(00:00):
Hey everybody.
Welcome to The Writing Glitch.
I'm Cheri Dotterer, your host hereon The Writing Glitch, where we have
been looking at dysgraphia relatedprograms through the dyslexia courses
that are out there over the past year.
I began the year with learningwithout tears, talking a little bit

(00:24):
about their handwriting program.
we've had a dyslexiatherapist on Casey Harrison.
And she gave us some goodexpert tips about writing.
So if you wanna go back andlook at her episode, it was
season three, episode five.

(00:44):
Then Nessie came on and they,we did two episodes with them.
One was an interview with thefounder's son, and then I did a
product review of their softwarethat they have available and.
That was episode six of this season.

(01:06):
What did I learn from those two episodes?
First of all, Casey does have someamazing tips to help you with your
dyslexia and dysgraphia and howthey link together with learning.
Nessi has a great software to help kidslearn about letter and word formation.

(01:29):
I.
Then Kirk Lundy was on episode 10, and heshared some insights into how respiratory
conditions influenced the classroom.
Kelli Fetter came on to episode 12and she talked a little bit about her

(01:50):
tutoring program and how handwriting does.
Truly shape a kid'sachievement availability.
Beth Moskowitz came on in episode 13talking a little bit about talking
a little bit about the Size Mattershandwriting program and how it came

(02:13):
to be, and we did a product reviewof one of her programs as well.
Jen Porter is a. Autism teacher andshe came on and talked a little bit
about IEPs and we actually took a stepby step line by line item through an

(02:35):
IEP talking about some of the littleidiosyncrasies that may influence
your student as a dysgraphic person.
Then we had Lindsay Ball come on, andshe talked about erla stainless syndrome.
And how it affected her life and some ofthe research that's happening right now.

(02:58):
She was in episode 11, Play.
Roly came on and talked alittle bit about their program.
What I love about their program is it'sfree for parents or teachers of anyone
who has kids in that preschool era.
And you'll get a series ofemails that link to the program.

(03:20):
It is fantastic.
Rachel Specter came on andtalked a little bit about how
to get a program research based.
And what are some of the tools that youneed to do to get a pro program approved?
So if you have a program thatyou've been working on check

(03:41):
out Rachel's episode this year.
The Writing Revolution was on episode24, and Christine talked about their
book, and then we did a little review ofher book of, it's not her book, we did
a review of the Writing Revolution book.
And what is new for 2024.

(04:04):
I must say that was probably themost comprehensive program I saw
in explaining sentence structureand paragraph structure ever.
It was amazing.
Crafting Minds has a dur littleprogram with these two dueling guys
who are talking about improving.

(04:25):
Reading and early writing skills.
Then we had Marian come on and MarianWalman, and she was talking about
how she has created a non-profitfor getting support into the
library system about dyslexia andwants to also include information

(04:46):
for them on dysgraphia as well.
And then we concluded the yearwith our hundredth episode of.
The GOW school and that was createdby the gentleman, by the name
of GOW and back in the early 19hundreds and where it is today.
And we had their current head of schoolon Mr. Munro talking a lot about what

(05:10):
is happening with the school today.
Then we had this series where TheresaRodriguez, one of my students,
came on and was talking aboutHandwritiing Brain-Body DisConnect
and she did a book study goingthrough it and we took excerpts
from her book study and put it up
on the podcast.

(05:31):
So what a year in review?
I didn't realize that we hit ahundred episodes until I got a
notification from my podcast platform.
It was like, wow.
A hundred episodes already.
It just seems like I started this podcast.
So what have I learned By doing apodcast, you can shortchange yourself

(05:56):
by not going through and makingsure all the details are in place.
I've done this podcast for thelast three seasons, virtually
out of my own pocket, and.
Either this podcast has tochange the next school year or

(06:17):
it won't be happening anymore.
So right now I am trying todecide what I'm going to do
with the podcast moving forward.
I think I have an ideaof where to go with it.
But if you have anything thatyou'd like me to talk about on
the podcast, now is your time tosend me a message and let me know.

(06:39):
What it is that you are missing fromthis, The Writing Glitch podcast,
and
I have four or five more episodes that Iam going to be sharing with you, but it
all depends on your feedback as to whathappens in the 20 25, 20 26 school year.

(07:05):
So I look forward to.
I'm continuing this podcast, but at thispoint I have to make a financial decision
as to, do I keep doing it or is it met?
Its end here at the a hundredand month episode and the
next few that are coming up.

(07:26):
If you are enjoying this podcast, subscribe, send me a comment or a review.
Next week look for video on aproject that I've been working on.
Let me know.

(07:47):
You go be awesome.
Go be brilliant.
You were put here for such a time as this.
