SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hi, this has been
your Steve Pelletier, and I am
the Weatherman.
Thanks for checking into theWeathermanpod.com on your
Monday, 29th day, the month ofDecember, 2025.
The month of December, weatherwise, at least from about
uh central Virginia northwardall the way into New England.
We're going to be averagingbetween four and eight degrees
below normal.
And snowfall amounts are abovenormal too, especially across
(00:22):
the Hudson Valley of New Yorkinto central and southern New
England.
And even in sections of centraland northern New Jersey,
northeastern Pennsylvania, youare going to have temperatures
and conditions that are a littlebit below normal,
temperature-wise, above normalsnowfall.
That's because of the snows thatwe received during the overnight
and during the weekend.
(00:42):
Well, actually, it was just alittle bit of freezing rain
during the overnight hours.
There was some snow up furthernorth, north of Albany, into
central and southern NewEngland, but that's all moving
east now.
A warm front going through isgoing to cause temperatures a
jump into the 50s.
So any snow that we have isgoing to be a lot of melting on
Monday.
But then a solid freeze forlater in the day and at night.
A wind advisory in effect forthe afternoon on Monday.
(01:04):
Early high temperatures in theupper 40s to near 50, dropping
back into the 30s and 20s bylater in the day and at night.
On Tuesday, look for just apartly sunny day, a high of
about 33 ditto for Wednesday,sunshine, low 30s.
And there could be some snowshowers, a windy and cold with
another frontal system movingthrough on the first day of the
new year on this Thursday.
(01:24):
Now, if you're traveling by airtoday into the New York area,
because we have a wind advisoryduring the afternoon and
evening, there is going to be uhquite a bit of delays because
everything has to go a lotslower using the specific
runways that uh aren't parallel, which means you have to do a one
at a time landing, one takingoff, instead of just doing a
landing and take off at the sametime.
That's what the uh purpose ofparallel runways are.
(01:46):
You have loads of parallelrunways at JFK, one parallel.
That's a 422 at Newark, but atLaGuardia, it's just two
runways, and they sort of likeswitch off on both.
And uh either way, it just makesit tougher when you have those
strong winds.
There will be a lot ofturbulence and uh some delays
getting into the New York area.
Also, some delays up into theBoston area with that front
(02:06):
going through.
There could be a little bit oficing there.
Uh, down across into theCarolinas, we are expecting uh
the showers to move offshore, and high pressure will build in.
So looks like improving weatherin the uh Charlotte area for
later today and tonight alsoimproving into Atlanta as the
cold front is going throughthere as well.
In the Chicago area, theweather's improving, but still
(02:27):
very strong winds and very coldconditions, and most of the snow
showers and squalls have movedeast.
Uh snow showers and squalls inDetroit, also Cleveland and
Toledo, so you'll have delaysinto there.
Uh out on the West Coast, stilldry weather, finally for San
Diego, LA, San Francisco, allthe way up to Portland and
Seattle.
Gulf Coast also looking prettygood.
Houston and Dallas Fort Worth,no problems weather wise in
(02:49):
those places.
I've been your model Just StevePelletier, and I am the
weatherman.
Hope you have a great day onthis Monday.
Talk to your first thingtomorrow.
See you then.
