Speaker 1 (00:02):
This is WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre, and you're listening to
the WWE podcast show.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
The one that everybody wants me godet fore sixteen. So
just we your ass is my Ron. You're gonna acknowledge me.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
All right, everybody, Welcome to the Crown Jewel Review here
on the ww podcast for this Sunday, October twelfth, twenty
twenty five. Crown Jewel is now in our rear view
as we're going to go through it match by match
to this afternoon or this evening, depending on when you're
listening to this. But it's in the books, and I
think it was one that delivered. It delivered at exactly

(00:56):
the level that I actually kind of thought it would
good wrestling, some Match of the Night candidates, so you
can make arguments for. And now we get to look
forward to the next PL which, if I'm not mistaken here,
let me look at the schedule here it is okay, well,
Halloween Havoc is for NXT, but the next one is

(01:18):
Saturday Night's main event on November first, that's taking place
in Salt Lake City. So it's the stop gap pl
that's unnecessary, but WW wants to do it, so that
comes to us in three weeks from is it three weeks? Yeah,
three weeks, about three weeks from Salt Lake City and
then it's a much more, much more consequential event in

(01:42):
San Diego for War Games on November twenty ninth. So
there you go, John Cena with four dates left. He
ends up defeating aj Styles. I'm fine that he did.
As I talked about in the preview show, didn't really
matter who won this because it was all about nostalgia.
John Cena pulling out the tombstone, pulling out the h

(02:07):
the bray White's finish sister Abigail. That was great, too unexpected.
I don't care what he does at this point doesn't
even matter. I mean, he could just do finish finishing
maneuverses for his entire match, the rest of the matches,
and it won't matter because we're all just here to
just you know, sing the praises and throw flowers at
the feet of John Cena, which I'm honestly getting kind
tired of. It's been a year long adventure for that,

(02:30):
a year long journey of every place he goes, except
when he was here, of just giving John Cena his flowers,
and while I'm going to miss John Cena as most
of us are, and we should appreciate while he's here
and take up every second that he's here. I think
we can agree that the part of him being just

(02:50):
showered with love every single time for I mean, how
long does this? I mean, I'll say this, how many
people have gone through a year long retirement tour to
say goodbye and say thank you for this long? Now,
you could argue John Cena is deserving of it, but
it's not fun for the at home viewer. It's fun
if you're in the arena because you get to see

(03:10):
John Cena for the final time, and it's an experience
for yourself. But as the general audience is watching for
you know, the ninety nine percent of us watching, we're
looking at it going okay, yeah, thank you, Cina got it.
You know, it's getting a little bit repetitive and it's
I don't know, So you could argue it's self serving
for John who knew that was going to happen. And hey,
so here we go. Four dates left, though, and we'll

(03:33):
see who his final opponents are. As he has I
believe Survivors Series on his schedule. I think he has
the next pl the stop gap Saturday Night main event
to also be a part of, so not much left.
He also has I believe Monda nett Ron, Madison Square Garden.

(03:55):
I think Boston is also on the schedule, and then
that's it. Washington, DC will close it out for Saturday
Night's main event December thirteenth, I think it is. So
it's going to be crazy. It's going to be crazy.
And yes, we will all miss him when he's gone.
We certainly will because at least, well at least appreciate,
we will appreciate what he has done for the company

(04:18):
and for you know, whatever personal effect he's had on
your life as well. So we're going to get into
the entire review of the show that again I thought
was was very good. That was very good, and some
outcomes I expected a couple that were a bit head scratching,
but overall I don't have any major complaints, which is
a bit surprising if you know me. On this show,

(04:38):
I will find something to rand about, because because why not.
But before we do that, I want to just talk
to you guys about one thing and that is Strong
Coffee Company. The Strong Coffee Company. Guys. I love my coffee.
It's what's keeping me going right now. Okay, it's keeping
me going right now through this show. So the Strong
Coffee Company, what is it. Well, as you'd imagine, they

(05:00):
sell coffee, but it's much more than that because they
elevate your coffee routine and they have one of my
personal favorites, the black Blend, Black Instant Blend, and right
now they have an organic coffee with protein mcts and
adaptogens for sustained energy and mental clarity, which is really

(05:20):
why I during coffee. I mean, it's to wake up
in the morning, but I got a focus and with
a lot of brain fog in the morning, this is
a great way to get started. So what can you
get from the Strong Coffee Company beyond just great coffee. Well, again,
it has protein in it five or I'm sorry, fifteen
grams of high quality protein, two hundred and fifty milligrams
of adaptogens including ashwaganda and thiannine, and it ensures sustained energy,

(05:46):
improved alertness, and a calming effect that doesn't have the jitters.
That's one of the things I don't like when sometimes
you could watch your handshake not one of my favorite things.
This is not what that does for you. So, the
protein is a big deal. Most coffees don't have this
amount of protein in it, and it's a great way
to have sustain energy. There's no big crash, and they

(06:07):
have very quick delivery. The taste is awesome. And right now,
listeners of this show exclusively right now can get twenty
percent off their entire cart purchase. Just use the code
wwepod at checkout. That's wwpod at checkout and you can
get your entire kart twenty percent off. That is the

(06:28):
highest discount that they've offered thus far, and it's exclusive
for listeners of this show. So check out the Strong
Cooffeecompany dot com. Strong Coffee Coompany dot com. It's exactly
the way it sounds, and check it out. Go check
them out, guys, if you want a sustained energy boost
with protein and just really good for your body and

(06:48):
mental clarity. It's all what we need. Man. That fog
I get in the morning is not my favorite and
this helps clear it up big time. So use the
code wwpod at checkout for twenty percent off. I'm drinking
it right now. Alrighty, Well, let's get into the ww
event here and let's we'll start with the top of
the show, because otherwise I'll bounce around, and you know

(07:11):
how I am. My mind bounces around anyway, you can
probably tell, so I want to stay on track. And
the show opened with Roman Reigns and Bronson Reid. And yes,
I know the United States anthem and the American anthem
got booed in Australia. Of course it did. That shouldn't
be a surprise to anyone. But Roman Reigns and Bronson

(07:33):
Reid was the show or the match? Open the show?
Paul Hammon's at ringside, and the match went what was
the actual finish of the match. It went longer than
I thought, twenty one minutes in this Australian street fight,
with Bronson Reid beating Roman Reigns. And as I mentioned
in the previews show, I think that's the right call.

(07:55):
If you didn't hear my previews show, the reason I
gave is because simply, Roman Reigns has nothing to gain
by winning this, absolutely nothing nothing. Bronson Reid is the
one we're trying to build. It would have done nothing
but hurt Bronson Reid, even in a fighting effort, even
in a competitive effort, if he had lost the Roman reigns,
because then it's like okay, yeah, great, we know that
Bronson isn't on the level of Roman reigns. Where do

(08:16):
they go from here? And then it would have I think,
defined down Bronson Reid to a level that he doesn't
need to be at if he's in a group of
seth Rollins that's dominating Monday neett Raw. So you have
Bronson Reid in here, you have, of course, as expected,
you had Bron Breaker interfere, he speared Roman reigns. We'll

(08:37):
get to the finish in a minute. We had let's
see some other spots here. Well, he Braun did hop
the barricade speared reigns and as we know, this is
a no DQ match, so the ref can't do anything.
There was a kind of a shield esque moment with
Roman Reigns getting power bombed through the announced table by
Bronson and Breaker. Roman was, by the way I look

(09:00):
at these details, he was probably an inch away from
hitting a power strip. It wouldn't have electrocuted him, but
it would have hurt a hell of a lot more.
I mean, I don't think Bronson or a Breaker saw it,
but there was a power strip the ones that you
know we all have in our home that'd be plugged
way too much stuff into. There was a power strip
on the announced table and I'm like, oh crap. Yeah,

(09:21):
Like I'm watching him like, oh boy, oh boy. But
they don't see it. They don't see it. And luckily
he didn't hit it, but it wouldn't have injured him
per se, But boy, that would have left a hell
of a bruise. I think so good they they missed that,
but fun spot there, and you're thinking, okay, here we go.
You know, where's jay Uso? While jay Uso did come
and the USO's hit simultaneous hip attacks on Read and Breaker.

(09:45):
They hit the one D on Braun and they went
up for a double USO splash, but Bronson shoved Jimmy
off the ropes. Breaker got up, grabbed j from the ropes,
pressed him over his head, dropped on him onto his knees,
and then Breaker went to the floor and ran around
the ring before spearing Jimmy through the barricade into the

(10:06):
timekeepers area. That's becoming a pretty consistent spot, is it not.
Reid then went up top Rains caught him with a
superman punch and then hit him with another Superman punch,
and he wanted to go after Read, but he had
to hit Breaker with a Superman punch to knock him
off the apron, which, in hindsight, if you're looking at
this as an actual strategic matchup where you're trying to win,
wasn't the smartest call by Roman Reigns. I know that

(10:30):
Breaker had been a pest all match, or particularly the
last half of it, but if he had just spared
Bronson Reid through the table, the slim gym table, not
to be confused with the regular tables that were used
for thirty years prior to that, if he had spared
him through that table, then you could have gone after
Breaker because Breaker was a threat, but not to the

(10:51):
point where it was imminent and he couldn't perform the
move on Reed to put him down and then take
care of Breaker. I mean, Breaker can't pin you Reid Ken,
so therefore you should worry about Bronson Reid first. Anyway,
I'm looking at this through a purely competitive, simulated perspective,
but that was really what set the whole chain of
events into emotion here where he went after Breaker instead

(11:14):
of Braun and Read then hoisted up Rains. He fought
his way free and then read avoided a charging Jay,
and he accidentally spears Rains through the slim gym table
that was set up in the corner. Jay was apologetic,
Breaker returned to the ring and speared Jay. Breaker then

(11:37):
dragged Reins into the corner read hit Rains of the
tsunami before giving him the three count. So there have
been a lot of people who believe, and if you
look at the WW product over the last month or so,
it would lead you to believe that potentially Jay Uso
is about to have a heel turn. I have been

(11:57):
so against this. I don't know why we're trying to
revisit this, even in a way that's teasing. But they're
not going this way. They're going to go another way.
This should interest no one. I don't care if Jay
did it on purpose or not. I'm sure many of
you don't either. It's a groan. It's many of us
even no matter if it was on purpose or not.

(12:18):
Particularly if it was on purpose and Jay's about to
turn heel officially, many of us are just looking at
us going no, like no two great competitors. We had
a hell of a story for several years off of them.
The company made a ton of money off of them.
They both did an excellent job, largely speaking. But we
don't want to go down this road again. Do they

(12:39):
really need to revisit they are they that short of
opponents for Rowan rains that they have to go back
to Jus potentially turning Heel. I mean, if that's the case,
if that's the case, that they're truly turning Jay heel,
I mean, I'll watch. But we all know Jay can't
cut a good promo. He's incapable of cutting a real

(12:59):
good promo. You've seen him. I mean, to be quite honest,
no disrespect, but I'm big on truth. And Jay embarrassed
himself a few times on the microphone, just flubbing over
his words, forgetting his lines. He just he did. He's
embarrassed himself several times on the mic. The company has
since then really cut his promos short. They won't let
him talk for more than a couple of sentences. They've

(13:20):
pretty much relegated him to the four letters that he
has made a bunch of money off of with good reason.
I mean, he simply just can't be trusted. And hey,
he's had a hell of a career without being you know,
without having to cut great promos, and good for him,
but it is what it is. He's not good at promos.
He's bad generally, not all the time, but generally bad
at promos. So how are you going to turn him

(13:42):
heel and have him start cutting these brilliant promos that
you know, you're like, wow, wow usob. I mean, maybe
that's a little bit better for him, you know, maybe
that's something he can kind of adapt to if they're
going to go that road. But I don't want to
see Roman and j. Nobody wants to watch Roman versus Jay.
I mean, maybe there's a subset of you out there

(14:03):
that's like, hey, no, I would I'd like to watch
that again. They're two great wrestlers, blah blah blah. But
we've been down this road sixty four times in the
last five years, together, not together, reuniting, not like civil war,
blah blah blah. You're the next one up, you know,
you're out of the group, like no, okay, But if

(14:26):
this is not now, the other half of this is okay,
this was not Jay turning heel, or it's not a
step on the way to j J turninghel This is
simply just a miscommunication. They'll soften things over. Jay's not
turning heel. Then I'm a little bit more understanding of it.
I still don't like the tease of it. But then,
what is this? What's the purpose of this? There has
to be a purpose. If it's not Jay turning heel,

(14:47):
then what's this for? Is it perhaps just to give
Bronson Reid a way to beat Roman and okay, then fine.
If it was not a means to an end to
have Jay end up doing this to start his dark
turn into the darkness, then fine. Jay is simply there
to be a part of the finish so that it

(15:10):
could give Reid a victory and okay, and more importantly,
most importantly, this is a massive win, arguably Bronson Read's
biggest win ever in his career. Biggest win ever. How
can it not be You're beating the face of the
company and yeah, no titles on the line, Who cares?
You're beating him on a big pl e, semi big

(15:31):
pl e. The crowd as hot as most crowds are
outside of the United States for the entirety of the
pl which is just I still don't understand how people
keep up their energy for that long, but props to
the Australian crowd and this is a big read for
big win for Reid. Now where does Reed go from here?

Speaker 4 (15:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
I mean, he eventually may start eyeing that world championship,
But are we ready for the vision to break up?
My answer to that is very simple, Hell no. That
could be down the line as Reid gins more and
more momentum, where does WWE position him in the pantheon
of contenders for Seth Rollins's world title? If Seth is

(16:15):
still holding it, well, I think it should be in
the conversation of he should be in the conversation. And
does the crowd start to get behind Reid when they
go down that road to potentially turn Bronson read babyface
to go after Seth Rollins? Yeah? Maybe, but what about
brown Breaker? See this is where in lies the kind
of flying the ointment is. While bron Breaker is also

(16:36):
in the conversation because arguably he's still a bigger star
than Bronson Reid, but I think this win over Roman
has really helped Bronson read join the conversation of being
on equal footing with bron Breaker. So This was a
much needed victory for Bronson. I can't understate that or
overstate that enough. He needed this, he got it. It's

(16:57):
not going to mean an immediate world title shot. Gonna
mean that he goes after you know, Cody on SmackDown
or something I don't believe anyway, although they could because
there's no brand split. But it can also mean he
goes after the Intercontinental Championship very much. So it could
be or a United States Open challenge. She could end
up chasing Sammy's ain't and becoming a United States Champion

(17:18):
and then you have Seth's world champion. You know you
could do that. Or it could be for bron Breaker
who continues to just insert himself with spear after spear
out every pl e all the time. So really good match.
I enjoyed this. I give this three and a half
three star, three and a half three stars out of
five good to very good. Just a match that was

(17:40):
just exactly what the doctor ordered for Bronson Reid. Okay,
the Women's World Championship or I'm sorry, the Women's World Champion.
Stephanie Vaquerrer takes on WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton. The
match went ten minutes, disappointingly short match. In my mind
watching this, I'm think they're gonna get LEAs fifteen and
you wouldn't think that's a lot of a difference. But

(18:02):
five minutes in pro wrestling world can be a lot
of time. So I was disappointed by the amount of
time because these two are capable of going like twenty
five minutes if they wanted. But the match was good.
It was good, and the match again ended with if
you didn't already know, Stephanie Vequier beating Tiffany Stratton to

(18:24):
win the Crown Jewel Championship that were supposed to believe
has some kind of value, and you know, it's hilarious.
They ended up trying to Michael Cole, did I believe
was trying to add some kind of value to this championship,
particularly the ring that they wear, by telling us how
many diamonds are in it. When you have to tell

(18:47):
us that a championship has X number of diamonds, then
the championship has no intrinsic value at all, because what
you're doing is telling us that we should value it
because it's worth a lot of money. That's it. That's
how pathetic this championship is that they're trying to sell
us as something valuable. A championship when you're looking at

(19:11):
it from the true perspective, from the perspective of having
true value to the person holding it, has nothing to
do with what's what it's made of, nothing to do
what it's made of. It shouldn't even matter what it
looks like, although we all know the abomination that was
the Spinner Belt from my mind anyway, But when you
have to rely on what it's made of, the materials

(19:32):
it's made of to try to create some kind of worth. Again,
they did that with the ring. I know he didn't
talk about the championship, I don't think, but it's one
and the same. You have simply lost the fans because
they know that. The fans know that this means total garbage.
So that's how you know, again, when you're trying to

(19:54):
create value on something from a consumer perspective. Sure, you
can talk about how many diamonds it has, what it's made,
the materials, the quality of the make and the all that, yeah,
because then you can justify why it's worth dollarwise, what
it's worth to the consumer. But we're not consumers for
that ring. We're looking at it through the lens of
intrinsic value through Hey, what does this mean for this

(20:16):
person going forward? Not the dollar value. Dollar value is irrelevant. Okay,
what it's made of is actually irrelevant. We don't give
a damn. Fans don't give a sh you know what.
We don't care. But that's how pathetic this championship is
that we have to be told what the ring is
made of. Yeah, I'm gonna keep crapping on it because
it's an abomination of championship. It's like a mockery of

(20:38):
real championships. That's what this is. It's a mockery of
what championships should be. It is the opposite of what
a championship's value should be based on. So yes, I
will continue to crap all over this Crown Duel championship
because it's absolutely worthless. I would rather have them win nothing.

(21:04):
I would have them win nothing. Or if you're gonna
have something on the line, have them pick hand pick
their next opponent. Have the champion be able to pick
the next person they want to be able to work
with or defend their title against. This more properly stated,
that's how you would work that instead of this garbage
championship that if it's worth so much and it means

(21:24):
so much that we only here talked about a week
before the event, and you never see it again after that.
They might appear on Raw and SmackDown once and then
they're gone until next year. What an abomination. But that said, see,
I told you i'd find something a bit about the
Women's World Championship here. I mean, this was good and
Stephanie Vaquerrer did a really nice job.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
You know.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
She ended up hitting a cork cork screw splash from
the top rope, which was just incredible. She did land
it a little bit off, but it still looked devastating.
Landed it in a sloppy way that actually made it
look more devastating. And I'm glad no one seemingly got hurt,
so that was great. And yeah, so the carer then,

(22:12):
I mean, she played to the crowd, she hit the
Devil's kiss, you know. Tiffany Stratton also did a really
nice job. I think this was well done. And again,
one hundred and seventy five diamonds, guys, one hundred and
seventy five diamonds. And also I don't need to see
triple H. I think the performer of the wrestler in
him just can't help himself, but somehow appear on camera

(22:35):
for every ple e and for the bigger ones. He
must come out. It's it's written in some kind of
bylaw in the company that he must come out for
every major pl e and ask us if we're ready
and welcome us to X event. Why sorry, Trips, I
don't need to see anymore, like unless you're gonna get

(22:56):
back in the ring for a match or something, which
even then be a little bit a little bit hesitant
to want to see. I don't need to hear you
come out, and I don't need to see you present
championships because it makes it weird that we all know
you're the content chief content officer, right, we all know
everyone knows it's it's set on the show. It's it's

(23:17):
set about. They make a whole show about it. WW
has their entire show about how this whole story has
come about and who makes the final decisions and all that.
I don't need the person that wrote this story come
out and present this as it's as if it was
not predictable or it was not it was not preordained

(23:37):
you know what I mean. It's it's weird. It's weird.
It's like having the author of a book, or the
the I don't know, the the screenwriter of a play
come out and during the middle of the play they
say like part of their lines for them, as if
it was completely complete ad lib. Yet we all know

(24:01):
you're the one that wrote the line that you're about
to say, and they about they're about to say. It's
it's like a little bit I don't know. Okay, sorry, guys,
all right, let's continue here. A backstage bron Breaker congratulated.
He congratulated Bronson Reid for beating Rains. Paul Hayman entered

(24:24):
the room and was also congratulatory, and Hayman mentioned the
possibility of Seth Rollins, mentioning for the three of them
to come out and help him. Hayman indicated that they
shouldn't help. He said it's a meritocracy and they would
find out whether Rollins or Cody Roads is better. There
we go. We then had a video package for AJ

(24:45):
Styles versus John Cena, and we had a kind of
customized introduction for AJ Styles, which was cool. The match
then began with AJ and John both got big reactions, big,
big reactions, and as we went through the match, we
saw let's see here, I'm looking through some of the

(25:06):
notes that were mentioned. Oh Sena caught Styles in the stfu,
Styles escapes put Sena in a cross face seeing them
put Styles in the accolade, and then Styles escaped and
put Sena in what Cole assumed was a Cokina clutch,
and Styles then went for a calf crusher, but Sena
countered into the walls of Jericho, yes, the walls of Jericho,

(25:30):
and then a Y two J chant broke out. Stiles
then countered into a calf crusher and he went for
the STFU, which he gave up, and then Styles neared
the ropes. A fight forever chance started and Styles went
for a phenomenal forearm, but Sena caught him and hit
sister Abigail bray Wyatt obviously attribute to him, and you

(25:56):
know it was mentioned by the announcers as well, and
then Stiles hit Angel's wings for a near fall. Sena
dump Styles face first into the ring and then Sena
set up for a pedigree, but Styles countered into a
dead eye or a vertebreaker, and Styles came back in
hit a draping DDT. Scena struck the viper's pose and

(26:19):
then hit Styles with an r KO for another near
fall and a. Scena went for a punt kick, but
Styles avoided it and hit him with an AA. Another
fight forever chant broke out, and we then had let's
see here, I'm trying to I don't want to go
through every little bit here, but oh he was going

(26:41):
to go. Sena was going to go for the six
to one nine, but thank god he didn't be. I mean,
there's just no way seeing Sena do a six one
I would be I mean, yeah, I don't think he
could do it. But Styles performed a springboard four fifty
and then he removed his elbow pad went for another
phenomenal forearm. Sena hit an AA out of nowhere. Of

(27:02):
course it's a kickout, because every AA is a kickout,
and then Sena sat Styles on the top turnbuckle. He
went tried to get Styles on his shoulders, but Styles
fought him off. Styles dovet Cena and then he hit
a tombstone. Yes, John Cena hits a tombstone, which was
insanely unexpected, and then he hoisted up Styles hit an

(27:23):
AA made the cover and one, two three in twenty
seven minutes and ten seconds, I mean, and then Cole
talked about how this is why we love pro wrestling.
One of the famous calls he made it wrestleming at forty,
kind of repeating it here, and he said, this is
a match for the ages, and Sena offered a hand

(27:43):
to Styles, who accepted, and then Sina raised the arm
of Styles, who returned the favor, and then Styles hugs
Sena before making his exit, and he mentioned to Styles
while Cole remained reminded viewers that Styles will retire next year,
that Sena has only four dates remaining, so don't forget Yeah,
aj Styles is retiring too. I had actually kind of

(28:04):
forgotten about that. Sina went to ringside and kissed his
wife Shay and got halfway up the entrance aisle and
played to the crowd, you know, with four fingers saying
that's all I got left. So, I mean, this is
this is just a lot of fun. That this is
just a blast watching this and seeing Senna just essentially

(28:25):
playing the sandbox with no no just no consequences whatsoever,
just having him do whatever he wants to do in
the ring with nothing on the line, just a lot
of fun. It's about the near falls and the story
in the ring. Of course it was, and he performed

(28:45):
the moves pretty well. I mean the six one nine
would have been a complete disaster, although I would have
loved to have seen it. In a way, the tombstone
was done well, the RKO was done well. The sister
Abigail has done well.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
It was just it was a lot of fun. The
a of course, which he are just kick out maneuvers
and credit to Aj as well. I mean, I think
Aj is the next one that we have to look
at as oh Man, appreciate him while he's here.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
You know.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
Just a fun match twenty seven minutes. Crowd made it great,
a fun no stress, just a move for move, who's
going to blink first kind of match. That's what this
was about, and they delivered. They delivered in a big way.
John Cena wins. Who cares? I mean I say who

(29:32):
cares because again the consequences of who won and lost
didn't matter. But it also I think in a way
it did help aj styles kind of while he doesn't
need to help in the entirety of his career with
this loss or with this if he had won or lost,
it's more of the fact that putting him back in
the spotlight of reminding people what he can do. I
think that for Aj Styles was the most important thing

(29:54):
coming out of this. If there's anything to add to
AJ's career, which is kind of difficult to do at
this point, to remind people how damn good Aj Styles
is and was and still can be. So while he's
still here, we should enjoy the hell out of him
as well. I don't need a year long retirement tour
of thank you Aj and all the rest. I don't.
It's exhausting. I don't care how big of a star

(30:15):
you are. It's exhausting. But we should appreciate every moment
that he's here, and I hope over the next year
he does have some kind of mild run with a championship.
I don't even care if it's the top belt. Might
not make him champion for a few months. Hell why not.
He's one of the greatest to ever do it. AJ
Styles is one of the greatest in the ring. Ever.

(30:37):
Is he the greatest on the MIC? No serviceable? He's
good to good, okay to good. That's how i'd range him,
like a C plus B minus on the MIC. He's
good when he needs to be, but he's most known
and best known for his in ring ability and helping
make a match awesome by today's standards, and helping his

(30:58):
opponent look awesome and putting together a hell of a story.
And at his advanced age in pro wrestling context, anyway,
he is able to do things he shouldn't be able
to do with all the miles and wear and tear
in his body. It's incredible that he's still able to
do these things. And the way he looks is impressive
as hell. There's nothing but credit and respect given to

(31:20):
AJ here, and he'll get his flowers over the next
year too. I just hope it's not in this, in
this way that John Cen is getting up of every
single place. It's countdown this all. I got eight, I
got seven dates, six dates, you know, and it's I'm sorry,
it's just exhausting, that's all. But we can still enjoy
AJ for a little while longer, So Rhea Ripley EO

(31:44):
Sky versus the Kabuki Warriors of Oscar and Kyrie. The
match I think was really good. Did it blow me away?

Speaker 1 (31:54):
No?

Speaker 3 (31:55):
I don't think it blew me away. Didn't blow many
people away, but it was certainly good enough for a
pl These four women are amazing, yes, even Kyrie, who
just doesn't get her due on the mic or her
time to really create any kind of character in connection
with the fans, which is her biggest problem, you know,
because by far she is the low woman on the

(32:15):
totem pole here when it comes to just pecking order,
as we all know. But the match was was good,
really good, and some of the spots in case you forgot,
was a Sky going up to the top, Sayane shot up,
pulled her off with an arm drag. Eo then goes
back up top for her finish, but Osca distracts her,
allowing Saine to hit her from behind, and then Oscar

(32:37):
taunted Ripley at ringside, and then Saane kicked Ripley through
the ropes, Sane ran Ripley through the ring steps, and
Sane hit Oscar was a Sigi Moon salt. The one
spot I will say that was a little scary was
the apron power bomb by Kyrie on on EO, Oh
my god, that that was yikes.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
That yikes.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
But the Sky hitting Oscar with the missile dropkick. All
four women were down. Osca and Ripley got up and
traded punches. Osca then used the backslide to get a
two count, and Ripley put Osca on her shoulders and
dropped her face first onto the turnbuckle. Ripley pulled Osca
onto the ropes. She sat on the top rope. Ripley
then set her up for riptide, Saying tagged in, and

(33:22):
then the finish was Ripley knocking Say to the apron
with a big boot. Ripley got Sane back inside the ring,
hit her with a rip tide. Ripley tagged in Sky,
who performed the over the Moon salt and got the
three count, and Cole said, blind faith in your leaders
will get you killed, and Sane was destroyed. EO and
Ripley won in about twenty minutes, exactly a longer match

(33:45):
than expected. But that's not a bad over, you know,
that's not a bad over delivery. These women deserved twenty
minutes and they got it, so that's that was good.
I did not expect these two to win. I thought
for sure Kyrie and Osca were to win, or at
least I was leaning that way. I don't think this
really does much for Eowen Ripley. I think that these

(34:06):
two didn't really need it. But as I said in
the preview, it's good to see women fighting over something
that's not a championship because that is a rare occurrence
in the company and just pro wrestling in general. But
it was fun to see Osca and Kyrie and the
dynamic of how many bullets is Kyrie going to take
for Osca blindly before she finally decides to bail on Oscar?

(34:29):
I mean, is that the story they're telling is are
they going to actually focus on what Kyrie's going to do?
Do they dare do anything by putting the spotlight on Kyrie?
For the love of God, do they dare? She's been
such a background character for so long. But I think
that's a mistake. I don't think she needs to be
the focal point of the women's division, but she has
been in a way disrespected by the company by not

(34:52):
giving her a little bit more to do. And sure,
she may fail, and then fine, you at least tried.
You know, you give her an opportunity, But it fel
like they're not even giving her an opportunity outside of
being this lapdog, blind service, blind loyalty to OSCA, and
looking like the fool half the time. That's not giving

(35:14):
somebody an opportunity. I mean looking like a fool, and
you know, executing well, looking like a fool is not
the best use of your you know, your talents. I
don't think now she's playing the roles that she's given
and she's doing it well. But sometimes even playing that
role well, while the company may be glad that you
did it is not good in the eyes of fans

(35:35):
if you're trying to elevate the person that's you know,
you're trying to make look like a fool. If that
makes sense, I hope it did, but probably not. All right,
don't forget Raw is starting at eight o'clock Eastern time
on Monday morning, So don't forget that Monday morning. I
did not say Monday evening. Monday morning meaning tomorrow morning

(35:57):
at eight o'clock Eastern is Monday night. Raw, Dominic and
Penta are going to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship. Becky,
I'm sorry, Bailey and Lyra are going to take on
Roquel and Roxanne. So a little bit of a preview
for Monday Night or I'm sorry, Monday Morning Raw rather

(36:17):
shouldn't be called Monday Night Raw. So we then have
the world heavyweight champion, Seth Rollins and Cody Roads for
the men's extremely prestigious and very much lauded after Men's
Crown Jewel Championship. And the match was long, but expectedly long.

(36:42):
And these two men, as we know, are more than
capable of going this long. Thirty minutes, thirty minutes, but
very good, very good. The match went thirty minutes. Was
it the match of the night? Arguable, But the conversation,
if you care about such titles and such imaginary awards

(37:04):
of match of the night in your mind, I think,
at least as in most people's conversations. But let's see it.
It ended with Rollins beating Cody Roads, as we know
in specifically twenty nine minutes and forty seconds. Potato potato
the finish, and we'll go through some of the other spots,
but the finish was Rollin's selling his left arm. He
went to the middle rope, Cody shot up punched him.

(37:27):
Cody then joined Rollins on the top rope and hit
Avalanche Crossroads for a near fall, and the fans sang
Cody's name, Rollins grabbed the grabbed the match, he kicked
or Cody kicked Rollins who collided with the ref. Yes,
a ref bump at a Cody match. I know it's
unheard of. Cody set up for Crossroads, but Rollins hit
him with the watch, so Rollins followed up with a stomp.

(37:51):
He went to the middle rope and waited for Cody
to get up hit him with another stomp one two three.
So yes, the watch was used as a out for
Cody because they have to protect Cody, or at least
they think they do. Wwe believes that they do. I
don't know why you can't just have Rollins beat him
outright with no you know, no kind of outside interference

(38:16):
or foreign objects. But we got the foreign object path
and yes, the stomp is what truly was the final
move or moves. But like once in a while, you
can have a heel be the guy that's better that
night with nothing that is shady about it. So that's
the only flying the ointment for here, for me here

(38:36):
is that seth Rollins one, which is awesome and certainly
the best move possible for Rollins, but the fact that
he had to WW had to write in that one
cover for Cody that nobody can beat up Cody straight No, no,
he's the top of guy nonsense. You can have him
not win that night. Seth Rowins is an all the
worldly talent. It would not hurt Cody if he were

(38:59):
just to lose straight up to Seth Rollins. But they
didn't have that happen. The watch was in part, in
part the deciding factor. However, Rollins smirked as he was
down on the mat and Triple H comes out and
presents Rollins with the toy title and the ring, and

(39:23):
Kathy Kelly entered the ring to interview Rollins and said
he didn't need her questions. He took the mic and
Rollins assumed she was going to go, asking how it
felt to get that monkey off his back, and Rollin
selt it felt better than any of his fans could
ever imagine, and he said, some dream the impossible dream
and have the fortitude to make it happen. Rollinds delivered

(39:45):
his usual visionary line, which yeah, sure, and then he
went to the ropes Pyro shot off, and Stephanie Viccuor
entered the ring and held her title as well, and
that was that good, good show. I think it was
better than wrestled Paluza was. It's just a pure, good,
pure wrestling show, which is what I was telling everybody

(40:06):
prior to this event. This is how you have to
look at this event is pure wrestling, right, quality of
the matches, the match itself. Don't look at the consequences
because there are no consequences of who wins or loses
almost any of these matches. But for Rollins, there is
a big thing to be gained here and that is momentum.
And momentum is a real thing here for Rollins because

(40:29):
he has a group that is running Monday Night Raw.
He's got two guys that the company is viewing as
the next big stars. You know, they certainly have put
the weight of the company on the shoulders of bron
Breaker by saying he's going a main event the next
five WrestleMania's or something, and that's you don't need that
unnecessary pressure, but that's what they've done to break her,

(40:51):
and you know it's good to keep things rolling for
the group. Now you have seth fresh off of a
massive victory finally beating Cody Rhodes. They're now three to
one Cody can no longer claim he's undefeated against Rollins
in one on one competition. It was actually crazily out

(41:12):
of all the things Rollins has done in his career,
something he needed to do and he's done it. And
now he has gotten that monkey off of his back.
He goes into Monday Night Raw with a lot of momentum.
You have Bronson Reid off of a victory from Roman Reigns.
I mean he beat Roman Reigns, the face of the company.
He's off of a victory bron breaker. Yes, he didn't

(41:34):
have a match, but he had a massive impact spearing
Roman Reigns, getting involved, you know, not staying down, doing
his part in that match with Bronson Reid and Roman Reigns.
So he had a big night as well, despite not
having an actual match. And the Vision is rolling into
Monday Night Raw. So it makes you wonder, Okay, what's next?

(41:55):
What's next for the Vision? Now we'll see is it
l a Night? Is it Jay?

Speaker 1 (42:00):
So?

Speaker 3 (42:00):
Isn't Roman Reigns again? Is it some kind of combination?
We can't go right to Sarriras series because there there's
a stop gap here. There's the Saturday Night main event
and they have sometimes leapfrog that to talk about the
following pl to build for that, and that's fine, but
you gotta remember that's not until the end of November.
That feels like an eternity away. That's like six or

(42:21):
six weeks or so away, or more a little over
six weeks. That's a long time in w Land, Okay,
So they probably won't really, I would think, not start
talking about Survivors Series until the Saturday Night's main event
on November first is concluded. But it's possible that they
do now if they're only focusing on Saturday Night maan event. Again,

(42:42):
what does that mean for Seth? Is he in some
kind of fatal four way for the world title? Probably
I would think you're gonna have a j us of
Roman reigns La Night Seth Rollins combo. You could very
well do that Bronson read I mean, I'm not sure
what Bronson, Reid and bron Breaker are gonna be doing again.
Perhaps you can have them in the match with the USOS.

(43:02):
You can have the USSOS versus them again, I mean
you go back to that. Well, they're more than capable,
so there's things to do. And also see him punk.
What about if Jay USO stays out of the world
title picture. He's in the tag team match. You have
see him punk in the match with Seth Rewllins. If
it's again a fatal four way, just some food for thought.
But they go in with a ton of momentum. That

(43:25):
group is on fire right now, and it's good to
see because if they have both had come off of
losses going in Monday at Raw, he'd be kind of like,
all right, well, they didn't lose anything other than kind
of momentum and the fact that they're inherently beatable. They
always have the cheat to win. And yeah, there was
some hanky panky with the watch that I don't like
with Seth, but he got he finally beat him. You know,

(43:45):
he did win. So yeah. I mean, overall though, the
Cody Roads and Seth Rowlins match very good. Would I
give it five stars? No, I wouldn't, but certainly I
mean three and three quarters maybe four out of five
I have very good. I don't like Cody, but I
don't care. I mean, that doesn't really factor in when
it comes to what I am objectively looking at when

(44:08):
I watch him work, and it's top level. So I
really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the I mean, yeah, there
was some silly near falls, as always with the super
didn't Cody Roads hit a super Crossroads off the top
rope or something and Rolin's still kicked out and you know,
Rollin's hit him with a pedigree and a stomp another

(44:31):
near fall.

Speaker 2 (44:32):
Ye know.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
The overuse of finished kickouts continues, and I'm screaming into
the void here. Then I'm fine with that happening, but
on rare, rare occurrences, instead of just having it be
part of nearly every match, and not even not anymore,
just every pl match, it's just every match period, you know,

(44:55):
Like that's the problem. It totally devalues what finishes mean,
I've boomed down this road, take a breath, and not
go down it again. But my point stands and still
stands that every match, particularly big matches, have like four
or five finished kickouts, and it's so unnecessary to make
a match great. I'm not against them in principle, I'm

(45:19):
against the overuse of them, and it's beyond overuse. So
credit to both men. The Spanish fly that spot was awesome.
That's that move always scares the hell out of me.
By the way, that Spanish Fly is just yeah, so good,
good pl overall. I mean, I'd give it a BB
plus when it comes to match quality what we'd expected

(45:41):
out of it. I know many of you wanted big
returns and big hey this match, if you looked at
it from just a logical standpoint, as I said, is
simply about the wrestling. Nothing's really on the line. The
crowd and Perth certainly added to it. So again credit
to the Australian fans. Do did an excellent job throughout
the show keeping the energy high. And now we can
move on to Saturday Night's main event, which takes place

(46:04):
in a few weeks, so that'll be the next stop.
And of course Morning Raw tomorrow eight o'clock Eastern time.
That's a bizarre I don't know if I've ever watched
