And if you're certain, thiswellness river cruise is calling
your name, please waste no timein securing your place on board
.
Riverboat cruises fill uprapidly.

(02:28):
That's why my mistake, but wehad to shift the dates from this
year to next year, so don'tthink about it too long.
Seize the opportunity while youcan.
And if you're looking for moreinformation in episode 63 and 64
, a journey of wellness andwonder on the Dan Noob with Ammo
Waterways, I had the pleasureof having Laurie she is a

(02:49):
representative from AmmoWaterways and Tammy, my friend.
She is a seasoned travelconcierge.
They came onto the podcast andwe got to discuss the full river
cruise experience, so that wassuper cool.
So feel free to check thoseepisodes out for more
information.
Again, this all has to happenquickly.
The cruise is around the corner, it's April of next year and

(03:12):
there are only 129 cabins on theboat.
They sell out quickly, so ifyou're interested, put your
deposit down.
It's not a lot to hold yourspot, okay.
Well, let's get started.
Did you know the 478 breathingtechnique can instantly calm you

(03:40):
?
We all have those moments wherestress sneaks in and suddenly
your brain starts doing ahundred things at once.
Did you know that controllingyour breath can instantly calm
you down, even in the middle ofyour busiest day?
And it doesn't take longSeriously, it takes less than
one minute and this technique iscalled the 4-7-8 breathing

(04:02):
technique.
You can also do the 4 four, fourbox breathing technique here.
Both techniques are incrediblyeffective to relieve stress.
But the difference is, ifyou're looking for an easy,
quick, simple reset, the four, four, four is perfect.
If you want a deeper, morecalming experience, I would go

(04:22):
for the four, seven, eight, sookay.
So this is how it works.
You're going to inhale throughyour nose for four seconds and
you want to make sure thatyou're breathing all the way
into your diaphragm and it'slike a wave.
The breath is like a wave.
Breathe into your diaphragm andyou feel this wave going up to
your chest right.
So you want to do that for fourseconds and then you want to

(04:46):
hold that breath for sevenseconds.
This is where it starts to gethard and then, after the seven
seconds, you then exhale slowlythrough your mouth for eight
seconds.
Yeah, this breathing techniquetakes a little bit more focus to
do, but it is incrediblypowerful.
Doing this a few times I meanit's quick Do it a few times and

(05:09):
you'll feel your stress levelsdrop like magic.
It is the perfect reset betweenmeetings or anytime you need a
quick mental break.
I've used it plenty of timeswhen I'm feeling overwhelmed.
So I highly encourage you totry it, because it's super fast.
You can do it anywhere maybenot while driving, but you can
almost do it anywhere.

(05:30):
So you just need to take amoment and breathe.
Okay, let's move on to the nextone.
Did you know a five-minute deskstretch can boost your mood?
It is true, we spend so muchtime sitting hunched over at our
computers that our bodies startto lock up.
I had this experience over theweekend.
I drove to San Antonio and it'sabout a three and a half to

(05:54):
four hour drive and by the end Icould just feel my whole body
just locking up.
And it only takes a few minutesto roll your shoulders, stretch
your arms overhead and gentlytilt your head side to side.
This can release all of thattension and, the best part, you
feel more focused and energized, ready to take on whatever comes

(06:14):
next.
It's like hitting the refreshbutton for your body and your
mind.
I did this when I got out to goto the restroom and get gas
once.
I just took a little time tomove, you know, move my body a
little bit and stretch my neckand my back and I just.
It really is energizing.
Okay, this one is for all mybusy people who think

(06:37):
mindfulness is some big timeconsuming ritual.
Do you know you only need 60seconds to practice mindfulness?
Yep, that's just one minute.
And here's what you do youclose your eyes, find a nice
spot, close your eyes, take afew deep breaths and focus on
the sensations around you orwithin you.

(06:57):
What do you feel?
What do you hear?
Just take a moment to get inthe present can help you feel
more grounded, even wheneverything around you is chaotic
.
Sometimes it's all you have.
You don't need to carve out awhole hour.
Sometimes one minute is all youneed to clear your head.
I am a huge advocate for this.

(07:19):
I spend more time just takingmoments throughout my day.
Then I actually do a formalpractice.
I still enjoy the formalpractices, but sometimes mine
are no longer than 10 minutes,10 or 15 minutes.
You don't need anything morethan that, so you don't have to
have this.
You know hour two hour ritualwhere you're sitting down and

(07:42):
meditating.
You can take mindful momentsthroughout the day and I think
they are more beneficial to you.
The important thing is that youdo it and you do it
consistently, and I guaranteeyou you will see results.
Okay, last one for today.
Did you know that stepping awayfrom your situation for a quick
five minute walk can rebootyour brain, especially if it's

(08:04):
outside?
Really, when you walk, itboosts your circulation and
clears your mind, helping youcome back to your situation with
a fresh perspective.
When I'm feeling overwhelmed orI'm starting to lose my focus
at work, I grab Finn and we gofor a walk in Rice Village, and
I just cannot speak enough aboutthis and how beneficial it is,

(08:30):
you know.
It's like a reset button foryour brain and it doesn't take
much time at all.
Plus, you get the added benefitof moving your body and Mother
Nature.
All right, my wellness warriorfriends.
That is a wrap on today's didyou know?
Segment.
These tips are super easy tofit into your day, so, no matter
how packed your schedule is,next time you're feeling

(08:51):
overwhelmed, try one of thesequick stress relievers.
They really work, I promise.
And remember even small changescan lead to big shifts in your
wellbeing.
Until next time, take a deepbreath, stretch it out and keep
moving forward.
