Speaker 0 (00:00):
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier
and I'm the weatherman.
Thanks for checking in totheweathermanpodcom on your
Thursday, seventh day of themonth of August 2025, one
weekend already.
And well, it looks like somedry weather across the Northeast
.
We did have a few lightsprinkles and showers.
They extended from just overcentral Maryland, northern
Virginia and even into centraland southern New Jersey, for the

(00:21):
most part in the morning andthen another round during the
evening hours, and it looks likethose showers will be moving on
through the little upper-leveltroughs swinging on by the area.
So we're expecting sunshine butalso temperatures in the lower
80s.
Similar weather pattern forFriday It'll be mostly fair
skies at night down to the 60s.
Daytime highs about 80 to 85expected for Friday.

(00:43):
Now it's into the weekend thatthe system of high pressure
starts to move offshore and weget into the more hazy, hot and
humid weather.
It'll start on Saturday.
Actually, temperatures will bein the middle 80s and we're
expecting fair conditions.
But then by Sunday, monday, tuesday, right up through
Wednesday, highs will be rangingbetween 90 and 95.
Nighttime lows generally in the60s to the lower 70s and we're
going to get into those dog daysof summer as we continue

(01:06):
through at least the second weekof the month of August, with
above normal temperatures, andit does look basically dry for
the next several days.
Now, if you are traveling today,of course there's a lot of
delays because of UnitedAirlines shutting down or
actually canceling a lot offlights because of computer
problems with their main systemsfor the aircraft weight and

(01:27):
measures.
You really have to make surethat all things are proper when
a large aircraft has to have theweight distributed properly and
the computers that figured thatall out kind of went down and
they had to redo everything.
Got it going later on, butafter that there's a lot of
cancellations and a lot ofdelays.
So that's the kind of thingthat you're looking at for

(01:48):
United Airlines during thedaytime today, on Wednesday, but
on Thursday hopefully thingswill be better, but it probably
takes a few days for thesethings to really straighten out.
Weather-wise, no major problemsin Atlanta.
That's the number onedestination for a lot of
airlines and of course the hubfor Delta, one of the largest
airlines in the country and theworld for that matter.

(02:10):
And it looks like central andsouth Florida will be under
showers and thunderstorms too.
So going down there there couldbe a few delays, but very light
delays in Atlanta.
Light delays possible inCharlotte and no major problems,
at least as far as the weatheris concerned, for the New York
area airports Philly up to NewYork, laguardia, jfk and Newark.
However, as you head up towardthe Boston area, a little bit of

(02:32):
cloud cover and a littleupper-level disturbance may
bring in some showers there.
So some slight delays expectedin the Boston area during the
afternoon hours today.
Also looking at some scatteredshowers across Wisconsin, but
probably not so at Midway orO'Hare.
We're looking at a possibilityin the Chicago area.
No major weather delays there.
Some light weather delays inHouston and Dallas-Fort Worth.

(02:53):
It looks like just hot weatherand dry conditions will continue
there for the next several days.
Some locally severe conditionsover western portions of North
Dakota and eastern Montana andsmoky conditions also across the
northern tier of states as well.
And looking at smoky weather insouthern and central Florida
excuse me, southern and centralCalifornia because of wildfires

(03:14):
there.
Generally no problemsweather-wise, with just smoky
and hazy in San Diego, losAngeles, san Francisco is
looking generally fair and dry, generally fair in Portland and
Seattle as well.
I'm your host, steve Pilatiri, and I am the weatherman.
Hope you have a great day today.
Talk to you first thing onFriday.
See you then.
