(00:02):
This is WWE superstar Drew McIntyre andyou're listening to the WWE Podcast, the
show, the one that everybody wantsmet for sixteenth So God, just what
(00:26):
your ass is mind, we canacknowledge me heany, guys, welcome to
the WWE Podcast. It is Sunday, June ninth, twenty twenty four.
This is the Week in Review, our flagship show for the week, and
thank you so much. I'd liketo welcome some brand new members over there
on the Patreon side of things.Kathy, you've joined us over the last
(00:49):
day or so we've had let's see. Oh, Noray the second has also
joined us, and let's see.I think that's that's it. So a
couple of people joined us over thelast couple of days. I thank you
so much, and you can geteverything add free over there at patreon dot
com slash WWE podcast and join themall right, guys, Clash at the
(01:17):
Castle is already six days away.It is here. It is already time
for a previeum Predictions show week.So we've got a wall to wall wrestling
content coming your way this week withprevious predictions. Obviously, we have the
mail bag, which, by theway, has kind of been moved to
Fridays. I think for all intentsand purposes, the Mailbag has moved to
(01:38):
Fridays. You know, you canstill send in your questions, but you
know, I think we've kind oflanded on a Friday for the mail Bag,
just the way that things have fallenwith my schedule and the current state
right now has been on a bitof a hiatus, and its place will
play some old wrestling nostalgia shows foryou. So for Mondays, we're going
(01:59):
to be doing a nostalgia throwback. It's kind of a I guess said repetitive
term, but we're going to takenostalgia shows that I've done and just replay
them from years ago and many ofyou haven't heard them, so I think
that'll be a fun replacement for thetime being. Temporarily, Anthony will still
be bringing you the after Dark show. That's going to be moving probably to
(02:19):
the middle of the week or so, so we're shuffling things around. You're
still going to get the same content, but just in a different order.
But nothing is changing with Weekend Reviewobviously, the Sunday's Monday is a nostalgia
Now Tuesday is your raw review Wednesday, maybe a bit of a lull week
if you don't have the Patreon sideof things, because then you won't get
the after dark show that's exclusive topatrons. So all right, well,
(02:42):
let's get to let's talk about it. Let's get to this week INWWWE as
we get a massive match for theWWE Championship, AJ Styles versus Cody Rhoads
for the WWE Championship. I quitmatch coming to you at Clash at the
Castle. And for all of mycriticism of Cody Rhods and his babyface character
(03:06):
that you guys have heard at nauseum, I really don't have much bad to
say about this. AJ Styles iscoming across perfectly as a heel. He's
got his backup in Carl Anderson andLuke Gallows, the Good Brothers. He
has layers of security protecting him.Cody was waiting for him outside of the
(03:27):
building and then inside the building andthen searching for aj. AJ says he's
not going to get what you knowhe wants until how I get what I
want and that's a shot at thew WE Championship. And that's exactly what
Cody said he's gonna do. Andthen he said that you know we're gonna
make you say I quit, soyou can pretty much lock it up.
Though that there is a zero percentchance of Cody Roads saying I quit.
(03:53):
It would completely be in contrast witheverything he's ever talked about ever with his
character. It would make no sense. So you can lock it up and
throw away the key one weird wayor another. AJ Styles is not winning
this match, and none Cody Rhodesis not losing it. Now I shouldn't
say losing it or well, no, I can say that because it's no
(04:14):
DQ. I was thinking they'd havea screw finished where Cody could still lose
and keep the belt and that kindof thing. But it's no DQ.
So AJ should say I quit andthen we'll move on from AJ Styles and
Cody Rhodes. You know, Ishouldn't gloss over how good this match is
probably going to be. We sawhow good their last one was. AJ
Styles looks like he's in in phenomenalshape pun intended, I guess, in
(04:41):
maybe the best shape of his career. Randy Orton, of course, is
floating out there. Randy Orton isMIA for the time being, so we'll
see. We'll see when he returns. But I think that it's definitely a
Cody victory. Here early spoiler that'sreally spoiling no one's predictions, because if
you really think AJ Styles is thismatch just you haven't probably haven't been watching
(05:03):
wrestling for very long, but youexpect a very good match. You expect
a moment or two where AJ mayhave the opportunity to win. He might
put some down in even the mosthardcore fans minds. And if they do,
that great crowd should be super intothis. They don't have a vested
interest when it comes to hometown herolike they do with a Piper Niven or
(05:25):
a Drew McIntyre, but they dohave two guys that are respected worldwide and
I think that they're going to bea hell of a program and you know,
should be the finale. But alsoI want to give credit where credits
due. I mean, Cody Rhodes'scharacter this week did not come out and
make me want to throw my phoneout the window. Okay, he showed
(05:46):
some fire, he didn't just comeout of his tour bus with his dog
and his suit and smile at everyoneand fist bump everyone and make sure he
says hi to the cameraman and sayshi to the janitor and says hi to
the makeup crew, and so highto the producers, and says hi to
the ring announcers and says hi tothe ring the uh, the ring production
crew and the and the like, yeah, thank god, Okay, like
(06:10):
that was the right call. CodyRhoads came out in normal clothes and just
wanted to kick ass. And Iappreciate that. Yeah, that that is
a That's a Cody Rhoads. Thatdoesn't make me want to gouge my eyes
out. That's a Cody Roads. That makes sense in my mind. That's
the Cody Roads that needs to showa little bit more of that, more
(06:30):
of that edge to him than such. You know, this soft feminine champion
we've seen for so long, andyou know, it's been sixty days since
Cody Rhodes has won that championship, and I think it's been a fine run.
It's been okay since he won thebelt from Roman. Nothing overwhelming,
you know, and it's Postmanias,so you can't have too high of expectations,
(06:53):
especially that close to WrestleMania concluding. But it's been a I think it
kind of okay run. And nowwe're starting to see Cody fire up.
And now we're starting to see alsothe product fire up a little bit with
some massive impending returns that will shakethings, as they say, to their
(07:13):
very foundation. And one of thoseas I transition is to Roman Reigns,
one of the most anticipated returns inWWE's recent memory. He's only been going
for two months, it feels liketwo years with what Solo's done. Tomatanga
(07:33):
Tonga Loa maybe Jacob Fatu on hisway or maybe the Rock on his way
to join Solo. And maybe ifyou'd noticed when Solo said he was taking
orders from the tribal chief, orit was Toma Tonga saying that, I
think maybe he wasn't talking about Solo'scode. He could have been talking about
(07:56):
the Rock, or maybe he wastalking about Solo and didn't mentioned him by
name, but just by his titleof the assumed tribal chief. I mean,
there's a lot of hierarchical things goingon here storyline wise, and who's
really at the top, who's reallycalling the shots here. Paul Hayman has
(08:16):
been the key to all of this. Why Because Paul Hayman hasn't spoken much
apparently with Roman Reigns, you haveSolo who has assumed control. Paul Hayman
has the you know, does haveexcuse me, the best interest of the
bloodline at heart, but is stillsolely focused on the Roman Reigns character,
(08:43):
and his character is synonymous now withthe tribal Chief and the wise man to
the tribal Chief, which is RomanReigns. So Paul Haman is clearly struggling
here, struggling emotionally to still remainloyal to the bloodline, but also know
that what's going on is probably notthings that Roman would actually want to have
(09:05):
happen, knowing he's probably being liedto by Solo Soka. So Paul Hayman
is in a very stressful place rightnow, being threatened by the blood Line
but wanting Roman Reigns to come back. We all do, as crazy as
that sounds, right, Roman Reinsis a babyface instantly here, mega babyface
instantly. So we have a reallyhell of a storyline building here, one
(09:30):
that I think is going to haveimplications over the next twelve months. This
is not something that's going to bepaid off at SummerSlam, or even paid
off all the way to WrestleMania.I think it could go beyond that as
we see different iterations of this, and I mean, for all intents and
purposes, it will probably be overat WrestleMania, but it could lead,
(09:52):
it could go beyond. Every timewe think the Bloodline storyline is concluded,
they throw another version at us.So I think that this could go on
another six to twelve months minimum. When it comes to the blood Line and
different variations of it. This isnot the Nexus versus the Core. For
those of you that even know whatthe hell I'm talking about, think back
(10:16):
to it. Was it twenty tenwhen the NEXTUS debuted and Wade Barrett was
there and he's Slater and I rememberall that, and John Cena took him
out. But then I think therewas a breakoff crew of the Core that
lasted about ten seconds. Anyway, this is not that. For those of
you old enough to remember that. This is a true, I think storyline
(10:39):
in its respect to what the Bloodlineis and means and what's happening behind the
scenes. And there's some big namesobviously that are going to come back with
the Rock also floating out there withRoman reigns. When do they come back?
How do they come back. Thatremains to be seen, but you
know we're getting closer. You know, it's not going to be too much
(11:00):
longer. You know, Roman reigns, it's probably on his way back before
the Rock And there's Survivor series Wargamesimplications for this with Roman reigns is og
bloodline versus the Rocks New Savage bloodline. You know, eventually it's going to
be the Rock versus Cody that wasteased before the Rock went away after WrestleMania,
(11:24):
and then of course you have Rockversus Roman that, for the love
of God has to happen. Sothere are so many things that have not
happened yet along and also the returnof Jimmy and jay usso they've been mi
i A. So guys, thingsare gonna heat up. Things are gonna
get real fun when when Roman returns. And here's a quick idea of what
(11:46):
I think is going to happen, that Solo is going to pretend to embrace
Roman when upon his return, maybeit'll be announced, maybe it won't,
And then Solo and Tomatonga and Tongaloaare all going to viciously beat down Roman
reigns, and maybe that's when Jimmyand Jay show up, or maybe it
(12:09):
takes a week or two before Jimmyand Jay show up, and maybe they
somehow, and I would I wouldthink they do it slowly. And the
reason I would want them to doit slowly is it makes sense where Roman
gets beat down, then Jimmy, who has been for the most part on
the side of Roman, even whenhe shouldn't have been at times storyline wise
it made no sense, Jimmy willbe and then Jimmy and Jimmy and Roman
(12:33):
get beat down, and then herecomes Jay the next week or the week
after to help his brother who getsbeat down viciously. And then there's your
three on three tag team match thatcould take place at Summer Slam, or
could just be Solo versus Roman atSummerSlam. So there's some fun iterations coming
in. A reuniting of the bloodlineis something I talked about last year.
(12:56):
I'm not trying to toot my ownhorn. I'm really not. It's just
it makes sense you would have atsome point a babyface version of the bloodline,
and we've got it without them evensaying a word. It's amazing,
isn't it. They haven't said aword. Roman has said nothing, Jimmy
has said nothing. Jay has saidnothing. And when I said the Jimmy
(13:18):
and j had disappeared, obviously Jayhasn't disappeared. But the tag team of
Jimmy and j has been gone fora while. But Jimmy's been m I
a and misspoke there. But Uh, it's gonna be fun. And how
does Jay respond? And how doesJay make his way over to SmackDown?
By the way, how does thathappen? Do we just violate brand rules
(13:41):
and not care? Is there atrade announced? Does he get a special
passed from uh from the SmackDown GM, Nick Aldus or from Adam Pierce or
from the board of Directors? Imean, how does this happen where Jay
is able to kind of cross overand help his help his comrades when the
time comes. So I know I'mprojecting out quite a bit, but this
(14:07):
is what's on the table for us. Even though it's the bloodline, it
feels brands spank and new, andI think it's gonna be a blast.
As we get into the summer Slamseason and beyond one Summer Slam hits Man,
we are off to the races. We are off to the races,
so I can't wait. All right, Bailey this week also got a little
(14:30):
bit of a promo time, andI was excited to see her come out
and see some recaps of what's beengoing on in her career and her run,
and I'm thinking, all right, they're gonna give her some time.
Bailey comes out, says about fivewords, and I'm like, are you
how is she getting cut off rightnow? She hasn't had a good promo.
They haven't given her at least timeto cut a good promo, and
(14:52):
how many damn weeks? And theycut her off? I was like,
are you kidding me? But butyou did have Piper Niven, who I
think had a career promo. Nowthat doesn't mean it's automatically the best of
all time, No, it's justfor her standards, one of the best
promos, calling out Bailey saying youdon't know me. You know that I'll
(15:16):
be in front of my hometown andI'm gonna take everything from you and and
all. I mean, she justhad some really good lines. Piper Niven,
who who used to be known forthose of you that remember, known
as do drop under the Vince McMahonregime. Boy, has she come quite
a long way, has she not? I mean, my god, it
(15:37):
has been quite a while since we'veseen Piper Niven in this capacity, so
that was really nice to see. When it comes to when it comes to
Bailey and having a real opponent here, and you saw some concern on the
face of Bailey. You know,I think that they they did a nice
job here and and really put somefear in to Bailey. So we did
(16:03):
get a confirmation though it's Piper Nibvenversus Bailey for the Women's Championship at Clash
at the Castle, which would befun. So credit to Piper Niven though,
who did she cut a very nicepromo. Bailey did what she needed
to do, although I still needto hear and want to hear more from
from her. It's been too longsince we've kind of got an update from
(16:26):
Bailey. She's been generally quiet onthe mic. They need to give her
just five minutes to talk, justfive So now Chelsea Green, who continues
to play her role very well,is always enjoyable. You know, while
I don't agree with a lot ofwhat she says outside of wrestling on her
(16:48):
you know, her her social mediaaccounts almost nothing. She did decide to
make her now here here we go. I'm get a piss off some of
you guys, but it's true. She decided to wear, you know,
a scantily clad outfit out to thering to make sure that she accents her
legs and her other body parts. And you know what, Look, she's
(17:11):
worked hard for her body. Congrats. But this is what I'm talking about.
Like, no, she could wearshe wants. Yeah, sure she
can. Absolutely, you can wearwhat you want, but there are consequences,
and well, I don't know ifconsequence is the right word. There
are certain reactions that are going tobe elicited from whatever you desire to wear.
All right, And I think ChelseaGreen, while she is an attractive
(17:33):
woman, sure great, but youare objectifying yourself and you are whether you
think you are or not. Doyou pretend you are? You not?
Do you think you're some kind ofgirl boss? You can do all of
that. You can't supersede hard wiringin men's heads for a straight man,
you can't do it. You're objectifyingyourself, and there's just no two ways
about it. I don't you dowhat you want? Right, do whatever
(17:56):
you want. But you guys know, you know I'm I'm right, you
know I am correct. For straightmen out there when you see this,
you're just like, you're distracted byit, and you're not even paying attention
to like what she's saying. You'rejust distracted by her outfit because science biology.
So sure, be a girl bosswhere what you want, But then
(18:18):
don't complain when men are you know, are not giving you the desired attention
that you so so desperately want.So and whatever. So I just angered
some of you. But it's justtruth and truth these days, I guess
is demonized or so oh it's justwhat you think. No, it's not
okay. So talk to any straightman who's looking at that. They're lying
(18:42):
to you if they say, Iwon't even pay attention nonsense, Yes,
b yes, so again. Ido enjoy the Chelsea Green character. I
have been a fan of hers.I don't agree with nearly anything any of
her positions outside of wrestling, butI think she's avaluable character. She is
entertaining, She's made me laugh manymany times. Her Royal Rumble stint was
(19:04):
a lot of fun. So I'mvery complimentary of her work in ring.
You know, so I can havetwo things be true once so, but
a lot of what you So forthose of you that don't like me or
don't like what I just said, you heard me say women should wear conservative
clothing so men don't look at themas sex objects. It's exactly what some
(19:26):
of you heard, right. Buthey, I'm kind of going in this
policy lately of like IDGAF for thoseof you that to follow that acronym,
I just whatever, I just kindof speak my mind. If I lose
listeners, I lose listeners. Ithis is the way I feel like I
am a proponent of women's wrestling.I want to move forward. I have
(19:51):
said this, and I know Iuse Riya Ripley's outfit and her comments in
the past, and I stand bythem three thousand percent. I'm not backtracking
in the least. But then youhave, you know, more and more
examples pop up, and social mediadoesn't help with you know, the the
wrestlers posting things that are simply nothingother than, hey, look at my
body and how good it is,how good it looks. It's all it
(20:15):
is, which that the men doit too, but it's a man's sport,
right, So like the men arewatching this and saying, yeah,
aren't looking at this, and it'sit's not apples to apples or men are
oh, men are in tights? How come women can't be? Okay,
well you're you're in a male dominatedviewership, like you're the key demo is
still eighteen to eighteen to forty malespredominantly it's straight men. Uh, and
(20:37):
they're not interested in seeing or whenthey do see men in tights. First
of all, that has been howmen have competed in sports forever. Okay,
like that, that is, that'show a lot of athletes dress.
And also when you see women inthat for a male dominated viewer, it's
(20:59):
not the same thing. You don'tthink about it the same way. So
it's not apples to apples. Butall right, well I'm gonna go on
a tirade or lose listeners either way. Hey, that's how I feel.
But let's move on. We havelet's see oh Carmelo Hayes versus l A.
Knight and that match. You know, they kept teasing each other back
(21:22):
and forth backstage, and La Knight'sbeen on a tear to find Logan Paul
and he hasn't been able to andLogan Paul did respond kind of funny.
We'll get to that in a minutetoo. But Carmelo Hayes has you know,
watched his promo list week last week. La Knight watched his promo a
little bit this week too, sothey've been trading botches, not on purpose.
But this ended with ll A Knightbeating Carmelo Hayes in just about nine
(21:45):
minutes after he rolled him up,and it was after a reversal of a
roll up, so I did usethe tights, but also Carmelo did try
to use his tights, so hejust did tit for tat and Carmelo ends
up losing the match. La Knightstill continues to get big pops man.
Ella Knight continues to get that megastartreatment, and you do wonder if maybe
(22:11):
his opportunity has come and gone andjust when you look forward, it's just
his opportunities don't seem to be fittingin with the current story. Right.
You have Cody Rhodes, a babyfacechampion, you have the bloodline who's impending.
You know, targeting of Cody isprobably imminent. And when you have
(22:32):
a babyface, who you want ischampion, typically the standing current champion is
not a babyface. They're a heel. So the babyface can chase the heel.
So it's not looking good for LaKnight to ascend to that level,
which is why he's facing the UnitedStates Championship or going to be eventually facing
Logan Paul for the United States Championshipthat's coming now onto Logan Paul's response to
(22:56):
La Knight. You know, Ido like Logan Paul, and I think
he's he is somebody who should nothave any business catching on this quick and
being this good this fast. Hejust doesn't have that much. He should
not be this good, So creditto him, But it's common about Elen
Night going back to the mid card. Bruh. The US title is the
(23:18):
mid card by definition, So yeah, I mean this is a little bit
of a lack of self awareness there. I just again didn't It didn't make
me angry or anything. It's justa little bit of do you realize what
you just said? Do you realize? Like the US title is mid upper
(23:41):
mid probably upper mid card, view'dask, right, So sure, sure,
sure Ellen Night goes back to themid card. But Logan Paul is
a delight to watch. He isin the ring on the mic, he
continues to improve. Logan Paul isis as good as advertised and often better.
(24:03):
And I love how he's not thereevery week. I did not say
that about Roman. Roman was adifferent animal. It was also the top
championship. I think this is goingto be a fun program that you know
what, La Knight could win.La Knight could become your new United States
Champion, because, as I said, the WWE Championship landscape is not ripe
(24:29):
for the picking for La Knight, the positioning of his character, the position
of the championship, the position ofthe future opponents for Cody just don't line
up. And those names aren't LaKnight. Now. La Knight may be
in some kind of tournament, orhe might be thrown into a fatal four
way or whatever here and there ifhe doesn't win the US title, but
let's be honest, he's not probablypositioned to win right now. And maybe
(24:53):
we're looking to twenty twenty five forany kind of serious contention. So La
Night fans hang on, It'll eventuallyhappen. But you can quote unquote settle
for the United States Championship. There'sreally no shame in that game. But
okay, what else did we get? We got, We did get the
(25:15):
main event. We'll get to thatin a minute. Johnny Gargana versus Grayson
Waller and this ended with Grayson Wallerbeating Johnny Gargano in eight minutes in twelve
seconds after hitting a flipping un prettierin the ring and got the victory.
Now, there was a moment inthat match that looked like a reverse pile
(25:38):
driver slash Tombstone or Canadian Destroyer, and they were making a big big deal
about it. I mean, itwas, it is, and it is
a dangerous move. I know whythey banned the pile driver. It's an
unnecessary risk that doesn't lend itself tohave a to really be a risk worth
taking given the payoff, which wouldjust be the crowd going whoa. Meanwhile,
(26:03):
you're within him an inch of becominga paraplegic. So I get it.
But I also do, and youguys, I would think agree.
I miss the pile driver. I'mnot talking about the tombstone. I'm talking
about a good old fashioned pile driver. I miss it. Like Shawn Michaels
could could execute it to perfection andhe is so good at it. But
(26:26):
every now and then I would loveto see a pile driver, just like
a chair shot. If there's asafe, safe, safe, safe,
see my word I'm emphasizing and repeatingway to do it, I would advocate
for it both chair shot and chairshot to the skull, yes, not
to the back, not to themid section, to your head, if
(26:48):
there was a safe way. Ifthere was, I would advocate the hell
out of it. Same with apile driver. I do miss pile drivers
every now and then because when yousee somebody trying to perform a move on
their hone it outside the ring andit looks like they're lifting them up.
For a pile driver, you knowthere's a zero percent chance they're going to
execute it because they don't allow thatmove. But this move got that was
done here to Grayson Waller from JohnnyGargana was very impressive and it also did
(27:17):
make you kind of flinch a bit, like, wait a minute, what
do we just see? Even theannouncement Corey Graves is like, whoa,
you know it's it's sometime it isa little scary because you literally are within
you know this much, I'm makingan inch with my fingers this much,
I'm becoming Paralyzer dead, so Itotally understand why it's a band. So
(27:40):
all right, after the match, though, Waller celebrated while Theory recovered and
looked angry at the outside after Wallerbetrayed him in the back, Nick All
just approached Cody with security and blahblah blah. But all right, well,
so yeah, you know, Theoryand Uh and Waller continue to have
issues. That does look like it'sprogram that is about to run its course,
(28:03):
even though they just got started.I actually don't want a town down
Under to split up really in thenext few months. I mean, I
would keep it going. There's noneed to move them at all. But
of course you have to have opponentsfor them. All right, what else
did we get? Jade Cargill andBianca bell Air versus Indy Hartwell and Candice
(28:23):
LeRae. You know, you're kindof your typical Jade match up to this
point. Well, at first Iwas a bit concerned that she would have
a bit of a Goldberg depth ofmaneuvers. I have been proven wrong,
and I think that she has improvedevery week since she has come on and
(28:48):
shown that she can do more andis more confident, is more fluid,
in the ring. Again, mostof the time I see her, that's
the case. And yes, shedoesn't have the long form match yet,
and she's just been hot tagged in. And this, this duo with Bianca
is eventually destined to collapse where Biancaor Jade turnheel and we're gonna get a
(29:08):
one on one. Absolutely, yes, But when you look at this right
now, Jade needs Bianca, youknow, and Bianca I don't think she's
being hurt by being with Jade atall. I know people say, oh,
it's beneath her, Well not really. She's number one. She's a
(29:32):
champion. Yes, she's a women'stag team champion. So for those of
you that don't count that as areal championship, I guess that that doesn't
matter. But she still is asa by definition, a women's champion.
She is tagging with one of thebiggest acquisitions of WWE over the last twelve
to eighteen months. You know, eventually this tag team is going to break
(29:55):
down and one of them is turningheel to headline a pl against one another.
You know that's gonna happen. She'salso helping to build a new star.
What's the shame in that one.I think that her helping build a
new Star is admirable and is somethingthat you that that's an acquired skill that
you know, as you progress inyour career, you don't really think about
(30:18):
because you're always thinking about yourself. But I think her and and Jade could
really have something here. And Iwouldn't anticipate, honestly, Jade or Jade
and Bianca losing those tag team championships. I mean maybe Survivor Series leading into
the Rumble, which leads to Mania. So I honestly I could see them
holding it for another What is whatsurvivorsoreries November? What the hell is today
(30:42):
June? So another five months?I could. You know what they're also
doing. They are adding prestige, adding value to a otherwise worthless championship that
so many have made fun of anddon't believe is a real championship because WWE
has not really made you feel thatway. So you know, there's really
(31:07):
nothing negative coming from this pairing. It's helping everyone, including the championships themselves.
You know, it's gonna come toa point where there's gonna be like
who can beat them? You knowthey're gonna run through opponents pretty damn quick.
So anyway, in this match herewith Jade and Bianca versus Indy and
Candace, obviously, Jade and Biancabeat Indy and Candace after Jade and Bianca
(31:34):
hit their finish with a combo DDTand a wheelbarrow suplex, which is a
fine it's a fine finish. It'sit's unique, absolutely, I have no
I have no qualms about it.I think they work very well together and
they're starting to really gel and youknow, I think in Indie Hartwell and
(31:56):
Candas already played their part well too. All right, but there were shenanigans
after the match because the women atringside all entered the ring, which were
Zoe Stark, Shannon Basler, Eila, Dawn Alba Fire. They all entered
the ring and they cleared Jade andBianca out, but then they started brawling
with one another, and then Jadeand Bianca recovered and put down Dawn and
(32:20):
Fire with a combo of the kodand Jaded. So despite the victory then
being beat down, they ended upstill standing tall at the end of the
day with their championships and feeling goodabout life. So again I've got high
hopes for this team, all right, So we then get to let's see
(32:44):
them Kevin Owens coming out and tryingto attack that happened earlier, can Or
Kevin Owens tried to attack the bloodline. Obviously that didn't work, and then
the street profits come down and theytried to help, and that's how we
got to the sixth man tag teammatch at the end of the night,
which let's see here as they continuedown. We we went what was it
(33:09):
ten minutes something like that. Iremember looking at the look looking at the
SmackDown ticker on my show, andit looked like it was about ten minutes
and it was an an entertaining match. I mean, how can it not
be? These these four men reallykilled themselves, including you know, Angela
Dawkins and and Angela Dawkins and MantesFort couldn't think of his name. I
(33:32):
think they did a nice job too, even though they haven't gotten any mic
time either. They're just kind ofthese these robots that just come out at
times and do random stuff. Itfeels like they don't have a direction.
They're just kind of floating around, but they still get a good pop and
their entrance music is fun and they'rean entertaining team. I don't know why
that they put them in the placespositions they do, but you look at
(33:53):
them and go, yeah, there'sno chance they're gonna win here against the
blood line. You have to haveSolo's bloodlines and looking as strong and as
dominant as possible. If you're goingto bring back a star of the caliber
of Roman Reigns, who is goingto yes oppose this new blood line we
all know is coming and that's fine. Here's a perfect example, by the
(34:14):
way, and I've given a coupleof these over the last week or two.
Those of you that complain wrestling sucksbecause it's too predictable, all right,
then I would assume that you knowthat this is being set up,
this bloodline story, for Roman toreturn and have his og bloodline face the
new bloodline. Right, I'm sureyou figured that out pretty easy to see.
(34:37):
Are you not excited about it?Though? Of course you are,
of course you are. Why doyou think people are chanting we want Roman
because they can see this matchup, they can taste it, they can feel
it. They there within an armsreach, right, they know what's coming
and they want to see it.So there is your smoking gun proof that
(35:02):
by definition, predictability doesn't just inand of itself kill the interest in pro
wrestling. In fact, I wouldargue some of the best moments of the
ones you see coming that you anticipate, that you want to see what's gonna
happen, You know it's here, you know it's going about to happen.
For example, I'm thinking of thisoff another one off the top of my
(35:22):
head that everyone knew was coming,Undertaker returns at WrestleMania twenty. He was
originally the American Badass. You knewhe was going to come back as the
dead man. You want to seethat looked like, and we all knew
that was going to happen, andwe got it right, We got it
and it was awesome. I wasthere. But so I guess there's probably
(35:43):
countless other examples. I'm just tootired even to think of more, but
countless examples of predictable things that wesaw coming that were still awesome. So
again, I'm not advocating for predictabilityall the time. That's not my point.
My point is that predictability by itselfdefinition is not the killer for wrestling
that a lot of people make itout to be or complain about. But
(36:07):
anyway, let's see ko You know, Chao also didn't get ahold of Mike
time this week either. We justwe kind of know his position though.
He's just a take down the bloodline, take a pound of flesh, never
stop fighting, YadA YadA, andthat's fine. Kevin Owens is still also
a fun character. He hit thestunter on Solo Sokoi, which was a
bit surprising, but he ends upgetting his ass kicked. That we want
(36:31):
Roman, chance, we weren't Roman. We want Roman. We want Roman,
guys. It's building the groundswell movementfor Roman reigns return is it's getting
to a boiling point and it's funto watch and feel and be a part
of all Right, so that issmacked down, you know, in a
(36:54):
nutshell. We got the raw sideof things and I'll kind of hammer through
this quickly. We got a lotof the highlights of Live and Dom and
we all know how fun this hasbeen for most people. Though some of
you don't like it, but Ithink generally it's been positively received. With
Live finding her spot here in life. It's just, you know, there's
(37:16):
been so many times that Live hasbeen reinvented and redone and repackaged whatever this
version of Live is is working. So I wouldn't touch this. But Live
and Dom seem to be working verywell together. How long have they been
working together? Is Dom just eventuallygoing to tell reear Ripley he was lying
(37:37):
and that he was secret? Mean? Where does this end? It's gonna
be fun to think about. Let'ssee. So we've got Shamus versus Ludwig
Kaiser and that ended with a Shamuslosing to Ludwig Kaiser in about thirteen minutes
and forty five seconds after Kaiser gota roll up on Seamus. I don't
(37:59):
know, and I don't understand theneed I have to say to always make
people whole as they say, meaningprotected in a loss. Why what at
Seamus's in this point in his lifeand his career do we need to protect
him from Ludwig Kaiser, who isa lot younger and has you know,
(38:21):
the sky's limit potential. I neverunderstood that, Like with Randy Orton not
getting a clean loss, giving aclean loss to Gunther for the King of
the Ring Final, why make ifyou're gonna have those men lose, they
can't be broken there's no need toworry about making them whole. They are
(38:45):
forever solidified in w W lore. But all right, moving on, we
get the QR codes. There wassome QR codes this week and last week,
and we get QR codes here andthere. We can hope that we
get the Wyatts debut or the UncleHowdie debut, whatever this group is at
Clash. I hope, all right, we got dragon Ly versus Finn balor
(39:13):
Finn ballor ends up beating Dragonly ineight and a half minutes after his Coudi
graph finish. And then after thematch, Bronze Stroman and Ray Masterio came
out and that's one big white sonof a blank, McAfee said, and
Ray stayed at ringside while Stroman enteredthe ring and put down all all three
heels on his own while wearing onebig uslbe T shirt. So very perfectly
(39:37):
coincided, of course with the announcementof you know, from McAfee. But
all right, so we move onhere and we get I'm trying to think
of the matches here, not somuch the backstage stuff. But we did
get the Maxine Dupre and Alpha Academyand Sammy's ain segment again where Sammy's trying
(40:04):
to talk sent into both Otis ornot both, but all three Otis and
a Curtizzala and Maxine Duprie. He'strying maybe you know what, it might
help if he yells louder. Maybethey just can't hear him. Maybe maybe
that's what it is. Maybe that'swhy, you know, uh, they're
(40:25):
they're not breaking free from from Otisor from chad Gable rather, maybe that's
the reason. Maybe maybe Sammy's ainjust needs to yell more in his promos.
I'm being a jerk, by theway, but in all seriousness,
this Chad Gable stories, I saidon my Monday at Raw review last week,
(40:45):
has been an absolute joy to watch, everything from the just the premise,
to the execution, to the thethe build up of Otis eventually turning.
There's another predictable outcome we see comingbut don't care and want to see
right so many to count, Sothis again, chad Gable's doing career work.
(41:13):
Chad Gable is on another level. We'll see if that holds. We'll
see if after this payoff is donethat he goes back to obscurity. I
hope not, but right now theChad Gable group and Chad himself have been
very entertaining and you just want tosee Otis finally snap. But so far
(41:37):
he sided with Chad. So farOtis's loyalties, although have been stretched,
continue to lie with Chad. Ithink that'll change on Saturday. Hint,
hint, wink wink. All right, we then have let's see bron Breaker
versus Ricochet. Bron Breaker beats Ricochetin eight minutes after he speared and pinned
(42:00):
Ricochet. There's lots of speculation thatif and since Ricochet's contract expired with w
that's we're gonna have. Samantha Irvinalso follow suit. That has been kind
of the news and trends on XToday. And to all that, I'd
say, let's wait and see.Let's wait and see. But bron Breaker
(42:22):
destroys Ricochet, which is always funto watch. Kana James versus Natalia where
Kana James beats Natalia in two minutesand fifty five seconds. Broun Stroman beats
Carlito in a minute and thirty seconds. We got Then let's see Bianca and
Jade versus Shana and Zoe for thewomen's tag team titles. Where obviously Bianca
(42:45):
and Jade retain those titles. AsI've continued to say, Jade and Bianca
are losing those belts for several months. I mean, especially the fact that
Jade's not ready to be single staryet. She's just not And that's fine,
all right, Let's see Jade orJade Jay does and has started talking
(43:07):
about money in the bank. Heactually he basically declared himself for the match.
Apparently you can just declare yourself forthe money in the bank now,
like Michael Scott declaring ourselves for bankruptcy. Please tell me we have some office
fans out there. I've been reallyback into the office lately. The show
that just sucks you back in.It's so good. They're doing some kind
(43:28):
of weird spin off or I don'tknow if it's spin offs the right word,
but anyway, So you know,I think that you have jay U
so talking about money in the bank. He is going to eventually come back
to fight with alongside Roman and makeamends with Jay or Jimmy. They'll be
(43:51):
reunited to help fight this new cancerof a bloodline off. By the way,
there's a new right hand man inin the new bloodline that was a
nice touch rights call back to Jay. So Jay and Tomatongo will likely cross
paths very soon. So oh,by the way, the I think Jay
(44:14):
put out a poll on X abouthow do you want me to refer to
money in the bank briefcase? Isit yeat in the bank or what is
it money in the yeat? He'strying to figure out the best way to
say, so we can sell moreT shirts. But hey, what better
way to figure out what your audiencewants than ask them? So I have
no problem with it. All right, Let's see AOP versus the New Day.
(44:39):
I can't believe the New Day arestill a thing. We get AOP
beating the New Day in two anda half minutes, so allilujah. Let's
see we got Damian Priest versus raymonsSteriro in a non title match where Damian
Priest beats Raymonsterio in thirteen minutes andthirty seconds. As he should. He's
(45:00):
going into a title match at Clashat the Castle. He needs to look
as strong as possible. Raymis Stereois impenetrable at this point in his career,
just like Randy Orton, just likeSeamus before him. That I've mentioned
these guys can afford clean losses. It's not gonna do a damn thing to
hurt their career. But all right, you know, I'm surprised you didn't
(45:23):
get another postmatch kiss by the way, with Living Dom, I thought for
sure we would, But I guessthey're waiting for that payoff, maybe on
Saturday where it's gonna turn out thatDom has been working with Live all along,
or maybe that'll happen on Raw afterI'm not sure. But Dom in
all of his in all of hisyou know, obviously defects in his personality.
(45:45):
You know, this is one ofthem where he's cheating on Riha with
Live. It's gonna be fun towatch, and boy, does it even
make you want Ria to return evenmore? My guy? Think of all
these returns that are just pending thatyou just can't wait for Rhea Rock Roman
Brock events out there as I keepmentioning these every week. But you got
(46:05):
to remember, guys, there's somany people out there that have not come
Charlotte for those of you that areinterested in the women's vision on probably SmackDown.
So there's a lot of interesting catsout there that have yet to come
back. So there's some fun tobe had as we move deeper into the
summer, and I'm looking forward toit. All righty, that'll do it
for me in the week in reviewhere, everybody, Thank you so much.
(46:28):
Again. I know it's a weekendreview. I didn't get to every
little thing, every little backstage segment. It's just not feasible, right.
