(02:08):
It is Tuesday, September twelve, twenty twenty three. It's time to talk
about an I RAW. Maybe thoseof you who are Jet fans out there
can take some solace, take sometime to talk about a sport that that
maybe makes you feel better about yourlife, and take a moment. Right.
I don't know how many Jet fanswe got out there, but boy,
(02:30):
you can't. You can't write thisstuff with Aaron Rodgers going down.
But this is not an NFL podcastit's a WW podcast, and we are
going to be talking about the MondayNight raw that took place last night in
Virginia and the scope. We're gonnatalk about it because a major return happened
(02:52):
and that major return Naya Jacks. We'll talk about that in a minute and
my thoughts on it. But asalways, if you want to get rid
of those ads that you hear allover the place on my show, you
can do that for really for freeas a seventy free trial anyway on Patreon
dot com. Slash ww podcast andApple Podcasts both offer ad free experiences that
(03:14):
also have a free trial attached tothem tries for a week. If you
like us, stick with us.If you don't, well then you tried,
right. But I think if yougive it a try, you're gonna
want to stick around, because onceyou get a taste of ad free you
wonder how you listen to podcasts before. I'm the same way with the shows
I listened to. But we alsohave exclusive shows that are going up on
(03:35):
the SmackDown tier and above. Youcan check those out starting on Friday.
Anthony DeMarco is going to be movingto exclusively to the Smackdowns here and above
talking about the after Dark show that'llbe very adult. Okay, he'll still
be doing current State of WWE,but outside of me reposting some old shows
(03:57):
of his, he's going to beexclusive for his solo Retro show, or
rather his solo after Dark show isgoing to be only on Patreon, So
be a good time to check thatout and get yourself set up so that
you don't miss it. All Right, let's talk about Minette Ron. Hey,
let's talk about Nya Jacks. Butbefore we get there, let's talk
about the match that's set it up, and of course where Ripley and Raquel
(04:21):
Rodriguez. Now, admittedly I wasvery harsh more than others about their match
they had at Paypack. It wasnot a big fan of it. It
felt clunky, there were some botchesthat took me out of the moment,
and I don't think they had generallygreat chemistry. I didn't think it was
a bomb of a match. Itjust felt it felt just clunky. It's
(04:43):
the perfect word for it. Andthis time around, though, I think
these ladies improved, improved immensely, and credit to Raquel, credit to Rhea.
They have a similar style of power, a similar style of big moves,
dominant its strength, and it wasa matchup that improved significantly over its
(05:06):
predecessor when they faced one another atPayback. And the chemistry is what I
think was was, you know, most improved the chemistry Now that should be
expected for most matchups. When youhave more time together, you learn each
other's maneuvers, what could be comingnext, how to counter and make it
(05:28):
look good, and work with thedifferent dynamics of that individual. This was
a much improved match. Now,I'm not going to call it match of
the year, but it was anenjoyable match. Both women beat the hell
out of each other. The totobomba on the apron had to have killed
rear Ripley. They gave each othersome some pretty big bumps and had a
(05:50):
hell of an effort. And nowthey went about I think it was like
about twelve minutes or so, andthen Nia Jacks, like an Arko came
out of nowhere and attacked Raquel Rodriguezand left her laying and then ended up
(06:14):
causing Raquel to lose to Ria afterriptide. So the ref didn't see it,
but she did cause obviously a massiveadvantager allow it for an massive advantage
for to get the victory. Andthen after the match, rias standing tall,
Naya enters the ring and she headbutsRhea and then gives her essentially a
(06:38):
Vader bomb and leaves Leah Leah Riacompletely squashed in the middle of the ring.
And there's a couple of things thatI want to say about this.
Number one a positive. It's alwaysgood when you're adding depth to the women's
division. It's a good thing.I think that the women and have gotten
(07:00):
a main event. It's a championshipmatch, it should be the main event.
So that's that's good. That thedivision as a whole, not just
SmackDown but Raw, need help, and they went over this last night with
Anthony DeMarco. In our current state, they kind of feel directionless, especially
SmackDown but Raw at times has feltlike it doesn't know where it's going.
(07:24):
The Becky Lynch Tris Stratus saga wenton forever, and while we all love
the cage match, it was timefor that to end, and at times
was very uninspiring. Now, obviouslyBecky is going to an XT in which,
at this very moment, as Irecord this is competing in a match
with Tippany Stratton for the NXT Women'sChampionship, and that'll be a fun little
(07:47):
detour for Becky until she gets reroutedto the main roster to face whoever,
and that that's all. That's allwell and good and having again depth,
changing up who has the focus onthem is a good thing. Returning stars
more often than not a good thing. Okay, so let me that's the
(08:09):
positives, and it also gives Rhaa new opponent the kind of negatives or
maybe not so much. I'll letyou guys decide. The crowd reaction for
Nia Jacks not great. Now wasit supposed to be great? I don't
know, because she attacked both theheel and the baby face. She caused
(08:30):
the baby face to lose the match, but that ultimately attacked the heel,
and more often than not too whenyou have a returning star, whether they
left or as the heel or ababy face, fans forget and are simply
just excited to be there and tosee you return while they're they're live.
So Nia generally got kind of aa negative reaction, almost a reaction that
(08:56):
I could feel that wasn't the heelhe that you're looking for of you know,
Oh my god, I want tosee someone beat her up. Nia
Jacks is gonna get what's coming toher. This character makes me want to
see a baby face stead up toher and kick her in the head.
No, the feeling I got,and maybe you guys can second this or
(09:18):
not. The type of reaction thatthe crowd gave her was more of just
no, not Nia Jacks. Please. No, that's kind of the feeling
I got. Or maybe that wasmy own head. Maybe I was just
projecting my own thoughts onto the crowd. Now. Putting all of her outside
(09:39):
beliefs and political, you know, proclivities aside, just her as a character.
Okay. I know she's done alot of outside activity and made a
lot of her beliefs and political leaningspublic, and that's a discussion for another
day. But just Nia Jacks thecharacter, Nia Jacks the wrestler. She's
(10:01):
not particularly interesting to me. Andsure, she has an advantage that I
think is well utilized in her size. I don't think it's a negative.
I think that, you know, while she is obviously a heavier woman,
if you looked at the numbers, probably at least double the average women woman
(10:22):
on the roster at least maybe triplein some cases. But that's again,
that's not me knocking her. Youknow, it will lead to more injuries
on her parts, specifically with herjoints or knees or ankles or hips.
I mean, it just will becausegravity doesn't discriminate. So it just kind
of a fact of life. Whetheryou know, somebody out there says fat
(10:46):
shaming or body shaming. Sorry, you know, well not sorry, it
is what it is. It's justtruth. Okay. So she's gonna have
more injuries, and she does workat a slower pace. I actually think
it's a positive. Okay, there'sa positive for you. She's a bigger
woman, which means she works slower, which I think, in this day
and age of one hundred mile anhour pace that everyone seems to need to
(11:09):
reach in their matchups, nia jackswill slow things down, and that's good.
I do like the pacing of matchesoccasionally being slower. Every match doesn't
need to feel the same. Sothat's positive for me. The negative for
her again is she's very much moreinjury prone than somebody who is, you
(11:31):
know, not as heavy as sheis. Just life, just fact.
Now, the whole injury cloud hasbeen hanging above her head for quite a
while. I even knock on itand every once or I kind of knock
on her every once in a whilefor that. And I have never claimed,
though that Nia Jack's purposefully has everinjured anyone outside of She's had a
(11:56):
couple of spats with Charlotte in thering that were real, and you can
go watch those, But the injuriesthat actually occurred, I don't believe any
of them were purposeful. Okay, she was just I think in the wrong
place at the wrong time, badexecution, and there are some there is
some fault to be laid at thefeet of her opponents too. I don't
(12:20):
think she's really solely at fault. She's been she's kind of become the face
of the women's injury, the women'seye l if you will, and almost
to an unfair degree, because again, she's been involved in a lot of
injuries. Now, that is arisk, it is, and I think
(12:41):
the fact that she's as much she'sstrong as hell, and she's a bigger
woman and works a much different stylethan most of the rosters used to working
that does also pose a risk.So you may continue to see additional injuries
not purposeful on acches with Naya.So that's that's the kind of outside storyline
(13:03):
stuff. Now inside the storyline, you know, you have all these other
women beyond Naya, Zia Lee forexample, Teagan Knox, Alba fire is
La Down, all these women amongothers that have come up, and WWE
has no idea what hell to dowith them. And instead of giving them
(13:26):
an opportunity to face Rhea, tohelp build them, build them up and
build a name for themselves, theybring back Naia Jacks, of which there
was no real I don't think therewas ever a grassroots, organic movement to
want to bring Nia Jack's back.I mean, I know she made a
cameo appearance at the Rumble, andthen she went back into hiding and then
(13:48):
she reappeared here, So she wentfrom January to September, and I just
don't feel like fans were super excitedto see her. Now. It's not
she I don't think that she willtake away from the women's division, But
is she really going to add anythingthat was missing? Because we already had
a power versus power Rhea and Raquelmatchup. Presumably, what's going to happen
(14:11):
here given that Raquel was screwed outof the belt and that Rhea was also
attacked by Naya and she doesn't haveany alliance here. You would imagine it's
a triple threat at fast Lane forthe women's women's title. You would imagine
that's where they're going. And totheir credit, that is a very interesting
(14:33):
matchup that I don't think I've everseen in the women's division of three powerhouse
women going toe to toe beating thehell out of each other, slow pace,
but you know, just muscling eachother around. That is intriguing to
me. I don't think, youknow, to see Nia Jack's go face
(14:56):
to face with Raquel Rodriguez is intriguingfrom a power standpoint. But we've kind
of we've already seen this dynamic withRaquel and Ria, so now we're going
to duplicate that that dynamic with NiaJacks and a slower, much slower pace
than and then Raquel even has alsoyou know, again, when you look
(15:22):
at the women that have been leftout of this, it's kind of maddening.
And Becky Lynch continues to be outof the sights of Ria Ripley and
vice versa. For the time being. It seems like they're saving Becky Lynch
and Ria Ripley for I don't know, I would say Survivor series, but
maybe well beyond that, they knowit's a match they have in their back
(15:43):
pocket. Same with Bianca bell Airversus Rea Ripley that has not happened yet.
These matchups they know they have inthe bank ready to fire out whenever
they need to. Of course,Bianca, I guesses, I think she
is injured currently. So my wholerap of this with nai Jack's is I
(16:03):
don't love it. I'm always willingto give things a chance before I say
worst thing in the world. No, I'm gonna see, let's play it
out. I don't believe she's goingto become champion. I don't think Nijack
should become champion at this point.I don't think anybody in the women's division
other than should be champion right now. Ria Ripley, you know, has
(16:26):
been kind of sidelined in a weirdway since WrestleMania. But even though she's
involved in one of the most formidablegroups in the w WE, she's hasn't
had her own real, real programuntil Roquel, So you can pretty much
bank on a triple threat at fastLane, and that should be a very
interesting, dynamic show of power.Who can lift to the crowd going,
(16:49):
oh my god. Right, it'sgonna be a fun matchup because it's gonna
feel so much different than the typicalwomen's match or typical triple threat. So
I'll leave it there all right. Now we're gonna move on to the beginning
of the show with ju So Andlet me just say, I know a
lot of you say, oh,you didn't comment on this or that on
(17:10):
Raw. You didn't talk about this? What about that? That's fine,
I mean, just no, upfront, I'm not going to get to everything
that happened in the show. It'snot feasible with my timeframe. So if
there is and our things that youyou think to yourself, Wow, he
didn't talk about that. How didhe miss this? What happened here?
Just send it to the mailbag. That's a great time for me to answer
your specific raw questions. Okay,so you can go to my mailbag,
(17:36):
which is mailbag at WWE podcast dotcom, or if you're a patron,
you just send me a direct messagein the system. That's also a great
way, and patrons get priorities, priority support, Priority placement in the mail
bag. So that's just a disclaimerhere. Send me specific questions if I
know I answer them about Raw,or I skip over something. All right.
(17:56):
So Jus comes out massive reaction, maybe his biggest reaction to date,
and it's really specifically since he's leftthe Bloodline, and he said it felt
good to be out of the Bloodlineon his own and to be on of
course Minette Raw because we always haveto announce the show we're watching, which
is just ridiculous. Kevin Owens madehis entrance quickly and said that Jay is
(18:19):
now on the KO show. He'sbeen wearing Jay Us has been and he
said there's a lot of people thatdon't want him on Raw. Jay that
is. He mentioned that Matt Royleand Drew said they and said they weren't
alone, and Owen said Cody wantedhim there and Sammy welcomed him with open
arms. But that's it. Owensaid Jay had to prove to him he's
not the same guy he was whenhe ran with the Bloodline. Then the
(18:42):
judgment day came out and Priest saidhe knew that Jay would need some time
to figure out if he wants tojoin the bloodline as an invitation, or
rather the judgment day as an invitationwas extended and Don tried to speak,
but that the fans are just notletting him talk. I mean, I'm
kind of split now on the wholedom booing him off the mic thing,
(19:06):
because as fans or look a lookat this or listen to this. If
you're a www, that's the kindof heat you dream of that you can't
buy from fans. That's the kindof heat that is so rare. But
is it more just the fans goinginto business for themselves following a trend.
(19:26):
I don't think so here because Donis so disliked naturally, this is just
pure heat that we haven't seen ina long time, that they don't even
want to hear him talk. Nowthat the other side of this is as
a fan at home, you're like, God, I want to know what
he's saying. And if I'm DOM, I'm thinking to myself, cool,
(19:49):
I mean, I don't have topressure myself to cut a promo every week
on wrong because even if I ifI screw up in my promo, no
one's gonna hear it, you know, Like I could stutter my word words,
not say the right things, andno one's sitting there going, wait,
what did Tom say? I reallywant to know, because he can't
hear it anyway, So what hesays is almost irrelevant. That almost hinders
(20:10):
him as to develop as a character, though, does it not. As
fans we hate him so much wedon want him to talk. At the
same time, we're hurting his progressionas a as a character because we can't.
We won't allow him to talk andhear what he says to say.
So it's a double edged sword here. I'm of the belief that you and
(20:30):
if I had the power, thatI would tell the fans you know,
boom upon entrance, boom a littlebit, you know when he starts to
talk, but don't do it tothe level where it drowns out what he's
saying. I want him to getbetter on the mic, but he can't
get better on the mic if he'sconstantly not given an opportunity and is just
(20:51):
completely showered with booze. So it'sI honestly don't know. At the same
time, this is the heat thatyou want to get, This is what
heels dream of. Some heels intheir entire career won't even sniff this kind
of heat. So all right, anyway, there's a Priest said there was
(21:11):
supposed to be a match with Zanein question where he was. Owens said
that Zane wasn't there, and that'swhy he was dressed for a fight.
And eventually, you know, itcame down to Jay and Owens that would
face the tag team champions of FinnBalor and Damian Priest. Of course non
title here. And this match wasabout twelve it was. It was twelve
(21:33):
and a half minutes, and itended with Balor tagging in and took the
middle rold brainbuster from Owens. Priestbroke up the pin, though Priest suffered
a stunner from Owens. Jay triedto superkick Priest, who moved. That
caused Owens to take the super kickfrom Jay. Key moment there and Priest
(21:55):
and Owens fought ringside while Balor hitthe Kuda gras or if you pronounced it
phonetically, this is how it actuallyIf you spell out coup de gras,
here's how it would actually sound phonetically. Sounds ridiculous. Coop to grace.
So maybe I'll just start calling itthat and add some p J mcdona in
there for you guys. So allright, So yeah, Valor hit the
(22:17):
coop to grace on Owens and pinnedhim, and somewhere out there someone's getting
secondhand embarrassment. And then after thematch, Cole said that what happened with
Jay seemed innocent enough, but peopledon't trust him due to his history.
Jay tried to talk to Owens, who glared at him and then limped to
the back without him. So itcontinues to push the story ahead of distrust
(22:42):
of Jay and the roster. Ilike it. It makes sense. I
mentioned this last week, but itcontinues to be pushed and it should.
The Bloodline made a lot of enemiesalong the way, and everyone isn't supposed
to, you know, give himthe grace and forgiveness because he shows up
(23:06):
on their show, you know. And if honestly I was looking at this
objectively or logically, Cody Rhodes was, you know, somehow had a hand
in bringing him to Raw. Hewas, he was, you know,
gunning for him to come to Raw, and he got him to Raw using
his magical political powers. What's init for Cody? He just brought a
(23:32):
guy into the roster, of whichthe majority of the roster doesn't trust and
with good reason. How does Codybenefit from this? Why were we told
that Cody had anything to do withthis? What is his vested interest?
I know Cody was lobbying for Jayto get here. Why why? I
(23:56):
mean, I'm imagining they'll never getto that. But there's other than I
mean, here's the real answer. They want that that move and the credit
of that move to go to Codybecause they know it's a very positive move
in the eyes of fans. Andtherefore you're associating all good things with Cody,
(24:18):
and Cody is involved in all gooddecisions. But I mean, I
see right through that, and Iknow a lot of you guys do too.
All right, let's move on.Backstage. Jay did try to apologize
to Owens, and Owens said theyare in the judgment. They locker room,
and he basically told Jay to gofind his new bloodline and then dye
(24:41):
his hair purple. That was funny. So the distrust and discord continues between
Jay and Owens and others. Okay, the Mids versus a Cure to Zala
quick match here. Two minutes,Mid's got the victory with the skull crushing
finale, and that's pretty much ithere. I did not see any other
(25:06):
anything else that happened in this match. This was not on Hulu with good
reason. But yeah, no,no l A Night here, which is
okay. You know what, Iactually like the fact that La Night is
not going to be on every singleshow. You know that that's part of
the mystique and reaction that Roman gets, even though he's a heel, is
(25:27):
that he's on very rarely. No, I don't want La Night to go
on a Roman reign schedule, butif he's not there every week, builds
anticipation for when he does show, and I think there's a larger reaction when
he takes a week or two off. Do I think they'll do that?
Probably not, but something to thinkabout. All right, Moving on here,
(25:51):
we got Jackie Raymond Redmond interviewing Shanaand Basilor said Zoe Stark surprised her
in the match last week. ChelseaGreen showed up and said she was looking
for a partner because Piper Niven isn'tmedically cleared. Basler said she could meet
Green in the ring and show herlimb by limb exactly how large the gap
is. Between them. Green turnedaround and Piper Niven was standing right there.
(26:15):
Green said she was happy to seeher and knew she was coming back
tonight. Nivin took one of thew W Women's tag team title belts and
said medically cleared before walking away. So, yeah, interesting, we maybe
have the curse broke in here ofthe women's tag belts being you know,
(26:37):
just snake bit. All right, then we got a really cool and I
love this visual. This is thisshould go on you know, some kind
of some kind of museum whoever isgood at painting pictures or memorializing moments.
(26:57):
This was a beautiful visual of Guntherand his and Giovanni eventI and Lovewood Kaiser
who accompanied him and got you know, took him out of the car and
walked with him into the ring andthe the white pillars they had set up
in the ring. And also, man, they look good in suits.
(27:19):
Tell me Gunther in a suit isn'tone of the sharpest looking dudes you've ever
seen. Now, I'm a straightdude, all right, I don't I
don't get any tingling anywhere for aGunther, But the dude's a good looking
dude in a suit. He isas sharp as attack. I mean,
he's just he cleans up so wellin a suit. Now he's not sloppy
(27:44):
without it. But you only seehim in his ring gear. You never
see him in normal clothing, muchless a suit. I'm not saying for
him to go full Cody Roads everyweek, but every once in a while,
if if Gunther wants to wear asuit and his group wants to wear
a suit, I think it's anawesome look. I really enjoy it.
(28:04):
It made him even more of achampion to me. I think it it
elevated him in that moment to makehim feel even more legit. So but
this didn't last long, as youknow, somebody was going to interrupt and
(28:25):
Chad Gabel oh. Well, beforethat, Gunther boasted how he's now the
longest reigning Intercontinental champion in history, and he wanted to give credit to those
who came before him, but thenhe turned and said that they actually contributed
(28:45):
nothing, that he is the onewho elevated the belt to new heights never
seen before, and he's running outof competition and he's only going to compete
against himself. And then enters misterShoosh Chad Gable and he got interrupted or
he interrupted. Gunther Gabel walked outwith the mic and said that they had
(29:08):
a main event for the Ages.He said that the world wouldn't stop talking
about it, and now already asmall complaint here. I don't need to
hear about tearing the house down.We killed it in the main event.
Those phrases imply you're working together, and now we know you are, but
(29:29):
don't tell us. We want themagic to even a fragment of it,
to remain so we can get investedhere. So whenever we hear that of
making history, tearing the house down, stealing the show, having the best
match, no, no, no, no no, those are by products
that the fans will decide, andthe fans pick up on even the announcers
(29:49):
if they say it isn't it's notthe end of the world. But for
the wrestlers themselves to be talking abouthaving great matches, it's it's something you
just don't say. You're saying thequiet part out loud. Leave it alone.
We will tell you when you've hadgreat matches, not you. And
also it's pulling back the curtain everytime you say it. So we're gonna
(30:12):
take a quick Breaktho the sponsor ofthe episode today guys, which, by
the way, if you are apatron right now, you're just going to
be treated to the next part ofthe show without the ad. But for
those of you on the free feed, we're gonna give the sponsor of the
show a little bit of love rightnow, and then we're going to dive
into some of the things that Gablesaid to Gunther that really didn't make a
whole lot of sense and that Gunthercould have easily snapped back at. So
(30:33):
I'll give you my thoughts on thatright after this. Well, the NFL
season is back, and that meansyour fantasy teams are being put to work.
And I can tell you right now, for myself, I am not
happy that I started Daniel Jones inmy league. But I can tell you
what I do like, and thatis the Air It Out Fantasy Football League
podcast. It's part of the AirIt Out podcast network. It's hosted by

of a better word for the week. And these guys are just getting started,

aired Out FFL, which is availableon Apple and Spotify. Check out the
aired Out Fantasy Football League podcast. All right, welcome back, and let's
talk a little bit about what Gablesaid to Gunther and Gable came in the
ring, and he said that noone has come as close to beating him
(32:23):
as Gable did. And he saidhe saw the same look on the faces
of his entire family, including hisoldest daughter Briella, who had tears in
her eyes caused by Gunther. Nowthis is where I think Gunther could have
clapped back easy and buried buried Gableby saying, no, you're the one
(32:47):
that caused your daughter to cry becauseyou weren't mad enough to beat me.
If you were so talented and you'reso superior, why you know you would
have beaten me and prevented your Heprevented your daughter from crying. So your
(33:07):
daughter's tears are your responsibility for notbeing able to beat me, you know.
And he could have easily turned itaround instead of Gable, you know,
said that Gunther caused his daughter's cry. But all did all the Gunther
did was win the match. Hedidn't go after the match and try to
snap his neck or anything like.He didn't do anything extracurrigular. He just
(33:30):
simply beat the hell out of atA Gable and won. But you know,
this did break down, and itbroke down after, you know.
Gable said that Gunther lit a fireunder him, and he's gonna make everything
right and then he will beat Guntherand take the title. Gable said he
(33:52):
didn't know when, where, orhow, but he would get another title
shot, and he swore to Godhe would win the championship for himself,
his career, and his family, and Gabel swore that his daughter would walk
out with a smile on her face. And then Gunther asked of Gabel wanted
another opportunity to have his family travelto the show to see him take the
biggest beating of his life, andif q's Gable of using his kids his
(34:14):
bait, and then that's he calledhim a terrible father. He's disgusting.
It was actually God, I loveGunther. Gable punched him, and then
all Helen's ensued and Otis ran outand Tomaso Champa ended up evening the odds
after even Otis was overwhelmed and hada chair and chased off Imperium. I
(34:37):
don't know what, and even theannouncers didn't know what the vested interests of
Tomaso Champa is with this and whathe you know, it just seems like
another random thing for Tomaslo Champa. To do one of many that he's been
doing since he came to the rosterof heel face in between not sure with
Bronson Red and Shin's Gay, butalso the Miz and like what, I
(34:59):
don't know what we're doing here withTomaso Champa. My assumption though, is
if this is an actual storyline forTomaso or for Champa rather to sink his
teeth into finally and not just thiskind of well, we need to put
you somewhere, so we'll get yourminutes and here you go. If this
is actually something for Champa, Ithink maybe he joins imperium. I think
(35:22):
maybe that's what he does, becausehim as a baby face right now is
well that's currently what he is.God knows what he's going to be next
week. That seems to not bethe best course of action for him.
I think him joining and turning wouldbe the best way. Now, does
Gunther need a third guy, No, but it would give Champ an opportunity
(35:45):
to shine in a spotlight that heneeds, and it would also give a
group of four guys some more youknow smore swagger. Now there is an
overload of heel groups in WW asa whole no doubt about it. There's
a lot of heel groups looting around, not too many baby face groups.
What are the baby face groups lwoyou know, like what that's kind of
(36:09):
it because the heel groups the judgmentday, what's left of the bloodline?
You know. So it's, uh, it's just kind of you know,
we've got got a lot of groups. But it's something. It's just a
theory I have about Champa. Butall right. Then we got the recap
of Woods and MacIntyre earlier in theday, and Woods accused McIntyre of being
(36:35):
upset that Kingston won the World championshiphis World Championship in front of eighty two
thousands screaming bodies, where McIntyre wonhis in an empty performance center, and
McIntyre said he didn't want to hurtWoods, but then promise whatever happens tonight
wouldn't be an accident. I reallylike this by MacIntyre. No, we're
fooling around with Riddle. Riddle hadyou know, Riddle seems to be a
bit of a liability. There wasan incident at the airport that I'm sure
(36:59):
you guys can google. Every timehe turn around, Riddles doing something that
you know whether it's his fault ornot. He's just kind of running into
bad luck or you know, thewhole Candy Cartwright thing, remember the whole
that all deal that has never reallywashed away. And he's probably on a
very tight leash with management, andrightfully so. But MacIntyre could benefit greatly
(37:27):
from no riddle. This is theMcIntyre I like. This is the one.
I like this version of him notplaying big brother to somebody but being
a legit badass and having Woods alsoshow what he can do in the ring.
I can't stand his character. Idespise everything the New Days stand for.
They're one of the most embarrassing worstgroups to ever come into existence from
(37:51):
a character perspective. Now, Iunderstand KOFE won the belt KOFE Mania all
that. I understand that. ButMcIntyre and Woods put on a really good
match here. I enjoyed this.I wish I could have gone longer.
It was just about ten minutes.Even though this is awesome, Chant broke
out and credit to both men,you know, credit to both men in
(38:14):
this matchup because they made this match. They made every second count in this
match. Now we did get aclaymore by MacIntyre that led to the Three
Council. Drew wins Clean. Idon't know what this endgame is here,
but I like this little mini program. It's it's really nice. And I
hope that Xavier and Kofy do lesstalking and trombone flailing that they've done for
(38:37):
nine years and get in the ring. Okay, even as single stars,
they don't need to break up infew They can just quietly break up and
do their own singles. Deal. But you see what Xavier is capable of
in the ring, and you're like, why why aren't we getting this again?
Why why is he just being relegatedto flailing and trombone every week?
(39:00):
So all right, let's see.We then got god Cody Rhodes coming out,
and of course he has to tryto make fetch a thing and say
what do you want to talk about? Like a damn fool, and Cody
said they would talk about ju So, by the way, you even noticed
(39:22):
this week was even more egregious. When he asked what they want to talk
about? The crowd didn't respond,They just go There was some noise,
but again the row doesn't know whatto do because you can't do anything.
It's like me, you know, getting on the mic and saying, so,
(39:42):
Cincinnati, what do you guys wantfor dinner? There's gonna be fifty
different answers. You know, youcan't ask an open ended question. You're
fool. It's not a thing, all right. Anyway, Cody did talk
about Jay, he said before theycould say more, or before he could
(40:06):
say more. Rather, Dom andj D made their entrance, and Dom
spoke over the booking crowd booing crowd, and said they wanted to talk about
how happy he is that Cody broughtJay to Raw and Dom and McDonagh entered
the ring and said that Jay wouldwould join Judgment Day and make Cody look
like a fool, and Dom toldCody there isn't a thing Cody could do
(40:28):
about it, and Dom was toyingwith Cody's necktie, and then Cody laid
him out. McDonagh hit Cody frombehind, and then Cody cleared mcdonah from
the ring and hit Cody the Codycutter on Dom. Mcdonah rushed back to
the ring and took the Crossroads, and when Dom stood up, Cody put
him down with Crossroads and then theyall fled up the ramp so this was
(40:52):
I mean, seeing Cody, youknow, of course, stick to his
own and not need any help.It it's a sign of a strong baby
face. I mean, to takeout one of your top two heels,
one of your top two heels.It's it's a statement by w W E.
And Cody isn't really good in thering. He's very flexible, surprisingly
(41:15):
with that suit. I don't knowif that suit is secretly made of some
kind of nylon or something, Idon't know, but you know, he
moves very fluidly in a suit,so you know, and the crowd was
very much behind him, very much. And hitting the crossroads again. How
many people can hit a crossroads ina suit? Not too many short list,
(41:39):
but yeah, the only thing againthe crossroads. And this isn't me
crapping on the crossroads, although Istill think it's a terrible looking finisher,
terrible looking. Cody's the one thattakes the most of the most of the
brun of the bump there. Butthat's beside the point. J D took
(41:59):
it the best could but Dom immediatelyafter hitting getting crossroads hit on him,
just kind of stubbled out to thering and like held his neck and I'm
thinking to myself, dude, youjust took a finisher. You should be
knocked out, like you should behaving to be dragged back insteady you know,
Uh got out of the ring andthen held his neck like he just
(42:20):
took a clothesline. I mean, you just got your finish hit on you.
So that was just a small misstepI think by Dom not selling it
properly. I mean, you gothit with a finish. So but I
don't know what they're building to here, and it feels like Cody's direction list
right now. He's he's got hishands in everything he doesn't they don't know
what to do with him. He'scutting promos about Jayuso, of which again
(42:43):
he should have no interest in,and suddenly he can make moves to the
on the roster front. You know, he's involved and constantly helping Sammy and
Kevin. But then also he seemsto be solo against Dom and and Finn
and Damian, Like, I don'tknow what this is about Finn or Cody
(43:04):
Rhodes. They just don't have anythingfor him right now. But all right,
moving on, McIntyre told Jayu sohe didn't trust him. Jay said,
cool and They're gonna have a matchnext week which is gonna be fun
Jays and Drew McIntyre. Here's myprediction for that match. Wonky finish,
(43:25):
Schmas finish. Why neither men canafford to lose clean. So there's some
interference, no doubt about it,that's going to happen in this match.
Maybe Judgment Day gets involved or somethinglike that. But there's just no way
this is ending clean because both menare on the on the Ascent right now,
(43:47):
Shanny Basler and Chelsea Green one onone. Basler beats Green in a
minute in fifty seconds, and thenafter the match, Niven and Basler fought
and Zoe Starr came out and drilledNiven with the kick, Basiler hit Green
with a knee strike, and thenBasiler and Stark approach Nibbin, who rolled
out of the ring. Okay,S's gonna Kamara he comes out. While
(44:10):
he doesn't come out, he hasa video package ared where he asked if
people would still sing Seth Rollins songif they remember the things he's done.
In footage ared Rollins hitting Roman Reignsin the back with a chair. By
the way, can anyone here's achallenge for everyone right now, everyone listening
in the sound of my voice. You can email me mailback at wpodcast dot
(44:32):
com because I'm interested in this question. In the last ten years, can
anyone name another piece of footage thatWWE has aired more than Seth Rollins hitting
Roman Reigns in the back of thatsteel chair to end the shield. Is
there another single piece of footage, another single moment. There's been a lot
(44:52):
of them over the last ten years. Is there another that has happened in
the last ten years that you've seenmore. It's not a complaint. This
is not me complaining whining. No, it's just it's I thought about it.
I'm like, how many times haveyou seen that piece of footage?
It's classic, It's it's etched inyou know, history, the annals of
(45:14):
time in WWE, no doubt aboutit. But boy have we seen a
lot of it. And they've gottheir money's worth out of that shot,
no doubt. But then uh Nakamurasaid, the road to success is line
with bodies, the bodies of thosewho trusted him, and Nakamura said Rollins
believes the weak exists to be consumedby the strong, and Rollins he called
(45:37):
Rollins a manipulator, a deceiver, and a liar. He said, Rollins
brings shame upon his family and hehas no remorse, and that he will
strip Rollins of the title and exposethe lies he claims to stand for,
and he will challenge Rollins quote whenhe feels like it really good. I
would thought that they were gonna announcesomething for fast Lane, but you know,
(45:59):
we're still a few weeks out.I understand that they're not about booking
too far out. They wanted tohave all their ducks in a row and
make sure there's no last minute changesand all that. But eventually we're gonna
get that match. It has tobe at fast Lane, does it not.
But the content of this was good, you know, makes sense.
That exposes Rollins for who he was, Maybe not necessarily who he is,
(46:22):
but Rollins said he's a fighter anda world champion, and there was a
time he didn't know who he was, and he said he surrounded himself with
people who lied to him when hewas in the authority. He talked about
trying to be what the fans wantedand finally figured out that it was just
myself. He even talked about themessiah all that I actually liked the Monday
(46:45):
at Messiah. I gotta say,I know a lot of you out there
like this version of Seth and Iunderstand it. The Bundon at Messiah,
I love the entrance music. Iknow it wasn't very sing alonga bowl like
the His is Now, But Ireally enjoyed the Mondanette Messiah that I think
had it not been in the pandemic, you would have seen a much maybe
(47:08):
a more lengthy version. I thinkthere was more juice to squeeze out of
the Mondanett Messiah. I enjoyed it. That was the whole deal that I
think Buddy Murphy right, So anyway, Yeah, the only problem I remember
what that was. He was amessiah with no disciples at times like more
well more often than not, hewas a Messiah with no disciples, no
(47:30):
followers. He can't can't call yourselfa messiah not have anyone following you.
But I digress. So he wasvery meta here, very fourth wall breaking.
He says wrong he can out lookhis daughter in the eyes and be
at peace with his past and beproud of his future, and that he
wanted to fight. He challenged Shinskeagain Shinske comes out, or rather his
(47:54):
music played, but he didn't comeout, and then Knockamer appeared on the
B screening. He was beating upRicochet, and Nakamara said, Rollins has
bad timing and Rollins isn't medically cleared, so he fought already, and Nakamara
then was beating up Ricochet but saidso so sorry, I will take your
(48:15):
title, but not today. Sothe interesting part of this is twofold Number
one, how many times do yousee a title program in which the champion
is trying to force the challenger tohave a title match. Number two is
that Rollins showed absolutely no interest insaving Ricochet, who helped him the previous
(48:36):
week, and then Rollins doesn't wantto return the favor. So that's the
other part of this. Does thisturn to Ricochet getting mad at Rollins and
there's there's some tension there, maybe, but I doubt it. That's what
you get from being mister clean cutmoral compass Ricochet. Okay, we then
got Imperium. I know I'm skippingover some stuff, guys, but Imperium
(49:00):
and Giovanni Vinci versus, that isGiovanni Evnci love with Kaiser and Gunther versus
Champa, Gable and Otis and thisended in thirteen minutes in thirty seconds with
Imperium losing. And the finish ofthis match was that Gable hit Chaos Theory
(49:22):
and Vinci Gunther broke it up.Gable caught Vinci in the ankle lock again
and then he'd Gunther tried to breakit up, but Champa caught him with
in a submission hold and Da VinciGiovanni e Venci, not Da Vinci,
my god tapped out. So Giovannie Venci loses. And this is a
(49:44):
fun it's a fun program here.I actually didn't think they'd go back to
Gable and Gunther for a fourth time. I really didn't. I don't hate
it, but I also you know, I don't hate it from this perspective.
You you know what you're going toget, a quality pure wrestling match,
(50:05):
hard hitting, physical, old school, not one hundred miles an hour,
no no, not not millions offlip flops and flies. I love
that. But also you know, you would imagine Gable's not gonna win here.
But now that Gunther has passed thefinish line of of being the longest
running intercontinental champion of all time. There is a significant chance that anyone faces
(50:29):
him from here on out is goingto beat gunther Now. I again,
I hope not. Unless the planis have him drop the belt and go
after the world title. That's that'scool with me. So if that's the
plan, sure, put the titleon on on Gable and whoever takes this
belt too is going to be thebeneficiary of a lot of equity built up
(50:51):
in that belt. There's there's alot of meaning behind that right now.
It's not just you're, you know, a prop anymore. That that got
relegated to be for years, soGable could really benefit from it. So
there's there's a significant chance he couldwin, all right, Again, a
lot of backstage stuff. Tiffany Strattonclaimed to Adam Pierce, and that's when
(51:14):
Lynch showed up and she or theysigned a contract for the NXT Women's Championship
match. And so that'll be takingactually it already took place. I don't
know the outcome, so we'll getthat from Memphis Mark, who will be
doing our NXT review here on thefeed, so you know. After that,
(51:37):
of course we got the main eventin having Nia Jack's return, but
overall a decent version of Monnette rawone that is going to be remembered for
Nia Jack's returning. And you know, I gave my thoughts like for fifteen
to twenty minutes to open the show. My open up the show about that.
(51:57):

(52:45):
may be an investment in the nextyou know, a couple of days that
I make, as well as purchasinga new iPhone that I don't need because
I'm I can't help myself. I'mone of those idiots for technology. I
just you know, I purchase itfor you know, I don't even know
what reason. You know. Sometimesit's just like I feel like if I
have an outdated model of something,it irritates me, and then I have
(53:08):
