SPEAKER_00 (00:01):
So, whenever I watch
an anime, I always have like
this special rule about threeepisodes I want to watch and
kind of give it a try.
See how things kind of go.
I guess more than just anime, but I do this for like regular
shows anyway, but still, it'sjust one of those ones where I
was not sure how things weregonna go here.
The first season of this show,it isn't bad, but it's
(00:24):
interesting, I'd say, until youget to the season two.
And I say that because if youlook up ratings for Demon Lord
Retry, you will notice the factthat it has some pretty decent
ratings, kind of like a mid, alittle bit better anime.
But the thing about it is thatthose ratings are specifically
more for season two than seasonone.
(00:44):
You see, this particular anime,it scrapped season one, and even
though season two is officiallya season two, it is actually the
first couple episodes justcompletely redo season one
altogether.
Or you see, this anime, it hadthe same situation that happened
with animes like Full MetalAlchemist, uh, Owie Blue
(01:06):
Exorcist, where it deterred fromthe manga setting because the
manga wasn't finished.
Well, Full Metal Alchemist, Idon't think that's actually the
case for that one, but I meanBrotherhood is full on the
manga.
So, but the thing about but forI know for Blue Exorcist, that's
what happened there is the factthat the manga was still going,
the anime got caught up ahead, and so the anime decided to
(01:27):
create an ending instead of justcreating filler, it just said
we're gonna end the series, andthat's not at all how the manga
was going, the manga was goingin this direction.
So they wound up having to redoit with season three and just
rewind time without telling usthey rewind time.
So season comes back and islike, What?
(01:49):
It's just so confusing.
Well, Demon Lord Retry does thesame thing.
Season one doesn't follow themanga at all.
There's a lot of story contentthat is scrapped and taken out.
So season two in the first twoepisodes recaps season one and
then adds in the additionaldetails that was taken out,
(02:11):
which pretty much makes it tothe point you can watch this
anime starting at season two andjust completely skip season one
altogether.
And to me, that's kind ofpointless.
Like, why would you do somethinglike that?
It doesn't make sense.
So it's like, uh I I guess Iguess.
So even based on my rating ofthis anime, I agree with some of
(02:33):
the critics into it's gonna belike a 6.5 uh if I'm gonna be
really nice, but realistically,I'd give it like a five out of
ten, a kind of a mid-rangeanime.
Um, it it's not super creative, but it is entertaining, but
because that whole shift indirection makes it so much more
confusing.
(02:53):
So let's let's dive into DemonLord Retry.
You can see what that is.
So, first off, let's start offreally simple.
Season one, we are introduced toour main character, Hakuto
Kunai.
What we know of him is that heis the demon lord of a video
game that was cast into thismagical fantasy world.
(03:16):
However, he is under the controlof his creator who developed
this game.
So, kind of similar to like Einzout going with Overlord, the
developer shut down his hisvideo game after it had been
running online for so long.
As soon as he shut it down, hewas immediately teleported, not
(03:36):
even into his game, he wasteleported into his character,
who was then magically summonedto this fantasy world.
So it's already a littleconfusing in itself.
So I was like, okay, that'sinteresting.
Pretty much these dark prieststhey want to bring chaos to the
world, so they reached out tothis special goddess, and it's
(03:57):
interesting that she grantedthis wish anyway, uh, for them
for her to summon a demon lordfrom another dimension over to
this realm, specifically becausetheir demon lord was sealed
away, and they wanted more powerto bring more chaos.
So it's like, okay, got you.
Uh so she did it, and she woundup bringing Kaboto.
So, well, Hakato, sorry.
(04:19):
So it's it's very interesting, very weird, and how things are
gonna go.
Now, Hakato shows up, he'sconfused about why it is he's
there, automatically realizeshe's in the body of his main
villain for his game.
So he's like, Okay, well, what'sgoing on?
And then immediately winds uprunning into this girl, Aku.
She's an orphan girl, she hasinjuries, she is heavily
(04:42):
mistreated in the villagebecause nobody loves her, nobody
wants her.
Pretty much normal sad tale.
And so it's like, okay, nobodywants you.
And her job was to clean theshit literally of the village.
And when they didn't want heranymore, they decided to dispose
of her and give her to the demonlord because they're like, Oh,
we have to sacrifice a virgin.
(05:03):
Like, why would we sacrifice ourgood virgins when we could just
get rid of her?
So they sacrifice her to thedemon lord, she barely manages
to escape, but the demon lordwinds up catching up to her.
Hakuto kills him in one hitbecause this is a normal I am OP
for this world anyway, ofcourse.
So after we do that, Hakato hewinds up taking her in, helping
(05:28):
her out.
They run into a girl named Lunaand her caravan of people.
So Luna is what's known as aholy maiden.
So you see, the holy maidens arethe three most powerful women,
magical women of this world.
So, what it is is that they havethe most immense amount of
magical power, they areauthorized to use the most
(05:50):
immense spells and things likethat.
So it's like, okay, cool.
Sounds like a plan.
What winds up happening that's alittle bit different here is the
fact that Luna is one of theweakest ones, but her attacks
seem like they don't doanything.
But it's not that they don't doanything because Hakuto has
absolutely no magic.
(06:11):
While every creature in thisrealm has some form of magic, he
does not because he's from adifferent land, and because of
that, he is easily susceptibleto magic, he can be hurt by it,
so he's trying to find a way todefend himself from it.
That becomes what's supposed tobe the premise of season one,
which quickly again changes forseason two.
(06:34):
Now, Luna's interestingcharacter because the way she's
written is a gag character, andshe thinks that Hakuto is
obsessed with her butt.
And the reason that he'sobsessed with her butt is
because when he winds up meetingher, she immediately attacked
him because she sent dark energyfrom him, easily associated him
(06:54):
as Demon Lord, because Akkukeeps calling him Demon Lord all
the time, even though he says,Please stop calling me that.
And she loses, and he winds uppunishing her by spanking her
because he says, Clearly, youhave never been disciplined and
you need discipline.
And she took that a differentway.
Of you just love my butt, andyou just want to keep touching
and spanking it.
(07:15):
And I'm like, Okay, so she'sobsessed like that.
Gotcha.
Okay, uh, this is one of themtype of situations.
Uh no, sir.
Um, either way, so that becomesuh a running gag for a little
while.
She eventually stops that, thankGod.
And we wound up meeting uh theother two maidens, uh Angel
(07:35):
White, who is the eldest sister, and and I'm putting quotations
into that because they're notrelated, but there's sisters in
the church.
Keep that in mind, too, thegoddess, the church of the
goddess.
So you have um Angel White, youhave Killer Queen.
So Angel White is the strongestand most is the strongest in
magic, and she's the supposedlylike the eldest and most wisest
(07:57):
and the nicest.
Killer Queen is like her name,Killer Queen.
She fucks demons up and shit.
She doesn't really take Mo foran answer.
She also tends to fight almostany single person that she comes
up against.
Even if you're a bandit, shedoesn't care.
So pretty interesting thingthere.
Now, we will go a little bitfurther into these girls.
(08:20):
It's not much to dive into intothat because it's not much
there.
Because until we get to seasontwo, like we do get introduced
for Hakuto's alternativepersonality, Zero Kirosame.
Well, Hakuto is the demon lord,uh, Zero is a dragonborn kind of
character.
I'm not entirely sure.
(08:41):
Um, he's just it's not that he'snot susceptible to magic, it's
just that all darkness doesn'twork to him type of thing.
Um, and I say that because weget more of an explanation for
him in season two.
There's really nothing forseason one onto that.
We're just like, okay, he's justhere, I guess, type of thing.
Um, and it's confusing how itkind of goes into that.
(09:02):
What happens is Akuto is like hewinds up running into the dark
priest.
The dark priest releases a darkenergy.
Um, I forgot the exact name ofit, but what it is is that
because it's dark magic, itactually does wind up affecting
him, and he can't move and he'slike stuck.
So it's one time that he's notOP and he's trying to figure out
what to do, and then all of asudden magically just transforms
(09:25):
into Zero, and then Zero cannotbe touched by the dark.
It's called Hades, that's whatit was.
Uh Hades, the dark entity, cannot touch Zero.
Zero is like pure light, buthe's also a completely different
personality than Hakuto.
Hakuto is fully in control ofwell, the the person, the
creator is fully in control ofHakuto.
(09:46):
However, it's a little bitdifferent.
You have a great day, okay?
I thought I paused.
Uh, I'm gonna have to edit thatout.
Alright, so Hakuto is in fullcontrol.
Well, no, so the creator is infull control of Hakuto.
However, the creator hasabsolutely zero control of Zero.
(10:11):
Whenever he's in the Zero form,he has he has no control
whatsoever.
However, it does seem as if Zerodoes have some of his uh, at
least like it has his knowledge, but his a whole different
personality.
Very like, I'm the hero, I'mbound like that, I'm cool like
that, type of thing, and it'slike, okay, well, whatever, I I
(10:32):
guess, type of thing.
But he has no control, he's justthere, and so he absolutely
hates it.
He doesn't like ever switchingto Zero specifically for that
reason.
Now, the thing about it is thatKiller Queen is absolutely in
love with Zero, like juststraight up, I love him, he's
(10:53):
the love of my life, he'samazing, he's this and this, and
all because he showed up andsaved the day.
She's like, nobody has ever donethat for me.
Oh, someone who's more powerfulthan me, amazing! And it's like,
okay, uh, cool, I guess.
He's not at all interested inher, anyway.
(11:14):
So it's what I say, as far aslike, okay, it was it's pretty
introductory with things, andit's like, okay, we can kind of
move forward from that.
So what happens is Zero winds upalso coming in later on in
season one, defeating uh uh avampire, a vampire prince, per
se.
Now, he this becomes morerelevant again later on because
(11:36):
we don't get much details.
It's just all of a sudden thisvampire prince shows up, he he
was summoned, and he's like, uh,why am I here?
Why did you summon me?
Oh, this riffraff, da da da da.
But he can't lay a hand on zero, pretty much.
He's like, Okay, uh, you beatme, and I'm gonna find you again
to square this up because I'venever had anyone defeat me
before.
(11:56):
And this I have respect for you,but I'm gonna come after you,
type of thing.
Okay, cool.
So now we kind of have anestablishment of somewhat of the
characters.
Let's go a little bit more intowhat the I guess the story is
supposed to be.
And I say it's supposed to bebecause, again, it's completely
changed from season two, becausethis is not the storyline that
(12:19):
is hit in the manga.
So in season one, what happensis that Luna she has a territory
under her control.
Of this territory she has undercontrol is a village of bunny
people who are extremely poor, very helpless of things, they're
pretty much about to die out, they can't farm because the land
it has no moisture to it, theyget no rain.
(12:39):
They've asked for help and hasalways been pretty much denied
to them.
So Hakato wands up coming acrossand he's like, oh, well, this
seems like the perfect spot.
And he turns it into an oasisusing his magical skill points
of being able to summon things.
Because he was able to summon awell that's not by magic, but by
the technology that's based intothe game that he created, is
(13:02):
that this well will always bringforth water no matter what or
where it's at.
So again, it's not magic, butit's magic.
And that's where I say, okay, that's just stupidly confusing,
but we're gonna go along withit.
Who cares?
(13:22):
Whatever.
Just go ahead and do it.
Who cares, I guess.
So he turns this failing villageinto an oasis.
All the bunny people have jobs, they now have plenty of water,
they're able to grow food, everything is great, and he
wants to try to make some moneyout of it.
So he's trying to get some richbureaucrats that he winds up
meeting in other towns.
(13:43):
Um, he's able to summon randomobjects and sell them for high
prices because they're theydon't exist in this land, so
they're extremely rare and theylook nice.
So to him, he's like, these arejust like common cheap items in
my world, but here they're likenear the priceless.
So that's pretty cool.
It works out for him.
Pretty straightforward.
Okay, maybe this is like a farmvillage anime, I guess.
(14:05):
Demon Lord retries a demon lordtrying to do Farmville or
something, I guess.
I don't know, just trying to seewhat's going on.
There's not much there, okay.
That that's pretty much seasonone.
That's really it.
He summons some help, you know.
He winds up summoning a uh twoof his helpers from the video
game that he's from, well thathe created, uh, you Karino, who
(14:27):
she is a medical doctor, who hasthis ability to cure any illness
or any disease.
She even has a special abilitycalled God Hand, where she's
able to turn her fingers intoany medical equipment that she
needs to fix the situation, eventurning it into a syringe that
has magical healing fluid to it.
She was able to heal Aku's anklebecause I did fail to mention
(14:49):
Aku, she's also um notparaplegic.
She uh has a limp, she has adamaged ankle that wound up
getting a bad infection to itbecause no one took care of her.
So you was able to heal her, which is cool.
And uh, like it's it's awesometo that.
He summons uh Tahara, AkitoTahara, who's the weapons
(15:10):
expert.
This dude is able to pull gunsout of nowhere, and it's like,
okay.
And but he's also like astrategist, he helps build the
town up.
So that's what we get.
Like, season one is very simple, plain game.
It seems like it's not entirelysure where the direction is
gonna go.
Now enter season two.
(15:32):
Season two takes a completelydifferent direction.
Like, in all honesty, I wouldprobably prefer doing this as an
anime lightning review becauseseason two is where things
actually become better.
So there's not much more I needto say into it.
So I'm gonna just get throughthis really rather quickly
(15:53):
because the foundation was laid, then they just revamped it and
said pretty much forget aboutseason one.
Season two is the new seasonone, even though it's season
two.
Whatever.
So let's go back in time to acharacter whose name is Akira.
Oh no.
I think I'm saying it right, butAkira.
Akira is the game developer whocreated the game that Hakuto is
(16:18):
from.
Hakuto again is the demon lordcharacter from that video game
that was created by Akira.
Akira created this game andoriginally was trying to go to a
developer to kind of massproduce it, make some big bucks
out of it and stuff, but hefocused more on quality than
money because they made him adeal, but he didn't like the
(16:39):
deal because, for one, he didn'town the game, it felt like they
were trying to steal it from himand it didn't kind of work out
the way he wanted, and he didn'thave control to be able to make
the game the best quality thathe wanted it.
So he turned it down.
Now, there might be somethingmore here, and I'm not gonna
spoil from the manga, but theremight be something more here
(16:59):
because also during hisinterview, apparently the games
that they develop, the monsterscome to life for real, like a
reverse Isekai.
So it's like, oh, okay, that'sinteresting.
We don't get any further fromthat in season two.
There's like just littleglimpses because what happens in
season two is that we getflashbacks, he just randomly
(17:22):
starts remembering his past andthat led up to him becoming into
this magical world because herealizes this isn't by mistake,
he's here on purpose.
So now we got to try to figurethings out.
So, Akira, we finally first gota name and we finally get an
idea of what it looks like.
We also get more of a backgroundfor Zero.
(17:42):
Turns out Akira had a friend whoalso helped make a game, and
Zero is a character that hecreated in that game, and this
is one that he created when hewas young, kind of ignorant and
stuff, which explains Zero'spersonality of just like, oh,
I'm bad, oh, I'm like this typeof thing.
So he hates Zero because it'shis old self.
Okay, now we got some morebackstory.
(18:04):
Now we got more of what's goingon.
Then we get more backstory fromthe maidens that should have
been mentioned in season one.
Like, for example, with Luna.
Luna had most of her backstorycompletely stripped away to make
her a comedy gag character.
Pretty much the same thing thathappened to Sakura and Naruto.
For you guys who've actuallyread the manga of Naruto, which
(18:24):
we've talked about in previousreviews as well.
If you read the manga, Sakura isa well-developed character.
She's actually extremely usefulto Team Seven, has a lot more
skills than they let her have inthe anime.
It's not until she put in thatshe winds up actually getting
more of her abilities back, perse.
Otherwise, in the anime, youjust hate her.
(18:45):
That's pretty much what happenedto Luna in season one.
In season two, we understandmore of her personality.
So Luna has an attachment tothis village.
She's been wanting to help thisvillage, but the church says no
because there is racism in thisworld.
Demi-humans are looked downupon.
Quite specifically, if you're ademi-human of like half human,
(19:08):
half animal, but if you're alsoone of a bird race, you are the
worst of the bunch.
Because apparently the birdraces wind up causing an issue
with the demon lords that woundup causing humanity to go to war
with them that caused everyoneto almost die.
So everyone blames demi-humansand especially bird versions of
(19:29):
demihumans.
Well, Luna, when she was achild, she was an orphan, and
she had a best friend namedEagle, who was a bird
demi-human.
They were both tight, veryclose, like sisters.
What happened is that Luna hadmagical powers.
(19:50):
She wanted to become a holymaiden because she thought it
would help make things better, and she wanted to bridge the gap
between humans and demi-humans.
Turns out it didn't work out theway she thought because when she
finally became a holy maiden, she worked her butt off to get
there, which is also taken awayin season one.
In season one, they keeppainting her out as a spoiled
brat.
(20:10):
She didn't even earn her right.
But in season two, you find outno, she actually earned her way
there.
She like really pushed hard, went through torturous measures
in order to get her magicalability up to be able to be
recognized as a holy maiden.
So, yes, she may be the weakestof the three, but she still
(20:31):
heavily scales in power comparedto most magic users in this
fantasy world.
And that's one of the thingsthat they stripped away from
her.
They stripped away her friend,Eagle, which is also a major
part of her backstory, becausewe understand that's her reason
for being a holy maiden.
That's also her reason for beingattached to this village, the
fact that why she hasn't let itgo.
(20:51):
She still comes by to check inon it and she still tries what
she can, and she's actuallyhappy that Hakuto or Akira was
able to actually save thevillage and save the people.
She loves demi-humans, eventhough they're told they're
supposed to hate them.
She does not harbor hate forthem.
So that's a major point of herstory where it's like you took
(21:12):
someone that had a deepdevelopment and you turned into
a gag character for no reason.
And that's the reason why Ireally rate this anime low is
because they did this multipletimes.
Like, for example, you is putdown as like, okay, cool, you
have great healing ability, butwho cares, type of thing in
season one.
Versus in season two, you findout that there's more going on
(21:35):
here.
Whereas like she and Tahara bothrecognize that something is
different about Hakuto.
They don't know that it's thecreator, Akira, that's in his
body.
They just think it's Hakuto.
But then, like, he's verydifferent, he's not as cold and
demeanor.
We actually like this version ofhim.
He's nicer, he's getting thingsdone, and he doesn't want to go
(21:55):
back to the way that things werein the game.
Because in the demon realm thatthey were at was it's not
necessarily a demon realm, butthey called it that because
orphans had to fight for theirlives.
Like you had to fight or youdied.
That's just what it was.
And so hearing Hakato out ofHakuto's mouth and not knowing
that it's a cura, but hearinghim say, I don't want to
recreate what happened there.
(22:16):
I don't want to redo that.
I want to create somethingbetter.
They love that about that.
And they're like, okay, great.
So it creates a differentdevelopment because Yu winds up
developing feelings for Hakatothat she's never had before.
But it's because of the factthat she's indeed she's
recognized, she doesn't know it,but she's like, I feel like my
God, my creator, or something isthere.
(22:37):
I've never felt this before, butit's like I feel a different
presence from him, but I'm notunderstanding.
She just thinks that it's just adifferent change of him.
So Haro recognizes something isdifferent as well, too, but he's
appreciative of it.
He's happy that things are goinga different route.
He's not having to be that killboy all the time because he's a
weapons expert.
(22:58):
His job was to alwaysassassinate and kill.
So again, it's like we finallyget that development more to
these characters that's startingto flesh out more.
We also get more of a storywhere Hakoto or Akira winds up
traveling a little bit morebecause he's still in search of
trying to find a way to protecthimself from magic, but we find
out something extra.
In the first season, um, oncethe Demon Lord is summoned, he
(23:20):
winds up going back to thegoddess that summons him.
She gives him a special amuletand says, take this.
And we know nothing about this.
Only thing that happens is onetime in season one, all of a
sudden, Akira loses control ofHakato and he doesn't know why.
And it's like Hakato is talkingdown on him.
It's like, you really don't knowhow to handle this, you're
(23:41):
really weak and stuff.
And it's like, what?
But it only happens one time andthen it just disappears.
Well, in season two, we get moreof an understanding.
The amulet is actually what'sallowing Akira to keep control
of Hakato, but it can also workin reverse.
When the amulet starts glowing,Hakato also starts taking
control of himself again.
So Akira is now alsounderstanding that he's having
(24:02):
to battle for control andunderstanding that he could lose
control of Hakato at a time, andHakuto is the demon that he
created.
This guy does not care.
He will kill whoever is there.
He doesn't like getting hurt bymagic, he doesn't like getting
hurt, period.
And that means that if it meanshe has to kill someone, oh, he
absolutely will kill somebody.
(24:24):
So it's very, very different onthis.
So now Akira is understandingokay, there's something more
there.
And again, something again wasrobbed from season one that's
finally put back into seasontwo.
So season two feels rushed.
There's a lot of informationthat kind of happens, but it's
because they're like having tofix season one and then make a
season two.
(24:45):
So it is really bad on how theydid that, but it's one of those
ones I'm like, I can understandwhy you're trying to do so.
So I I kind of have hopes forseason three to be better.
So we're gonna kind of see howthings go.
So season two, we wind upmeeting further villains.
We meet another villain whowinds up being trying to take
over as a new demon lord with uhhis magical powers.
(25:06):
But of course, uh Hakato is aone-hit kill monster, so he
showed is an OP monster, heshows up, um, they wind up
saving all these slaves becausethis guy is he's make he makes
himself slaves, he's the head ofthe slavery, and so they wind up
taking him down.
Um, Hakoto unveils a new abilityof himself, something that he
was able to do in the video gamethat Akira developed, which is
(25:29):
that if he winds up takingenough damage, because yes, he
actually took damage in thatfight because magic affects him.
Um because he takes so muchdamage, he's able to enter his
quote-unquote second boss phase, where he teleports them to the
video game that he created intothe magical arena.
And in this arena, Hakotoundergoes a transformation,
(25:50):
becomes stronger, and has awhole different form to him.
It doesn't last, he does wind upreverting back after the fight
is over, but he enters hissecond boss phase.
Something interesting about thisis that this one resonates to
all of the people that hesummons from the other world.
All of them recognize hey, myboss, he's entering his second
phase.
(26:11):
Hey, I feel his energy, something's different.
So they have that connection tohim and they can recognize that
this is happening.
We also have introduction toanother villain.
Um, understanding that eventhough we have our holy maidens,
the church does not like theholy maidens, even though
they're supposed to be.
The reason being, the holymaidens have their own way of
(26:32):
doing things that the churchdoesn't like.
We've already mentioned beforethat demi-humans are supposed to
be the evil.
We don't like demi-humans, butit's not just Luna.
Most of the holy maidens feelthe same way as Luna.
Well, Killer Bee, she doesn'treally care either way.
That angel loves all.
Luna loves all.
So the thing about it is thatthe church doesn't like that.
(26:53):
But the holy maidens are theclosest to the goddess.
Well, this villain winds upsummoning his own special
creature that was supposed to beable to be on par to destroy the
holy maidens.
He was keeping it a secret.
Unfortunately, he found out Lunawas coming because Luna found
out that her friend Eagle wasactually not killed like she was
told, but was actually sold as aslave.
(27:16):
So she found her and was like,Oh, I'm gonna get her.
Because Hakato, when he foundout about this, made um had
Tahara be able to kind of locateher.
So they were able to locateEagle, they rescued her, and so
it's a pretty awesome battlewhere again it showcases Luna's
high magical ability.
She's able to do a fifth-levelmagic spell, something that you
(27:37):
know you have to be only a holymaiden to do because it takes an
immense amount of power.
So she's able to do that.
She winds up creating this, um,pretty much decimating the
entire town, and winds up goingagainst this uh giant mechanical
uh magical magical beastmonstrosity.
Um, but the thing about it isLuna doesn't have enough power
(27:58):
to finish it off, shows upHakato, Hakato winds up
finishing it off himself.
So he's able to go ahead andstill jump in and save the day
last minute.
So he's able to do that.
He was able to like beat twovillains into season two.
There's a lot more development.
We even get a chance to get Zeroback again and get a moment
where we get a rematch from Zeroversus the vampire.
(28:18):
The vampire is like, oh, I knowwho you are.
I kind of get a betterunderstanding of who you are
now, you Dragon Ken.
Which they get a chance toexplain that a little bit
further, too.
Because he is a dragonborn thathe was created in his in the
Kira's friends game.
He was created as a dragonborn,so now it makes sense.
It's not just something thatrandomly said.
So now that we kind of get thatunderstanding there, uh the
(28:40):
vampire he comes, winds upgetting a chance to get a
rematch, and he's like, Yeah, but not only that, the dragon,
the uh vampire recognizes Hakutothat he has another form.
Even though he didn't see himtransform, he says, I sense his
energy in you.
He says, So I know that youcould transform.
I don't want to talk to thisdemon lord, I don't want to talk
(29:02):
to you.
Bring him, bring Zero.
That's who I want to fight.
And so it's interesting becausenow we have somebody who knows
that Hakuto has a secondpersonality, which in doing so
automatically brings Zero out.
They wind up having a rematch.
Zero does actually take somedamage, but Zero still wins in
the end.
Um, but then winds up escapingaway because you find out that
(29:25):
the vampire he has a maidenunderneath him, his own uh like
yeah, I say maiden, like hismaid, uh has his own maiden
underneath him who actuallycares for him and loves him.
So she wound up stepping in thefray, and Zero, because he sees
himself as the hero, was like,Oh, I'm not gonna hurt you.
She makes him run away becauseshe insults him and makes him
(29:47):
feel like he's a villain.
And he's like, But I'm not avillain, I'm I'm the hero, I'm
the bad guy.
How I'm not the bad guy.
How am I the bad guy here?
This doesn't make sense.
And then he winds up runningaway because his ego's hurt, and
then you find out that's hisbiggest weakness is his ego.
Which I guess makes sense.
So that's what we have forseason two.
Season two is significantlybetter than season one.
(30:07):
I would highly say don't evenwatch season one.
Just start with season two.
Because not only did they changethe story, they change the
character design, the animationis different.
Um, literally, characters'outfits completely change.
One girl, her outfit was that, you know, women warriors wear
skippy armor and stuff likethat.
That's how she was in seasonone, pop in season two, it's a
(30:30):
whole different armor set.
And it's like, okay, her haircolor is different as well, too.
And I'm like, why would youchange the hair color?
That doesn't even make sense.
But I don't know.
But even in the recap, theydon't go recap it to them in
their old outfits.
They recap the entire firstseason and everyone in different
outfits.
It's like, like I said, theytried to erase season one.
(30:50):
So Demon Lord retry, season twois pretty much Demon Lord Retry
R.
Demon Lord retry retry.
Because they're retrying it overagain.
It's absolute nonsense.
Um, but that's what I got.
Again, I've already given thisanime six and a half as being
good uh and being nice.
Uh idealistically, five if I'mrating for season one and season
(31:11):
two.
If rating just season two, sixand a half, because they have to
cram so much to fix season onethat it feels like season two is
rushed.
It doesn't get the flesh outthat it needs, and it it hurts,
it definitely hurts in watchingit.
It makes it difficult to watchin some cases.
So it's not horrible.
Maybe things will finally getbetter now that they're not
(31:32):
having to cram so much in.
But that's what I got.
So until next time, I talk toyou guys until another anime.
You guys stay nerdy, greatthings are coming.
I'll talk to y'all later.
Bye.
