Speaker 1 (00:02):
Listen WWE superstar Drew McIntyre, and you're listening to the
WWE podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
The show, the one that everybody wants me somebody I've
started for sixteen so guy, just work your hands this
mind you.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Can acknowledge me what is going on?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Everybody, And welcome to this week's episode of the Main
Event Review. Thank you very much for tuning in this week.
You've probably heard my voice twice. I've been doing the
SmackDown reviews as well. Did the first one the other day.
Really enjoyed that, so give that a listen. If you
haven't tuned into the SmackDown Review, Willlso will be obviously

(00:54):
doing the Main Event Review. I'm here every every single week,
and if you have been listening to the episodes every
single week, it'd be great to just I guess I
leave a comment or check out my other podcast, The
Huddle Within. You can connect with me on Twitter there
and also on Instagram at the Huddle Within. I just
want to know who's been honestly listening on a weekly basis.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
I've been doing the.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Main Events for over a year now and obviously filled
in for a few SmackDown reviews as well. And if
you have come from the SmackDown review and you've enjoyed
my voice and my review there, Welcome to this main
Event review where we break down essentially the two matches
that happen on main Event and segments that are from

(01:38):
either Raw or SmackDown as well.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Reason being is because the main event episode that is.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Posted on YouTube does have the snippets of Raw of
SmackDown as well, and the two main event matches which
always happen either before last week's or the last week's
Raw that gets posted a week later, or the SmackDown
before Sometimes it really depends if they do international ples
as well.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
But I guess it's a good.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Opportunity to talk about Raw as well and SmackDown main card,
because I feel as though that if we were to
only talk about two main event matches, we'd be here
for maybe five minutes, given that there's not too much.
But it's always good to see the stars that are
working on I guess, the main card, but not necessarily
translating onto Raw and SmackDown and seeing where they sort

(02:24):
of position these stars as well. And you get occasional
NXT superstars that come on and perform on main event too,
so those are good to also break down and it
gives me an opportunity again to talk about raw and
then when the ples come, speak about those as well.
So Saturday night's main event is coming up, which means
we will be doing a bit of a prediction and

(02:45):
a preview, just a small one. They haven't all the
matches haven't been confirmed. We know that Soul Rooker is
taking on Bailey, we know that Cody Roads is taking
on Obafemi, and we definitely know that John Cena will
be performing his live ever match against gunfa Who was
the choice I gave my opinion on SmackDown. I do

(03:08):
think the right decision ultimately was Gunfher. Considering all the
talent that we have and if we don't get too
hyped with potentials of like Chris Jericho and Edge, I
think Gunthera was the right decision. He obviously versed Goldberg
in his retirement match and it just puts him onto
something great that's not I guess, World Championship stuff. So

(03:29):
being the final person to verse John Cena is going
to be awesome for I think the last time, and
it's coming close.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
I'm really excited to watch it.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
But at the same time, I'm extremely sad that it
is going to be the last time John Cena will
be in the WWE ring wrestling. And yeah, I've said
this many times. John Cena for me, hate him, will
love him.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
He was my error. He was the guy that was
the superstar.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
When I was a kid, I obviously looked up to
John Cena and I loved him, so I can't not
love him now being an adult. It may have been
different if I didn't grow up with him, but growing
up with him as my idol, He's done so much
for the company and he truly is one of the
goats for me, so it's going to be really emotional
to see him finish up. But again we talk about

(04:13):
Main Event as well, and John Cena too. We able
to have that opportunity here, So again, welcome and to
the regulars as well, Thank you very much for tuning
in again and welcome, And we should probably just get
started with what we're here for, and that is the
first match. In the second match of main Event, we
had Ivy Nile taking on an NXT star in Thea Hale.

(04:35):
I'll be honest, haven't heard too much about her. I
usually rely on the commentators to sort of give me
a bit of an insight and my own personal research.
But it seems like she's doing some work on NXT,
but nothing major. I honestly, I don't have time to
watch NXT. I would love to spend time watching that,
but having Raw SmackDown main event, and also even like

(04:56):
the local wrestling scene that I'm starting to follow, it
gets a lot. It gets a lot, and even sometimes
literallybre as well Triple A, it gets a lot.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
So NXT.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I try to follow what's happening on there in terms
of storyline results, but I don't really tune in as much. Yeah,
you call me not passionate for wrestling, but I guess
like along with all the other sports I go for, Like.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
I love my sports. You all know that I have
my other podcast.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
It's really hard to fit in NXT in my schedule,
especially with I guess working as well as in a
full time job and all my extracurricular activities.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
But I'm not here to do a.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Substory, just mentioning that I don't really know much about her.
But the match was basically about Ivy and Ile getting
the victory here, which she did and it was expected.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
I guess they need.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
To push her and give her some momentum going into
what will be in a potential clash with Maxine Duprix.
Ivo has not lost the Maxine Deprix. They have been
longtime friends. Ivy obviously turned on her when she joined
the Alpha Academy or the American Maid. It was the
Alpha Academy, but it became the American Maid. And now
iven I gets a chance to battle. And I did

(06:08):
call that this would happen. It's a great first opponent
for Maxine Dupre. I do expect Dupre to win, but
I do like this, and it gives opportunity for the
mid card superstars to battle, and that's what we want
because before this, Ivy and I wasn't really doing much.
And yeah, again going back to why we talk about
main event, we get to talk about people like Ivy
and Ile who are in those conversations for inscontinental titles,

(06:33):
and that's what's going to be happening with her, So
that gives her momentum. And as for our fear, it's
just an opportunity to get on to the main stage
and be on a crowd. And I think she performed
really well. I think she did a really good job there.
Wasn't really too much to observe from it because obviously
we don't know the promo work and everything, But from
what I saw, she seemed like she did a really

(06:54):
good job. So maybe we'll see her again on main
event in the foreseeable future.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
But yeah, that pretty much wraps up that match.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
We then move on to raw lots of promos in
this main event the segments were covering, we had Rear
Ripley and Eerskuy making their entrance to the ring. Rea
obviously welcoming the fans to Monday Night. Rio said that
their bodies are a little banged up, but they won
the war. Ripley also mentioned it took a while for

(07:22):
them to be on the same page, but at Wargames
that came out victorious. Ripley also said that the Kabuki
Warriors wanted to betray her best friend, so she doesn't
care how banged up they are, how broken her nose is.
They do want revenge. So going back to obviously their feud,
which sort of was the precipice for war Games anyway,
re Ripley said that it starts by taking the women's

(07:43):
tag team titles from the Kabuki Warriors, and then the
Earth Guy just shouted that no one is ready for Rio,
obviously taking the line from Asca that she normally does.
And that's where Charlotte Flair and Alexibliss make their way
onto the stage, interrupting this, basically saying that Bliss overheard
them wanting a shot at the tag team titles, but

(08:04):
Flair said to pump the brakes about the titles because
they are the ones that are first in line.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Yeah, and then rear Ripley basically says that.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Flair doesn't step for anyone, but the Bliss then suggested
a match for the two teams, basically trying to hype
up who the number one contender is going for the
title as well, and that's what pretty much set this up.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
So I like it.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
I like that we obviously have Wargames, but Wargames is
sort of leading to something as well, not just them
having the Wargames match up and then just.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Just all of them dispersing.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
We obviously know what happened on SmackDown as well with
lash Legend and Nia Jack's getting involved in there too,
So like I said, the women's tag team division is back.
It's great to see them feuding It's great to see
that just because yeah, they're in a Wargames match, doesn't
mean we forget about it and we move on to
our They move on to their own single stuff.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
So it was great to see. I like it, and
obviously it sets.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Up the main event for Monday Night Raw, and that
was Charlotte Flannelexby has taken on Rear.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Ripley, which we'll get to a bit later.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
We then had the Judgment Day coming out Dom Masteria
making his way to the ring with Finnbala, JD Raccall
and Roxanne.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Dom said that he beat the greatest of all time.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
And he beat the goat, which makes him the greatest Mysterio,
the greatest Lichador. Dom also admitted he didn't do it alone.
He thanked Finn, JD Racalon, Roxanne, and then introduced liv Morgan,
who he thanked the most. She made her entrance to
the ring, first time back since on Raw since she
returned that Survivor series, and with that grusive injury, Live

(09:48):
shouted that she's back. She said that she knows no
one saw her coming. That's true, neither did John Cena
nice Line. Dom also said that they knew Sena would
figure out the Judgment Day's plan. Once that failed, that
played right up to their sleeves bringing in Live Morgan.
She also mentions that since she's been gone, she's been
hearing things about the Judgment Day.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Showed that the Judgment Day is weak, it's falling apart.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
But she said all of that changes because Live Morgan
is back and they're back to take everything that's their.
So yeah, like Live Morgan coming back has given has
taken the ninth life, so they got one more life.
I guess the Judgment Day to roll out. They've been
going on for a few years now, and they've been
so stale, and they've been on and off, and now

(10:32):
we've Lived Morgan coming back. It brings back the excitement
for the Judgment Day. It brings them back to the
heights until things eventually inevitably will fall apart.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Here.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
There have been some conversations about, and we'll get to
it later, how much better Live Morgan would be with
having an all women's faction with raqual and Roxanne. I
do like the idea of that, but I also like
the idea of how Dom's involved and JD and Finn
and the fact that Finn and Live have had some
history and some beef, so it'll be good to sort

(11:03):
of reenact that and see what will happen there. We
are waiting for the Judgment Days to inevitably implode, but
right now I can deal with maybe one more sort
of small run with the Judgment Day, especially with liv
Morgan coming back. And it's certainly not the last time
we hear from Live Morgan as well, because yeah, she
did a lot of work on Raw and she was

(11:23):
definitely the MVP, going after Stephanie Vakera as well backstage
and basically saying that like congratulations, but she's back, so
she's obviously going to be going for the women's title
and that's something that it's awesome, like Live just pulling
the strings coming back and just making an impact, and
that's what a star does, and it's great to see

(11:44):
her back, and she's really putting the life back into
Judgment Day, let's be honest. We then had another promo
segment where we had the vision come out with Paul Hayman.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
He shouted out brock Lesna and.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Drew McIntyre, but he also shouted out Logan Hall, he
shouted out bron Breaker, and he shouted out CM Punk.
This is where essentially Paul Hayman announced that on the
first raw of twenty twenty six, which was the Netflix Anniversary,
Seampunk will lose the world title as a bron Breaker,
essentially setting up the match between bron Baker and CM Punk,

(12:18):
which was the right call. Obviously, we know that bron
Breaker pins CM Punk, so we were expecting this match,
and quite frankly, Seampunk hasn't had an opponent since he's
won the title, So essentially, yeah, that sets up a
match between those two.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
And it gave the stage four to.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Me personally, and there was a bit of mistakes in it,
let's be honest, the promo that for me solidified that
bron Breaker is truly the future.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
That's that's what I took out from it.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
We'll go into what he said, but I just want
to react to it first because like, unbelievable promo and
just that's what you want your stars to do. Get exposed,
get into their uncomfortable zones and pull out a promo
like that was fantastic and it just showed to me that, yeah,
this guy means business and he really is the future.
So a little about what he said, he said he

(13:07):
was upset, and not because of the mystery man who
ruined the opponent. So it looks as though there is
some uncertainty when it comes to this mystery man. Is
it someone that is helping the vision, is it a
ploy from them, a bit of mind games, or is
it truly just a random person.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
We'll find out as the weeks go by.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
I'm hoping to find out soon because I don't really
want this one to drag and I'm really keen to know.
I'm also impatient for it as well. But he said
he was upset of how easy it was to beat
seam Punk. He said he thought it a bit harder
to beat Punk since he grew up idolizing him, but
he realized that Punk is nothing but a soft ass
B word.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Awesome.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Bron Breakers said that Punk is no different from any
other veteran holding everyone down.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
He trash, said Seth Roland, saying he should worry about
what's going on in his home because his wife is
a bigger star than him.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
He is, Yeah, again questionable, but still I like the
sort of train he's going on there. He said that
on January fifth, it's going to be a different kind
of fight because on Saturday. They tried to break his
neck and ruin his dream.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
That is true.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
That was quite dangerous. I really thought that that really
was going to happen. And he said that he's going
to ruin Punk's life. Is going to come for his
career and everything and every good memory that people remember.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
He also said he's coming for it all.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
He said he remembered at WrestleMania last year when Punk
congratulated Broun for his success. He was fired up, started
getting crashing out, which is funny. I love when he's
saying when he does that. But then he ended with
basically saying that Punk isn't going to realize he isn't
even close to the best of the world. And he
was shouting at the end that he was basically And yeah,

(14:37):
that was an excellent promo.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
You could see the passion.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
You could see just truly how big that moment was
for him. And I think he really is a little
bit of a game breaker for me. That's how I
took it, if I'm honest there. But yeah, bron Breaker,
big shout outs to him, and yes, seem king to
see where this goes. I don't suspect that he'll win
the title. But he's definitely Tea and he's making a

(15:01):
massive case for this. So let's see what he does.
Because I think Bronson Red and bron Breaker truly deserve
to be on WrestleMania, and how they'll get there, we'll
have to We'll have to find out, and then we
go back to main event where we have Otis Olpher
Academy has been there six weeks in a row, they
said on the commentary. Reminded me six weeks in a row.

(15:23):
We're talking about Alpha Academy and Russev Russev again, same
story with Damian Priest. I think they're in the same
position right now. They don't know what to do with
Rusev and they've got to figure out what to do
with him fast because he's been doing really well since
his back, but not anything that's good enough. He went
for the Intercontinental title. It's hard for him to get
it right now since they're the Hill is taking it.

(15:45):
Does he need a change of scenery, maybe go to SmackDown.
I don't know, but that's something that I think they
need to explore. He gets the victory here with the Accolade,
which is obviously what we all expected, but what we
want to see is what the hell he's doing on
on Raw and on SmackDown, because obviously he made the
run to the last time is now he got to
a decent I think he went to a quarterfinal when

(16:08):
he lost to La and I still it's not good enough,
and we need to find out what what roussef is
going to be doing in the business. Whether that means
he might go on to SmackDown go for the US title,
I don't know. But like again, it's the same as
the naming pre situation, not really doing much with the
stars like that, which is a bit of a shame there.

(16:28):
And then we finish up with the main event of
the night, and that is really a near Sky versus
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. The way the match finished
was with a disqualification. The match was really good. We
had lots of near falls. We had the Abigail Sister
Abigail and the Sky make him to say, We had

(16:50):
a mean closed line to Charlotte Flair. We had the
headbart and we did think that Alexa Bliss was about
to rip tie, was about to riptire Alexiblist.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
And that's when we had that.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
And then the over the Moon Salt, but that's where
again Flair broke up the pin as well, and as
they were all down on the ground, that's when the
Kabuki Warriors came in tacked everyone. Referee obviously called for
the bell and after the match we did see them
get attacked, and then we saw Bailey and Lyra Valkira

(17:27):
making their way to the ring to save and try
to clean up house. Obviously they are trying to be
involved in the tag team titles as well. That's essentially
why they came out, because there was really no reason too.
They went in war games and not involved, but they're
finding a way to get them involved as well. And
then we had Live Morgan coming out with Rocca, Redriguz
and Roxx and Perez attacking everyone. Raquel hit Tabourne and

(17:49):
Oscar Peris hit the pop rocks on Bailey and yeah,
they cleared up shop, showing again why the judgment day
is strong.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
We had Recover drig and rox San Perez hold up
the titles.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Perees tried to give it to Live Morgan, but Live
told Roxanne may hold it because.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
I'm gone for the women's world title. I don't need
no women's tag team title on my waist.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
But I loved it because a lot of people would
have suspected that she was going to come and have
some beef with rox and Perez, and it doesn't look
to be the case. It looks like we're creating a
little mini faction within the Judgment Day with these three.
And if I see Roxan Perez and Rocal Rodriguez holding
the titles, and then Live Morgan with the women's world.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Title, like, that's amazing to me, and I think that's
a mean faction to go by.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
You can eventually split them from the Judgment Day or
keep them involved whatsoever, but having them three as a powerhouse,
it's amazing and I'm.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Glad they've done it.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Eventually, we are going to see probably Roxan Perez cash
in on Live Morgan next year. She's my early contender
for moneyar the Bank. That's how I think it will
go by. But again, that's such a long time away,
but we can definitely hype up an eventual few between
Roxanne and Live Morgan for the future too.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
And no, Live Morgan's got so much people that she
can work with.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Obviously Roxanne Perez, You've got Stephanie Vekere that's coming up.
But the one that I'd be so keen for seeing
is her and A J. A Lee going at it,
especially on the MIC, just seeing the promos, and I
think we're calling for that eventually, and that's how good
Live Morgan is and we need a style like her
in there.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
She's just she's amazing. She's just doing an incredible job.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
And that's pretty much how Raw and the main event
wraps up, and basically to finish up, we will just
do a quick rapid fire sort of preview of what's
going to happen on Saturday Night's main event. We have
starting we'll go, We'll go from obviously John Cena and
Guntha is going to be the first match. I don't

(19:45):
know how I feel about that, but I think it's
John Cena is doing it as a testament to not
make it about him, but I think it should finish
like him with him, to be honest. So yeah, I
don't know. I it's a good gesture, but again it's
John Scena. Please do the main event, give us like
a thirty minute show and close out, walk out the

(20:05):
ring like it'll be weird, Like it'll be weird just
seeing the first match done and then just like we
get that high and that emotional feeling of Johnson at
being done, and then the show just goes on with
some random film matches, which that's the truth, unless they
add some more on Raw and on SmackDown. But again,
Cody Rhods over Femi. I do expect Cody Rhads to

(20:26):
win this one. I really want to see Oberfemi in
ring as well. I'm excited to.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
See how we go against Cody Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
I think will be a pretty long and lengthy match,
and I think Oberfemi is ready for the main card
soon and I hope that once he drops the title
he gets there because I think it's time to see
Oberfemi in WWE all in Raw and SmackDown. And then
we have Soul Rooker taking on Bailey. I think soul
Rooker will.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
Get the victory here.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
I suspect that Bailey will do a good job, but
I feel like she's gonna put soul Rooker over. She's
incredible as well. So Roker has been doing really good
job and really good stuff on n XT as well. Well.
She obviously teams up with Zaria as well. Former Rossie
or fellow Aussie, But yeah, I expect soul Rooker to win.
I don't really have a real rationale behind it. I
just think Bailey is just someone that would put her
over in this case. And then we got John Cena

(21:14):
taken on Gunthera and I think Guantha is going to win,
and it'll be interesting to see how they do it.
Will they make John Cena tap out for the first time.
The last time he lost in a submission match was
when I'm pretty sure he versed Russev and he done
him with the accolade and just passed out but didn't
tap out. Maybe they'll do that with John Cena in
a sleeper or using that move. We'll have to wait

(21:36):
and see, But I think Guanha wins it and we'll
get a nice farewell of John Cena, and yeah, we'll
send him off in the Stars again. It's going to
be really emotional for that when that happens, But yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
That's part of the business. Not everyone can wrestle forever.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
And I'm glad John Cena is calling the quicks when
he feels and when he wants, and that's respectful in itself.
Hopefully we do see him around, but I doubt it
will be often, but when it.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
Will, it will be awesome. Just even if we just
see the entrance.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
The entrance itself is iconic and at least we can
get a cheer and a pop to it. But yeah,
that pretty much wraps up the main event review. Thank
you very much for tuning in again. I'll be back
with a SmackDown review this week.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
Two more.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
I think Saturday night Australian time will record, so that
will mean that around Sunday morning you should expect that
one and then the usual.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Time for the main event.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
But like I said at the start, if you have
