This all has to happen quickly.
I know the cruise is next year, april of next year I keep

But there are only 129 cabinson the boat and they sell out

(03:13):
quickly.
So if you're interested, Irecommend putting your deposit
down quickly.
It's not a lot to hold yourspot.
Okay, well, let's dive intotoday's episode of the Wellness
Inspired Podcast.
This segment is a segment ofWeekly Wellness Watch, but I

(03:40):
guess we could also say it is asegment of wellness by design,
because we're talking about acurrent event and we're also
talking about smart hometechnology and how it can
improve our health and wellbeing.
So I came across an article onthe design rush website called
LG test AI air conditioning tohelp menopausal women, and it

(04:05):
caught my eye because we talkabout menopause, uh, on this
podcast a lot and I want to knowwhat you think.
So let's break this down, because this could be an
excellent idea or at least amove in the in a good direction.
So now that we're having moreconversations around menopause
and people realize that womenwill pay anything to relieve

(04:27):
some of the signs and symptomsof the transition, our
capitalistic ways are coming tothe table for the conversation.
So it's important to thinkcritically about these new
products and whether they arereally making our lives better.
There are a lot of things thatdon't work, and some that really
do hit the mark and improve ourlives, and that's the beauty of

(04:48):
our world, so let's jump intoit.
Lg has started beta testing forits latest project,
specifically made for womengoing through menopause.
In case you don't know, menopause is a wonderful time in
a woman's life when shetransitions to a stage of wisdom
and greater spiritual awareness.
It is a time of transformationand renewal.

(05:10):
But this birth comes with someunwanted and unpleasant side
effects pros and cons, pros andcons and these symptoms can vary
greatly, with 80 to 85% ofwomen experiencing hot flashes
and night sweats, while othersmay face depression,
irritability, insomnia and alack of concentration.
Some women, however lucky you, pass through menopause with

(05:34):
minimal signs and symptoms, butnot many.
But for those 80 to 85% thatexperienced interrupted sleep
due to hot flashes and nightsweats, and that LG is hoping to
improve your quality of sleepand life Okay, so let's just
talk about this.
So LG introduced somethingcalled menopause mode.
It is an AI powered featuredesigned to provide quick relief

(05:58):
to women experiencing hotflashes during sleep and night
sweats.
They don't say this in thearticle, but it has to be for
night sweats as well, becausethat also comes along with hot
flashes.
So this innovative use ofartificial intelligence helps
alleviate discomfort for womengoing through menopause.
They do this by pairing asmartwatch app with an LG air

(06:21):
conditioning unit.
The system monitors bodytemperature, blood oxygen and
heart rate in real time toidentify hot flashes during the
night.
Super cool, huh.
Well, it immediately.
Once it has a sense that thingsare changing, it immediately
sends a signal to the LG dualinverter plus AI, which cools

(06:44):
the room efficiently within 10minutes, and then the air
conditioner returns to theoriginal temperature setting.
Now I do have some questionsaround this.
Again, they are saying this isfor hot flashes, but night
sweats also come along withmenopause, like I just mentioned
earlier, and I could see someissues around this, but I'll

(07:07):
talk more about this in a minute.
The concept is currently beingtested in Brazil and if it's
successful there, maybe it willmake it to the US market.
Definitely would be a goodmarket, because in the United
States, there's around 1.3million who enter menopause each
year.
The average age for menopauseis 51.

(07:30):
Although it can occur anytimebetween the ages of 40 and 58,.
Uh, approximately 50 millionwomen in the United States are
currently experiencing menopauseor have already gone gone
through it.
So the menopause transition orperimenopausal transition.
It typically begins four to 10years before menopause and this

(07:51):
is uh.
This affects a significantportion of the female population
, and the Menopause andperimenopause can significantly
impact the quality of a woman'slife when she starts to go
through it.
And sleep is a big one.
You're not sleeping due tohormonal changes, as well as hot

(08:12):
flashes and night sweats, andLG's menopause mode seeks to
help women sleep through thenight by using AI technology to
improve their lives.
And as many companies race toimplement AI in their latest
products and services, seeing LGtake a step in a good direction
is refreshing.

(08:32):
I'm sure many are AI exhaustedand have fears around AI, but I
think some really great thingscan come out of it and I think
this possibly could be a reallygreat idea.
But there are a couple of kindof challenges I see them having.
Like I said, I think this is agreat idea to explore because
our quality of sleep is soimportant for our health, but

(08:54):
they got to get these thingsworked out.
I can see these.
I can kind of foresee thesebeing some issues.
You know, like I said, thearticle only mentions hot
flashes, but another symptomthat is associated with this
phase of life are night sweats, and this can also interfere with
the sleep.
A night sweat is an intensesweating that occurs during
sleep, often soaking clothes andthe bedding, and this can last

(09:16):
for hours.
A hot flash is a sudden feelingof heat, usually in the upper
body, and it causes redness andsweating, and this can occur any
time of the day or at night, and it usually lasts for a few
minutes.
So I'm curious to see how theywill approach this challenge and
how will AI determine torespond to one or both.

(09:38):
The hot flash is usually donewithin a few minutes, and if it
takes the room 10 minutes tocool down, I'm not sure what
that outcome will be, but it'llbe interesting to see.
I can see it being moreappropriate for hot flashes.
I mean, I'm sorry for nightsweats, because the night sweats
can last up to hours.
So it'd be really nice coolthat room down.

(10:00):
But again, if the AI isdetecting this change in body
heat, what does that say foryour electricity bill?
So I'm not sure you know ifyou're having night sweats and
they're lasting for hours.
So I think there are somethings to think about and some
challenges they're going to beup against.
The other thing I thought aboutis this is focused on the woman

(10:22):
, and who knows who else issleeping in her bed.
You know, it could be herhusband, it could be a partner,
it could be anybody, and howwill this affect the outcome of
cells when people are coming tothe table and thinking about
buying this?
You know, because there aredifferent body temperatures.

(10:43):
So, anyways, while one isburning up, the other one could
be super cold.
So I'm just curious how all ofthat will be played out and the
outcome of that.
But it'll be really, reallycool to see, because I really
think that this is a great ideaand I would be willing to try it
.
So, anyways, what do you think?
I'm curious about your thoughts.
So, anyways, short, sweet, that's a wrap.

(11:05):
I hope you enjoyed this and, like I said, I'd love to hear
your thoughts.
