the
way up through the Dakotas, western portions of Nebraska and
Kansas and into Colorado, eveninto Montana and northern Idaho,
and even rainy weather intonorthern Nevada and sections of
(01:46):
Utah and eastern portions ofWashington and Oregon State.
But for the most part ourweather situation will continue
to be quite nice in thenortheast.
Carter, from DC up to theBoston area, expect highs 80 to
85.
Early showers giving way toclearing on Friday, sunny
weather on Saturday, sunnyweather on Sunday and Monday and
all days, as mentioned in thenortheast ranging from 80 to 85,
(02:09):
nighttime lows in the 60s.
Hope you enjoy this first dayof August.
We'll have some details in thepast month of July and
tomorrow's report.
In the meantime, have yourselfa great day and talk to you soon
.
Bye-bye.
