Speaker 0 (00:00):
Hi, this is
meteorologist Steve Pelletier
and I'm the weatherman.
Thanks for checking in totheweathermanpodcom on your
Monday.
It's the 16th day of the monthof June 2025 and we've got that
overcast condition east of theMississippi.
As a matter of fact, it extendsfrom the Dakotas across through
the Great Lakes, a few breaksacross southern Michigan and
southern portions of Ontario, but as you head further east
we're in a lot of cloud cover ofOntario, but as you head
(00:22):
further eastward, a lot of cloudcover and the persistent east
wind.
It's a stationary front thathas actually become a little bit
active during the daytime onSundays, now pushing a little
bit further south, but still andyou have a frontal system that
is the catalyst or even thelocation where you have waves of
low-pressure form and then theymove across the northeast,
(00:45):
elsewhere across the nation, from the nation's midsection
west to the West Coast.
It looks basically dry.
A little frontal system isgoing to be approaching the
Pacific Northwest, but that alsogenerally dry and most of that
shower action from that frontwon't be until Tuesday.
But for the Northeast, from theNortheast corner, dc up to the
Boston area, we've got lots ofclouds today, very limited
amounts of rainfall.
Most of your rain is going tobe over to southern states,
southern portion of that region, west Virginia, virginia,
(01:06):
maryland and southern Delmarva.
Also extensive areas of rainacross the Tennessee Valley,
kentucky, Tennessee and rightthrough the Carolinas, but
across the northeast just a lotof cloud cover.
For your Monday, temperatureshover close to 70 degrees.
More clouds likely as thissituation probably not clear
itself out on Tuesday.
But as we head towardsWednesday a little bit of drier
weather will start to result.
(01:26):
Higher pressure will start tobuild into the east.
That should give some prettygood weather to much of the
northeast corner by the middleand end of this week in June.
In the meantime, if you'retraveling today, expecting IFR
conditions down in Atlanta andin Charlotte also scattered,
afternoon and eveningthunderstorms.
Central and south Florida Alsosome showers and drizzle and fog
in Louisiana and rainy weatherin Charlotte Also scattered,
afternoon and eveningthunderstorms.
(01:47):
Central and south Florida Alsosome showers and drizzle and fog
in Louisiana and rainy weatherin Houston.
Looks like generally dryingconditions in Dallas-Fort Worth
and, looking at, mostly cloudyskies, just a slight chance of
some showers in Chicago.
But rainy weather will be withus in Minnesota during the
daytime today.
West Coast, as mentioned, sanDiego, la, san Francisco all the
way up to Portland and up toSeattle Washington.
Also looking on the dry sidefor your Monday, but in the New
(02:09):
York area just lots of clouds, alittle bit of light shower
action here and there.
Temperatures daytime only inthe upper 70s to near 80 degrees
by the end of this week, fortoday it's only going to be near
70 for a high in New York Cityunder cloudy skies.
