What if the way you think about worldliness is completely wrong? In this episode, we promise to transform your understanding with insights from Robert Dean Jr. and Thomas Ice's book, "What the Bible Teaches About Spiritual Warfare." This episode challenges the conventional notion that worldliness is about actions and instead reveals it as a mindset or worldview that conflicts with divine teachings. Get ready to uncover how this pervasive philosophy can rationalize sin and intertwine with false teachings, steering many away from God's truth.

We further dissect the alluring yet destructive nature of worldly desires like the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life. These desires, linked to greed, envy, and arrogance, are portrayed as tools of Satan to foster a self-centered way of living that opposes God's will. Join us from Medellin, Colombia, as we urge you to cultivate God-like thoughts and resist the pull of worldly thinking. This episode promises to enrich your spiritual understanding and challenge you to align your mindset with biblical teachings. Tune in and let this transformative discussion guide you towards a more spiritually grounded life.

Each day.
If you follow me on my blog, which is alignmentministriescom,
and then forward slash fromAustin's pen, or if you're
watching me on Facebook, youknow that I read a lot of books,
and I read wonderful books.
I learn great and wonderfultruths I'm currently reading.

(00:22):
One of the books I'm reading isa book called what the Bible
Teaches About Spiritual Warfare.
It's written by Robert Dean Jrand Thomas Ice and it is a
wonderful book and it has what Iconsider to be the best
explanation of what worldlinessis, and I just want to share
with you what they say.
I'm not smart enough to havethought of this or say this, but

(00:43):
I can read.
The biblical concept ofworldliness has more to do with
a way of thinking, a mindset ora worldview than with particular
actions.
That's powerful.
That's powerful.
We've turned it into the wayyou dress and talk and act.
But it's really more about away of thinking, a mindset, a

(01:05):
worldview.
They later say in the same book, just one page later
worldliness is best understoodas an overall philosophy of life
, a way of thinking that stirsup the flesh to indulge in
specific sins such as sexualimmorality, drunkenness, gossip

(01:27):
or self-righteous arrogance.
Worldliness is a way ofthinking about life that is
contrary to the biblical way ordivine viewpoint.
Worldliness may contain a largeamount of truth.
It is overall makeup andfoundation is divorced from
scriptural authority.
As such, worldliness provides arationale for sin, is often

(01:54):
associated with false teachingthat blind people to the truth
and lead them away from God.
That is powerful.
You should go right now toalignmentministriescom, look up
Austin's pen and read that, andI'm gonna.
I'm gonna, just about memorizethat.
Let me give you the last onethat.

(02:15):
Uh.
Well, I got two more, I guesshere.
Uh, I just want you to catchthe power here.
We should understand worldworldly and worldliness as the
external arrangement ofnon-biblical thinking, or what
we call human viewpoint inchapter two.

(02:36):
Worldliness is an organized andattractive system of ideas,
concepts, attitudes and methodsthat Satan uses to compete with
God's concept of how peopleshould live on planet earth.
Satan is the head andcontroller of this system of
thinking.
Whenever we think like theworld, we are thinking exactly

(02:58):
as Satan wants us to think.
How about this one?
The lust of the eyes isassociated with greed, envy and
covetousness.
The boastful pride of life iscited as a third controlling
factor of this royal system.
It's the arrogant attitude bywhich people think more highly

(03:18):
of themselves than they ought tothink.
It's the ambition to centerone's life on self rather than
on God.
Can I just challenge you to golook those up?
I think that'd be a blessing toyou and I just wanted to
challenge you.
We don't want to be worldly.
We want to have God-likethoughts and not world-like
thoughts.
We want to do what God wants usto do and not what self and sin

(03:40):
wants us to do.
God bless you today fromMedellin, colombia.
