Speaker 1 (00:02):
This is WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre, and you're listening to
the WWE podcast, the.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Show, the one that everybody wants me god st three sixteen.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
So I just led your ass is my arm? You
can acknowledge me?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Oh wait, he's back, Yeah, the Final Boss. He has returned.
I have been proven wrong. Even though there were a
lot of rumors leading up to Bad Blood that The
Rock was in Atlanta and that he was going to
make an appearance, I was wrong. I had assumed it
was gonna be much later, Survivors series even rumble. But

(00:57):
here we are. The Rock is back, The Final Boss
is back, and I have to ask one question. Is
he really a heel? Is the Rock really a heel?
I would argue he's getting a bigger pop in his
quote unquote heel character than he is if he was
in his jumpsuit and typical rock return format. I think

(01:21):
this is the best rock that we've ever seen. It's
a hybrid version but also updated, and we've got a
lot of backstage stuff that was said after Bad Blood
went off the air. He still doesn't like Cody. He
even spoke to I guess I use air quotes on
that to a image of Stone Cold Steve Austin's face

(01:43):
on the side of a production truck. Take that for
what you will. I think we finally pun intended maybe
getting a Stone Cold stunner at WrestleMania that was long
overdue last year. This year. Even Stone Cold Steve Austin
himself said that last year it was because of an
issue with him and his wife or something, that it

(02:05):
was a bunch of nonsense. It came over money. He
didn't want to say it's on money, because it just
looks bad when you say it's about money. But it
was about money. I don't really care as long as
we get this moment, and I think we finally will
get that stunner on the Rocky Wressel Madia forty one,
that's my guess. It's the only place that could happen.
But in the immediate future, before we get to that

(02:26):
stunner at forty one, we had him still run down
Cody Rhades backstage. He's being very much the final Boss character,
the one that we all love. That music, that hybrid
music that we have is still just awesome. A throwback
to two thousand and three when he was a heel
and still but also updated still kind of that rock

(02:49):
music that we've all known and loved for the past
twenty years, and him holding the belt that Muhammad Ali's
wife gave him and he's back. So what does this mean?
What does this mean? Well? I think it could mean
that he's going right after Cody Roads right away, and
then Roman has to figure out where his loyalties lie.

(03:10):
Because let's be honest, Roman Reigns and Cody Roads are
not friends. They are not friends. I don't want them
pretending to be friends. So if the story is where
does Roman's loyalties lie, well, it should lie with the family,
it should lie with the rock right because what the
hell does Cody Roads have to do with anything? Now,

(03:32):
Cody and Roman were successful last night. Now Roman did
help Cody along with returning Jimmy us who is getting
completely overshadowed here that Jimmy USO returned in a big
pop So he's the first piece of the puzzle that
many of us expected to be the case and where
you're getting it here. So they're building to a what

(03:54):
do we have seven seven weeks until Survivor series so
Jay could come in towards the end of surviv towards
the end of the fold. Here, he doesn't have to
do it right away. He's got his own thing going
on with the Icy title on Raw and we'll see
where that leads. If he drops it, if he keeps
it during the reuniting with Jimmy, we'll see. But right now,

(04:15):
Jimmy has been the first piece of the puzzle introduced
back into the fold for the og bloodline. Paul Hammon
has not yet returned. I thought he would be. I
thought it would be a two for one special with Jimmy,
but it's not. And that's okay. That's okay. I think
Paul Hamman is going to be another massive piece to return,
and probably the next piece to return, I would think

(04:35):
before Jimmy does, or rather Jay. I'm sorry, so Jay
is now the backup to Roman. The question is where
does the Rocks loyalties lie with Solo and with Roman?
How does he navigate these waters? But also coming after
the Undisputed Championship, as he promised the night after WrestleMania

(04:55):
to Cody Rhodes, remember when they had the stare off
and they exchange belts with one another and the Rock said,
this feels right. We all knew that upon Rock's return,
Cody Roads would be would be in fact challenged by
the Rock. But is it right away? Do they wait?
Is it at Crown Jewel? At this point, anything is possible.

(05:19):
I think Crown Jewel would be a horrific place to
do it, and in fact, it actually can't be done
at Crown Jewel, I correct myself because Triple H came
out during the show to a massive ovation and he
introduced at least a pretend championship, at least something that
is not just totally exhibition where it's just pride on

(05:40):
the line, where the WWE Universal Champion or I'm sorry,
undisputed Champion is going to take on the World Heavyweight Champion,
which as it stands right now, would be Cody Roads
versus Gunther, which I have no problem with. In fact,
if you look back at the Royal Rumble two years ago,
Cody and gun there were the last two in the Rumble,
and they have a little bit of history they can

(06:01):
pull from there. So they're going to have an amazing
match and I fully expect, probably probably Gunther to win
that championship, the Crown Jewel Championship, which again I have
mixed feelings on On one hand, that championship that Triple
H introduced is actually something for them to fight for.

(06:24):
I have said forever that it makes no sense that
nothing's on the line, that they do these exhibition matches
for no reason, and Triple H is giving us something,
and I appreciate that versus nothing, or even worse, having
a championship on the line, because then you'd have a
unification and it just gets messy. There's no need to
do that with a brand split. So this is really

(06:44):
the middle of the road option where you have them
competing for something, even though it's made up out of
thin air. So I appreciate it. This is really the
only thing they can do because you can't award them
a title shot, they're already the champions. You can't have
them compete for each other's championship because you have a
brand split. So what do you do? Well, you make

(07:05):
up something. So the question is whoever wins this, which
I assume is going to be gun theer because the
Rock may interfere. First of all, who cares about that championship?
Nobody right it's and who wants to be the champion
of a pl that has been critically panned by a
lot of the audience that's not in Saudi Arabia. I mean,

(07:26):
these Saudi shows are some of the most even you
hear the crowd boo. You heard the crowd boo, because
they're like, yeah, no one cares a lot of every
pl to create a championship for you're gonna create one
for a Crown Jewel, you know. But I don't blame
Triple AH for doing it. I'm sure they're self aware
enough to understand that a lot of fans have a
lot of negative, negative motions towards Crown Jewel because of

(07:49):
everything that Saudi Arabia stands for and the blood money
scandal and a lot of cultural and political issues with
Saudi Arabia which are just fact and I don't want
to go through them chapter and verse here, just there's
a lot of issues with women specifically in the country.
But moving on, they wwe Triple H created a championship

(08:12):
here and again, you're creating a championship for a pl
that no one wants to be champion of, much less
even be involved with. I'm sure you know, like a
lot of the talent are kind of hanging their heads like, well,
I'm getting a good paycheck. I'll go. Also, when Gunther
wins this, if he does, is he going to carry
this around too? Are we going to Are we supposed
to care that this is a thing that he's going
to defend. How does he defend it? I would hope

(08:34):
that it's just something he holds up at the pl
pretends that we're all supposed to pretend that it's something
prestigious and valuable that he won, which is essentially a
prop means nothing. In fact, I think it's a detriment
to championships. But I would hope after that, after we
get the photo op and the picture that goes on
w dot com and all that, that he just either
tosses it in the garbage or he just puts it

(08:57):
on a mantle in his home and we all forget
about it and never talk about it again until next year,
where he'll defend it or he doesn't. I mean, And
also if he doesn't defend it next year, there's just
gonna be infinite number of champions that are the the
champion of Crown Jewel, because you can't defend it if
you're not the champion. It's kind of weird to say
it sounds like I'm complaining. I'm just giving you the

(09:18):
reality of how most fans view this event at Crown Jewel,
which is not in a bright light. And I think
that it's Triple H Triple AH is doing something and
it's so it sounds like a complaint, but it's really not,
because there's no other option here other than leaving things
as they were and having them compete for nothing but pride,
which is you know, that's an option. But anyway, so

(09:43):
we have a championship no one's gonna care about in
the Crown Jewel Championship, which the belt looks fine. I
don't have any issues with it, I guess, and you know,
it is what it is, and it'll be Cody versus Gunther.
The Rock will probably interfere, you know, and then we'll
be off to the races here with finally getting into

(10:04):
Survivor Series, which I think at that point after I
think Jay, if we're gonna make these big puzzle pieces
come back at big events, I think Jay is probably
slated to come back at Crown Jewel to help his brother.
He may be competing in a championship defense at Crown
Jewel or on a you know, maybe even on a

(10:26):
raw after that because or before that, because WWE has
no issue with I mean, hell, there's a World Championship
match against with Guntherer and Sammy's Ain on Raw tomorrow night,
so there is that, and so they could easily do
this off of the pl which is fine, and having
Ja come back I think at that event to complete

(10:47):
part two of the reuniting of the bloodline is going
to be a lot of fun. And again, maybe Sammy's
Ain after the Intercontinental or I'm sorry, after the loss
to Gunther is the final piece to be brought into
the Fold four Survivor series, which I fully expect when
it comes to the Wargames match, So that's probably how
it happens. Jay is the next piece after Jimmy and

(11:09):
Roman maybe get beat down and here comes Jay and
the crowd is going to lose it. So how else
or how was the rest of the event beyond the
Big Rock return, which the biggest pop I've heard in
a while. And you know, we shouldn't even discount that
match because it was a very well done, very kind

(11:30):
of very strategically done match, one that saw everybody work
as expected once again protecting Jacob Fatu was important as solo.
Sokoa takes the pinfall here, which I have no issue
with because if they're trying to build Jacob Fatu and
they have done a nice job here, you don't want
him taking the pinfall. He can now still claim he's undefeated.

(11:52):
He was part of a team that lost, but he
wasn't the one that took the fall. So that's his out.
And the interesting piece is where does the rock lane?
And I mean, that's going to be the key to
building this whole thing. And the more that I look
at this, I'll just this is my final piece on
this and then I'll move on to something else. There's
a lot more to talk about here on the show.

(12:13):
With the Rock coming back so early in the year,
I really didn't expect it to be this early. That
leads me to believe that it's not going to be
Rock versus Cody at WrestleMania forty one, because you can't
build this for six months, all right. You may say, well,
they built drew in Punk for six months. Well they
had to, they had. Punk was injured for four out

(12:33):
of those, well really eight months, nine months, ten months,
whatever it was. Punk was injured for nearly half of
that time, and they did a nice job of kind
of piecing it over time, and they had three matches,
and we'll get to that match, which I really loved.
But in the case of Cody and Rock, he can't
build it over this much time from now until mid April.

(12:56):
That's November, December, January, very March. It's six months half.
They're not going to do that. So that gives me
a bit of encouragement here that it's not going to
be Rock Cody at WrestleMania forty one, which I personally
don't think is the biggest match. In fact, a lot
of the ratings are down with Cody as champion, not

(13:17):
all his fault, but generally the ratings are not good
with Cody as champion. You can go look at them yourself,
and am I blaming that all on Cody. No, But
it's never good when the ratings dip, even if it's
not your fault. It's just kind of the cyclical part
of the year. It's never good when you're champion and
the ratings drop and they drop consistently, it's not good.
So we'll see what happens here, But there's a very

(13:39):
good possibility that the Rock becomes champion. Very good possibility
that the Rock becomes champion when he faces Cody Roads.
Now the question is if he's not facing him at WrestleMania.
Two questions out of that, who is going to face
Rock at WrestleMania, And does the Rock win the championship
when he faces Cody and where does that happen? So
my best guess is that the Rock versus Cody Rhads

(14:04):
matchup happens at Survivor Series. I don't need the Wargames
match being the main event. It can be, but it
doesn't have to be. I think Survivor Series is where
you go with the Rock versus Cody Roads for the championship,
and then you go into the Rumble. I mean, I
guess you could do it at the Rumble, but that's
still the ways away. I mean, guys, it is early
October here, and the Rumble this year, by the way,

(14:26):
is February first. I don't even know the last time
the Rumbles in February. It feels like a some kind
of sacrilegious date here. It doesn't feel right with my
soul that the Rumbles not in January, but it's February first,
So we got a hell of a long time four
months until the Rumbles, so I don't think they can
build it there. I think the best way not at

(14:46):
Crown Jewel, although they could. I think it is much
more suited for a Survivor Series match where the og
Bloodline goes against the Rogue Bloodline and in the main
event until the Rock versus Cody Rhoads at Survivor Series
leading with wres Wrestle any implications. So does the Rock
win there? Yeah, I think he could. And then Rowan
Rains is competing in this year's Royal Rumble. That's been

(15:07):
reported already. He's competing in the Rumble for the first
time in like four or five years because he was
champion for all of it and the wrong sorry Roman
Rains could win the Rumble. In fact, he's an early
favorite right now to win the Rumble and then go
on to WRESTLEMANI to face the Rock where Cody Roads.
I don't know what he does, Okay, I don't know,
Probably Randy Orton. How about that Randy Orton versus Cody

(15:30):
Roads for WrestleMania forty one that I think is an
early early call. Okay, So I'll stop it there. We
could go on and on. We're now back into the bloodline,
Spiderweb of possibility discussion that has led that led up
to WrestleMania for months. It was pretty straightforward. Since then,
we've kind of understood how they're going to bring people

(15:50):
back and what the wrestle or the Survivors Series main
event is going to be. And now halfway through, we're
halfway to next year's WrestleMania already we can now start
to talk about Wrestling forty one and all the Spider
Web of possibilities and rabbit hole possibilities. It's gonna be fun.
So well anyway, for that being said, all that being said,
I want to welcome you to the WWE podcast. Thank

(16:11):
you everybody for being here as we break down bad
Blood that took place last night. I got a little
bit of comments in on Twitter on x not a ton.
I was in bed and we had some people over,
some kids over, and trying to watch the show and
trying to tweet at the same time is a bit
of an impossibility, So I apologize for that. But I
hope everybody who was in the discord server had a
lot of fun. My senses that you did. I popped

(16:34):
in there really quick to see what was happening, and
the discussions always very lively in the discord chat over
on Patreon, which if you want to join patreon dot com,
slash WWE podcast is the way to go because you
get everything add free, a one week free trial, a
Discord server, and a lot of other perks, including a
new after dark show that will be on the way.

(16:54):
As we're in the works with the new co host
or co hosts, I may end up doing more than
one co host to keep things fresh, so all right, Well,
on that note, last quickly, I want to welcome some
new people to the ww podcast fold Andy, Andy P.
Gabriel s John A, John Adams. I think that's what

(17:15):
it was, although anyway, Andy, Gabriel, John as well as
uh do a d u y y do you do
you want a gaming Welcome to the podcast. Carrie B.
Thank you for joining us, and Steve M. Thank you

(17:36):
everybody for joining us over the weekend here for bad
Blood and if you like our content, continue to join us.
I hope that you enjoy everything that we have and
a lot more to come, especially as we roll already
into WrestleMania season, which is to me for my you know,
for my estimation. I know it all officially starts out
the Rumble, but in all, for all intentsive purposes, it

(17:58):
starts unofficially at Survivors Series because a lot of stuff
happens at Survivor Series that leads into WrestleMania season. So
let's get into the rest of the show here. As
we had the hosts, which were just as bad as
you'd expect, and I hate to say that about especially Bianca,
so let's get a little a little bit of the
negativity out of the way. But overall, I thought it

(18:19):
was a really good show. We had Bianca bel Air
and Jade Cargill, who are Women's Champion women's tag team champions,
that we're doing nothing other than sitting in the VIP
lounge and making stupid comments and saying really nothing of
any substance and standing at the bar and doing her
little poses and phrases, and Jade of course, has nothing,

(18:42):
really did much of anything to say, and really I
need Bianca out of this now. I'm screaming this from
the rooftops. Please get Bianca out of this. Please. She
is a top tier talent that you've sacrificed now too
long at the behest of trying to get Jade over,
and I appreciate that, but like, there has to come

(19:03):
a point where it's enough is enough, and I think
we're at that point. I'm not saying Jade is gonna fail,
but we're gonna find out. It's time to see if
she will. She's a grown woman and it's time to
see if she can swim or sink. All right, let's go.
I'm done with the whole team because I am I
hate seeing Bianca and I hate that I hate seeing her,

(19:26):
if that makes sense. When I see her, I hate
myself for hating that. I'm that I don't like watching
her because we're getting the worst version of Bianca in
this obnoxious, mean girl, just just really the worst version
of Bianca. You guys know what I'm I can't really
quite eloquent eloquently put it into words, but you know

(19:47):
what I mean. And I think that the fans are
kind of done with it too, as we just anyway,
So they were hosts. Peter Rosenberg was in and out
of there too, and we had some other big stars
and there DDP I guess was there and some others.
You know, a lot of cameo appearances from stars too.
Arn Anderson was in the crowd. We had Goldberg. We'll

(20:10):
get to that with Gunther which was just an A
plus segment. Gunther continues to just elevate himself into legendary status.
I will get to that. Who else, So Jacqueline was there,
Mickey James was there. That was a lot of fun.
Booker t was there. A lot of big names, a
lot of big names, which was a lot of fun

(20:31):
to see. And I enjoyed the hell out of that
seeing the stars there and seeing them there, which you
never saw on any really any pl e. They made
this ple feel big because of the star power. Even
if it's the stars of Yesteryear, I don't care. Having
them in the crowd made all the sense in the world,
made this the the event feel bigger. The one thing
I'll say generally about the crowd, I wasn't very impressed

(20:53):
with the crowd. Now, I'm not comparing them to the
overseas crowds, Okay, I have had my issues with overseas crowds.
You guys know, because they're louder, but loud for loud's
sake and their own They've got their own agenda. They
supersede anything that's going on in the ring for their
own sports. Chance that they just literally chant for three
and a half hours, which is obnoxious. As a fan

(21:15):
from the United States, I probably speak for many of
us here in saying that it's you know, when you
hear the same chance and songs over and over, you know,
it sounds like you're watching a soccer game overseas that
you have no interest in. It sounded like that for
a lot of the events. And I don't care how
many decibels. I don't care if they broke the decibel meter.

(21:37):
The volume is not just a upward graph, like if
there's a satisfaction graph here on the X axis and
on the y axis, it's decibels. It's not a straight
line of more decibels equals, you know, more satisfaction of
watching the show, because it depends on what they're reacting to.
If they're just reacting for reacting sake, I really have

(21:59):
an issue that. But I have to say not comparing
them to the overseas crowds because they are different breed.
Comparing them simply to just typically United States crowds, I
wasn't impressed. They were quiet for a lot of it.
Even during the CM Punk entrance, I don't know what
it was. They sang along a bit, but it wasn't
like an overwhelming reaction for Punk and they were the

(22:22):
first match out. They were the first match out, and
the reaction for Punk was I don't know. I expected
much louder then it wasn't. The crowd wasn't dead. But
I guess my expectations for a event like this in
a big city are higher, even if you're in the

(22:42):
United States. I have a bigger expectation in Atlanta. I
think fell short a little bit. And again, they weren't terrible.
They were just at times I'm like, are you guys still? Hello?
You guys there? I wanted to like wake them up,
like tap them on the shoulder, like hey, hey, hey,
you see what's going on here? Can you guys react
little bit? That's what it felt like, not for the
whole show, but just certain moments I wanted to just,

(23:06):
you know, wake them up. Anyway, So now that I've
endeared everyone to, you know, to the city of Atlanta,
and I've endeared myself to them, let's talk about the
first match here, which was Drew and Cumpunk really like
this match. I mean, I've got nothing negative to say,
and you guys know, if there is something negative, I'll

(23:27):
certainly bring it to your Attgit, I have nothing. Was
it a five star? No, it wasn't. But everyone defines
five star differently. I don't need a five star match
being you know, the typical NXT matchups that a lot
of people point to to mean to me, gymnastics maximizing
gymnastic ability in a pro wrestling match is not a

(23:49):
five star match. I know. That's how nowadays most people
define five star. I don't. I'm more about story. I'm
more about pacing, more about stories within stories in the
match and promos and things. I guess in my old
age here of nearly forty, I'm a little more old
school when it comes to that. I'm not about the
gymnastics part of pro wrestling because that results inherently in

(24:11):
a lot of under selling and more of just cool moves.
Don't tell Ricochet that he'll probably you know, wet himself.
But I thought this match was really good, you know,
from the beginning, the pacing, the staring. They didn't they
didn't go one hundred miles an hour, which I really
appreciate in today's environment. I think it was a well

(24:32):
done psychological match. That really has been the main driver
for this whole thing is the hatred for one another,
how long this has gone on, how it's affect their
personal lives, and it's they just did a stellar, stellar job.
From a in ring psychology standpoint. The bumps they took
were I mean, both men, both men absolutely must be

(24:57):
waken up today in the first thing they're thinking it is,
oh my god, right, that's the first thing they're thinking
in their minds because their bodies were punished, both men,
especially that. I mean a couple of bumps that punk
took were brutal. I mean some of the table bumps.
I don't ever find table bumps brutal, and even the
wrestlers themselves have said it's not because it may look

(25:19):
fun visually, but the table takes a lot of your fall,
so the table bumps are never really that big of
a I take a physical toll as much as the
other ones do. But that one bump that McIntyre took
where he missed the clay more and landed diagonally on
the edge of the ring steps in the ring, oh
my God. I mean, you talk about a bump that

(25:42):
you look at and go, oh crap. You know you're
waiting for the X sign. You know. Even the referee
goes back quickly when he saw that, and he made
sure that you know that Drew was squeezing his hand.
You know, that's obviously the one. The big thing they
do is have the wrestler squeezed the hand of the
referee to let them know they're okay. And that's what

(26:04):
the first thing the referee did, which he should and
it was well done. And I thought that that one
scared me. But they didn't go outside the hell in
a cell, which I appreciate too. I appreciate they didn't
go outside the cell because not every hell and a
cell needs to have a bump off the top of
the cell to be good. It also defeats the purpose
of what the cell is meant for, which is to

(26:25):
keep both competitors in the ring. So you can have
that occasionally happen, but I don't need it all the time.
So we had that, we had tools being used from
a toolbox. We had a shot to the head that
was pretty brutal from the tool box on Drew that
busted him open. We had some wrenches being used on

(26:48):
the skull of both Punk and Drew. Punk got busted
open as well as we all expected. We had the
moment where Punk said that Drew was going to bow
to or pray to him him, and he looked like
he was going to and then gave Punk a low blow,
which is very Drew esque. And it made sense given
the story that we had of Drew being low blowed

(27:12):
by Punk several times to cost him. The cost him
a championship, So it made total sense to me that
that happened, and it was. It was a lot of fun.
I will say the one spot that he had where
Drew brought out the little beads that were in the bag,
I thought were thumbtacks. I'm thinking of sitting there going, oh,

(27:34):
here we go thumbtacks. That I was going to make
the call that they were going to bring him out,
and I said, no, that's not quite it's still a
little too much these days, and they didn't. It was
just the beads, So I was a little disappointed that
was it was the beads. But yeah, first of all,
where did he get all those and he shoved them
in the mouth of Drew, and it was very very

(27:55):
much a poetic justice and the knee wrapped in the
chain that ended the match with the g That was
a fun ending to the show. Landing on the beads
though we're probably in some ways more painful than thumbtacks,
because I mean, think about when you step on one
of your kid's toys, or you know, any of the
beads that are little toys they have around the house.

(28:17):
If you do have kids, hurts like hell, imagine being
tossed on it, thrown as hard as you can on it.
Who I mean that had actually hurt. So that was
still kind of a weird spot, but I understood it,
and so just a really really fun match. I actually
was waiting for a pile driver. I thought for some reason,

(28:40):
I said, you know what, what if they bring back
just a pile driver for one night? Here a pile
driver on the steps, which would have been a callback
to what Shawn Michaels did to the Undertaker at ninety
seven in Helen to Sell there was a spot of
a pile driver on the steel steps. They didn't, and
I'm not angry about it, but I thought, for a minute, hmm,
what about a pile driver just for one spot and

(29:02):
they didn't again, fine, but it was just a well
done match, very well done. The rivalry is over. Punk wins.
Punk wins clean, no help from anyone outside, and he
moves on. And as I've said in the previews show,
I think what moving on for Punk means is Gunther.

(29:22):
Now he can't exactly challenge him right away because Punk
is a rather Gunther is going to be facing Cody
Rhodes at the Crown Jewel event in four weeks. See,
can't have Gunther and Punk right away. That may be
saved for Survivor series. And that's fine with me because

(29:43):
we all know Sammy's ain isn't look he's not winning.
He is not winning on Monday. No, please, don't even
get out of your heads. There's no reason for it.
Sammy's ain't ain't winning. But it'll be fun. That's all
that needs there. That's all there needs to be is
just a fun match that you even have a moment
of oh wait wait wait wait wait wait, no, no,

(30:04):
I ain't never mind. That's what it's going to be.
So to me, that's where Punk's headed in. You know what,
we may not see Punk for a month. I don't
mind if Punk takes a month off. Punk can just
you know, live in highlights for the next few weeks
as they review bad Blood for you know, at least
two weeks. They hang onto those highlights a lot, especially WrestleMania.

(30:24):
It feels like we watched WrestleMania review highlights for like
four months, you know. But we do have a I think,
a big pause from Punk and he'll be back when
Survivor Series season kicks off in a month. That's my guess,
because what's he doing for the next month, I don't know,

(30:44):
cutting promos on who and what. You know. It also
gives time for Punk's body to heal, and I think
at that age he needs it. Hopefully he's not injured.
I haven't heard anything that he's injured, so let's hope
that he's not, and he gets a month to just
recoup charge and be back for Survivor Series against Gunther.
So also didn't triple h I don't mean to go back,

(31:07):
but I have a flashback in my mind that he's
calling this a new era, A new era again is
beginning at Crown Jewel. Did he actually say that about
those that imaginary championship. It's a little overdone for a
championship that inherently is tainted in just negativity from fans

(31:29):
and everything that fans talk about with the issues with
Saudi Arabia. It's just a bad that that's that's that's
clearly not the case. A complete over exaggeration of what
those CHET championships gonna mean, which is nothing. It's gonna
mean nothing. So okay, let's go on to Bailey and
Naya Jacks. Exactly what you expect here, slower paced, and

(31:54):
Bailey fought valiantly. She you know, she did have a
mom home or you thought she might win. Tiffany Stratton
comes in, distracts both women, nearly cost Nya Jax the match,
but Nya does get the victory and you're thinking, oh
my god, she's going to cash in. She doesn't. Tiffany

(32:17):
is not in the good graces of Naya, even though
Nya retained, So, you know, you do wonder. I thought
for sure Charlotte Flair was coming out here. I am
done predicting Charlotte Flair's return. I mean, did she have
her leg amputated and she's working on a prosthetic? Is
that what happened. I didn't think her knee injury was
that serious. Perhaps they just don't have anything for her

(32:38):
right now. But if she's still recovering at this point,
I truly believe she had her leg amputated and she's
learning how to wrestle with a prosthetic, because I don't
know how she even is taking this long if it's
truly that she's not ready and that they don't have
anything for her. But I don't really have much to
say about this. Nya Jack's winning makes sense. No one

(33:01):
in their right mind expected Bailey to win. Naya is
just getting going as champion. The dynamic of when Tiffany's
cashing in, is she not cashing in, is who's going
to turn on who? All of that can play itself out.
I mean, I know a lot of people were thinking
Tiffany Stratton was going to cash in. There's no need
to rush it, no need to rush it. Nya just
became champion a couple months ago. We're just learning who

(33:22):
and what she is as champion. And you have, of course,
uh you know Tiffany Stratton, who's on the up and coming,
and you need to get a little bit more behind her.
A little bit more body of work behind her before
you have her cash in, and you know, I think
there's there's more story to tell there. There's no need

(33:43):
to rush a championship change just to cash in and
shock people. All right, Now you have Rhea and Live
and this match. It was good. It was a little
more evenly matched than you'd expect given the size difference
between these two. Dominic in the in the shark cage,
I thought he was suspended above the ring. He was suspended.

(34:03):
He was suspended on the side of the ring. And
he played up being afraid of heights and all that,
and we had Rhea taunting him, and he fell from
the shark cage, but he was tied in with the
chain that was there, and boy, he had a lot
of faith in that chain. But Ria then took what
was it a kendo stick to him, got a little revenge,

(34:27):
and Ria was winning, She was about to win. Here
comes Raquel Rodriguez, who really botched that finish. It was weird,
weird finished. Crowd didn't react really strongly to Raquel. I
think that'll change as time goes on, because she was
certainly not suited to be a babyface. She much more
is a heel, and Ria has now somebody comparable in
size that she can work with, which is going to

(34:49):
be the big threat to Rhea, and Live likely moves
on here. But does she move on? I mean, we
could easily see Ria team Ria Versus Team Live at
Survivors Series and the women's version of the War Games match,
and Raquel clearly is going to be on Live side,
So that's gonna you know, that's probably where they go

(35:10):
while I thought this program was ending, they do need
a women's version of the match here for Survivors Series,
and it's probably gonna be Team Ria versus Team Live,
and Raquel will get more of a reaction as she
moves on, cuts more promos and explains herself a little more.
And I think that's where they're going now live or
I'm sorry, Raquel did kind of botch the finish as

(35:32):
she didn't hit the best to hot a bomb ever
on Ria, and then she threw Live on Rhea as
it was already a disqualification. I don't know if, I mean,
she clearly screwed up. You even to see the frustration
in her face, and Michael Cole tried to cover for her, saying, well,
this is symbolic. It was a good cover by Cole.
That's his job. But I think that that should have

(35:54):
been a cover. It shouldn't have been a disqualification that.
I think Raquel did the right thing, that that should
have been the right finish. Clearly it wasn't. They went
with the DQ, so maybe there's just a mix up
here and her I guess her instinct was to have
Live cover Rhea and get the one two three. That's
not what happened. I think that would have been a
better finish because then Live could say she actually beat

(36:16):
Ria instead of by DQ. So for me, Raquel's return
was a sloppy one, but it was the right one.
It's she's in the right role now and Rhea having
the threat of someone her size is going to be
the story as Live continues to mouth off, but she

(36:37):
has somebody that is essentially acting as her bodyguard that
she can you know that she can mouth off and
be protected. So the story doesn't seem like it's over,
and it probably won't be over until Survivor series likely,
so strap in. We're not done by a long shot
with Rhea n Live and now Raquel's the new ingredient.

(36:59):
Added here. So, but it's good to see Raquel back.
I know she was going through a disease, I forget
the name of it, some some crazy skin disease that
she had. And obviously she seems to be much in
a much better place from a health standpoints. That's good,
all right. What else happened on this p l E. Well,

(37:21):
we had Gunther. We had Gunther come out and he
starts just I mean, oh my gosh. After Triple H
introduced these championships, Gunther comes out and he had he
you know, he starts running down Goldberg. He says, he
points out Goldberg in the crowd, and he wanted to
confess to Goldberg that, you know, he didn't actually think

(37:44):
he didn't actually feel that Goldberg was a hero of his.
He was just you know, trying to anger Brett Hart
or whatever. And then he turned to his son. And
when he turned to Goldberg's son, Gauge I think is
his name, and said that he hopes that, uh, that
Goldberg is a better father than he was. It was

(38:04):
a pro wrestler and the fact that Goldberg is a
one trick pony, which is exactly right. That is what
God Goldberg all riled up. I thought, I thought for sure,
being in Atlanta, the history of Atlanta with Goldberg and
that's where he's from and all, you know, all the
moments he hadn't in Atlanta, especially in WCW. I figured, okay,
we're getting a spear here, and they didn't. The security

(38:25):
held him back. People were channing Goldberg though. People were
all over Goldberg there in a good way, channing for him.
He got on the ring ropes after Guntherro was taken away,
and yes, Sammy's ain got involved and ended up getting
a few knocks in on Gunther, but no one really
cared to see Sammy. I mean, people were like, oh, yay,

(38:45):
Sammy's here. Cool, But what about the spear? That's what
it felt like. It's a thanks Sammy, Can we throw
gun through in the ring so Goldberg can spire him?
That's what I think a lot of the fans were
thinking and wanted, but they didn't get it. And you
know what, I actually don't have a problem with that.
Number One, You guys know I'm not the biggest Goldberg fan.

(39:05):
I just you know, I take him or leave him
doesn't do anything for me really, But I think that's
good to not make your world champion look like a
fool by getting speared by a guy that hasn't had
a match in how many years in w That makes sense.
And also you don't want to build to Goldberg versus Gunther.
Please tell me that that's not what we're doing. I

(39:26):
don't need Goldberg Gunther. I'm okay, Goldberg can sit ringside.
I don't mind. Here's what I will say. If Goldberg
wants to come out and hit a spirit like if
he gets antagonized again and on a heel, that's not
your world champion and he wants to hit a spear
or two to make the crowd happy, I have at it.
You know, it's WrestleMania, it's rumble. Whatever. You want to

(39:47):
make a cameo appearance on the rumble like whatever. But
I don't want to fall on run by Goldberg. I
don't need him in any championship matches or making any
of our champions look like fools. That's what I don't want.
All right, we'll see. I hope this is not the
start of something with Gunther and Goldberg. I just I
don't think it is. If Vince were in charge, I

(40:07):
would say yes. But in this case. I don't think
that that's the case here. But Gunther is just he
says he's a he's a legend in the making or something.
I'm sitting there thinking to myself, Hey, dude, like you
are a legend right now. Gunther is just his look.
He's refined his look with his suits. He's a good
looking dude too. He's a sharp looking dude. You know,

(40:29):
he's got it all together. He's got his his promos
continue to improve. That's the part that most people aren't
talking about is just how good he now is on
the microphone. Does he have a few flubs, Yeah, sure,
everybody does, but they're getting less and less. He understands
his character. He knows how to make you laugh but
also tell the truth and also remain a heel. So

(40:52):
I think Gunther is in a great place right now.
I wouldn't touch him as champion. There's no need to
do anything with him as world champion in terms of
even discussing the possibility of him dropping the bell to anyone,
much less Sammy's ain. So I think everybody's in a
good place here, and Sammy's ain and Gunther will, I think,
inevitably be the more raw main event tomorrow night. It

(41:14):
should be. And yes, even though it's the main event. No,
don't even think about this being a world title change,
all right, Priest and Finn, well, Finn, Finn just can't
catch a break. I actually don't agree with this booking.
I can say that the match was really good. Match
was fine, but the fact that you had Carlito and

(41:42):
you had j. D McDonough and you have all the
usual suspects involved here and it was a well done match,
one that you said, Okay, Finn's actually the victory here.
He when he was doing those Coudo grals on the
back of the neck of a priest, You're like, okay,
here we go. Yeah, he's getting the victory. And I
was much as much as I want to see Finn

(42:03):
get his ass kicked, at the same time, I'm like,
he needs the victory here. It's been a long time
and South of Heaven one two three, So Finn, poor Finn,
cannot buy a victory even though he continues to perform
at a high level. Finn and Damien are I don't

(42:25):
know if this is over with with Rhea and Live
not over. I don't know if Priests is going to
maintain the connection with Finn. I don't know. This was
their first one on one match, so perhaps it does continue,
and it is maybe Judgment Day versus Judgment Day, just
like it is going to be go of you know,
the two versions of the bloodline against one another. They
could mimic this, but you want a women's only and

(42:48):
I don't think they would put the men in there.
So I think we're probably not going to do that
with Judgment Day Judgment Day because you know, first of all,
Priest doesn't have a Judgment DA. It's really like the
Terror Twins. But I think that's probably gone for a while.
And yeah, this match was really good. Again it shows
you how good Finn Balor is. It reminds you how
good he is. The dude is a world class athlete.

(43:12):
I mean, he's just he can take a bump. He
is so smooth in the ring, his reversals, everything about
the guy is just top notch. And the bump that
he took with the I think it was the razor's
edge on the ring apron. I know it was a
bump that a lot of people overlooked, but it's one
that just think about it. How hard is the ring
to begin with. People think it's like jumping on a mattress.

Speaker 3 (43:33):
It's not.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
And then you hit the hardest part of the ring,
which is the metal supports the beams. There's basically no
padding anyway, and then you hit that on the ring apron,
Oh my god, I mean, yikes, right, just a brutal,
brutal bump. But obviously this is not one that they
had dam A Finn Balor in their minds of winning.

(43:58):
Whatever reason they have, I guess more aspirations for Damian Priest.
All right, So I think that did it. I think
I covered everything. Punk beats Drew Nia, Jacks beat Bailey,
Priest beats Balor Rhea and defeats Live by d Q

(44:19):
and Reins and Roads defeat the blood Line. So overall,
I enjoyed the pl Now it's onto the beloved Crown
Jewel with the extremely prestigious and long lineage championship of
the Crown Jewel Belt on the line. So that's gonna
be very, very important as we move forward. I say

(44:39):
that with all the sarcasm in the world, but it's coming,
and I think that it's gonna be fun matching either way,
even if there wasn't anything on the line. I mean,
you know how good Gunther works, you know how well
Cody Roads works, and I think these two putting being
putting together, put together is going to be I mean,
very very good match with a imaginary championship on the lay.

(45:00):
So that'll do it for my bad Blood review. This
is kind of a co weekend review. I know I
didn't review SmackDown. We really didn't review SmackDown at all
this week because it happened so quickly, and SmackDown is
usually very non consequential when it comes to the week
of a plee because it falls the day before. There's
not really much change. It's just final build and now
we're off to the races here. But hopefully we have
