Hi, this is
meteorologist Steve Pelletier
and I am the weatherman.
Hope you have a great Fridaythe 13th.
Around the area Looks like someof the cloud cover starting to
work its way into themid-Atlantic and northeast and
it looks like the possibility ofsome showers for the
mid-Atlantic and northeast fortoday on the light side,
tomorrow a little bit greater, probably of about 50% for
showers and thunderstorms, andon Father's Day, sunday, it's an
(00:27):
east wind and a stationaryfront that's setting up from
about northern Illinois, acrossthrough Indiana, ohio and then
right to the eastern seaboardright over New York City.
South of there it tends to be alittle bit warmer North of
there.
That east flow will keeptemperatures cool and a constant
barrage of some scatteredshowers and isolated
thunderstorms forming along thatfrontal system will keep us in
clouds.
And again, temperatures todaynot too bad upper 70s, lower 80s
.
It was really warm on Thursday.
(00:49):
Some temperatures went all theway up to about 90 to 95.
But even along the shore it wasno sea breeze and the ocean is
cool this time of year and we'regoing to feel that over the
next several days with that eastwind from Delmarva all the way
up to the islands off the Capeand also into coastal New
England and southern Canada aswell.
(01:10):
The very east wind willcontinue to keep temperatures
below normal in those places forthe next several days, along
with the possibility of someshowers.
It looks like early next weekMonday and Tuesday not much of a
change.
The upper-level low-pressuresystem and that frontal system
meandering across the area willkeep us in clouds and a not much
of a change.
Upper-level low-pressure systemand that frontal system
meandering across the area willkeep us in clouds and a threat
of some showers as well.
If you're flying on this Friday, it looks like we still have
(01:32):
lots of shower action across theNew York City area, newark,
laguardia, jfk Not heavy weather, not low IFR, but there could
be some isolated delays becauseof the possibility of,
especially in the afternoon, ofsome thunderstorms.
But we also have some heavierrain, probably around the
Baltimore and DC area, furthersouth Charlotte also having the
chance of some showers, maybesome heavier rain or showers in
(01:55):
central and northern Georgia andAtlanta Down.
In central and south Floridastill the possibility of some
isolated afternoon and eveningthunderstorms, but widespread
across much of the FloridaPeninsula Drier weather.
In Houston and in Dallas-FortWorth, chicago, clouds and
showers.
I mentioned a little bitearlier.
That stationary front lies fromjust over northern Illinois
(02:15):
actually extends in through Iowaand into the northern Rockies
and to Montana and in thoseplaces there is going to be some
rain, especially in somelocally severe conditions across
northern Wyoming andsoutheastern sections of Montana
.
Western South Dakota and theWest Coast looks generally dry.
After some morning fog in LAand San Diego gets into some
midday sun in the afternoon, sanFrancisco lots of clouds but
(02:38):
then some midday sun but alsocooler temperatures there.
Dry conditions in Portland andin Seattle.
On your Friday I'm your host, justin Pelletieri, and I am the
weatherman.
