What is the Gospel?

So… what exactly is the Gospel?

If I were to ask a thousand believers, “What exactly is the Gospel?” many of them would hesitate, and smile with some slight embarrassment,  and ask the question right back saying, “I’m not sure, what exactly is the Gospel?” 

I want to see that change.  I want to see every believer to know full well what Jesus did for them on the cross, and what it means to them, so they can walk in the power of the gospel, and in turn bring light into a dark world with the power to change lives.  

Scriptures to read from this episode:

Romans 1:16 (NKJV) 16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.  

Ephesians 2:8 (NKJV) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,  

Romans 5:1-2 (NASB) 1. Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2. through whom also we have obtained our introduction (access) by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult (rejoice) in hope of the glory of God.
