The Women of AI
Episode 6 - From Teaching to Entrepreneurship: Liz's Journey in Web Design and AI Exploration
BRIEF SUMMARY OF EPISODE
In Episode 6 of The Women of AI podcast, special guest Elizabeth “Liz” Houston joins host Sharon to talk about her experiences with AI. Liz is an intern for The Women of AI who helps with the membership, the podcast, and other tech tasks.
Liz shares her background, explaining that she recently moved back to the United States after teaching computer science in Taiwan. Feeling burnt out, Liz wanted a change and began exploring web design and virtual assistance for course creators. She eventually found her passion and started offering customized services to clients.
Sharon asks Liz about her transition from being a computer science teacher to an entrepreneur.
Liz admits that she initially had hesitations about AI due to concerns about privacy and data usage, especially in an educational environment. However, she realized that being careful about what she shares and being conscious of how data is used can mitigate these concerns.
When asked about her use of AI in her web designs, Liz mentions using AI for her meal planning and recipe blog, where she uses AI to create meal plans based on allergies, eating plans, and ingredients in the house. She also incorporates Midjourney art into bookmarks for her Etsy store.
