SPEAKER_00 (00:01):
Hi, this is Vindy Roger, Steve Pelletieri, and
thanks for checking in to theWeathermanpod.com on their
Thursday.
It is Christmas Day, the 25thday of the month of December,
2025.
And it looks like some wintryweather coming back into the
northeast, and that is becauseof a winter storm watch in
effect for the afternoon andevening hours on Friday into

(00:23):
early Saturday.
Good possibility of these stormscoming in out of the northwest
towards the southeast, and thatis going to bring us the
possibility of between four andeight inches of snowfall.
Now, the area of snow that'sgoing to be in the area is going
to be centered practically rightacross northern New Jersey,
southern New York State, NewYork City, and Long Island.

(00:43):
As you go further south ofsouthern New Jersey, it looks
like the amounts get less andless and then just uh traces
down to Baltimore and even intoD.C.
The storm will be to the north.
And from the Albany areasouthward up through the uh
southern portion of New YorkState around Rockland and Orange
Counties.
That's where you might see alittle bit of a max area as the

(01:04):
storm continues to move into theregion.
That'll be during the eveninghours on Friday, inter early
Saturday.
Today, not a bad day.
It's going to be a partly sunnyday for your Christmas holiday.
Our high temperatures will reachthe mid-40s.
Now there will be some cloudytimes and a few passing
sprinkles and showers.
Tonight, partly cloudy.
Overnight lows will be cold downto 18 to 25 degrees.

(01:25):
Daytime Friday, thickeningclouds will bring us that snow
probably sometime after 3 p.m.
And again, this is centeredright across central and
northern New Jersey, southernNew York, New York City, and
northeastern Pennsylvania.
To the south, it's just going tobe a light amount of snowfall
south of Philadelphia and uhnorth of New York City up to
about the Albany area could besome very heavy snow, but the

(01:46):
amounts could get up between sixand ten inches in those places.
And that will also affect muchof southwestern and western
Connecticut and southernMassachusetts and into even
Rhode Island as the stormcontinues very quickly into the
morning hours on Saturday.
So uh temperatures daytime onFriday will range up to only

(02:07):
near 30 degrees.
So it will be set already intothat cold air.
Then the storm moves down out ofthe Great Lakes and gives us the
possibility of snow for the NewYork City area.
And again, South Jersey, brigantine, down to Atlantic
City, Cape May.
Uh just light amounts, maybecoatings to an inch or two.
Um, but uh even further southfrom there, just the possibility

(02:27):
of some rain and some snowshowers.
So there may even be some rainin the southern portion of this
storm as it goes on through.
This will be on Friday night, early Saturday.
For the rest of this upcomingweekend, uh looks like it's the
last weekend of 2025.
We do have the possibility of uhsome rainy weather moving in
later Sunday and Sunday night, then another Arctic front
that'll be arriving on Mondayafternoon.

(02:48):
So although Monday early hightemperatures will range into the
mid-40s, by Tuesday highs willonly range in the 20s to near 30
degrees, and that cold weatherwill settle into the middle
portion of next week.
Now, if you're traveling by airtoday, good day to travel,
because not many folks aretraveling, but if you have to,
uh, here is the weathersituation across the nation.
A cold front will be arriving inthe northeast sometime during

(03:11):
the middle to later afternoonhours.
There might be a sprinkle or arain shower, even a snow shower
associated with that front as itmoves around through.
But from New York City throughthe Boston area, no major
weather problems for today.
Today is going to be pretty goodin New York, LaGuardia, JFK,
Newark.
Uh any delays that you have, probably just associated with

(03:31):
either traffic or operations.
In the Boston area, no problemsweather wise there.
D.C.
also looking pretty good.
Although a little area of rainacross West Virginia, eastern
Kentucky, eastern Tennessee, andwestern portions of the state of
Virginia around the Shenandoahwill be advancing eastward and
probably moving off themid-Atlantic coast sometime
later on tonight.
But no problems flying in andout of New York or the Boston

(03:53):
area.
Chicago's also looking prettygood.
Minneapolis, St.
Paul, the possibility of someice out there, so there could be
some problems into Minneapolis.
Uh, down to Atlanta, also dryconditions for the most part.
The rain will stay to the north.
Some showers in Charlotte, butnothing major, so no problems
getting in and out of there.
Uh central and South Floridalooking decent.
Scattered showers andthunderstorms just offshore from

(04:14):
Miami, all the way down to theKeys.
Dry weather after some early fogin Houston, dry in Dallas Fort
Worth.
West Coast, still with the rain.
And there's flooding and uhflash flooding all across uh
Southern California, startingfrom San Diego up to the LA
Basin, all the way up to SanFrancisco, where there will be
locally severe weather in SanFrancisco.

(04:34):
So some heavy weather there aswell, and also some flooding all
across the state.
Uh a little bit less in therainfall in Portland and
Seattle, still showing somerain, but not as heavy as what
we're seeing across uh centraland southern portions of
California today.
So going into there, there willbe some aircraft or air flying

(04:55):
in and out of LA, San Francisco, and San Diego today.
Just want to take a moment towish everybody a happy holiday
season.
We are now coming down to thelast few days of this year of
2025.
So far in the northeast, uhDecember is running about five
to six degrees below normal, andlooks like our snowfall amounts,

(05:15):
if we do get that snow on Fridaynight, will be above normal for
the month, and we haven't hadthat in several years.
We'll update this weatherforecast on your Friday morning
and give you the details on anortheast storm.
Till then, hope you have a greatholiday day on your Thursday and
Christmas Day, and we'll talk toyou first thing on Friday.
See you then.
Enjoy the day.
