For this Moon’s episode, recorded in Tasmania, I talk with Brenna Quinlan and Charlie Mgee about permaculture. We delve into the origins of the permaculture movement, its principles, and its evolution from gardening to broader cultural practices. Brenna shares her journey from fine art to permaculture illustration, while Charlie discusses combining music with permaculture education. Listen in as we explore how permaculture fosters regenerative solutions, supports diverse passions, and builds meaningful connections to nature and community.
You may be wondering why I am in Tasmania. I believe this moment- or really string of moments- are necessary beads for my own Dharmic journey, here with The Wild Temple. I am on a very unique tour, in one way, learning about and helping to promote the Permaculture movement, and in another, supporting Australia’s beloved Gardener (from ABC Australia) Costa, with the launch of his book for children on FLOWERS.
But what I am learning the most about, which I am such a fan of, is community, connection and relationships. How valuable it is to be ‘in the present moment’ with a touch of humor.. and if you happen to have some pocket jokes or stories to share, they go a long way.
The music you hear in the intro and outro is by Formidable Vegetable. Check them out at https://formidablevegetable.com.au/
