Do you know how powerful it is to see ourselves in stories?
We know that stories can be powerful. One of the most powerful experiences in our journey of self-discovery is the power of seeing ourselves in another's story. That’s why we know it’s so important to get more LGBTQ stories, or Rainbow Stories as we like to call them, out into the world.
When we can identify with the person telling the story or the characters in the story, it validates our own identity. I am not alone. Who I am is accepted.
Seeing ourselves in stories:
Heather Hester and I are thrilled to invite you to participate in our Rainbow Stories Compilation Book. We want to lift up as many diverse voices as possible and bring your stories to the world as we celebrate the beauty and strength in a wide variety of identities.
Whether the story you share is a piece of your coming out or a lesson learned or a celebration of growth, knowing that the story you share can change the trajectory - or even save - another's life is both humbling and an extraordinary opportunity.
We want to shatter the fear, especially the fear of the unknown, by bringing your beauty into the light. There are so many who need to hear what you have to say - and perhaps even more importantly, need to see themselves in what you share.
