In sickly ironic and very deliberate narratives, pro-Hamas antisemites and anti-Zionists also rushed to comparisons: Gaza as a concentration camp, the IDF as the new Nazis, and Benjamin Netanyahu playing the role of Hitler.

He has developed and curated museums across the globe and his work in film has earned both Oscar and Emmy awards. A rabbi, professor and lecturer, Berenbaum's work examines the intersection of historical trauma and contemporary culture. His scholarship has shaped both academic study and public understanding of the Holocaust, and he continues to be a leading voice in the field.
