Speaker 4 (00:34):
Hey, everybody, welcome to the Weekend Review. It is Saturday. Yes,
it's Saturday, October fourth, twenty twenty five. I'm doing this
to kind of make up for yesterday's missed mail bag.
But this is accommodation episode where we're gonna go over
this week kind of a SmackDown review as well as
Amanda was under the weather this week, so I am
the solar provider of the SmackDown Review. We wish Amanda

(00:56):
well getting better and she should be back next week.
But also we're gonna here from you guys because we
have voicemails and emails to get to and respond to
those as well. So boy, no time to waste here
as we have a busy week ahead. We not too
much longer until have we have our next pl coming
to us very soon with the Crown Jewel Event. In

(01:19):
fact next Saturday, next Saturday night in Perth, we get
a Crown Jewel Event one that has kind of felt
a little bit a little bit underwhelming in terms of
the build. But if you want to join us here
on the show and go ad free, Patreon dot com
slash ww podcast is the place to go. Of course,
of course it is or Apple as well. This is
a subscribe button all add free and also there is

(01:40):
an open spot. If you're interested in covering NXT or
doing the after Dark Show for this podcast, send me

me a quick five minute clip and we'll discuss it.
It's you know, it's certainly a possibility. If you do

(02:01):
well still send me a message at mailbag at ww
podcast dot com if you want to discuss a little
bit further on what we're looking for for NXT and
and or doesn't have to be both. We just won
the After Dark Show, which is an adult version of
the show. Can really be about anything, pretty much anything,
almost anything, but there all right, well, let's get into

(02:24):
it because there's a lot to talk about on the show.
As we get smacked Down. We're gonna star with SmackDown.
We'll get to the emails and voicemails a little bit later,
but let's star with SmackDown as we had this from Cincinnati, Ohio.
It was at the Heritage Bank Center and Michael Cole
welcomed us, and Cody Rhoads comes out books he's on commentary,

(02:45):
as you know, it's not my favorite, but he's on commentary,
and we then had Bronson read and bron Breaker walked
to ringside. Paul Hammond's there and they all hopped on
the apron and suddenly Randy Orton popped into the ring
from off camera, and Haman introduced the Vision members. He
said they didn't come out here to Cody then. Instead,

(03:08):
they wanted to speak to Orton and he hadn't been
returning their emails, calls and texts, okay, like who's emailing
somebody to get a hold of them. I mean, that's
that's almost as bad as saying, you know, I've been
calling your home phone.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
All right.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Well, Haymon said.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
He knew Orton would show up at they cornered Cody
and that was a spoiler, not a prediction, And he
said it was also a spoiler to say that Rhodes
and Orton would lose later tonight and attempt to just
kind of sew some division between them, and Haymond said
when they lose late later, Orton won't be able to help,
but think he could have been a better champion, or

(03:48):
could be a better champion, and is also wondering where
Cody was when he needed him. He then said their
partnership couldn't last, and that wasn't a prediction, it's a prophecy.
So that's good, good stuff here from the very well spoken,
manipulative Paul Hayman, who is trying to sew division between

(04:12):
Rhodes and Orton that we all know at some point
Orton's going to drop the RKO. I hope it happens
to match that needs to happen. Neither one of them
are going to presumably face John Cena in his final
match or two. So would it not be a good
idea to have Orton strike or would you rather do
it when the people aren't talking about it and expect
it probably a better time. You could even make that

(04:35):
a WrestleMania match, Orton versus Rhodes for the WWE Championship.
You could, You certainly could. Randy Orton's got several years
ahead of him, definitely more behind than in front, but
he could be a champion for a significant period of time.
He hasn't lost a single step. He looks like a
million bucks. He's done a great job conserving his body,

(04:55):
conserving his bumps, being very strategic about how many bumps
he takes, when and how, And Cody Rhodes and Orton
have a hell of a history. So I would say
wait on that, wait till it's a little bit less expected,
a little bit less talked about, and have Orton strike
at that point. Then you could have a WrestleMania match
between the two. Given them the really good promos, you'd

(05:16):
have the deep story that they could pull from from
decades ago, with legacy in their history that many of
us don't know about backstage, and they could do a lot.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Okay, So.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
We then had Tiffany Stratton shown outside earlier in the
day and Miz ran into Carmelo.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Hayes backstage and.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
MS complained about Carmelo not having his back last week,
and Mellow replied that he's done having his back because
he was always in his way. He said they were
done and told Miz that he was done or that
he was being nice about it. Because normally he shoots first.
And then we had Sammy Zaine in the arena and

(06:00):
he was going to face an Open Challenge Open challenger,
and it was Carmelo Hayes who came out and said
he'd already done this thing before, but the difference this
time is he doesn't have anybody holding him back, referring
to the Miz, and Melo told Sammy that they both
know how great he is, and tonight in Cincinnati, he's
the best he's ever been. And before Melow could walk

(06:22):
to the ring, Miz comes from behind hits a skull
crushing finale on the stage on Mellow, and that's when
Alistair Black walked out and took the spot that Melo
was trying to take for the United States Championship Open
Challenge match. So we officially get the Miz versus Carmelo Hayes.
We all know how this one ends. Carmelo Hayes is

(06:44):
going to go over and whether it's a one match,
two match, or or a trio of matches, ultimately the
winner of this war will be Mellow. It has to
be Mellow, and it's good that he's breaking out here
because as it's fine, it really it's just fine with
with them is he needs to be on his own
and he has yet to find his footing. This could

(07:04):
be the first like foothold that he gets on the
roster where people could go, hey, okay, I get what
he is, who he is, I know why I'm supposed
to like or not like him, and I guess we're
supposed to like him. And he has a great opponent
to work with in Them is a very skilled opponent,
one that I don't think it's a lot of credit.
Although I don't think he's as good as many legends
think he is from a fan perspective, which I'm sure

(07:27):
means nothing, but I think that he's a great, first, real,
real opponent for Mellow on the roster to have an
actual rivalry with that. He gets, you know, singles attention
on with the promos on his own. He's not being
held back. He doesn't look like he's being crutched by anybody.
This to me is his first real one and I'm

(07:49):
fine with it, even though I know the outcome of it.
So Sammy's ay and versus Alistair Black is actually the
match that takes place because they don't trust Alistair Black
to ever be on the microphone and.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Really good man.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
The match, of course ends with Sammy's Ain beating Alistair Black,
but it was a longer match than I thought. Fifteen
minutes and seventeen seconds. The finish was Black delivering some
kicks and a back elbow in the corner. Black avoided
a helluva kick and landed a meteora out of the
corner and then got another their near close fall. He
then sold frustration, backed into a corner and lined up

(08:24):
for a black mass kick. That's when Damian Priest appeared
at ringside and provided a distraction for Black, and Sammy
used that to deliver a hell of a kick and
a blue thunderbomb for the victory. And still your United
States Champion, Sammy Zain beating Alistair Black. As I said
in fifteen minutes and seventeen seconds. After the match, Sammy

(08:47):
Zain celebrated as Demian Priest looked kind of pleased with himself,
and Priest then cleared off the commentary table and pulled
Black to ringside, and he picked Black up and delivered
a razor's edge through the announced table, which is good.
I mean, yeah, he needs a little bit of revenge
after all. The black Mass kicks he's taken, and probably
all the dental work that he's had to be serviced

(09:08):
to because of all the black Mass kicks. Which is,
as I've said, I've seen a lot of finishes in
my day, a lot a lot of them, right, some
bad looking ones, some good looking ones, ones that look devastating,
but you know we're safe. I have never been a
proponent of black mass kick. It looks awesome, he delivers
it awesome. However, it to me looks such high risk

(09:31):
that there is such a small window of error that
in fact, there is no window for error, there's no
margin for error. I would never want to take that
finish ever. Never give me even the sweet Chin music
is better, it's more controlled, it's less violent. Give me
sweet Chin music all day long, versus a black Mass kick.

(09:53):
Give me a stunner, give me a tombstone, give me
a pedigree even you know, I'm not even talking about
a big, cushy pillow kind of finishers like Cody Rhodes
and Big Ending from Biggie and all the ones that
just are just horrible looking. These are the ones that
I would take. I would like literally name any finish

(10:15):
and I would take it over the Black Mass and
that's actually kind of a compliment, as I said to
Alister Black, who delivers it in a violent way that
makes it look believable. But boy oh boy, like yeah,
I understand that he does as little damage as possible,
but the way that he delivers it and how little
error he has, there's too high a risk of you're
gonna bust my teeth or my jaw.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
You know, it just is.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
All right, it's just my own personal issues here. But
also Damian Priest, I know, he's messing around with Kit
Wilson and all that in the back too, and he's
pushing him around in a wheelchair, and it was good
to see Kit Wilson doing something. And they're talking about masculinity.
That happened a little bit later in the show, of course,
you know, Kit Wilson trying to make himself the the

(11:01):
the kind of face of masculinity, which is part of
the joke.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
He's of course not.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
But Deemian Priest has been since the you know, the
Terror Twins and the breakup from the Judgment Day and
all the rest, Damien Priest and really the Dreamacatire feud.
Ever since then, Drew. You know, a Priest has been
doing pretty much nothing. And just not to say that
Alista Black is nothing, He's not nothing, But compared to

(11:29):
where Priest was, he was world champion, for God's sakes,
and did a great job as world champion, overachieved as
world champion, held about longer than most people thought he
ever could his world champion, and then he becomes kind
of this mid to upper mid upper mid card guy
that has lost a lot of momentum. And that's the
nature of the business. I get it, I get it.
You know, it happens. You can't have the same guys

(11:51):
on top all the time. But Damian Priest is kind
of being humbled a little bit here with some programs
that aren't his high profile. All right, We then have
Soul Ruka and Zaria versus Chelsea Green and Alba Fire.
Quick match here kind of too quick three minutes and
forty seconds with Soul Ruka and Zaria beating Chelsea Green

(12:13):
in Alba Fire. The finish here was Green covering Ruca
after a seated lariat and then Zaria pulled Fire from
the apron and sent her into the barricade. Green attempted
and unpretty her, but Riuca avoided it and landed a
soul Snatcher for the win. Now, I will say the

(12:34):
soul Snatcher finish name is clever, although suggestive. If you
get my drift, maybe it's because I my mind's in
the gutter, but I'll leave it at that. For the
potential young ones listening to this, Yeah, so, I mean
so grennad Azaria not much to say here. Chelsea Green

(12:56):
does what she normally does. She's entertaining Alba fire in
her work while together Solaru Gounzaria just trying to get
minutes on screen to give themselves exposures. Really, all the
point of them being on screen is and they work
well together too.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
But too quick.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
I mean, this is what I'm talking about. You can't
have women's matches, particularly women's tag matches, be this quick.
You need to give them ten minutes. That's just my take,
because how do you expect somebody to go maximize your minutes.
You're barely getting any minute. You're barely getting minutes plural,
much less for women trying to eat up three minutes

(13:29):
and forty seconds to give themselves some kind of exposure
on national television.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Kind of difficult to do. That's unfair.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
I mean, I don't care if it's the men's division,
the women's division, I don't care. This is the This
is the downside of you know, when WWE doesn't have
anything for you, there's nothing on the line.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Now we see what We'll give it them something.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Yeah, I understand it's better than nothing, but boy, it's
barely better than nothing.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
All right.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
We had a video package recapping what happened to Roman
Reigns at the conclusion of Raw, and he was advertised
for Monday, which is good. Can we just say, though,
that there's no draft anymore, like there never really was
to begin with, even them date after the draft was
over a couple of years ago. There was no real

(14:17):
draft because everybody was always coming over with no explanation
and rules that never really mattered, and people coming over
and there was no security, and then there was security,
and it was a just a crap show from the beginning.
But it has since really really degraded into there is
truly nothing. There is truly nothing to be said about
them having a brand split. I guess it's just over.

(14:41):
I think that's where we're at. Like, I'm pretty sure
I'm not just I'm not hammering from them for not
following the draft up because I don't think the draft
is even an effect anymore until, of course we're notified
that it is. We'll see. So we had Orton and
Roads reiterating backstage that they had each other's backs, and
Nick Allos was the ring for the contract signing between

(15:02):
Tiffany and Stephanie Vicaire and he brought out Stratton first
and both women were exchanging very intense looks, and Vicera
told Tiffany she respects her and called her a great champion.
She said she knows she's only been champion for two weeks,
but she has no plans to lose any match and
said the best woman would win next week. Stratton replied

(15:22):
that ever since Vkaierre got signed, she was waiting for
her opportunity to face her, and it doesn't matter where
they are in the globe, it would always be Tiffy
time of.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Womp.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
Both women signed the contract and held up their titles.
As Stratton was about to leave, she was attacked behind
by Julia Keana. James had a microphone and said they
had business, a business proposal for for Care and they
proposed that she signed on with Keana James and her representation,
and she claimed that Julia outshines Tiffany on SmackDown and
with her help she would become Crown Jewel Champion. Tiffany

(15:58):
recovered at ambush James and and the two champions made
quick work of James and Julia.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
So that's that.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
I mean, Vicera is supposed to come off as this
respectable champion, and that's true. I mean again, this is
an exhibition match. You're not gonna have any any role
changes from babyface to heel or heal to baby face
because nothing's actually on the line. It's an exhibition for
two top champions. There's really I don't want to hear
about the Crown JORL Championship. We all know it means
absolutely just. It means less than dog crap. It's nothing.

(16:30):
We understand that we're going to be sold otherwise nobody's
buying it. But fine, it appeals to whatever the Crown
Jewel princes and government want w W to promote here. Fine,
okay whatever. In reality, no one believes anything's on the
line here. It's all nonsense. But we're looking forward to

(16:51):
an actual good match between these two. And you have
two young women, both champion, both still trying to find
their way. Eefny of the Care is not good on
the microphone. We know that not just because of her
language barrier, but because even when she does speak English,
it's not confidently, it's very generics. She does most of
her talking in the ring, and you can get away

(17:12):
with that for a while. You get away with just
kicking ass in the ring and letting that do your
most of your work on top of your music or
your just your body language. But eventually you're going to
have to communicate with the audience on some kind of
verbal level to maximize your potential. You know, not that
you can't be a successful star, but it maximizes your
potential when you're actually able to communicate with the vast

(17:34):
majority of people that watch wrestling, which are English speaking customers.
That's you and me, most of us are, and that
will forever be their core audience. So until you can
communicate with your core audience, it's kind of hard to
maximize your connection with them if you can't speak their language.
And no, I'm not going to go to believe that
I'm supposed to learn Spanish to understand her. No, no, no,

(17:55):
she assimilates to our culture, we don't assimilate to hers.
She's in our country. Okay, that's how that works. So
flilosy out there.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
You should learn Spanish.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
No, No, I don't go to Spain and tell people that, No,
you need to learn proper American English in order to
communicate with me, right, Like, that's not how this works.
Doesn't work anyway, That's not how this works.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
But what I will say also about Stephanie, and this
is kind of on the side note, As you know,
I go on these kind of weird tangents or rants
or talk about things that most people aren't and get
kind of annoyed by things that most people aren't getting
annoyed by. And I don't even know if I'm annoyed
by this so much as I'm.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
I don't know. I'm not even surprised.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
It's maybe disappointed or off put Offput's probably a much
better way to phrase this. Stephanie Vicaire has recently shown
off her tattoo on her back. It's on the back
of her neck going down to like her mid back
kind of center, and there's no other way to read

(18:58):
and interpret what she has imprinted on her body forever,
and it's very demonic, very dark. There's no other way
to interpret it. It is just it's demonic. And if
you don't care about that thing that then then dude,

(19:19):
then great cool. Then it does this this segment doesn't
is not for you. And I understand these people are
playing roles and playing people and playing characters, and I
understand all that. But when you imprint a very dark
symbol on your body forever, a very large, dark symbol
on your body forever, that changes how I view you.

(19:39):
And I understand she's a wrestler and I'm not wishing
any ill will on her. I hope, I wish her
all the success, but it just changes how I view
that person. Even though she's playing a character. It cuts
through the performance stuff and it cuts to personality who
she is as a person, and that to me has
it's I used Sepanie Vicaire for those that I'm sure

(20:03):
are very concerned and interested in my personal opinion about
stevenye Vicare. It just does I mean, so could take
a look at for yourself, Google it if it's available everywhere.
I mean, just not a picture that's hard to find,
so anyway, it kind of also reminds me of rear
Ripleys tattoos that are also many of them are very dark,
very I mean, it's satanic stuff, no other way to

(20:27):
describe it, and it just makes me it's just kind
of off putting for me. I'm not getting into any
religious sermon here or theology, that's not my point. But
when it's something just overtly dark and evil symbols on
you that it's not you know, you don't joke about this,
Like if you didn't really believe that, you wouldn't imprint
it on your body forever. Right when you wear that

(20:50):
kind of stuff on your skin and you post those
pictures publicly, there is an opportunity for people to respond
and like, and people should respond. Because you're posting something publicly,
you open yourself up to criticism, right, Like, is thisn't
somebody who has leaked your eye cloud and gone in
and taken personal photos and published them. These are public
photos put out by you, so therefore I have the

(21:13):
right to speak on them, and if I don't like them,
and I obviously I don't agree with what she's done,
but obviously she could do whatever the hell she wants.
But now I can respond in kind about how I
view somebody, just as you can, right anybody listening to
this can. But Riha Ripley has done kind of the
same thing. And there's this transformation picture too, floating around

(21:35):
about with Rihea Ripley and how she used to look
and how she looks now. I don't look if you
look at her previous photos and how she looks now.
I know a lot of people love the mommy look
in the dark lipstick and the dark kind of goth
dark everything, tattoo everything. I know a lot of people
like that, especially the women. And yeah, I get a
lot of backlash anytime I criticize how she's transformed personally.

(21:56):
And I'm sure a lot of guys would agree with
me on this, not all, but some would agree with
me that the more feminine, natural look is a better
look for just generally for women. I don't know where
women have gotten into this idea that they they're they're
going to attract more men again, if that's if that's
the what they've been sold, which a lot of today's

(22:19):
culture has sold women that you know, just do what
you want with your body. If men can't accept you,
my men, you know want a strong, independent boss girl
and all that, which is of course nonsense. But if
you have been buying into what that's been selling, and
you're getting tattoos and you know WHOA, I don't get it.
I know why I'm single. Sometimes not all the time.

(22:39):
I'm getting into very dangerous territory here, but I'm it's
kind of it's railroaded me onto a different subject that
I'm going to get off in a moment, I promise,
and we're going to get back to week this week
in review. But no wonder, I only have a ninety
percent male audience. Not a lot of the women have
dropped off. But if you've been that sold that bill

(23:03):
of goods that you know you tattoo yourself up and
try to make yourself more masculine and you know you
don't need no men and all that stuff like, which
is what a lot of the today's culture tells women.
I will tell you biology always wins, which means men
are not attracted to that. Generally speaking, men are generally
not attracted to the boss babe who is a CEO

(23:25):
or whatever like that. That doesn't matter to us. And
usually the tattoo thing doesn't help. Yeah, Like that's that's what.
I don't know where that. I mean, I know where
it came from, but I'm not going to get into it.
But anyway, back to Stephane vic Care, it's it's not
a good look from my personal opinion. That of course
means absolutely nothing to her and to the general public.

(23:47):
But since I have a platform and this is my show,
I get to express my opinion and I'm sure I'm
going to get some feedback on this, which should be fun,
to be a lot of fun, all right, Gotta have
one of those every show, don't I if I If
I don't, it wouldn't be this show.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
We had Javon Evans and Ray Phoenix take on Angel
and Bartow Low scars Us. The match went nine minutes
and twenty one seconds with Javon Evans and Ray Phoenix
beating Los Scarzs and it ended with Evans getting an
og cutter an Angel and Phoenix followed up with a
Mexican musclebuster on Bartow and got the victory. After the match,

(24:26):
Damian Priest was interviewed by Kathy Kelly. He said Alista
Black's luck had run out and he was the bad
luck he had coming for him. That's, of course what
I talked about earlier with Kit Wilson coming up in
a wheelchair and Priest challenging Black to a last man
standing match next week, which it's good. I mean, last
man's standing matches are fairly rare, you know, it happened

(24:51):
maybe once or twice a year, and it's gonna be fun.
I mean, Priest in a last man standing match with
a talent like Alistair Black can't be in but good
from a wrestling perspective, it's just a matter of I think
there's not a ton of emotional investment in this, and
hopefully this is the final match for these two. And
you do wonder, much like what's his name? Andrade almost

(25:16):
forgot his name going back to aw because they did
absolutely nothing with him in WWE, like literally nothing like
at all. You wonder if Alis or Black's gonna follow
it suit right like you wonder if he's going to
do the same thing where they haven't done much with
him either a little bit more than they've done with Andrde,
But you do wonder if they're just he's just gonna
go f this man. I'm out, like they're not doing
anything with me. I'm going back possible. I mean, you

(25:39):
gotta do what you gotta do for yourself, what's best
for you and best for your family, and best for
whatever you think is best for you.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
You gotta do it. Okay, So.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
We had let's see all the street profits were asked
about being on the same page. They answered that the
Wide six can play all the mind games they want,
but next week they would fight for each other as
well as the tag team championships. And that's when a
video played behind them where they, of course don't stand

(26:11):
and look at the TV like every human being has
ever watched TV watches TV, not sideways, but you gotta
look sideways so that the hardcaan can see you watching
the TV instead of the back of your head. It's
always been weird for me when they do that. Anybody
that's ever been on ww television backstage always watches TV
like sideways. I understand, It's it's just a production.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Ick for me.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
But anyway, the video played and they said their houses
burning all around them, the Wyots that is, and they
would be nothing more than piles of ashes when they
were done. And we also had Stephanie Vicare and Keana
James and I'm sorry Stephanie Vicaierr will face Kana, James
and Julian next week on SmackDown, along with Priest and

(26:57):
Black and Lastman Standing match. So something from the Wyatts
that's good, and I'm not being facetious. I mean that's
actually something like we got some commentary from Paul or
from Joe Gacy and Nicky Cross. You know we heard
them speak.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
That was good.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
Eric Grohlan kind of taking the leadership here. I mean,
it's it's something. It wasn't anything magical. It was very
Bray Wyatt esque. That's that's what it was. So Randy
Orton and Cody versus The Vision, bron Breaker and Bronson Red.
The match went fifteen minutes and fourteen I'm sorry, fifteen

(27:34):
minutes and twenty four seconds. I know that's a big difference, right,
But the finish was read quickly recovering after a power
slam and he delivered a jagged edge and he climbed
up to the top rope, but Orton recovered knocked him
down to a seated position. Orton then delivered a big

(27:54):
superplex and covered, but Breaker broke up the fall. Cody
comes in, he and Breaker spilled to the floor. He
and Cody then flew through the barricade when Breaker leaped
off the apron with a big knee strike, which that
was a pretty cool move. And then Hayman gets involved
and he distracted the ref so Rollins Seth Rollins could
deliver a stomp to Orton, and Read followed up with

(28:17):
the tsunami and got the victory. After the match, the
Vision celebrated in the ring while Hayman chuckled on the outside,
Cody got backed in, got back in the ring, checked
on Orton, Read, and Breaker wanted to return to attack Cody,
but Rollins insisted he was his and Rollins gave Hayman
a look. He looked at Hayman. It was interesting, almost
as if he was going to attack Hayman or turn

(28:38):
on Hayman, but it was quickly squashed and was more
like no, no, no, whatever you're thinking, don't do it,
don't do it. And Rollins was going to try to
stomp Cody and it turned into a crossroads.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
That was it.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
So again we're looking forward. I mean, I think as
from a pure wrestling perspective, Cody wrote, versus Seth Rollins
is going to be a fun, really good wrestling match,
and we're reminded constantly of the three and zero record
against Seth Rollins, an undefeated streak going on by Cody

(29:13):
against Rollins, which I think will be broken. Early spoiler here,
I think early prediction. I mean they keep hammering that,
and I think it certainly is going to be something
that they try to build up Rollins with because also,
don't forget, nothing's on the line here for Cody.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
He can take the L.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
Seth needs the L, Cody doesn't need it. And Cody
gets no loss from this. He's already got a meaningless
crown jewel ring from last year, which again was a championship.
I don't know if they're bringing back the actual imaginary championship,
but they might. But Cody loses nothing from this, nothing,
absolutely nothing. And you could actually have Randy Orton turn

(29:53):
on Cody in this match.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
It's possible.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
If you want to really turn Randy Orton back to heel,
which he's very good at, you could do it here again,
unless you want to wait till a bigger stage. So overall,
good SmackDown. I thought a good SmackDown. One that is,
it wasn't superstar studded, but one that I think it
was an above average average show as far as raw goes.

(30:17):
Before we get to the emails and voicemail A two
some highlights here. We got Dominic Masio taking on Russ
for the Intercontinental title. If you remember where Dom beats
Roussev to retain the title and Dom's now over Dom.
I think is officially a babyface. I dropped that on Tuesday,
which is no secret. I'm not giving you guys any

(30:39):
breaking news here. It's just an observation that everyone saw
at the same time. Dom is a babyface. Giving his
best Eddie Guerrero impersonation is going to help him in
a big way. I think it will continue to be
his mo. He's going to continue to do this to
retain the title, and it's going to be fun to
see the more creative ways and fun ways and kind

(30:59):
of slimy ways that he's able to do it. That
is actually going to be endearing. So I'm looking forward
to how he does this moving forward. I don't want
them to screw around anymore with him as a heel.
There's nothing left to do with him as a heel.
Fans have booed him for years. Now, it's over.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
We got it.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
Out, it's now time to turn him into a babyface,
which I think they did on Monday Night. So then
we had really take on Raquel Rodriguez with Raquel beating Bailey,
and after the match, you know, we had Bailey do
her usual identity crisis thing, and we had Lyra, which
I'm sure a lot of you loved in her mini skirt,

(31:39):
about to go out to the night club instead take
a detour and stop at the arena to interfere here
and help out Bailey. And then let's see La Night
beats Kofi Kingston. We had let's see here Cody and
Rollin I'm sorry Cody and Seth Rollins in a kind

(32:00):
of a I wouldn't say shoot promo, but a nice
kind of wrestling promo here to build to their match
at Crown Jewel. And then we had aj Styles and
Jagon Lee beating Los Americanos Bravo and Ryo. We then
had j Uso and Jimmy us the USOS, yes, the USOS,
who beat bron Breaker and Bronson Reid in a Tornado

(32:23):
tag team match. But the bigger story here, of course,
is Roman Reigns coming back to WWE after a short
break from being destroyed by Bronson Reid.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
So big week in WWE.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
I'd say, I mean, nothing epic, but it's a nice
build towards the the event coming to us on Saturday. Okay,
let's go. Let's get to the emails, everybody. Let's get
to those emails. We'll start with patrons as we do,
because patrons get priority. This is Andrew from Flint Guessing Flint, Michigan.

(32:57):
He said, it's been a couple weeks since I wrote
in life's been busy. I'm sure you can relate. Yeah, certainly,
I think I can. I don't want to be an
individual claiming WW sucks right now. I can't help but
feel the product is a chore to get through. Here
are a couple of complaints that's been in my mind
the last couple of weeks. Number One, I'm extremely liberal,

(33:19):
but that being said, I can't get behind the constant
pandering to that side in every show. Aj Lee getting
the fans to chant therapy was awful. The women on
the male violence that can't be returned as a joke.
I agree with you so much that it literally makes
me want to turn away from the product side.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
Note.

Speaker 4 (33:35):
Yes, I can be liberal and enjoy your show. We're
allowed to have different opinions, and I appreciate you never
hiding your true feelings to pander to your audience. See, Andrew,
you're a rare breed, my friend. Maybe you've already expressed
this in past emails. I can't remember.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
I'm sure.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
I mean, we are clearly on opposite sides when it
comes to everything outside of wrestling. We love wrestling. We
share a love of wrestling. And it's amazing that people
who may have shared passions in life, maybe family members
or good friends, who decide that because their other beliefs

(34:12):
don't line up with that person, then if it doesn't match,
they don't want anything to do with that person.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
They want to talk to that person.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
Somebody I knew that recently was assassinated has said something
that is and I think should be etched somewhere in
stone and placed on every university. Then when people stop talking,
violence start. So when people stop talking, that's when you usual,
that's when problems start. I'm paraphrasing because I don't know
exactly how it was said. I have to listen to

(34:39):
it again. But conversation, when you kind of are able
to talk to the other side. Even if you don't agree,
and you're not, you're not convincing the other person to
join you. It's just a matter of seeing where people stand.
Conversation can be a big, a really useful tool. And
unfortunately today we've been and told really on both sides

(35:01):
that if you don't align with the political beliefs of
this side or that side, then the other side is
you know, the other side is dehumanized. And that's unfortunate.
So Andrew crazy, right, we can we can still talk.
You and I are certain. I mean, yeah, we probably
don't agree on anything else, but that's okay. We love
wrestling and that's fine. But the liberal stuff or I'm sorry,

(35:24):
the therapy stuff with aj Lee.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
It was terrible.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
It's a sign of the times, though. It's a sign
of the times. I mean where you know, therapy is
a badge of honor, and having a mental illness is
a badge of honor, and it just is. I mean,
you don't have to be on any side to see that.
It's tell me there are not people in your life,
not just you, Andrew, everybody that are in therapy. You

(35:50):
know people that are in therapy. You may be in
therapy yourself, But yet there are no There are more
people on antidepressants, more people committing suicide, more people to press,
more people sad there ever have been, and yet more
people are taking medication, more people are going to therapy
that we're told they're supposed to alleviate these things. So
what's the problem here? If it's so effective and everybody

(36:12):
should be doing it, everybody should be an anti presence,
everybody should be in therapy, Yet more people are sad.
What's not working here? If therapy is not the answer,
and medication is not the answer, which I think medication
has a big actually does the opposite, then what's the problem.
Well that's a conversation for not not for this show.

(36:33):
I have an answer, but it's not this show. But
yet we've we've again, we've we've created this as a
badge of honor that you know, what's your mental illness?
Oh I have aged, I have ADHD, I have I
have this, I have that all really Oh cool? I
have type two or whatever it is. It's shame, shameless

(36:54):
is part of it. But okay, I'll stop the male
on women, the men and women violence. I've gone over
so many times. I won't do it here again. It's
just ridiculous, but it's okay. Number two, The storytelling has
not been consistent. The scene of heel Turn failed miserably
when it became clear the Rock would not be available,
and there were no clear follow up. And to add

(37:15):
to that, there are no real plans to make ju
so it look like a competent world champion after WrestleMania.
The Wyat Sucks have been awful after their initial TV appearance,
and the New Day Heel Turn resulted in losing the
tag titles in an episode of Raw, those are just
the name of you. That's called my friend listen Andrew.
That's called having no real plan.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
That's what that is.

Speaker 4 (37:36):
These ideas come up in their creative production meetings, whether
they're in person or zoom or wherever they're doing them,
and there's there's an idea that is intriguing that Triple
H and Company are you know, gravitating to and they
see potential in.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
And yet they don't.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
They don't bother to answer the question, Okay, well, what
are we doing this for? What's means to an end?
Where are we going with it? It sounds very much
like a Vince McMahon answer. Of I don't know, Powell,
We'll figure it out as we go. No wrong, not
You don't have to have every micro step planned out.
But if you're gonna do something big like that, like
a heel turn for a faction that hasn't been healed

(38:17):
in ten years the new day, like the rock turning
John Cenahel, who hasn't been healing twenty years, what's the.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
Plan for that?

Speaker 4 (38:29):
Oh, the rock will turn them heel and then leave
Like this, This is the problem. You do these fantastical
things that have a lot of potential, these attention grabbing things,
this social media explosions, and then you just walk away.
You light a fire and then walk away. There's no
follow through. It doesn't seem there's an actual ending, no

(38:51):
real cohesive logical plan. You can't fly by the seat
of your pants with these kinds of stories. You can
do that with some stuff, not everything. I agree that,
like you don't have to have a complete picture. You
can kind of feel it.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Out as you go.

Speaker 4 (39:07):
Not with this stuff. This is too high profile. You
don't do this with top tier stuff. And yet they've
done it. But I truly believe, and I know we
all look at the John Cena hill turn as a failure,
and in many ways I think it was. In other ways,
I think it made us appreciate John Cena being a

(39:28):
babyface and having him turn back babyface was fun because
we all appreciate the character he's been and it had
he just been a babyface this whole time, it kind
of would have been a little bit redundant. So there
is that to be, you know, to be thankful for.
But if the Rocks stuck around, even on a semi
regular basis, to give us an explanation and have us
follow through and have John talked about why he took

(39:50):
the direction from the Rock and what changed and what
conversation took place backstage and all the rest, and have
the Rock there like maybe every like even once a
month to kind of check in and help John Cena
win or whatever or manipulate the matches he was in
in John's favor and then give it. Then I think
we'll be looking at this John Cena heel turn as

(40:10):
a little bit more of a successful run. But the
fact that you have the biggest star in the world,
one of the biggest wrestling stars of all time, just
walk away with no explanation and then tell us that
it's not about him when he did the thing. It's
a slap in the face to all of the WWE fans.
I don't want to hear it. There's no excuse. And

(40:31):
if you didn't plan on being around and you didn't
actually want it to be about you, then get the
f out to coin a term from twenty years ago
when they dropped the WWF part of their name. So yeah, okay,
you're getting me fired up. Andrew on several topics here. Okay,
Cody Roads is becoming stale. I'm seeing individuals like jerm

(40:52):
mcintower and La Night becoming jobbers when they were more interesting.
When they are more interesting, Well, Cody Rhoads does seem
to be at a no pun intended, a crossroads. He
seems to be in a place where he needs to
do something, whether it's stay babyface and kind of reignite
the fan basic behind him, or maybe we go down

(41:13):
the heel turn path that is eventually coming. Don't forget
Cody Roads is going on nearly three years as a
babyface now very successful run, made a lot of money,
good for him, but it does seem to be getting
closer here to like a big change is needed. Cody Roads,

(41:34):
even at his first run as champion, he was not fun.
He was very boring. The overcoming of Roman Reigns at
WrestleMania forty. As fun as that ending was that many
people I think over sell for the ending with Triple
H or rather Undertaker being involved, which really made no sense.
I don't agree with that, but I understand the kind

(41:55):
of nostalgic feel to that whole ending. I get it.
It would have been Austin's mom, but they put Taker
in there even that run. Though after he took it
from Roman, after Roman lost in early four years later,
it was very underwhelming. After that, he.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
Didn't do much with it.

Speaker 4 (42:14):
It was very much. He would show up, cut a promo.
He was you know, he had his title defenses, but
you knew because he just wanted from Roman reigns, for
love of God, he wasn't gonna drop it. So it
became kind of like a cool Cody's chap.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (42:27):
I mean, Cody Rhods just generally, I think is not
an interesting character. And I'm trying to speak as objectively
as I can. I don't see Cody Roads to me
is not a fun character. He's got fun entrance music.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
I'll give you that.

Speaker 4 (42:41):
I think that's a big reason for his success. It's
this entrance music because it's so it's like ultra babyface.
And yes, he has energy and his promo and his
pyro and all their ass, and he had a famous
I think his dad was in wrestling too.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (42:57):
Some maybe I could be wrong on that, but somebody
said one time that Cody Rhodes's dad was a wrestler.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
I don't have to.

Speaker 4 (43:06):
Google it, but he has that going for him, and
I just but I don't think he's He's so like,
so put together and always wearing suits. He even wears
suits on his bus for his his podcast that he does.
Are you I mean, I'm guessing he does them at

(43:27):
RAWZ when he's there, or smackdowns when he's there on
his bus and he just records him on his bus
and he has time with the guys before the shows
to cut the You know, I get it, but are
you really walking around all day in a god dang suit?
I don't get it.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Man.

Speaker 4 (43:44):
It feels so phony, it feels so fake. You are
a It's like you're an imposter. We all know you are,
but you don't think that we're smart enough to see
through it. That's what I were really despised about the
Cody character. But at least his stupid dog isn't floating around.
We don't have to watch him walk his dog from

(44:07):
his tour bus to uh Gorilla before his match.

Speaker 2 (44:11):
All right, there there, you hit me on point three.

Speaker 4 (44:15):
I'm gonna be ah, I'm gonna need to take a
shower after this this conversation.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
You can get heat it up? All right?

Speaker 4 (44:22):
The mid card belts final point here uh for the
women are a joke. Julia makes me want to turn
off my TV. The Intercontinental Belt is literally being used
as a prop to make division look more daunting. Yes,
I'll continue to watch. I love WWE and it's important
in my life. Some things need to change. Andrew from Flint, Well,
thank you again, Andrew for hitting on really every one

(44:42):
of my points, or every one of my trigger points.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
I guess.

Speaker 4 (44:46):
But the women's made card, Hey, you don't need to
tell me. The WWE couldn't manage even the small amount
of women's championships that they had before they introduced ones
that they know they couldn't manage, like you need to
show us that you can manage the ones that are
there properly, give them enough time, enough of a you know,
minutes in the ring promo, intriguing character like easier said

(45:11):
than done.

Speaker 2 (45:12):
I get it.

Speaker 4 (45:12):
I'm not saying it's easy. But until you get that
down and you have a precedent set for championships for women,
you can't introduce more and expect a better result because
you're already not doing a good job with the ones
that are there. Again, you know, the top women's championships,
the WW and world titles, they've done a decent job.

(45:36):
You know, from time to time it was forgotten, but
generally it's been a positive for both. But the women's
tag titles, we all know, a horrendous nine times out
of ten, they've been a horrendous kind of bring the
division down type of just an albatross on whoever took them.

(45:56):
And then you introduce two more belts for the women,
and what do you think the result's going to be.
We're seeing it now, all right, Andrew, I gotta stop
reading your emails, all right, thank you, buddy. All right,
let's go to DJ. DJ's got two points, and he
says the Sammy zay Us title Open Challenges have been

(46:20):
fun to watch on SmackDown, especially last week where I
got to see NXT's Joe or Sorry Javon Evans make
his SmackDown debut against Sammy. It would be interesting to
see if WWE continues to have wrestlers MENXT and maybe
even TNA and Triple A be featured as opponents for
Sammy on SmackDown in the upcoming weeks. Yeah, I mean
it's a perfect platform for it. It's a great idea. Yes,

(46:44):
that's exactly what the purpose of that should be. Now
you can have some talent comme in occasionally that we
all know it's an established talent, but it should be
for up and coming talents. It's exactly what the purpose
of it should be. And that's what was really part
of it. Made the first run of the Open Challenge
the OG run of the Open Challenge US title Open

(47:05):
Challenge with John Cena. What made that very successful is
that it was helping bring new stars, give them some
time in the ring against somebody like John Cena for
a title.

Speaker 2 (47:17):
You know, there's really.

Speaker 4 (47:19):
Some something to be said for that that John Cena
did really help out some of the younger talent. I
remember even Kevin Owens coming out and being one of
John Cena's first opponents. That was I mean, that really
helped Kevin Owens. I mean it's not to say that
everyone that came in the ring with John Cena is
now a big star. We all know that's not true.

(47:40):
But to have a platform where if you're an upcoming
star and you're like, hey, like I just need that opportunity.

Speaker 2 (47:45):
I need that.

Speaker 4 (47:46):
I just need to get my foot in the door.
I need to show what I can do the perfect
time to do it against somebody that you know can
wrestle his ass off in Sammy's aying, there's no better
person to put in the ring for a platform like
that than Sammy. This should be something that continues for
several months.

Speaker 2 (48:02):
Two. The last thing I would say about.

Speaker 4 (48:03):
Russell Palooza, because I didn't get a chance to say
it last week on the mail bag, was it looked
like the pl was quickly put together in literally less
than two weeks and did not live up to the
expectations of most fans. Not to yet again sound like
a repeated scratched record, but in my opinion, less ples,
especially within the month timeframe, is better than having one literally,
almost every week a PL is too one progress a storyline,

(48:28):
two end storyline, or three create a new shocking storyline
via a quote shocking development. With these plees occurring so
close together in a matter of weeks, sometimes the payoff
of a story doesn't feel that special because there's so many.
Hopefully that makes sense, Yes, DJ, and you have a
good weekend as well. We'll get to your Joe Henry
report in just a few moments. But see that's the downside.

(48:51):
But gee, ww doesn't give a damn. They don't care.
They don't care that fans like us, you and I
are complaining that there's too many pl Why because they
will gladly trade this criticism and negative feedback for cash.
They will take our tears and our screams and our
complaints and skip to the bank happily, happily with a

(49:16):
grin because they're making more money by creating more pls. Now,
is that a good long term strategy? Probably not, Because
when there's more of something, whether it's a commodity or
a service, it's worthless. That is a across the board
universal truth. And when there's more ples, it's worthless. And

(49:41):
also when you're talking about trying to create stories. It
doesn't give you time to build things to a nice crescendo,
doesn't give you enough time to really tell a good story.
It makes you feel like you're rushing things and things
are just yeah, things are too too kind of ructured
and it's not it's not organic. So I can't sing,

(50:05):
you know, sing that any louder there, DJ, I totally agree.
All righty, let's get to Maximus or max sorry, max Man,
he says. From Spotify, he says, I wanted to hear
your thoughts on Seth's look. I thought after his heel
turn he would change his crazy rainbow robes to a

(50:26):
more professional look. But it seems like he took his
old suits and just repainted everything black just this past week.
You haven't on raw said or I'm sorry he had
his shoulder pads. You're minded of a Balthazar Brat from
Despicable Me. Now that I think about it, they are

(50:46):
not that different in terms of look.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (50:50):
Well, first of all, i've seen Despicable Me three. I'd
have to I haven't seen it in a while, but
I have to see what you're talking about with that character.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
But to your.

Speaker 4 (51:00):
Point about Seth, it felt like for a while he
kind of felt he was wearing something consistent. For a
week or two, it was like a it was kind
of a suit, more sharp look, and I was like, Okay,
we got something here, and then he went back to
it's just ridiculous, and he's wearing all black because that's
just kind of how entertainment works. You wear black as

(51:22):
a symbolic gesture to you're the bad guy, you're the
anti hero, right, Like I that that's that's what happens.
But Seth needs to land on something. To me, his outfits,
especially as a babyface, were just they were They were
the obnoxious. They weren't endearing. I don't know what he
thought he was doing. It was just trying to be

(51:42):
different for different sake. And when you can't land on
an outfit, it it's confusing to the mind. Like you
you see Seth rollins outlandish outfits, and I don't understand
what's supposed to be. What's the desired reaction? What would
Seth and company want us to take from the wild

(52:05):
outfits just that we remember him or something, what that
he gets our attention. He's Seth Rollins. If he can't
get us get our attention at this point, he's not
gonna get it. Seth has done enough in his career
to get our attention because he's Seth Rollins. He shouldn't
have to rely on this superficial, you know, coating of

(52:27):
himself to try to get our attention with red inflatable
pants and sunglasses that you look like Elton John designed
them in a fever dream and like all this crap.
It doesn't it's distracting and it's annoying even as a
baby face, like why would you want that? Now as

(52:47):
a heel, he's still kind of wearing it, but yeah,
it's generally a trending black type of vibe. But he
needs to land on something. Man, I don't I don't
understand the benefit of him doing this outside of just
maybe he finds it personally. I don't know, a joy
to do for his own his own like fetish or

(53:10):
I don't know. I've never seen this where he just
where he has these outfits that he gets every week
that are that I just go, I shake my head,
I go that this is this is annoying to look at,
you know, I don't. I don't like it. And again
that's not as a heel. Ninety percent of the time
it's been as a babyface, which should not be the reaction.

(53:32):
So yeah, all right, Dom and Finn need to start
getting it into it soon. This storyline has taken over
a year to burn and it needs to get somewhere
before it runs cold. Even if they're waiting for Lib
to come back, they need to end it soon. It's
all for me, help all as well.

Speaker 2 (53:46):
Take care.

Speaker 4 (53:46):
Thank you, Maxim, max Man, thank you from Spotify, thank
you for listening over there. And yeah, I mean I've
been waiting for it. You've been waiting for it. The
world's been waiting for it. I don't know what they're
waiting for to pull the trigger. Maybe they don't want
to break up the Judgment Day officially yet, even though
that group is kind of unofficially dead. If it is
for a Live return, I would still argue you don't

(54:08):
need the Judgment Day to be together to continue the
storyline with Live and Dom and all the rest. You
could still have Lived just return. You know, the fact
that you're trying to keep the you know, the half
breathing corpse of the Judgment Day alive for Live's return
is I don't think it's worth the squeeze here. You
just have Live return and do what she does because

(54:30):
she's awesome and she has revived her career completely over
the last two years. So yeah, I don't know I
would agree, though. Let's just get to Live I'm sorry,
get to Dom and Finn. For the love of God,
now's the time, because now you can Now I think
actually they're really going to do it because you have
you have presumably Dom truly has a babyface. Now all right,

(54:54):
let's go to one I think one more email, and
this is Darius and he says, just want to say
I've been loving the podcast for a long time, but
let's get to my complaints. Now that's my kind of man.
Jay Who's and Cody Rhoads are literally the two most
boring baby faces in the company. So we need to
see a heel turn. Jay has been acting heelish lately

(55:15):
for a for example, spearing La night. Cody Roads is
so boring and ever since he's returned, he hasn't changed.
If we're going to see a Cody turned, it needs
to be when no one expects it. If we're going
to see a Jay Who's so heel turn, it can't
be against Roman or Jimmy because we've gone that.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
Road so many times.

Speaker 4 (55:33):
Yeah, I mean you're not going to get a rebuttal
from me on that. I would argue that Cody's a
better would be a better heel than Jay, although Jay
is a heel.

Speaker 2 (55:43):
Was fun.

Speaker 4 (55:44):
I don't know where you go with Jay because I
think it's more likely that Cody turns before Jay at
this very moment because Jay is now aligned with Roman.
And as you said, and I've said, you're not gonna
have Jay turn on Jimmy or Roman makes no sense
it be It would be a horrendous move.

Speaker 2 (55:59):
By to do that.

Speaker 4 (56:01):
It would be outright rejected by almost everybody because we've
all been there, done that. So no, you can't turn
Ja right now, Cody.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
I just went over it.

Speaker 4 (56:09):
You know, fifteen minutes Ago needs to kick in the
ass with his character. He needs to and again he'll
turn is everybody's initial knee jerk reaction out, Well, it's boring,
turn him heel. It's like, well, before we do that,
let's think of the you know the implications of that.
He's he's our in the speeded Champion. What about the
Royal Rumble?

Speaker 2 (56:25):
What about war games.

Speaker 4 (56:26):
What about You know, you got to think about these things.
We don't just turn him here because you and I
are bored with them, you know, and I'm sure they
are thinking like that. I hope they are. But I'm
all for if the stars are aligning, let's go, I mean,
turn the turn the SOB heel. I think it would
be brilliant. I think Cody Roads would be one of
the best heels we've ever seen. Second complaint is there's

(56:47):
lots of underrated stars and WW is not doing anything
with them. Look at Ludwig Kaiser, He's just being used
as a mask guy to keep the l Grande story
going or Austin theory is just disappe as well.

Speaker 2 (57:00):
Thanks so much.

Speaker 4 (57:01):
Go Boston Celtics. Well, I don't watch basketball too much.
I mean I'll I'll occasionally watch, like or catch up
on what the Knicks are doing. You know, I'm a
very casual, distant Knicks fan, but yeah, I don't feel
that passionately about basketball. However, Sure, go Celtics. Now, yeah,

(57:21):
Ludwig Kaiser, but you could argue that what Kaiser was
doing before was it really better than what he's doing now.
I mean, El Grande Americano was say, taken out a
life of its own. Granted, it's a storyline that most
people are kind of bored with now, but I would
argue was doing something more relevant than he was prior
to being the mask. One of the masked versions of
Old Grande Americano that said too, I would, once this

(57:44):
story is done with ol Grande Americano, give Ludwig Kaiser
an actual run with I run at the Intercontinental title
or something like that, or US title. Have him do
something of relevance. I would agree there's more to Kaiser
than we've seen. And we saw that with Gunther and
with you know when they were to get and you know,
he was slapping around Kaiser and Kaiser was losing, and
you're thinking, Okay, here we go, it's gonna be Kaiser's moment,

(58:06):
and we never quite got it. But I agree, okay,
let's go. I think we have one more voicemail. I
think we have a voicemail here. I don't know if
we have any more voicemail. I'll have to check the
other box here and I'll check my We use Google
Voice here, by the way, and if you want to
call for those that are interested in calling, in. You

(58:29):
can call us and leave us a voicemail. It's five
one eight nine five two zero two four seven. That's
five one eight nine five two zero two four seven.
You call it, leave a voicemail. It's not my personal number.
It doesn't get forwarded to my personal number. It's a
Google voice that automatically takes your uh, you know, your
voicemail and records it up to three minutes. So there, Okay,

(58:50):
I'm not gonna answer and be like, hey, who's this?
You know, kind of weird. So all right, let's get
to the one voicemail we got. I believe it was
DJ Kuzmo, and we'll wrap the show up.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
Here we go.

Speaker 3 (59:00):
This is DJ colesmel back at it again on your
mailback show records.

Speaker 2 (59:04):
You live on a Wednesday board, and you know what
time it is.

Speaker 3 (59:06):
It's time to see.

Speaker 2 (59:08):
His name, man Heppeers.

Speaker 3 (59:12):
I believe in Joe Hendre. I believe in Joe Hendrey.
Best right, folks, Joe Hendry is his name. As I
take you to my sixty fourth episode of the June Report,
and like always, come into your life from an undisclosed location.
Before we begin, I must say that I am back

(59:32):
in the saddle. After being away for a couple of days,
I was in the hospital. I wasn't feeling good, but
you know, it was just a moment of that time
for me to kind of take a break, recuperate, recover,
and get back to what I love to do, and
that is doing these Joe Hendry reports. So I want

(59:53):
to appreciate anybody I was listening and I appreciate those
that have supported me. Thank you Matt for your kind words.
But I'm back and let's get to the Joe Hendry Report.
But before we get to the Joe hendr Report, just
like how last week, life just throw the curveball at me,
I want to talk about a little bit about some

(01:00:14):
Mets baseball. That's right, folks, the New York Mets are
no longer contending for a playoff spot, as once again
we get another epic collapse from the New York Mets
this past Sunday. They just needed to get the final
win of the season against the Florida Marlins to get

(01:00:38):
into the playoffs, and of course they needed the Cincinnati
Reds to lose so that the Mets could get to
the playoffs. Unfortunately, we did get the Cincinnati Reds losing,
but the New York Mets lost to the Florida Marlins
in Florida with a score of four to nothing. And

(01:00:58):
that goes to season, a season filled with so much expectation,
a season where the New York Mets had a payroll
of over three hundred and forty one million dollars. We
got won Soto. There was a lot riding on this
season for the Mets to make it to the World
Series because last year the Mets was in the NLCS

(01:01:20):
when they had to series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
A lot of things are to make to say about
this season, the fact that the Mets, at one point,
the New York Mets had a twenty one game lead
and they had one of the best records in Major
League Baseball in the month of June. But then all
of a sudden, after the first half of the season,

(01:01:41):
things started to come into play. There was a lot
of issues with the pitching rotation and how guys just
could not continue after the fourth and fifth inning. There
were times where we had issues with our bullpen and
we couldn't get strikeouts, so we had to get guys
from Triple A. We had to get the younger kids
like Nolan mcclan and Jonah Toong and even Brandon Sprouts

(01:02:05):
to get these guys into the pitching rotation to see
if that can make a difference. And yet again the
Mets squandered the opportunity when they had the chance to.
They kept losing and losing and losing. The league started
to dwindle as the Philadelphia Phillies took over the NATIONALLYE
East clinched did the division. Now the Mets sit at

(01:02:27):
a record of eighty three and seventy nine with no
playoff spot as they'll be watching the rest of the
playoffs from the comfort or wherever they're going to be
watching this all of the playoffs. But I gotta say
this was a huge disappointment as a Mets fan. I
don't know what's leading into next season because there's gotta
be a lot of changes, especially with the pitching rotation.

(01:02:50):
I don't know if it means that some of the
guys are going to be traded, if they're going to
bring in some free agents, because the pitching rotation needs
to be fixed, the bull pen needs to be fixed.
We brought in guys through free agency and they just
could not execute and now we're at this point where
you know, there's a possibility that some of the guys

(01:03:11):
like Pete Alonzo, he might not be coming back net
season to the New York Mets due to free agency.
Twenty twenty five will be the season, will be the
year that we'll all remember that the Mets had so
many expectations to make it to the playoffs, to make
it to the World Series, but everything came crashing down
to woods the end of the season. Now let's get

(01:03:34):
to the Joe Hendr Report, because this is not a
baseball podcast. I want to take it to what took
place last week on the episode of teena Perl Wrestling.
As we were getting ready for Victor Road that week,
we had a little digital exclusive video of Eric Young
as he was confronting the director of Authority, missed Santina Morella,

(01:03:55):
as he was demanding a match. He wanted a match
against Joe Hendry for Victory Road, and lo and behold,
said Tina Morella. Granted none other than Eric Young that
match at Victor Road. And speaking of Victory Road, let's
get to that. As this event took place last week
Friday live from Edmonton, Alberta. Canada, and we of course

(01:04:19):
we had the matchup of Joe Hendry versus Eric Young,
but prior to the match, Joe Hendry got attacked it backstage,
most likely he might have gotten attacked by Eric Young.
So we see Eric Young comes to the ring as
he is celebrating the fact that Joe Hendry most likely
won't be able to compete in their match. However, as

(01:04:42):
soon as Eric Young said his name, he did up here,
Joe Hendry comes into the ring very furious as the
match begins. However, as we fast forward to the tail
end of the match, after when Eric Young delivered a
low blow to Joe Hendry, Young was distracting the referee.

(01:05:02):
We then see Eric Young's former proteges, both Judas Icarus
and Travis Williams, stopping Eric Young because Eric Young was
tossing a couple of steel chairs into the ring to
most likely try to end the match and get the
victory over Joe Henry. However, because of Judas Icarus and

(01:05:25):
Travis Williams stopping Eric Young from doing that as he
was about to get into the ring, that brief distraction
gave Joe Henry the much needed opportunity to regain his
consciousness and deliver the standing ovation chunk slam and one,
two three, Joe Henry gets the victory over Eric Young,

(01:05:47):
and now we could say, could this be the end
of the feud between Joe Hendry and Eric Young. Let's
see what happens on the next episode of TENA for Wrestling.
But I want to mention a couple of notable things
that took place at Victory Road, especially what took place
with ash By Elegance. Ash By Elegance formerly known as

(01:06:09):
Dana Brook, she came into the ring very sad, very tearful,
and she delivered the news that she had to relinquish
the TNA Knockouts Championship. But the thing was, nobody knew
exactly why she had to do this, But this was
something that I guess she might have been thinking about

(01:06:29):
for the past couple of days, not to share what
was going on in her personal life, but the fact
that she had to do this that she will not
be able to compete. Could this be a possibility that
she's retiring for professional wrestling. I don't know, because ever
since she moved to TNA, Dana Brook aka ash By Elegance,

(01:06:50):
she has been a regular on TNA and it just
brought about her love for professional wrestling because when she
was in WW, Dana Brook was kind of cheated as
a joke, especially by the booker, mister Vince McMahon. But
now with the sudden news that ash By Elegance aka
Danna Brook having to relinquish the Knockouts Championship, Santina Marilla

(01:07:11):
came up with a genius idea to have a Battle Royal,
and this Battle Royal, the final two women in the
Battle Royal will compete for the vacant TNA Knockouts Championship.
So immediately after when ash By Elegance aka Dana Brook
had her announcement that she was going to relinquish the championship,
we then had the Battle Royal and the final two

(01:07:33):
women in that Battle Royal was NXT's Kalanie Jordan. And
of course the fan favorite who is now starting to
grow a little bit of a fan base is Lee Gying.
If you remember her from WW, she was known as
Zaia Lee. So later on in the show we had
the matchup of Lie Ji Ying versus Klanie Jordan. I

(01:07:56):
guess you could say NXT versus TNA for the vacant
TA Knockouts Championship, and after fifteen minutes we have a
new champion and surprisingly it's Kolanie Jordan from NXT. So
now if we just keep that scoreboard check, we have
two wrestlers right now from NXT that have TNA championships.

(01:08:19):
The first one, of course is Trick Williams with the
TNA World Championship, and now we have Kolanie Jordan of
NXT with the TNA Knockouts Championship. And speaking of NXT
versus TNA, I want to now take you to what
took place this past Saturday live from Fort Loodadale, Florida.
This was NXT's No Mercy and one of the mentions

(01:08:42):
that I want to just state on this episode of
the Joe Hendry Report is a very interesting announcement by
the general manager of NXT, missus Ava Rain As. She
made a big announcement that they will be the return
that's right of wwez in Vaion. The last one took

(01:09:02):
place twenty four years ago and now of course was
in two thousand and one, and that of course was
WWE versus the Alliance. Avera Ray made the announcement that
on Tuesday, October seventh. Not a pae, folks, just a
regular episode of NXT on a Tuesday night. We will
have NXT and TNA presents Invasion, and this show will

(01:09:27):
have a couple of matchups. Most likely we will have
two Survivor Series eliminating matchups, one for the men and
one for the women. We will also have, for the
first time ever, a winners take off match for both
the NXT Tag Team Championships and the TNA Tag Team Championships.
Of course, right now, the NXT Tag Team Champions are

(01:09:49):
Dark State and the TNA Tag Team Champions are the
Hardy Boys of Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy. We will
have these matches on October seventh, Tuesday, October seven, literally
next week, Tuesday night on NXT on the CW. I
don't understand why this is not a plee, but this
is going to be a groundbreaking collaboration as once again

(01:10:14):
NXT and TNA are doing great things with their back
and forth on NXT and on TNA. The last thing
I want to mention is that we have a new
NXT champion and that is Ricky Saints. Ricky Saints defeated
Oba Fami to become the new NXT champion. And let's

(01:10:35):
get back to Joe Hendry and most of poorly keep
this in mind that if you just say his name,
he will just randomly uppe and he appeared last night
on NXT. We get a backstage segment of Jordan Grace
and the newly crowned TNA Knockouts Champion Kalani Jordan as
Jordan Grace is congratulating Kalanie Jordan of this new accomplishment

(01:10:59):
that she is now the new knockouts champion for TNA.
But then Kilani tells Jordan she's not too sure as
to where she and Joe align with, whether it's NXT
or TNA. But then Jordan Gray says, you mean Joe Hendry,

(01:11:19):
And as soon as she said his name, he randomly
appeared from behind the door, and Joe tells Klanni, what
do you mean You're not sure? He says, Jordan and I.
But as soon as Joe was about to continue what
he was about to say, here comes Mike Santana as

(01:11:40):
he interrupts and says that as we give up for showdown,
Mike Santana says he's not gonna leave anything up to chance.
With Joe Hendry and Jordan Grace being a part of
this four and four. Joe then tells Jordan Grace, one
of us have to get pitt. Jordan tells Joe, we
have to be a part of this. So far, these

(01:12:04):
are the two teams for Team TNA and Team NXC
as we head to NXT Showdown, which is not going
to be called Invasion anymore. There's some issues with the
name called Invasion, so now it's called Showdown. So Showdown
will be happening this coming Tuesday night on October seven
on the CW. And these are the teams. So we

(01:12:26):
have the Women's TNA team which consists of the captain
Kline Jordan, followed by Jesse McKay and Cassie Lee of
The Inspiration formerly known as The Iconics. And the fourth
member to the Women's TNA team is Mara Shade formerly
known as Jakara Jackson. So that is the women's TNA team.

(01:12:48):
Then we have the women's NXT team, and that's also
a team of four which features the captain in j C. Jane,
the NXT Women's Champion, followed by Lolovice, Jada Parker, and
Soul Rocup who is currently the NXT Women's North American
Champion and the WWE Women's Speed Champion. Now we go

(01:13:09):
to the men's side because we also have a four
and four battle between the men's NXT team and the
men's TNA team. For the men's NXT team, we have
the captain, Ricky Saints, he is the NXT champion right now,
alongside his co captain, as I guess you could say,
in Trick Williams who is currently the ten champion, followed

(01:13:30):
by Miles Borne and the young og himself, mister Javon
Evans to round off the men's NXT team of four.
Then we have the men's TNA team of four and
that consists of the captain and Mike Santana, followed by
the former champion in Moose, the current TNA X Division
champion in Leon Slater, and to round out this four

(01:13:52):
we have the South pra King of TNA, mister Frankie Kazaria.
These guys represent the men's TNA team. So we have
the women's team going against the women's NXT team and
the men's NXT team going against the men's TENA team.
All of these are happening in a four on four
Survivors Series elimination style matchup. That's like I said, it's

(01:14:14):
gonna be happening this Tuesday night on NXT on the CW.
It's not appealing for some weird reason and it is
now called Showdown as opposed to what it was original
supposed to be called Invasion. We also have on the
card itself MUSTA for Ali. That's right, folks, MUSTA for
Ali will be in an NXT North American Championship match

(01:14:36):
against All Ego ethan page which we have another NXT
versus TNA matchup. Fourth matchup that we have on this
card is a winner take all for both the NXT
Tag Team Championships and the TNA Tag Team Championships and
that is the Hardy Boys of Matt Hardy and Jeff
Hardy versus two members of Dark State. I'm going all

(01:14:57):
in on TNA for discom and Tuesday night. I expect
a sweep, a clean sweep against NXT and it's TEENA
all the way. But getting back to Joe Hendry, if
you always remember this, if you just say his name,
he would just randomly ope. Always remember to believe say
his name. Always remember the words that Joe Hendry says, anytime,

(01:15:20):
any place, at any show, and most simpleorly, most simporly,
always remember to do this.

Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
Strong sight silence.

Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
We believe you, he ju. Once again, this is your guy, DJ, Cousmo,
have a blessed week. Be kai to one of those
stays in my friends Believe and peace.

Speaker 4 (01:15:47):
Well, DJ might be the longest one in the history
of the show. Sixteen minutes of a Joe Henry report. However,
last week you did miss it, so I guess that
kind of makes things up.

Speaker 2 (01:15:58):
One thing.

Speaker 4 (01:15:58):
First of all, yes, Joe Henry, appreciate that. Mike Santana,
I appreciate all of that. You keeping us updated on
a show that again, I think the majority of us
aren't watching with Joe Hendry and what he's doing and
the main roster transition that I think he's currently making
right now and you said too, so gonna be fun.
Gonna be fun next couple of months as he transitions
into w we's main roster, which will be I think

(01:16:20):
in twenty twenty six, is what the latest reports are
early twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
Probably the rumble. Probably the rumble.

Speaker 4 (01:16:25):
I said that last year, but this time it's gonna
be like for real, not just a fleeting appearance, but
keep us updated. Now to your Mets again. Here's the
MLB segment for the week. Yeah, I feel bad for
you guys. I know as a Yankee fan that I'm
told that I must hate the Mets. As I've said,
I don't. I feel for you guys. You guys are

(01:16:46):
the fellow New York team. I don't know why the hatred.
I really I don't get it. I guess it's the
big brother little brother, and you guys have always lived
in the shadow of the Yankees and all the rest.
I get the dynamic, but I still I organically don't
feel hate for the Mets. Now, don't get me wrong.
If it's the Yankees versus the Mets and it's a
subway series that we have during the year where it's

(01:17:07):
you know, two games at the stadium, two games and
Met life whatever, yeah, well I want the Yanks is
to you know, beat the Mets's ass.

Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
But that's it.

Speaker 4 (01:17:15):
Outside of that, Like, I don't want I actually don't
want to see the Mets lose during the season. I
want them to win so that we can have a
subway series. I'll at two thousand and what I want
the Yankees to win then, of course, But I don't
understand the hatred for the Mets. It's the Yankees fan,
and someone need to explain me why I'm supposed to
hate the Mets' what's the logic here?

Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
I don't get it.

Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
I'm trying to and I just I can't, you know,
kind of muster up the hatred for the Mets. I
don't get it, but I'm told, you know, I'm told
that I'm just supposed to. And I don't know if
that makes me a fraud or not. But hey, the
Yankees have their own problems right now. Yes, we beat
the Red Sox in the Wild Card. It was a
brilliant performance by Cam Schlitzler. We know that it was

(01:17:59):
an all time time performance. Is he going to duplicate
that in Game four of the Alds if we get
to Game four? Probably not. It's probably gonna be you know,
it's kind of a typical quality start, is what I'd
imagine from Clam Cam Schlitzler in Game four if we
get that far, as I said, and maybe three runs,
six innings. If he does that, great, But Toronto's a

(01:18:20):
good offensive team. They already whipped our ass ten to
one tonight. We'll see what happens tomorrow night as as
the series goes on. I mean, if the Yankees win
tomorrow night, I think they're in decent shape. Because the
pitching matchups are favoring the Yankees. We might be able
to If we win tomorrow night, we could even close
the whole thing out at Yankee Stadium. We can close
the whole thing out. We won't have to go back
to Toronto, and for if we go to you know,

(01:18:41):
Game four and win it there in Game three of.

Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
Course as well. So a lot of work to.

Speaker 4 (01:18:45):
Be done yet. I mean, we haven't won a game
in the Alds yet, but the short series five games
is a short series, and you can't afford really more
than one kind of fluke loss here. And I don't
think it's a fluke loss. I mean our bullpen imploded.
Our starting pitching was underwhelming, but it got Toronto to
what it was a sixth inning, and then they just

(01:19:05):
destroyed our bullpen, which our bullpen sucks. Our bullpen is dog.
It's a dog, you know what. Weaver cannot play the
rest of the Alds. You might bring him back in
the Alcs unless there's a dire need to have a
relief pitcher in everybody else's gassed. You can't bring in Weaver.
You can't do it. Okay, he hasn't recorded an out

(01:19:25):
at all in his two appearances. You can't do it.
Keep him out until the ALCS if we get that far.
But his season as of this moment is done. You
can't do it. So yeah, I mean, we got Freed
tomorrow night, which I think will be good. All right,
Rodn in Game three and Schlitzler in Game four if

(01:19:47):
we get the game four. But I mean again, Yankees
need to win tomorrow night. That's step one, and then
I think we might be able to close it out
in Game three and four. But hey, who knows, we
could get our asses swept, and that's very possible too.
Toronto's a good team. They're a good team. Are the
Yankees better? When the Yankees are at their best, I
think they're better than Toronto's best. But Yankees have been

(01:20:11):
They have been so damn in consistent all year, up
and down and down and up and down for a
forty games, and then they come back and destroy the
bad teams at the end of the year to bolster
their record. Which is the only reason that they nearly
won the American League by literally a tiebreaker they lost
it is because they had a insanely easy schedule for

(01:20:32):
the back half of their season, especially particularly the last
three weeks where they faced just the dregs of the
MLB and they just they beat the hell out of
them bolster their record. And I think people got skewed
about how good the Yankees are because when you're playing
bad teams, you think you're better than you probably are,
and then all of a sudden, you get to the
playoffs and you're obviously going to be playing the best teams,

(01:20:53):
and look what's happening. I mean, yes, again, we beat
the Red Sox, mainly due to Schlitzler's gem of an
all time great performance. But now we're getting into the
real playoffs. Like, I don't consider that. I understand that. Yes, definitionally,
the wild card is the playoffs. It is part of
the playoffs. But to me, the playoffs don't really that's
like the that's like the door to get into the

(01:21:15):
real playoffs, which is starting with the nlds and alds.
That's to me, when you really start the playoffs, because
those teams are the ones that wants the division. Now
you're getting into the real the people that didn't backdoor
themselves into the playoffs, the people that actually again won
their divisions, and the real stuff starts then. And that's
what we're seeing right now with Toronto and that they

(01:21:36):
continue to beat. I wouldn't be surprised if we got
swept in the LDS.

Speaker 2 (01:21:40):
I wouldn't.

Speaker 4 (01:21:41):
I don't hope we don't. But they've got the team
to do it, the offensive team. Here's another thing. I'm sorry,
guys to make this so long about the MLB, but
the playoffs when they come around once a year, I
do I have some opinions on it, and I apologize.
I know it's a wrestling show, but this is the
last thing I'll say. I'm gonn close the show out
if you haven't already done so, all right. The biggest

(01:22:02):
thing too for us, not only is our bullpen a
massive issue, starting pitching's actually improved over the last several months,
it's the offense. The offense in the just in the playoffs,
has seemingly disappeared for the Yankees in years past, like
we get to the playoffs and they just disappear. And

(01:22:25):
right now we have had the biggest, most imposing hitters
do nothing, essentially nothing. Ben Rice had a home run
in the Red Sox series, but Stanton nothing. Judge nothing.
Right now, Judge is getting on base, but he hasn't
yet to really come in and just hammer the ball.

(01:22:49):
He struck out in a big spot tonight in the
sixth inning with the bases loaded, Stanton strikes out a
guy that's usually kind of a sure thing in the playoffs.
Ben or Rice couldn't you know, hit the broadside of
a barn tonight? He was fooled all night by that,
by that. What was he thrown was a curveball or

(01:23:10):
a knuckleball?

Speaker 2 (01:23:12):
It was.

Speaker 4 (01:23:13):
It was just a bad night offensively, but also a
bad night just generally in the playoffs for the offense.
The offense has yet to even show up. So if
the offense can show up, we can have a bad
starter or a bad bullpen game and still kind of
slug our way through it if we get eight, nine
to ten runs. But that has yet to happen. The
offense is a big problem right now because they have
not shown up. So there, all right, I'm off to

(01:23:36):
the MLB. There we go, and I'm done with the show.
So thank you everybody, Thank you DJ, thank it everybody
they emailed.

Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
I appreciate it.
