Nursing homes struggled with staffing even before the pandemic -- but jumped to a 23 percent shortage in the USA by the end of 2020. That shortage means resident care can suffer, workers face more stress and COVID cases can spread faster.  St. Marys d'Youville Pavilion was able to continue serving its patients — thanks, in part, to international nurses.  Assistant Administrator Marissa Varney talks about why she was drawn to working in a nursing home and what changes they made during COVID-19 to help both patients and providers.
