Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, this is
meteorologist Steve Pelletier
and I'm the weatherman.
Thanks for checking intotheweathermanpodcom on your
Sunday.
It's the eighth day of themonth of June 2025.
And while during the daytimeyesterday we had a frontal
system move across themid-Atlantic and northeastern
states did cause some showersand thunderstorms.
Well, after that frontal system, another stationary front
developed just to the south.
(00:20):
Areas of low pressure are goingto be forming along that
frontal system.
That extends from central andnorthern Ohio and the northern
Great Lakes all the way down tothe Gulf Coast and then eastward
right through the coast ofVirginia and Delmarva.
Areas of low pressure will beforming on that and it's going
to keep us into a decent amountof cloud cover for today, as our
temperatures range in the 70sto near 80 degrees, and still
(00:41):
with that 30% chance of isolatedshowers and maybe some later
day and early eveningthunderstorms.
Looking ahead to monday, stilla lot of cloud cover, as the
stationary front does spawnanother area of low pressure or
two that could keep us in thepossibility of some rain for
later monday, monday night andtuesday.
Then we get into some drierweather around midweek big area
high pressures building downinto montana that'll push
(01:03):
through the dakotas today andeventually arrive in the
mid-Atlantic and northeast byWednesday night and Thursday of
this week.
So, weather-wise, throughoutthe daytime today again,
temperature 70s to near 80 andthat possibility of some showers
.
More clouds than not for thedaytime on Monday, with the
possibility of a few showers anda better chance of rain for
Monday night and Tuesday, asthat next frontal system arrives
(01:25):
in the east.
If you're flying today it lookslike frontal system will be
moving its way through northernGeorgia and that will cause some
locally heavy thunderstorms incentral and northern Georgia,
extending eastward to the GulfCoast and to the coast of North
and South Carolina.
Severe weather will be formingacross Central and Northern
Texas, including Dallas-FortWorth and into Oklahoma City.
(01:51):
In those areas there.
Please check into your localforecast, especially for the
afternoon, for severethunderstorms and tornadoes are
a possibility with this system.
Looks like drier weather inHouston.
Dry weather also in Central andSouth Florida.
A frontal system moving throughChicago will keep them in the
possibility of showers andthunderstorms.
Today, dry weather for the westcoast, los Angeles and San
Diego looking fine, and it lookslike generally dry conditions
(02:12):
in Portland and Seattle as well.
I'm your moderator, stevePelletier, and I am the
weatherman.
Hope you have a great day today.
A little bit of cloud covermight be a few showers.
Looks like some better weather, probably arriving around
midweek.
It might take that long.
