Speaker 1 (00:00):
Time for the Mailbag.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Here on this Friday, October seventeenth, is we forego the
typical typical intro jingle that we have the twitch. I'm
kind of retiring. It's been part of the show for
too long. Now time to either refresher or just get
rid of it, and for now I'm getting rid of it.
So welcome to the Mailbag. Not a ton of emails today,
but we have other news that we'll talk about and
(00:21):
some other topics, so this won't be a ten minute show,
but it's not going to be an hour. Somewhere in
between is probably where we'll land, and we're going to
have some fun today as we'll get through the emails.
And as a reminder, we do have a restructured Patreon.
If you're on the dollar NXT tier, well that tier
no longer exists. After your month is over, you have
(00:41):
now a jobber tier. It's not really a demotion. It's
essentially the same benefits as you had before, with a
couple of extras. If you look in the page that
we have set up for the job or tier, you
can take a look and see what we have to
offer and other tiers as well. We're getting rid of
the highest tier as well that no longer exists. We're
just kind of making things a little bit more concise,
(01:02):
a little bit more streamlined for you on Patreon, and
i'd encourage you to join Patreon for the foreseeable future,
or try us out for a month or a week,
or what if you'd like at patreon dot com slash
WWE podcast if you want to go ad free and
get rid of everything. All those little peschiads here every
ten minutes, they can just vanish, they can vanish into
(01:23):
thin air if you join us over there. Okay, So
let's get to the mail bag again, a little bit
lighting the emails. That's okay, that's okay. As this show
continues to fail, we'll have lesson or fewer and fewer emails.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
All right, good.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Grief, All right, So let's talk to talk to Stephen,
because Steven says, hey, it's been a while since my
last email. But with the turn of Seth seemingly resulting
of the injury he's sustained at Crown Jewel, I wonder
about the future of the Vision, and I'm curious what
your thoughts are here. Line up the bat, lineup, best
(02:01):
up and comers. Oh I see what you're saying, who
recently came here from an XT and make the vision
of faction of.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
The actual future stars.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
I'm talking about Carmelo Hayes dragging off and maybe even
a call up for Obafemi. Are there other names you
would add to that? What are your thoughts?
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Yeah? I mean, hey, you.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Guys know I'm not an NXT experts. Don't pretend or
claim to be what you have given us. Yeah, I mean,
why not? Here's what I would also say? What about
and again, it depends if you're looking at this to
be a heel group or just maybe something in between.
What about Joe Hendry? I know that he's floating around.
(02:37):
Joe Hendry being the leader of the group may not
be the worst thing in the world if you're trying
to get him on the main roster for you know,
for real this time and not just kind of put
him in take him out, take him in and put
him out and have him float around TNA and all.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
The rest of it.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
I think that this is something that you could do, yes,
O Carmelo Hayes dragging off, Yes, certainly you could do that.
I mean, don't forget too and this has nothing to
do with this group, this vision replacement group, is you
have Gunther coming back at some point he should be
(03:12):
back in the near future.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
You could have him oppose this group. Guntherer could you.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Know what, here's the thing, and this is going off topic,
it's what I do, but Gunther could be a baby
face upon return. It's very possible you could even have
him be the one to reclaim the World championship, assuming
that Seth Rollins is going to drop the belt. We'll
talk more about that in a little bit too. But
how about you gotta Gunner oppose this group. Ludwig Kaiser
is a part of the group. You could have Joe Hendry.
(03:37):
I don't want to get it too big, as you said,
you already had some great suggestions, but if it's just
purely NXT stars, then yeah, I mean I I'll defer
to my audience on that because you guys are more
educated on NXT than I am. Which, by the way,
we're going to be having some new voices on the
so soon that that are going to be taking over
for NXT and taking over for the the the After
(03:58):
Dark Show, so stay tuned for that again as we
continue our rebuild or rebranding of this show. I hope
you guys like the new logo as well. It's not
as interesting, but it's more simplified. And that's kind of
the theme I'm going with, is simplifying things and not
over complicating it. But yeah, I mean, hey, the vision
(04:19):
is going to be if they're going to still call
themselves the vision with Seth Rollins out, you have bron
Breaker and Bronson Reid who right now are certainly breakout
stars or they're trying to make them break out stars.
The Seth Rolins injury is front and center right now
(04:39):
in WWE. He reportedly had so shoulder surgery or he's
about to, and w W is keeping it on the
on the down loan. Now, is this another one of
Seth's feigned injuries? I doubt it. If it is, then
kudos to them. I don't see the need to continue
to try to fake out the audience with injuries that once.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
In a great while.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
It also it's just it gets confusing for the audience.
It gets frustrating of oh, is this a real injuries?
Speaker 1 (05:07):
This legit? Is this legit? Is this legit?
Speaker 2 (05:09):
This one seems legit? With Seth of course wishing him
the best and hopefully he'll be back in time for
WrestleMania is always what we're targeting, you know, and it
seems like several months is the target. Several could mean two,
could mean eight. Hopefully it's on the lower end of
that spectrum and we get Seth back in time for
WrestleMania this year in April in Vegas. Again hopefully, I
(05:34):
mean he depending on the scope of the injury. I mean,
in the most optimistic of situations, you could have him
back in time for the Rumble. In the most optimistic
of situations, of course, if it wasn't there wasn't as
much damage done, the recovery goes as planned or ahead
of schedule, you could have Seth I guess, back in
time for the Royal Rumble. But yeah, that's all just
(05:58):
speculative on my pointint In my end, I don't have
any inside information on exactly what the procedure was, what
the extent of the injury was. Only himself and the
medical team know that, so there. Yeah, but thank you
for the email.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
As we likely talk about Seth rollins, that may be
the focal point of today because it's a big deal yeah,
I mean Seth Rollins getting injured. He I mean it
happened apparently at the match, the match he had with
Cody Rhodes. That's apparently where it happened. I don't know
exactly the spot. There's some injury speculation out there that
(06:36):
had happened on a spot where he did the diving
headbutt across the ring and hit Cody Rhodes. It's very
possible that happened there. We'll get more information once it
becomes actually official from w W or Seth Rollins themselves.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
We'll see. But it's a big deal.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
I mean, I have been critical of WWE pulling the
triggers so quickly. I'm willing to let it play out.
But if it's because of an injury, my question is, okay, fine,
Seth Rollins goes away, the World Championship becomes vacant. Why
did you have to break up the vision? Couldn't you
have Seth Rollins just say I got injured, I'm putting
up the title, I'm vacating it because I'm injured, and
(07:16):
then he goes away. Why would you have the vision
itself break up that you don't need to have both happen?
It felt very premature. I continue to say that without
any real follow up yet, And yes, it is a
bit soon maybe to make a final judgment. We don't
know the full storyline here and how it's going to
(07:38):
be executed or how well it's executed. But my question
just would be a creative Okay, Yeah, Seth's injured, that sucks.
If he's going to be gone for more than a
couple of months, you got to have him vacate the title.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
You just do.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
And if that's the case, though, then why did you
also have to have the Vision break him up? I mean, well,
we needed a way to write him off of TV.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Well, no, you don't.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
You could just have Seth come out and say, hey,
I'm actually injured, my shoulders busted, or he just stops
appearing on TV, Paul haymtt makes an announcement. I mean,
there's a million ways to do it that does not
involve the Vision itself breaking up. So that is interesting.
I know that perhaps he's looking to Wwa's looking to
have Seth Robins versus bron Breaker or Bronson Reid. Upon
Seth's return, He's going to be a big babyface again.
(08:23):
But I thought Seth was doing a great job as
a heel. Nothing seemed out of place, or nothing seemed
like it was being worn thin, or that the storyline
was getting a little bit repetitive. Quite the contrary, I
felt like the things were just getting going for the Vision,
things were just getting started, and the injury derails it.
No doubt, this is not a purely creative decision, but
(08:45):
the creative decision to have the vision breakup was WWE's decision.
The injury, of course is not and it's out of
everyone's control. But the attachment to that of having the
vision break up is part of creatives. That is something
that was manufactured. So you would think that Seth versus
(09:06):
Braun is going to be happening upon his return, and
there goes Seth being a babyface again. He's gonna need help.
So who helps Seth oppose the Vision?
Speaker 1 (09:16):
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Could you dare have Roman reigns aligned with Seth if
they have a common enemy, I guess. But Seth has
been so forthright every step of the way for years
that he wants nothing to do with Roman, nothing to
do with Roman. It would certainly undermine his character if
he were to align with Roman to take on the
Vision to even the odds. If they still call themselves
(09:41):
a Vision, I would imagine they're still going to call
themselves that because it's a nice name. It's a catchy name,
it's marketable. I think it fits even without Seth there.
It hurts, but it still fits. If Paul's there and
you have Braun and Bronson and maybe they have a
third person rejoin. Maybe they have their own quote unk
vision of what this group should be pun intended, and
(10:03):
maybe they do add a third person to make it
a true faction, because let's be honest, it can't be
a faction until it's three. Three is the bare minimum.
So lots of moving parts here, lots of question marks,
lots of follow up, lots of when.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Does Seth come back?
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Why did they have the Vision breakup because of the injury?
Speaker 1 (10:25):
You know?
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Where does Brown Breaker go? Are they trying to make
Broun a world champion? Bron still seems to be the
star of that group, of that team now, so do
they try to aim Seth aim for Seth versus Bron
while Bron's world champion for WrestleMania Bron versus Seth at WrestleMania.
It's not impossible bron versus Seth at WrestleMania. I mean,
(10:49):
WWE has been very very clear that they envisioned Braun
Breaker being the WrestleMania made event for several years, which
is a stupid proclamation to make. You can't set the
bar that high for a guy that has just really
gotten his career going. That's ridiculous. But it could happen
(11:11):
this year with Seth versus Brownbreaker WrestleMania. I'm not projecting
that just yet. We'll see where they go with Braun
and this presumed vacated world title. But yeah, I know
that this is really not in your scope of the email, Steven.
You're more worried about what the NXT version of this
could be with a new call ups being a part
(11:33):
of this new vision. But I think you're onto something
when it comes to the NXT talent, maybe a call
up or two being a part of this new envisioned vision.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
So all right, thank you, Steven? All Right?
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Is that actually it? Maybe I'm also a little bit
early on the show here. Normally it's something that I
do a little bit later in the day, which is
maybe why we don't have as many emails. But but
we do have a couple of voicemails, so let's get
to those and then we'll get to some other news
in w w A.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
It's tropical through our side from the last one. I
I don't know if to think of that moment. What
I wanted to say is that with I want to
talk about Becky Lynch and aj Lee now mainly Ajle
in particular. Where is she? She just disappeared out of
sin Air. I don't know where she went, and I
don't know if back he's having a match next week
that's vaccine again or I thinks pootape title, which I don't.
(12:36):
I mean, I guess I ventually it was for the
previous week. She got her stuff counted out and you
know I got back, I got stuff cut it out.
But it's like, where's where's a j Lee? We need
to see she should show back up one Monday, I
resume to start the sewe between the between the tube
after as the polue that she just disappeared so she
(12:58):
would have this with her Volvan Rapston Perez. I really
hope she is to end up becoming a breakout star
moving coming out of the match with Stephanie next week,
I hope. So I need her to be like, get
the ball rolling with her more and have her get
away for her being part of a tax team because
it's not necessary by the way about Lid Morgan, and
(13:20):
I feel this way about rap Stan takes the necessary
for herb and Miquel being a team for no reason.
When I left Living still out, I think, you know,
they'd be a good first opponent for Stephanie's rapscan and
let's get the ball rolling with Rapstan's character. Give me
a reason to care about her. So that's my starts
there again. I'm sorry about the first call. It was
(13:41):
really weird, but anyway, uh, that's just replify.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Kyle.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Well, yeah, I heard your first voice mail. Just had
nothing on it, I mean, nowhere about it. So where
is aj? That's a good question, you know. When we
Aj came back in, I think we were all a
little bit, you know, kind of speculating on how often
we could see her. Is it just going to be
this one off? Is this going to be more of
(14:09):
a long term run. Is this going to be a
more full time schedule. I'm glad that we're not seeing Aja,
and I don't mean that because I don't think she's
a massive star in the company, one of the biggest
women's returns of all time. It's because when she's there,
it's special. She's also aged just I mean factually she's aged.
I mean the way she looks, she has it. I
(14:31):
mean she's in some kind of other dimension when it
comes to being able to avoid space and time. But
when it comes to just biology, I mean she's older,
which means she's more prone to injury.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
It's just a fact.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
So that means I do and I'm okay with seeing
her less. I don't need to see her every week.
I don't want her on house shows. If I was
the company, I wouldn't. I would just continue to push
forward with when she's needed. When there's a big story,
you bring her back. She could be on somewhat part
time schedule like her her husband is, although he's he's
(15:03):
getting closer to more full time than anything. But I
think AJ is totally fine kind of coming out of
the woodwork every month or two and then you know,
stating her case of why she wants a match or
a title shot or whatever. So I'm okay with that.
And maybe they just don't have anything for her right now.
You know, AJ, I don't think is gone. I think
she is and does have some kind of w W
(15:25):
hopefully as some kind of plan for her through WrestleMania.
She's too big of a start to not utilize. You
have her in a position where fans gravitate. I mean,
she's a needle mover when it comes to ratings too.
If you look at the minute by minute ratings. I
know a lot of people don't, but there is a spike,
a significant spike in ratings when she's on, Especially for
(15:45):
her return, there was a pretty big spike. And when
you look at that, if you're the company, you're like, hey, yeah,
we got an asset here, let's not overuse it. So
I think that AJ will be back. You know, I
don't need to see her every week, given her age,
and I want something important for her to do, not
just kind of be wallowing in the women's division with
(16:07):
no direction. Not someone like her. So also, you know
you're talk about Becky Lynch Roxanmperez. Rox Samperez does seem
to be a bit of a you know, on a
breakout here. Is she going to be world champion maybe
within the year or six months. I mean it's possible.
Don't forget the Live Morgan's close to returning from what
I understand the reports on Live Morgan is close to returning,
(16:28):
which means that she has a claim to that World championship.
She has a claim to that World championship because she
never lost it. She had a relinquish hip because of
an injury. So with that said, Live Morgan on her
way back is going to be eyeing that World Championship
and also by default has a beef with Roxane Perez,
who was kind of you're creating a divide between her
(16:52):
and Dominic when they were together. So they think that
Roxanmperez and I mean Live Morgan is going to probably
be a baby face upon her return, and it's going
to be a huge reaction for her. I mean, how
about Live Morgan in aj Lee? I mean, two big
baby faces. It doesn't seem likely right now, both aren't
even actively wrestling right now, but that's an interesting kind
(17:14):
of matchup aj Lee versus Live Morgan when they want
to get there all right and speak of the devil
or I guess I don't know, he's not a devil,
but we do have an email that came in as
we were recording here and DJ.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
It's mister DJ. Cuzmo, let's get to him, he says.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Boy, I got to say, I did not expect to
see the vision turn this soon on Seth, even though
it was later mentioned that Seth had a lingering injury
that require surgery, but I didn't see it coming. This
reminded me of when the judgment they turn on Edge Yes,
before the Hell On is sal in twenty twenty two. Yes,
I made that same comparison. It's very much like that,
(17:55):
But just one question remains. Who will see him punk
Face for the potentially vacant world title at Saturday Night's
main event, which is literally two weeks away. I think
that's kind of simple. He's going to be part of
a elimination match, or he could be. I mean, if
the title's vacant, that means you're gonna have more than
just cmpunk challenging for it. You're gonna have probably a
(18:18):
few other guys. You could have bron Breaker challenging for it.
You could have La and I challenging for it. But
if it's one on one because he earned that, then
it probably is bron Breaker versus seth rollins. I'm sorry,
bron Breaker versus Sampunk. That seems to be where they're
going if they're going to have a one on one,
but you also have to have bron Breaker earn that shot,
(18:39):
assuming the world title's vacant. Two quick SmackDown mentions. I
like the showing of Zelena Veger with her husband Alistair
Black last week during the stand a Last Man Standing
and maybe this could potentially lead to some sort of
power couple dua on SmackDown with them, and hopefully Black
gets more opportunities to speak because he's really good with
the promos, especially the ones he cut in an ae W. Yeah,
(19:00):
I have been screaming from the rooftops about Zelena Vega
for years. I mean, if you've listened to me, you
know that Zelena Vega has been at the top of
my list of women that WWE needs to pay more
attention to. And sure they gave her a little run,
but they didn't do much withther. They haven't done much whither.
They especially a lot of promo time either for her
or her husband, which is a shame because both are good.
(19:24):
Both are really good when they want I mean not
a plus, but they're like B level B plus promos.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
They're good and.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
I would agree. I mean, they could make them a
power couple to do what though challenge I.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Mean Rollins is out. I mean who would they go after?
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Though?
Speaker 2 (19:40):
I guess the question would be like, where would they
go with this power couple? Okay, lastly, boil Boy Tomatonga's back.
Now Solo's MFT group has a full squad of five.
Hopefully Creative builds them up stronger. It seems like their
next opponents might be the Wide Six.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Probably, it seems to be where they're going, Solo's MFT group.
I mean Tomatanga being back, he's the biggest star or
I actually think Talatanga is, but just because of its size. However, Tomatonga,
I mean, I know, they have new face paint and
they look different, which is good. They needed a refresh
of some sort, even if it is a bit superficial.
(20:18):
They need something to kind of shake things up the
Wide Six versus them. It's the it's the the calculus
works here. I mean, you have a baby face group
that has not yet faced this big heel group. It
just fits. I have no worries about it. This isn't
really about Championships. It's about creating the moments, and it's
about really having all of these men have something significant
(20:41):
to do. And I don't think, I honestly don't think
there's gonna be any kind of massive consequence that comes
out of whoever ends up winning this ultimate rivalry. But
it's fun to see them. It's new, and boy don't
we love We love new stuff as fans, don't we.
So okay, so let's get to DJ's Joe Hendry report,
and then we're gonna talk about WWE and the UH
(21:03):
management talking about how Saudi Arabia is quote the logical
next step yeah, which is of course ludicrous. But let's
get to DJ first before we go off on a
massive rant and take it away.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
DJ, this is DJ Coles melt Back added again on
your mail Mac show Records. You live on a Wednesday
board and.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
You know what time it is. It's time to see
his name man, he peers.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
I believe in Joe Hendry.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
I believe in Joe Hendry.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Dish right, folks, Joe Hendry is his name. As I
take it to my sixty six episode of the Georgia Board,
l A always coming to live from an undisclosed location.
Now let me take it to what took place last week.
Go to the episode of TD par Wrestling as you were
getting ready for ten Day's Bound for Glory. On this episode,
in the main event, we had Joe Hendry versus Eric
Young in a good old fashioned no disqualifications match. Bash
(22:00):
lasted fourteen minutes and thirty seconds. However, Joe Hendry was
not in his usual ring gear attire. We saw Joe
Hendri wearing his white fitted jeans with white kneet caps
and white wrestling boots. This match also featured a trash
can a steel chain that was used by Eric Yugg
to try to choke the life out of Joe Hendry.
(22:20):
We also saw the use of a steel chair and
a steel pan cooking trade. Through the course of this match,
we saw Joe Hendrick and ye Eric Young brawling in
the entrance trap. Of course, there were brawling inside the ring.
Then there were brawling in the crowd all over the
Impact zol. There was a very interesting part of this
match where we saw a masket individual in the crowd
(22:41):
with a sign that read the cleanse is coming? Is
this person affeeliated with Eric Young? Let's see what happens.
But as we fast forward to the course of this match,
as we get to the tail and afterward, Joe Hendry
ducked it out of the way from an incoming Eric
Young with a pand Trader's had. Joe Hendrick goes for
the angles slab on Eric Young onto the steel chair
(23:01):
spied first. Oh my goodness, that gotta hurt. Joe quickly
goes for the cover, but Eric Young kicks out at two.
Joe Hendrick can't believe it. As he is frustrated with
himself dead, he goes for the steel chair that was
outside the rig in an attempt to finish the match
off with Eric Young at getting the victory. Joe Hendry
as he gets ready to go for this standing ovation
choke slab as he is telling Eric that he's gonna
(23:23):
put him into the chair, all of a sudden, Eric
Young goes for a low blow on Joe Hendry. Eric
Young goes for the apolo driver Joe onto the steel
chair and one, two three. Eric Young gets the victory
in this main event match. As this could possibly be
the end of their feud between Eric Young and Joe Hendry,
But the question is has the cleanse as another that
(23:46):
Eric Young said, has it begun, Let's see. We had
three NXT live events that took place on October ninth,
on a Thursday, October tenth, on a Friday, and October eleventh.
On October ninth, we had an NXT Live event in Columbus, Ohio,
but there was no appearance of Joe Henry. On Friday,
October tenth, they were in Detroit, Michigan, and there was
no appearance of Joe Hendry. Then on Saturday, October eleventh
(24:09):
in Cleveland, Ohio, we yet again did not get an
appearance of Joe Hendry. However, we did get an appearance
of Omas As apparently it looks like Omas might be
doing a couple of NXT Love even shows in the
attempt that we might get to see Omas back on TV,
most likely on NXT. And speaking of Friday, October tenth,
(24:30):
I want to take it to an indie wrestling promotion
down in Queens, New York, as we had the House
of Glory event called When Glory Comes Pride. I want
to mention this because this is very interesting. This match.
We had a main event match of the Hardy Boys
of Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy as they took on
the House of Glory Tag Team Champions none o their
(24:51):
dead main event which feasturs Jay Leon and Midas Black.
This match was for both the House of Glory Tag
Team titles and the NXT t Tag Team titles alongside
the TNA Tag Team titles in a winner take all match.
This match lasted fifteen minutes and forty one seconds, as
we now have new House of Glory champions in the
(25:11):
Hardy Boys. As now the Hardy Boys have three sets
of tag team titles, the NXT Tag Team titles, the
TNA Tag Team titles, and now the House of Glory
Tag Team titles, as they had a throwing victory against
the main events this past Friday in Queens, New York.
And speaking of the Hardy Boys, they were part of
(25:32):
the event called TNA's Bound for Glory, which took place
this past Sunday. And let's quickly get to this memorable
event which happened live from Lowell, Massachusetts, and I just
want to quickly recap some of the matches, of course,
with the NXC versus TNA. The first match that I
want to quickly recap is for the TENA Knockouts World title,
(25:52):
and like how I predicted, Kalane Jordan defeated Indy Hartwell
in twelve minutes and thirty one seconds to retain the
TNA Knockouts World title. The other match that I want
to focus on, which was I predicted, was that of
the TNA Ex Division title, and that was the matchup
of Leon Slater versus Javon Evans TNA versus NXT. This
(26:15):
match lasted twenty one minutes and forty three seconds. You
have to watch this match. This was absolutely amazing. I
would put this on my top ten list of best
matches for twenty twenty five. We had both of these
guys going all out in this match with their amazing,
amazing wrestling abilities inside and outside the ring. However, this
(26:38):
match had a twenty minute time limit, so when we
got to the time limit, the announcer mentioned that the
match ended in a time limit draw. The crowd in Lowell,
Massachusetts began to boom and chanted boo boo, you know
the thing. And then we got to see the Director
(26:59):
of Authority miss to Santina Morella as he comes out
and makes a very important update to this match and
that he wants to add another five minutes to the
thrilling matchup between Leon Slater and Javon Evans for the
TNA X Division Championship. So now I guess you could
say this was now an overtime session as we had
these extra five minutes for this match. But unfortunately, the
(27:22):
match gets ruined because of NXT's Dark State as they
come in and attack both Leon Slater and Javon Evans.
The match ends in a no contest, and I guess
you could say Leon Slater retains the TNA X Division Championship.
I want to see these two guys go at it again,
this time without Dark State. But could there be a
(27:44):
possibility that Leon Slater and Javon Evans could have a
tag team match against one of the two members of
Dark State. Let's see what happens as we still have
this continuation of the NXT versus TNA. Then we get
to the semi main event, and that was the one
final table match for both the NXT and TNA Tag
team titles, a matchup of The Hardy Boys versus Team
(28:07):
three D aka the Dudley Boys. This match lasted fifteen
minutes and forty one seconds. Unbeknownst to everyone, this would
eventually become a retirement match for Team three D because
the Hardy Boys retained the championship in a very bittersweet
matchup against their old town rivals in none other Dan
(28:29):
Team three D. After the match, we saw both Bully
Ray and Devon unlaced their boots and gave them to
the Hardys. They shared an emotional hug as myself and
everybody that was in Lowell, Massachusetts watching this match had
a tear in their eye because this was the end
(28:50):
of an era. One of the greatest tag teams of
all time, the Hardy Boys, the Dudley Boys. Now we
are now seeing this that they are no longer going
to be facing each other, and this was the final
time that we got to see the Dudee Boys. As
everybody was chanting for the Hardys and everybody was also
chanting for the Dudleies. This was a great moment leading
(29:12):
into the main event, and that, my friends, was what
I'm going to be focusing on here, and that was
Trick Williams versus Mike Santana for the TNA World title.
That match lasted sixteen minutes and twelve seconds, which had
a couple of shenanigans with Frankie Kazarian, and of course
we had Ryan Nemeck came in, But overall we did
(29:35):
get to see at the end a brand new champion
in Mike Santana, as he's now the new TNA World Champion.
He has been waiting for this moment for such a
long time and now it has finally happened that Mike
Santana is bringing back the TNA World Title back to
TNA and it is no longer in the hands of
(29:56):
an NXT star. Postmatch, he did see Mike Santana's daughter
as he was sharing an emotional hug with his daughter.
At first, Mike Santana bends down and hands over the
TNA World title to his daughter, as this was another
bittersweet moment, another emotional moment to see Mike Santana become
(30:19):
the TNA World Champion, fulfilling the promise that he made
to his daughter a couple of months ago that he
will become a champion once again. And that is how
TNA barf glory comes to an end. But back to
Joe Hendry Ohs, remember this, if you continue to say
his name, he might just.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Randomly up here.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
Always remember to believe say his name. Always remember the
words that Joe Hendry says anytime, any place, at any show,
and most simporly, most simporly, always.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Remember do to this.
Speaker 4 (30:52):
Sight science.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Well believe to here.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Once again, this is your guy, DJ Coulsbo, have a
blessed week, big guy, to one of those stays in
my friends.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
Believe at peace. All right, DJ, thank you sir for
that good timing just he had just made it. I
have to say thank you for that. And the Bound
for Glory review and Mike Santana being a new champion. Uh,
that's certainly something that I think we should pay attention
to because that that Bound.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
For Glory event.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
Even if you aren't a WW fan, if you're if
your algorithm points to wrestling, I think that you got
some some uh you know, you likely had something to
come across your feet. And probably the Team three D
versus the Hearty's is a lot of what people saw
at Bound for Glory, which you know, again, what do
you expect these these these four men are collectively over
(31:52):
two hundred and fifty years old when you put all
their you know, of course all their ages together. But
this is something that what nostalgic and as you said,
though also kind of pointed them in a new direction
with Mike Santana being the champion. It's nice to hear
about Dark State. I've said this a few times on
this show. I love Dark State. I love the name
of the group. It's such a kind of it sounds
(32:16):
very mature, it doesn't sound like a gimmicky group. I
like the name very much. So nice to hear what
they're doing. And I appreciate your updates and your passion
for what you're doing here and following what they're doing
in Queens as well. You know, maybe I'll come down
there for a freaking wrestling event because they don't have
too much up here in Albany. I think they have
(32:38):
a SmackDown coming on November fourteenth, you know, and sadly
Johnson is not going to be here, so I think
that got a lot of people down. But yeah, I
mean I have not been in New York City for
wrestling since WrestleMania twenty at Madison Square Garden. I mean
I was there for that, but I've been to New
York City in a while for wrestling. So anyway, thank you, DJ.
(33:00):
We'll come back to you next week. Hope you enjoy
the weekend. I hope everyone's enjoying their fall weekend.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Here.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
Now, let's get to something that really irked me over
the last couple of days, and even more so than
Mark Shapiro talking about how they're not pricing for families.
I've already gone over that, which is a stupid thing.
It's just a stupid, damn thing to say if you're
a publicly trade a company that is trying to hopefully
look to the future and not just worry about short
(33:27):
term gains. But that's what you say when you're thinking
about short term gains is we're not worried about families.
We're worried about making the most money. I mean, you're
just an idiot. You're just playing business stupid for saying
something like that. And until the fans continue to decide
or start to decide, we're not going to pay for
these tickets, WWU is going to find out how far
they can push it, because their main goal right now
(33:49):
is maximizing the amount of profit in a short period
of time. And I know that the tickets for the
Saturday Night It's main event on December thirteenth in Washington,
d C. The tickets are impossible to get the queue
with tens of thousands of people long. It broke the internet.
I understand all that people couldn't get tickets. Ticketmaster crashed.
(34:10):
I mean, I understand it's John seen his last match.
But here what I would say, just collectively to close
that point out, is we need as a collective fan
base to stop paying these exorbitant amounts for ticket prices.
We need to stop doing that because it's enabling WWE
to say, oh, wait, they paid for this, what if
they pay what if they pay about five ten percent higher?
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Can we keep going? Can we keep going?
Speaker 2 (34:33):
They're going as high as they can go. We need
to stop paying it. We need to stop buying these tickets.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Stop it.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
I know that you want to go see the WWE.
I understand that, and of course you do what you want.
But if it was up to me, I would have
everyone just stop paying for these not every event. I mean,
some of the live events are reasonably priced, but even
some of the crappy seats for televised events are going
for double what they used to much less. A ple e,
I mean, forget it, you go to a ple Even
(35:03):
the nosebleeds are what lower section used to be it's ridiculous.
But my point is not about this. Actually, my point
is about Nick con who said recently regarding Saudi Arabia
inre WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia for next WrestleMania WrestleMania forty three.
(35:25):
Here's what he said, and I quote it was a
natural next step for us. Keep that in mind in WWE,
we realized the number of years ago that we can't
simply pipe American product out globally and hope to be
a global product. You have to have boots on the ground.
If you look at what we've done with our premium
live events over the last few years, about half of
(35:45):
those now take place outside of the United States. We're
eight We're in the eighth year of a long term
partnership with Saudi Arabia, which is just yeah, we're bringing
Royal Rumble here at the end of January. It's the
first time Roll Rumble, which is their second biggest event,
will take place outside of the US or Canada. WrestleMania
(36:06):
twenty twenty seven will be here in April, first time
ever since of WrestleMania will be outside of the US
or Canada. We're excited. We think viewership is going to
be strong. We think people will come to the Kingdom
to see our show, and we're going to put on
a spectacle. And he goes on and on and on. Okay,
(36:27):
tell me it's the logical step.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
Exactly.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
How is it the logical step to go to a
country that the majority of the fan base, the core
fan base, despises when you go there for a myriad
of reasons. I understand they're trying to expand globally. Hey,
nothing wrong with that. I mean, I can't fault them
for that. That's the that's their strategic plan. They want
(36:54):
to expand globally. Even though they have their product available
for viewing globally anywhere like on Earth you can watch it.
They want to actually have shows, live shows in these
places because they feel it's the best way to expand globally.
Now they're probably right if you want to truly make
(37:14):
this a global, a much more globally focused.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Organization. I get it.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
They're trying to maximize their revenue streams by going into
these different countries putting on these live events much more
than they used to. I cannot fault them for that.
Many companies have done this. I mean, many companies have
a global strategy, and when you put yourself into a
global strategy, you kind of alienate a little bit your
initial your core base that they're relying on us, meaning
(37:42):
the United States fans and Canada Canadian fans to stick
with them even though they're not going to be putting
on as many events in our countries anymore, because they're
ex commanding globally, which has been very apparent over the
last couple of years of how many damn events are
not in the United States. We know that, we know
(38:03):
they're trying to certainly make this a much more expansive product,
and good for them, you know, I will say that, Okay,
but how is it the logical next step? How exactly
is it the logical next step to go to a
country that has a myriad of human rights violations. Now,
(38:26):
not every country you could say, has its faults. Every country,
including the United States, you could. I mean, if you
want to make the case that companies should only exist
and perform and try to expand into countries that are
totally absolute, you know, they're they're void of any kind
of wrongdoing. It doesn't exist. No country on earth has that.
There's no country on this planet that has a completely
(38:50):
clean record, right, we know that, but Sauni Arabia particularly
is egregious and they when you look at their record
and their current record and what they're still trying to do,
it certainly is a bit suspect.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Think about this.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
They didn't allow women's wrestling until twenty nineteen. Even then
the women had to essentially wear potato sacks to the ring. Right,
we remember that it was it Naomi versus.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Who was it? I can't remember, I forget who it was.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
But they didn't allow women's wrestling until twenty nineteen. They
still currently don't believe in free speech. People aren't allowed
to protests. Women are still to this day systematically discriminated against.
They do nothing but spew propaganda about how beautiful reality
(39:53):
is and that you should come here and it's a destination.
It's nonsense. This country when it comes to it's you know,
again coming from an American and I'm guessing if you're
from Canada, you probably agree with me on some of
these points, regardless of your political affiliation. This most of
what they do and the way they rule is gross, right,
(40:18):
I mean, they are a monarchy. They essentially have a king, Okay,
not the one that they pretend is in the United
States that is really not in Donald Trump I'm talking about,
they actually have one, and there aren't really free and
fair elections. And again this is getting a little bit political.
But when you're looking at where they're celebrating that WrestleMania is,
(40:39):
it doesn't match up with any of the values nearly
any of them, that most of their fan base currently holds.
And we hear about the constant stories going on, and
they try to suppress some of the news, the bad
stuff coming out of Saudi Arabia and all the blood,
money and all that stuff. It's not a country that
really anyone you could tell me if I'm wrong, anybody
(41:00):
from the United States or Canada or even the UK.
We'll get to them in a minute. Would you pack
up their stuff and be like, man, yes, what a
great place to go. Oh man, uh, family, get your stuff.
I'm quitting my job. We're going, of course not, because
we all know what Saudi Arabia really is and is not.
Now does that really matter? Why does this matter when
(41:22):
it comes to WWE being in there, and why do
we hate Saudi Arabian pls so much?
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Well number one.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
There again, the beliefs that I said it does, even
though it's wrestling, the news and the complete polar opposite
of beliefs and the way that they run things in
Saudi Arabia, it does actually matter to fans that use
their brains for more than three and a half seconds.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
That stuff does exist.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
When you're not you don't want to support WWE going
into a country that you fundamentally just don't agree with
anything that they do on right, and we're supposed to
celebrate the fact that they just allowed women's wrestling six
years ago, you know, I mean, it's preposterous, but also
it's super far away, right, It's super far away. And
WWE is banking on the fact that they're going to
(42:07):
have people coming in from all over the country, all
over the world. I hope that doesn't happen.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
Now.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
That doesn't mean they won't fill the stadium. I think
they will. They might even claim it to sell out.
But I'd love to know the makeup of that audience,
of said audience in that stadium. I would love to
know from a geo perspective, from a geographic perspective, where
these people are from, because I hope almost nobody from
(42:36):
the United States or Canada comes. I hope nobody from
the UK comps. I hope it is completely local fans
that go. Why even though they would sell out and
they'd make their money, because that would send a message
to WWE we ain't going to these places. Is anyone
in the sound of my voice going to be purchasing
(42:56):
WrestleMania forty three tickets and then also purchasing tickets plane
tickets to Saudi Arabia and not concerned about maybe their safety?
Who the hell is going to Saudi Arabia in the
sound of my voice unless you're in Saudi Arabia.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
I hope no one.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
I mean again, do what you want. It's your money,
your life. But I am hopeful that nobody in that
audience is from outside of said country within like a
fifty mile radius, because I want I hope that sends
WWI message, no, we aren't coming here, screw you. And
on top of that, we're not going to be continuing
to purchase the tickets that you are gouging us for
(43:36):
and voluntarily people are voluntarily purchasing this. I mean, no
one's forcing you, No one's a gunpoint forcing you to
purchase tickets. Fans are doing this on their own, of course,
but it's preposterous that they believe that this is the
natural next step. That's the other part, that's the natural
next step.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Really okay? Uh oh, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
There's another place that has been does deserving a WrestleMania
much more.
Speaker 1 (44:02):
What's it called?
Speaker 2 (44:03):
I can't think of, Oh London? Yeah, maybe the UK
that has been more than deserving of a WrestleMania. Do
you want to talk about logical next step? That is
a logical next step that's also out of the country
for the first time. How is London not your top choice?
How is London the fans that are rabid over there,
(44:26):
that are incredibly loud, that give you everything they have
at every event, that show up, that pay their prices
and pay the tickets and have done it for decades
and have been asking and asking and asking for WrestleMania.
How have they not been the first awarded a WrestleMania
(44:48):
for the first time outside of the North North America?
How the hell is it not the UK? I feel
for those fans. It's total crap that they aren't the
first ones. Could you imagine the O two Arena in London.
Could you imagine how loud it would be. There would
not I don't care what's going on in the ring,
there would be not a single moment of silence or
(45:10):
even decibels below ninety. I mean, it would be incredible.
But I have the answer.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
I know why. We all know why. It's the same
reason that New Orleans.
Speaker 2 (45:22):
Got completely shafted in this year's WrestleMania and it got
pushed back to Vegas. It's the same reason that WWE
is promoting now, according to Mark Shapiro, not to families.
You know what, it is really complicated, It's really difficult
to figure out. I know, the calculus is a little tough.
It's money, something called money, That's what it is. Saudi
(45:46):
Arabia is loaded with this stuff called money that WWE
loves to take and they are cashing in because I'm
sure London, in what they were going to be able
to bid for ussel Mania forty three was nowhere near
what Saudi Arabia was able to bid for WrestleMania forty three.
Because they can blow anyone out of the water. The
(46:07):
amount of money they have is stupid, and they're using
it to bring WWE to their country, using wwef course,
as a platform to promote their propaganda that this is
a great place to visit, which is not. I mean again,
unless you you want to go there and I don't know,
see the buildings or whatever you want to do. You know,
(46:28):
it's just my personal opinion, but they're trying to, of course,
just shove propaganda on your throat about how great the
city is. It's not personally, I don't think it is
to me personally, not speaking on behalf of anybody else.
So it also concerns me moving forward that with as
much money as RIAD has and the government has to
bring WWE to the country, how many more times are
(46:52):
they going to outbid every other place? I mean, this
is not going to be the last time WrestleMania is
in Reod. It's not as if we're going to say, oh, okay,
find this sucks, WrestleMania be here, but let's just get
over get it, get done with it, and then it'll
go to the UK the next year, or it'll come
back to North America. I wouldn't be so sure with
how money focused this new brand of WE headed up
(47:16):
by TKO owned by TKO is, I would not under
any circumstance be confident that this is the one and
only WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia. In fact, I'd be concerned
about WrestleMania forty four and forty five and forty six.
People are I mean outside of RIAD, I'm sure that
(47:36):
could you. I mean, the fans all over the world
are outside of RIAD are like, what the what is happening?
But we all know it's not hard to figure out.
It's about the cash, and they are cashing in and
taking as much money from RIAD as they can and
from Saudi Arabia as they can, and the ticket prices
are going to be stupid. It's going to price out.
(47:59):
I mean, forget about families, even middle upper class people
outside of the outside of RIOD, outside of you know,
outside of Saudi Arabia, or looking at this, I'm saying yeah, no, no,
thank you, no, thank you, and I hope that that
trend continues.
Speaker 1 (48:17):
All right. That'll do it for me.
Speaker 2 (48:19):
