Speaker 1 (00:02):
This is WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre and you're listening to
the WWE podcast show.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
The one that everybody wants me sixteen.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
So guys, just work your ass is mind. You're going
to acknowledge me.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
What is going on?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Everybody, and welcome to this week's episode of the Main
Event Review A week out until Wrestle Palooser. That means
we'll be doing our Wrestle po Looser predictions as well
after we review the matches on Main Event and before
we get into all that, obviously, Triple H announced that
twenty twenty seven, what is that, WrestleMania forty three will
(00:57):
be in Saudi Arabia, So we'll be the first ever
WrestleMania outside the USA and Canada. And yeah, massive cash grab. Obviously,
the only reason why it's justified, or there is a
reason to why they've gone there is only because of
the money, because in no world should WrestleMania ever be
(01:19):
held in Saudi Arabia in my opinion, or even yet
alone countries outside of the US and Toronto. The only
one that's fitting of that is maybe a UK one
in Wembley, Wembley Stadium holding around eighty thousand people, but
even that, it's always been in the United States and
(01:40):
for it to be the first time in Saudi Arabia
just doesn't feel right. It's definitely to me a cash grab,
which is quite quite annoying. But again, that's what they've
decided to do, and I guess we'll all still be
watching it but not feeling sort of the same when
it is over there, because no one's ever really seen
(02:02):
a WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia. I know the crowds are
quite decent, but just just doesn't feel right to be there,
and that's sort of where I'm going to kind of
leave that at. But yeah, WrestleMania will be in Saudi Arabia,
and that's probably the latest wrestling news that has come out.
But again, moving forward to the main event. The first match,
we had the LWO Cruis del Toro and Walking Well
(02:26):
taking on the war Raiders, and this match has happened
I reckon six seven, eight times on one main event,
and this time they've given war.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Raiders the victory.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Here these two tag teams not really doing much. Again,
there's not much in happening in that in that aspect,
so I think when it comes to the tag team
division in Raw, it's again very much struggling and hopefully with.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
The sort of I don't know how I could.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Say the new tag team coming in potentially of Jimmy
and Jay, that could potentially spark a bit of a
potential run for them to elevate that tag team division.
Who knows, But again, it's not looking good there, especially
when it comes to the lack of tag teams in
(03:21):
the Raw division at the moment and these two just
getting man of it matches that are pretty much significant.
The LWO struggling to find their.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Own, especially without Raymisterior at the Helm.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
And the war Raiders. They're good for a certain period,
but to really be serious for a championship is quite questionable,
and I think, yeah, that's where we see difficulties in
the Tag team division. But I think war Raiders was
always going to be the correct choice for this team
to win, given that they probably have a likely chance
(03:53):
of winning the titles, given that they've had this sort
of new model and staff. But there were Heels before.
I'd like to see them because Heels again and just
be a powerhouse and sort of change their perspective because
it just seems like it's rinse and repeat for the
war Raiders at the moment, and it's not being too
kind of convincing for my standards. But again, they get
(04:14):
the victory, they get somewhat of momentum if you want
to count that, and that concludes I guess the first
match of the main event. As we move on to
the next segment, which we have the USSO is going
into the ring and Jimmy USO coming to raw.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
It's good.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
I'm a big fan of it. I feel like Jay
needs to help there, especially given that he hasn't really
shown to be a true champion. Obviously he's got the
heat from the fans, but in terms of just holding
promos and even his performances, they're just not up to
the standard of a world championship or world champion unfortunately.
(04:51):
And you can even see it when Jimmy USO came
into the ring, he was handling most.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Of the promo work.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
He is a lot better than Jay on the microphone,
and I feel like Jay really struggles on the mic,
and that's where Jimmy comes in and really helps him
out there, and you can see them two work really
together on the mic, and basically they were just calling
out the Bronze essentially said that they were going.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
To challenge them at Wrestle Boluser.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
The match was confirmed, and as they were having that discussion,
Ala Knight came in tried to attack the Bronze in
the backstage, and it led to a sort of pullback,
and you saw in the ring that La Knight was
about to hit jay Uso and it didn't happen, but
(05:34):
jay us wasn't too happy with that, and that sort
of set up the main event match with Ala Knight
and Bronson Reid, which we shall obviously get to later
on down the track. We then have the next segment
that main event puts on raw aj Lee cutting a
promo on her mental health obviously and bringing that all
(05:56):
up and mentioning that she's obviously been back for a while.
It's great to see a j Lee back and it's
great to see her cutting promas again.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Just reminds me of the old days.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
We had Becky Lynch coming out frustrated, essentially asking for
her title back, and a j Lee left the title
on the floor and basically told her to come and
get it. And then that's when Seth Rowlins came in
to try to sort of dampen the mood a bit
and try to fix the situation up. And then that's
where a JA Lee said two options. Either Becky Lynch
comes in gets another black eye, or they have a
(06:27):
match at Wressell Poalzer for Yeah for guests Seampunk and
herself as a mixed tag team taking on Becky Lynch
and Seth Rolins, which the match ends up being official. Obviously,
seam Punk attacking seth Rollins from the back caused that strife.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Becky Lynch wasn't too happy, but.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Obviously a j Lee and Seampunk were really happy with
that outcome, and it was more than expected that that
match was going to occur. We are going to have
that mixed tag team match, which will be quite exciting.
It probably won't end a few but it will probably
hype up Becky Lynch and aj Lee going on a
potential intercontinental run and seeing Punk and seth Rolins continuing
(07:07):
to fight for for that World Heavyweight championship there, so
we get that mixed title match. Should be exciting, should
be really good. It will be great to see aj
Lee back in the ring for the first time. I
think that will be her first match in over ten years,
which is quite spectacular and truly exciting.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
So let's see how that goes.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Looking forward to that match, just given that that storyline
has been going on for a long time, and I'm
a big fan of Becky Lynch's sort of hell turned
so she's doing a really good job. It's just crazy
that she's probably doing more with the Intercontinental Women's title
than any other belt at the moment, and that is
technically meant to be a mid cut belt, so she's
definitely elevating that championship for sure. I can't say much
(07:49):
about the other women's wrestlers one until we have the
match between es Guy and Stephanie Vecer at Wrestle Poaloza,
which we'll get to you later, but that pretty much
sums up that sort of promo. And then we have
the second match of main event. We get Ray Phoenix
taking on angel One Paf of the Los Garzas, who
I think are still Triple A World champs. Correct me
(08:10):
if I'm mistaken. They might have dropped the title, but
it's been a while since we've seen them in WWE.
They're doing great work in Triple R, but in WWE
not too much. We have ray Phoinix getting the victory here,
and it makes sense given that, And I'm just going
to say it because I watched backdown that he had
that open challenge with Sam Muse. But other than that,
(08:33):
we've heard that Andres left, Andreida has left the business,
which is also sad news, and I wanted to touch
up on that they were a tag team. So I
don't really know what's going to happen with ray Phoenix.
I think he just needs to team up with his brother.
I've said it all along. I think both of them
are really stale at the moment. They've come back. They've
looked very good in their first sort of month, but
(08:53):
since then haven't really done much. And I think them
two teaming up as a tag team, especially on Raw
maybe where the tag team division is obviously quite live,
it could be a good thing for both of them, because, yeah,
Ray Phoenix's not the match and nor is Pentther at
the moment, so I guess the match gave him momentum,
but he lost it straight away and I don't think
he's going to get another opportunity at the Bolt anytime soon,
(09:16):
so I'm not sure what he'll do from then on.
But again, We'll have to wait and see, because again,
I think it's the same story of Pens. I know
he's got some feud with the New Day. Maybe he
calls Ray Phoenix for some help and they just become
a tag team. I think it would make the most
sense given the landscape of where they're at at the
moment as well. We then pretty much cap off with
(09:36):
the main event, which was Alle Night taking on Bronson
Reid and Bronson Reid got the victory with the help
of bron Breaker forming a distraction with a Defallly Driver,
which was quite a surprise. They didn't finish off with
the tsunami, but I kind of liked it. It was
a good way to sort of finish the match. We
then had bron Breaker then attacking l A Knight. That's
(09:59):
when Jimmy used So came in. That's when ja Uso
also came to help. They brought out the steel chairs
and they pretty much cleared the ring and you saw
Jimmy Usso and La Night talking basically thanking each other,
and that's where Jay Uso ripped out a spear and
speared Ala Knight. And how I think, well, what I
(10:19):
think of it is that are they teasing a jay
Uso potential he'll turn. I'm not too sure, but he's
definitely having some problems at the moment knowing what to
do and how to feel because a lot of the
stuff that he's done, as Jimmy mentioned, is a lot
like what Roman Reigns used to do as well, So
I'm not sure if Jimmy can get him on the
(10:41):
good side or if Jusho is going to hit that
bad side. It would be compelling to see Jausho turn
heel and sort of just change the way he's been going.
I know he gets a lot of good sort of
crowd pops with his entrance theme, but him being a
heel could maybe elevate him to doing what he needs
to do, and that's win a world championship. But again,
(11:03):
that pretty much concludes the main event and Monday Night
Raw a quick one there, just to get through before
we go into the rest of the looser predictions theirs,
there wasn't really too much going on at the moment.
We are hyping up to the first ever ESPN PL
which they're trying to make bigger now than it was before.
(11:23):
Maybe if it's because if it's the debut I'm not
sure if that's the case or whether they want to
make this a yearly thing that's massive, but it'll be
held at I think it's the game Bridge Field House
in Indiana. I think that's where the Pacers play. I
don't think they're doing it at the Yes, they're not
doing it in the same place where they had the
row Rum with. They're having it there, so a lot smaller,
(11:46):
but still should be a pretty cracking event. We have,
as mentioned, Er Sky taken on Stephanie Vacaire as the
women's match for the World World Championship, and I think
Stephanie Vacaire wins this one. I think there'll be some
interferences with the Kabuki Warriors. You can see that ASCAR
is getting into it, so I can see Stephanie evver
(12:08):
Care winning it and then Eskuy focusing on Ascar, or
if they do give it to Eoskuy, they might use
the title as a way to sort of hype the boat.
But I sort of thought that they would have a
feud with each other, and I felt like it's time
for Yeah, Eskuy and Asker to go at it against
each other too. Japanese women's wrestlers that are incredible in
(12:30):
the ring and have had a great Korean WWE them
going at it would be extremely exciting and stephanieva Care
can forge her own path of being a women's World champion,
and I think she thoroughly deserves that, and I think
that's what will happen. In my opinion, got the usos
taking on the Vision. I do see Vision winning this.
If they lost to Jay Uso and Roman Reigns, I
(12:53):
don't see them losing again. They've been on a roll
as of late winning singles matches, so I don't see
them losing this. I think the Vision get it done.
I think the US lose this match. It might mean
to the to the detriment of Jus. Jim Us might
take the pin, but j might you signing to sort
of to cross his batch, or even La Night might
do something to sort of interrupt it. But I just
(13:15):
see the Vision taking this one out. We have CM
Punk and aj Lee versus Sephrons and Becky Lynch. I
think Seph Campunk and A j Lee wins is one
AJ's first match. They're not going to start with the
Lost year. I think A j Lee will pin Becky
Lynch and that will move on, and they will move
on to winning or to going for the women's into Continental.
(13:35):
It makes the most sense. I think that that's how
it's going to go down. The match will be very interesting.
We'll have a j Le getting the hot tag and
not being appeared for a long time, but when she does,
the fans will go quite crazy. So yeah, we'll have
to wait and see how that goes, but I definitely
think Sampunk and a j Le get the victory. Here,
(13:57):
we get Cody Rhodes taking on Drew mcintoye for the
undisputed WWE Championship. I'm really happy that Drew McIntyre is
getting what he deserves and that is a title shot,
and he may not win this match, but I think
Cody Rhodes will win and it'll be a pretty good match.
And I think Drew McIntyre and Cody Roads is a
program I've always wanted to see and I'm really excited
(14:19):
for it. I think Cody Roads just gets the victory
because they want to keep the belt on him for
a little longer.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
It would just be weird to see Drew.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
McIntire take the title now, especially just for a regular
match here and then finally for now, until they decide
to add more matches tomorrow's on tomorrow's episode of Raw
or even on SmackDown for last minute sort of pick up.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
We've got John Cena taking on Brocklestar, and this.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Match I think Brockles wins it only because obviously John
Sena is wrapping up with the company and Brockles has
just come back.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
But it could be fifty to fifty.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I think that one of all the matches so far
is the hardest to predict because they may give John
Cena the victory here, but I think if Brookles is
going to be in WW for a while on his
obviously terrible schedule, but there longer than John Cena, I
don't see John Cena winning this match. So I think
that's what's going to happen for Wressell Poloser. I will
(15:20):
have a look at the pending markets and see how
that one goes when they come up a lot closer.
But I think that's that's how the sort of predictions
will finish up. And yeah, it might beach just be
five matches, but honestly some five really solid matches there,
so definitely sething to look forward to. Maybe they add
one or two more we'll have to wait and see,
but again it's been your boy, Daniel. This is another
(15:43):
main event review sprinkled up with some Wrestler Bolivia Polzer previews.
We'll come up next week with the two matches on
main event and then we'll jump straight into the post
Wrestle Paluza review and see how the matches when and
what it means for sort of. The next which I'm
pretty sure is going to be down under an Australian
Crown Jewel. They may have a Saturday night main event
(16:05):
before No, that's going to be an event, but I'm
pretty sure. But yeah, the next match will be at
Crown Jewel, which is quite exciting. So yeah, I think
that pretty much wraps up main event review and all
the raw segments, So I'll catch you guys next week
for recipalles and stuff.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Cheers.
