Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Hello, what the time

W podcast. As always, it's an absolute pleasure to have
you listening along. I am Amanda, your host of the
SmackDown Review, and as you know, I am back on
X Please give me a follow. I am at Amanda

(00:52):
SD review. That's what I was listening to some of
Matt's fantastic shows this week and I got his shout out.
Thanks Matt. I've really enjoyed presenting this show over the year,
and it's nice to be appreciated by not only Matt,
but you guys who sent some really great messages this week.

(01:17):
So thank you to everyone who got in touch with
some really positive words on the show. It's much appreciated.
And so we go into year two off the SmackDown Review.
Before we do, though, does anyone know what the crack
is with Naomi? So rumor has it, and I'm sure
you've all heard the rumor that she is pregnant, and

(01:39):
if so, I guess she needs to relinquish the title.
I mean, great for her bringing new life into the
world and all that, but a real massive shame in
terms of her He'll Run, which was only just getting started.
Really anyway, after seth I am not believe in anything
Wousa regards injuries or whatever. So let's see where we

(02:00):
go with that. And what do you guys think of
bailey promo on RAW. I think it was excellent and
that maniacal laugh at the end. What do we think
that means? I would love to see Bailey go absolutely
Looney Junes and go super heey heel. That would be

(02:21):
such fun. She deserves so much more that she has
gone in the last couple of years. I think she's
been just horribly booked and had some real crap to
deal with from Creative. So let's let's just hope that
this is a good character switch for her and would

(02:43):
like to see her get a good run of something
title or just some really good meat storylines on TV. Anyway,
let's get to it and review the SmackDown that aired
on August to fifteenth from Boston, and we get our
arrivals with Drew McIntyre, who is apparently here on the

(03:05):
show to explain himself for last week's attack on Cody.
Joe Test tells us to expect the unexpected here in Boston,
and then we get Solo and his MFTs out. Now
does this stand for my family tree or does it
stand for mother effing Congun's I've heard both. We get

(03:27):
a replay of their shenanigans on Sammy last week, whereas
they make their way glacially slowly to the ring, Solo
has the mic and standing in the ring information. My
first thought is that the MFTs with Solo looked like
an Angry n Sync tribute act. He starts off saying

(03:49):
that the MFTs are in the building. They want to
remind everyone that they run SmackDown. He says, anyone who
doesn't like it, it's too bad. He says, last week,
Samy Zone came out and try to shark Hans backdown,
but then they went to raw and stomped on him.
He says, Jimmy also also got stumped out, and Fatu
also got stomped out, and he says if there's anyone

(04:12):
else who wants to come out, and just as he
says that outcomes Sammy Brand split what Brand's flip? Sammy
tells them to take it down and not She's just
here to talk and says all he's been talking about
for months is the World Championship, and if he had

(04:34):
beaten Ruseph, there was a chance that he could have
got that opportunity at Clash in Paris. He says, now
he's lost that chance and it's definitely not happening. He
says when it happened, when Solo and his gang interfered
with the match, he was furious, but then he also
felt liberated because he's been talking about the World Championship
for so long. That's all he could think about. But

(04:56):
now it's been taken away from him, he can go
back to doing other things, and he thanks so low.
He says he can see now that there are many,
many other things in WWE. He says there is another
title he's never held, and that's the US Championship. Solo
tells him that he's not going to hold it anytime
soon either, and he says, you aren't even on SmackDown

(05:19):
Anyone Raw, so you can't never hold this title. I mean,
at least someone mentioned it right. Solo tells him to
get out of the ring, get off his show, he
never wants to see him again. Sammy says that that's
what he came out to say as of tonight he
is officially on SmackDown. He says that he's taken something
from him, so he's coming to take the title and

(05:42):
he's coming for Solo. Solo goes to attack him and
quick as a flashy MF teaser back in the ring,
beaten down on Sammy and we get big gym out
to the rescue, but he's very quickly laid out too.
We then get Fatoo out to help things evened up
a bit more fairly, leaving Sammy, Jimmy, and Fattou standing

(06:04):
tall in the ring. Just as I thought the segment
was wrapping up, we get Nick out, who tells Solo
off for the way. He welcomes Sammy to SmackDown and
he makes a match tonight Fattoo, Jimmy and Sammy versus
any three of the m F t's. Well, I'm like
that opening segment. First off, Sammy on SmackDown, Yes, please,

(06:28):
very happy about that for a start, Sammy shifting focus
over to the US title. Well, I like it. It's
a little bit like a version of the Bloodline two
point oh, I'm okay with that, as there's a title
involved and the motivation for Sammy taking on Solo is
revenge for being screwed rather than anything more convoluted this

(06:49):
time around. I think Samy's always at his best when
he's in a feud as a massive underdog, and let's
be honest, with the mft's backing up Solo, he's definitely
and the old dog here, So I think this should
be interesting. Are we headed for a title match as
soon as clash in Paris? Or does it stretch longer?
I would love to see something with the US title actually,

(07:13):
and then tonight's main event six man tag And does
that mean that Fatoo is no longer in the US
title picture? And is he being primed for a run
on the world championship. I'm getting ahead of myself obviously
that I thought it was a great opening segment, really
liked it. We go backstage to Byron, who has Chelsea

(07:34):
and her secret hervist. He asks, how do we get
to this match? Which the match is Piper versus Bliss.
Chelsea calls him a dummy and says she bravely broke
up the birthday celebration last week and she could have
been severely injured by the cake. Piper says no one
messes with the Canadian hero, and Alba says that once
Piper takes care of Bliss tonight, they will confiscate the

(07:57):
tag titles. I buy here, and it's not in any
way relevant, but Eila, Dawn, I and Alba were a
tag team, and a pretty good one I thought, anyway,
So I'm interested to know why do you think the
decision was made to let Isla go from the company
and retain Alba. I mean, how did they choose and why?

(08:19):
I honestly have no idea. It just struck me as
Alba is enjoying some good TV time as part of
Chelsea's ganging quite rightly too. I'm not saying that Albert
shouldn't have it. I just found myself muling over how
come and how did decisions like that get made? Split
up a tag team. Clearly the girls were friends, and

(08:40):
I believe they've been together for some time, so I'm
just curious to know how those decisions get reached and
was it the right decision do we think? I don't
know what Eila Dawn's doing now, maybe she is happier.
I don't know anyway, just this anyway, that match is

(09:02):
up now, so this is Bliss versus Piper, and as
they come out, I notice that Charlotte is still getting
a much better reaction from the crowd, and I guess
that's the Bliss effect. This one kicks off with Piper
behind side and Bliss in the corner, and then says
Chelsea and Albert to get rid of the li del
but Charlotte comes to the rescue and backs them off. Meanwhile,

(09:23):
in the ring, we have Bliss on the back of Piper,
but Piper using her strength to power out and retains
the control of the match. Piper absolutely poleax in Bliss
pretty much free the ring. But now we get a
Bliss comeback and she's looking great, delivering a bunch of
cannonballs to Piper and getting a very close pin. This

(09:45):
one finishes, however, as Bliss gets Piper in positioned for
a twisted Bliss. We get some Shenanigans on the apron
from Chelsea and Alba, with Flair being a really good
tag team partner and getting rid of them. Bliss dodgers
Piper in the corner, allowing her to get the roll
up and victory on behalf of the tag champs. Post

(10:07):
Bell Alba comes in and kicks Bliss in the head.
Flair comes in and says Bliss, but it's soon crushed
by Piper and Chelsea chucks her into Timekeepers, leaving Bliss
in the ring and she gets finished off by Chelsea
and the secret Hervis. This felt like a pretty short watch.
I didn't have a clock on it, but I guess
it felt less than five minutes. Still a good match.

(10:29):
I always love to see Bliss in the ring. It
was a good show, and then continues to cement the
Bliss Flair tag team. I guess we continue with this
program and get Flair album next week, and I'll be
building to a tag match between these guys if we are.
That's okay by me. Something different. We haven't seen much

(10:50):
of them all together, but let's see straight backstage and
we have Jade and Tiffy arguing and Nick is also there.
He says he understands that Jade wants another title shot,
and he also understands that Tiffy wants to be a
fighting champion, but there are channels that need to be
completed before they can go ahead. And at that point

(11:12):
and I check shows up, and in my head I
am shouting, God, please, no, I thought we were done
with Nia versus Tiffy. She tells Jade to fall back
and let her handle Tiffy. She says, just because she
was too rubbish to take her shot as Queen of
the Ring and Jack's wasn't That's not her fault. She

(11:34):
calls Tiffy's title run a fake, and Tiffy tells her
and Jade that she will handle both of them, and
still we champ. Now, as you probably know by now,
I'm very much not okay with this, like so much
not okay with it. It's on a par with the

(11:54):
whole Seth title thing, which has recently really just got
me royally off. I do not need to see either
Naya versus Tiffy again or Jade versus Tiffy again. How
many other people are there on the SmackDown rosta who
could get a shot here? Now, I expected to have

(12:16):
a list of names here, and I did my research.
I went to check the SmackDown roster, and actually, apart
from Bianca, there is literally no one who is free
i e. Not Flair or bliss Her in the tag
team situation. Who could have a legit top shot at
the title. What have we sleepwalked into here? The top

(12:40):
card on the woman's side on SmackDown is pants there
and said it, So you're right. The only options we've
gone is Naya Tiffy, Jade Tiffy or Bianca Tiffy, none
of which are in the flos a bit appealing. So

(13:02):
what do they need to do? This is the question.
I've been hearing a lot of talk about Britt Baker
and maybe now is the time that they need to
make some acquisitions or bring somebody up from n Next
or draft from Raw. I don't know, but actually, yeah,

(13:26):
they actually don't have a lot of options. Now back
to the ring, we have Miss and Mellow versus Fhraxium
and unfortunately they now even have a special graphic with
their dark team name on. I mean, just no, thank you.
Joe Test tells us that Mellow don't Miss are on

(13:47):
a mission to take over the Tag division, which is
just awesome without these two. Thanks just it's about to
kick off. We have Joe Gacy and his scary spooky
Wookie mask standing in the crowd, which freaks Miss out.
And on the other stair we have Dexter Loomis in
his mask, and to be fair, they do look pretty
gnarly backlip with some smoke. This match kicks off with

(14:11):
Axiom and I think to myself, I cannot see a
world in which the team of Miss and Mellow have
any kind of shot against Phraxium. But this is WWE,
so you never know. Miss bails out early doors and
needs Mellow to take on Nathan Fraser. And there are
a grand total of about three people in the crowd

(14:31):
cheering for the quote unquote hometown guy Mellow, but Praxium
are millering Mellow and now Miss two. It looks like
Fracxium we've got it sewn up. But from nowhere Miss
saves the match. Praxium definitely had Mellow beat there though
Mellow from nowhere hits his front super pecs on Fraser.

(14:53):
Miss tags in in a typical shady way, hits skull
crushing finale on Fraser and gets the w So what
do I know? Apparently in this universe, Mellow and Miss
pinned one of the hottest prospects in the Tag division.
What the you know what? I hate it? SmackDown Tag

(15:14):
division is already so hot. I have no idea why
they think it needs this team to add in. As
I said last week, uh Mellow and Miss were over,
I thought only for it to be rehashed. It feels
like maybe Trivia h has a little bit run out
of ideas for some of the wrestlers and we had

(15:35):
just done to rinse and repeat. I'll give you my
earlier point on Night Jade, but as always, I would
love to know your guy's thoughts on this stuff. Anyway.
We now get an update on Cody after last week's
attacked by Drew, and the update is that there is
no update, and we get Tiffy backstage, who bumps into Keana,

(15:57):
who is trying to basically pimp out hers and Julius
Services is back up now that could be interested in
a stable with Keiana, Julia and Tiffany. That sounds interesting.
Tiffy brushes are off for now, and then we get
me Chin who tells Kea she has Julia next. Keana
says that's under advisement. Well, I wouldn't hate that if

(16:18):
Tiffy was to join a group again. Obviously we've already
seen her with Nya and Candice, but I think as
a champion with somebody in the manager role, and then
adding and Julia, that could be quite interesting. And as
we've just discussed with the relative slim pickings that are

(16:39):
that that is currently in the SmackDown women's roster, maybe
that is a possible solution. So let's see how or
if that develops. And now we get Drew. He has
the mic in his hand and he tells us that
people have been asking all week he did what he

(17:00):
did last week? He says he wants to see it again,
and it plays out on the big screen in the arena.
He says that he didn't attack Cody Rhodes. He says
everyone's eyes are lying. He asked Shoe what the medical
update is. He says, we always have one. That's weird.
He says management and hiding it because they don't want
anyone to know how hurt he is. Drew says he

(17:21):
doesn't hate Cody. He says he was Cody five years ago,
that bit of a bush. Or don't think Drew's ever
been anywhere near as over as Cody is he wishes,
he says, he realized, but when they retire, it's all
forgotten about in the crowd. Just forget. He says he

(17:43):
wants the title for his family and for the big paycheck.
He says, who is Cody without the title? He's no
one on he knows it. Drew says he didn't attack
Cody last week, Cody attacked him. He takes us through
what the events where as they led up to him.
Claymore in Cody for the announced desk, basically saying that

(18:04):
he acted in self defense. He says he isn't the
bad guy, but if he provokes him, he is the
real nightmare. This wasn't a massively telling promo. They seem
to be using some of the scripts from Seeing as
Heel stuff, as in, you people don't appreciate us, and
once we retire, that's it. It all sounds a bit

(18:25):
familiar to me. Don't you think no medical update on
Cody when I'm sure he's fine and it's probably a
work Drew Cody for the title that seems to be
locked in on. What do we think if it was
me writing the stories and you know, I think you
will probably say thank God, it's not that. I think
it would be quite hilarious if Drewish just screwed and

(18:47):
thoughted throughout the whole rest of his career and he
never gets gold again, going slowly and gradually more and
more insane. Now that's an angle. Do we think WWE
has the balls to do that? Who knows? We then
go to Byron who is backstage he has the Profits

(19:07):
and asks them, if they win tonight, do you think
that place is you back in contention for a title shot?
Before they can answer, Solo and his gang turn up
saying that they don't deserve another title shot and they
will have to go through MFT if they want the shot.
We get one of the wy AT six. I think
quite catchy. It was in the back of shots, which
seems to be really freaking out the massive giant Talatonga.

(19:33):
We've now got the tag match between Di Weugh diw
DIY and the Profits. This kicks off of DIY getting
the early offense in and we have Beefab and Candice
lay ringside, so expecting some top pol shenanigans from them.
Angelo comes in and starts to make moves against both

(19:55):
of DIY. Angelo about to Pollax Tamaso wrong side at
ringside and this again throws herself in the middle of it,
stopping him in his tracks, giving the upper hand back
to DIY, who are typically smug about the whole thing.
We have beef Fab and Candice getting into it outside
the ring, with Beefab getting her face smashed into the steps.

(20:18):
They then hit the fairy Tale ending and Johnny looks
to have it sewn up, but the pin is broken.
Candice then hits a hurricane runa off the top to
the outside on Angelo, taking out Dawkins too, giving Johnny
a chance for a pin, but it's broken up again.
This one ends quick with Angelo hitting a massive splash,

(20:41):
followed up by Dawkins who gets the pin and the win.
I thought this was a great match, once again showcasing
the depth and the difference the diverse nature of all
the teams here on SmackDown. Loving that Candace and Beefaber
getting involved in these matches now, and wouldn't mind also
if those two had a match down the line. As

(21:05):
we move on, we go to Nick who's talking to
Mosy and machine Guns as Mellow approaches and says, what
does he have to do to get a title match.
Misappears and stem is his chances again. Saban tells Mellow
are you him or his? Which I thought was a
great line, and Miss says that Mellow can't be manipulated
as he has his back. Shelley says Miss and Mellow

(21:29):
wrestle like they just met in Catherine, which again I love,
and they start to argue, and then next week we
get match No One wanted motacyting machine guns versus Mellow
and Miss. So I think it's happening, guys. We're gonna
get Mellow and Miss just shoehorned into the to the

(21:51):
tag division or are they going to fall apart again.
I don't know about you, guys. I'm just completely not
here for Mellow and Miss. I would like to see
Miss used much more sparingly. He's got a career outside WWE.
Now he can go part time, and I'd like to

(22:12):
see Mellow just getting his own shots. Maybe he does
go into the US title picture. Let's hope that they
split these two up once and for all. I thought
we'd already done that, but you know, let's go around
and round about again. We get a recap of last
week's Sina and Paul segment and it's confirmed. I don't

(22:34):
remember if it was last week or not. Seen a
versus Paul at Clash in Paris and absolutely loving the
graphics for Clash, really really smart looking. We now get Byron,
who has Truth backstage, who buy the looks of things,
has reverted right back to old school our truth and
dropped all the hair cutting wrong Killings bit, it seems.

(22:56):
Byron asks how he feels about seeing A's new attitude,
and True says he's happy to have the child had
hero back alistair. Black appears and tells him with friends
like Truth and these enemies. Truth steps to him and
Black says there he is, hello, mister Killings. So this
is interesting. Looks like we have a bit of a

(23:16):
split personality thing going on with Truth, and that's okay,
I don't mind. At least it's different. Those two seem
to be shaping up to a meet next week. If
it's Truth that shows up, he may well get his
head kicked off, but if it's Killings he has a chance.
So maybe they are doing something pretty interesting with Truth here.

(23:38):
Let's see it remains to be seen. Now, lining up
to the main event, we have Jimmy and Sammy reminiscing
in the locker room about the old times, and Fatty's
basically not entertaining it, not for all Sammy's charms at all,
it seems, as he tells Sammy that he didn't come
out to save him. He came out to save Jimmy
doesn't know Sammy, he's not really that interested. Sammy checks

(24:03):
that they're going to be okay tonight and Fatoo tells
Jimmy just keep him out of my way. That's so
in a little seed of doubt, how are these guys
going to coexist and how is this going to work out?
That matches now, and that's our main event this evening.
We've got solo, JC and Talatonga versus Sammy, Jimmy and
Fattou and that leads the humongous monster Talatonga at ringside

(24:31):
the m f t's here. I've got the early upper
hand with some shenanigans right off the bat behind the
rest back and Talatonga getting involved on the outside. As expected.
It goes back and forth for a bit and finally
we get Fatoo in the crowd lose their s. He's
getting his way on the m f T s, but

(24:53):
Tonga manages to get his knees up on a fattoo
Swanton Swanton and Solo, who follows up with a splash
force in a kickout from Fatou. It all breaks down
all of a sudden and everyone is in basically having
a go. Sammy with an exploder on Solo and follows
up with a Hallulah kick, getting the pin on Solo

(25:17):
for a win. So Sammy's tenure on SmackDown starts off
with an old rivalry with Solo and an interesting six
man tag obviously ending with Sammy getting the pin on Solo,

(25:40):
and surely that sets up for Sammy's US title shot,
which hopefully is shortly coming around the mountain, maybe even
at Clash. All in all, this was a good match.
At the end, Fatou and Sammy hug it out, and
what an addition to the SmackDown Sammy is. I do

(26:01):
wonder if anybody is going the other way. As I said,
I do think we need to do a bit of
bolstering to the women's division. I don't know whether that
involves again bringing somebody over from Raw NXT or what
the hell, but something needs to be done because there

(26:23):
actually really isn't anybody new for Tiffy to face and
that is that is a worry. So let me know
what you guys think on X Anyway, I thought tonight
was a decent show, not great. I think this is
the second one in a row that's been not that super.

(26:46):
As I said, I've got my thoughts about some slightly
recycled storylines, but let's give it the opportunity to play out.
It seems like we've got so many PL's these days
that the stories are turning over a lot quicker. As
I think Matt said in one of his shows this week,
doesn't look like we have a pl at the moment
in September, although I do think that there's a Saturday

(27:09):
Night main event at some point in September, which is
like a ple light, isn't it. So I guess we
kind of do have one. And then are we after Clash?
Are we barreling down to Survivor series? And I guess
at that point we're thinking what factions are going up against?

(27:31):
What factions because actually, for the first time in quite
a long time, we've got some pretty strong and well
established factions all over the place here, both in the
men's in the men's side, all over what do we
do with the women's side. I don't know. I will
check my calendar to make sure that I am right,

(27:52):
but I think after Clash, maybe Survivor series is next. Anyway, listen, guys,
I really want to know what you guys thought of
this week's show, What you guys think of some of
these storylines, and if what you would do to mix
things up a bit. Would you have resurrected Mellow and
Miss or would you have left that well alone? Now

(28:13):
we've got the MFT tag team as well trying to
get into the action, and what do you guys think
of the women's division? So reach out on x let's
talk wrestling. So that's pretty much it for this week's
show for those of you who follow football, soccer or

(28:37):
wherever you are in the world. Obviously, the Premier League
has kicked off already with Liverpool last night beating Bournemouth
and we head into a full days schedule today and tomorrow.
So it's a great time as we come into autumn
approaching to Christmas. It's sport time. That does it for

(28:59):
this week's show. As always, thank you for having me
in your ears, and until next time, remember be kind.
