To prevent tragedies, it's important to understand why some individuals become desensitized to violence. Recognizing warning signs and fostering community support can help identify and assist those in need, potentially averting future crises. It's crucial to act on these signs. It is important to talk and push for solutions. The next school event may needlessly take the lives of children and adults. Learn how to spot the warning signs and speak up to prevent tragedy. If you see something, say something. In this Short Video, we start with a tiny clip from a Sandy Hook Promise Video (watch whole Ad in our In Focus video) which shows a staged reporting "a day before" a tragic school event. More videos and information on Sandy Hook Promise is available at: www.youtube.com/@SandyHookPromiseOrg Yo then discusses a situation he experienced in his teen years where he helped a fellow student who was experiencing extreme behavior related to one of his teachers, resulting in that kid getting the help he needed, likely preventing a tragedy at the school, and bringing clarity to the teen in distress. We all can learn from this. Yo likely saved lives by doing the right thing as a young man, realizing the dangers to the kid and the community. Yo and Joe discuss this topic in detail on The YoJoe Show™ Podcast, In Focus Segment # 5, now available on YouTube and all major audio streaming platforms. In the full In Focus Segment, Yo and Joe openly discuss school safety and the serious concerns resurfaced in light of recent attacks on schoolkids, teachers and staff. While preparing this segment, Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, while surrounded by thousands of students and other attendees. The broadened discussion speaks not only about how to make schools safer, but, perhaps more importantly, why anyone would specifically target individuals such as Charlie, or alternately indiscriminately target helpless children at schools (or other traditional "soft targets" like churches, synagogues, or parks).
