We explore Hero Mashima's storytelling evolution from Rave Master to Farmagia to Edens Zero, finding that Edens Zero represents his most mature and compelling work yet.

• Rave Master still holds up with solid jokes, music, and character development
• Farmagia blends Pokémon with fantasy elements as Mashima served as character designer
• Edens Zero follows Shiki Granbell, a human raised by robots who can control gravity
• The series features space adventures, time manipulation, and darker themes than Mashima's previous works
• Edens Zero contains numerous references to Rave Master and Fairy Tail without feeling derivative
• Characters like Drakken Joe and Homura's mother Kurenai demonstrate the series' willingness to explore darker territory
• Season two focuses on confrontation with Drakken Joe and Ziggy's resurrection
• The power of friendship doesn't always prevail in Edens Zero, setting it apart from Fairy Tail
• Edens Zero video game releases on July 15th, potentially building momentum for season three

Speaker 1 (00:01):
hey yo.
So you remember when wereviewed fairy tale a while back
.
Well, it's finally time we goahead and talk about the other
works by hiro mashima, startingwith rave master.
Now I re-watched rave master.
I was watching it when I was akid and honestly it was better
than I remembered.

(00:22):
Like the jokes, the musiccomposition, that opening theme
still slaps.
The heroes are pretty solid castlike Haru Glory with his
mission to let all the ravestones and defeat the shadow
guard and smash all the shadowstones and, you know, for peace

(00:44):
to the world.
You, gotie the anisiac who gotthese cool ass tompa guns and
turns out that she's like aclone of a woman who have like
ethereum within her.
Uh, you have musica.
Music is cool, like I want to.

(01:04):
I want to say he looks morelike the prototype for a great
full buster in a way, but he'scool in his own right work like

(01:26):
uh, the carrot nose dog that youprobably see in fairy tale,
like sparingly, but plu is moreprominent in rave master.
So if you see that carrot nosedog and any of those macho words
, um, that's pretty much ahomage to rave master.
Uh, you see grip.
Uh, you see this one horse thatlike have this vibrating head.
And the funny thing is, I'veseen Ravemaster, I've seen

(01:49):
Farmagia and I've seen Eden Zerodo this, and out of all of them
, ravemaster did it better.
And that's crazy because, likethe animation in a way, like
it's not as clean as Fairy Tailor even Zero, but in some
aspects the animation stillholds up.

(02:11):
I did mention the jokes andwhat not, and the antagonist
they're pretty cool, like King,he's an okay antagonist.
I didn't remember there being aShadow Master, but he's alright
too.
What's an okay antagonist?
I didn't remember there being ashadow master, but he's all
right.
What's not okay, though, is himstealing ellie's first kiss.
That's assault, sir, that's ano-no.

(02:32):
Uh, the erasure on safe is athing before fairy tale and
they're not gonna go awayanytime soon.
I'll explain that later.
The big butt bandits you've seenthem in fairy tale, but they
were a thing in rave master.
So seeing them in fairy tale, that was a rave master reference

(02:55):
.
You're gonna see a lot ofreferences between those as we
go along, but for the most partyou will think that with rave
master, the main thing is likemusic, because the way they have
places like hip-hop town, garage island, which I guess
supposed to be like a referenceto garage band music, uh, musica

(03:19):
.
You think that the theme willbe music, but it's only in
terminology.
In fact, episode 11 Is theclosest thing to being music
related.
That Rave Master goes, butoutside of that it's just mainly
A bunch of people wieldingSwords and having special powers
.
They have guns too, like otherthan Ellie's Tonfa guns.

(03:43):
They have, like Guns, but it'smainly the henchman that wields
them and I thought, okay, that'scool, that's cool.
For the most part.
I don't have a whole lot to sayabout rave man.
I'll just say that it waspretty decent.
Like still holds up.
Honestly, like really, just goahead and watch it.
Like some of the jokes like Ikeep mentioning jokes, but I

(04:04):
swear to god, they age wellenough to where I'm like yeah,
yeah, I kind of chuckled hereand there.
I give rave master a generousnine out of ten.
Now moving on to farmagia.
Now, farmagia, think of it like.
But for starters, it was avideo game with hiramashima as

(04:30):
the character designer, not thewriter for the story, but the
character designer.
It was a video game before wehave an anime adaptation and
essentially it's about how thinkPokemon, but instead of you
going out and catching them, youcultivate them, you farm them.

(04:51):
You literally like throw themlike plants or fruit or some
shit, vegetables and shit andyou train them up.
It's like how you how to trainyour dragon meets Pokemon meets
fairytale.
You train them up.
It's like how to train yourdragon Meets Pokemon Meets
fairytale.
Outside of that, there's somereferences to Brave Master

(05:16):
Fairytale, the Erasure on Saceand Farmagia Are actually the
good guys.
That was a weird turn for me,but okay, whatever.
Outside of that, it just mainlythere was some corrupt members
of the oration on safes and themain cast is going out to defeat

(05:37):
them and they eventuallyreplaced them.
Well, not officially, but it'smore like, once they defeat them
, they're like candidates forbeing the new Horatio Ancest,
but they still got more work todo.
So, yeah, it was alright.
I say eh, 7.

(05:57):
Solid, 7.
It was alright.
Now the real meat and potatoesEden 0.
Now the real meat and potatoesEden Zero.
And this is why I'm glad I haveHero Pendragon for this,
because let me tell you, when Iwatched Eden Zero, finally, I

(06:20):
was thinking to myself Idefinitely like it more than
Formagia.
I like it more than Farmagia, Ilike it more than Ravemaster
Dare.
I say I think I like it betterthan Fairytale Because it's all
those, it's all of them.
So you have Zeke Granville, human boy living among robots in

(06:41):
this deserted theme park, planet Granville, in the
Sakurara Cosmos.
He had this adoptivegrandfather, the demon king
robot Ziggy, but he's abenevolent king, so I don't
think he's like real evil or not.
Yet Now he teaches them how tocontrol gravity with a
superhuman power calledEthergear.
And 10 years later, afterZiggy's death, the park is

(07:06):
visited by the space fairingcontent creators or b-cubers.
Uh, rebecca, blue garden andhappy, but yeah, happy from
fairy tale, but not the samehappy, so get that out of your
head.
Whom she keep her friends whenthe dying robots forced the
three off the grand bill beforeexpending their vital ether

(07:28):
energy.
So, seeking out new friends andadventure, the three set out in
search of Mother.
Who's this fabled goddess ofthe cosmos?
He meets Elsie Crimson, hemeets the four shining stars,
that's aboard the Eden Zero, theinterstellar warship that

(07:51):
belonged to Ziggy.
As they try to find Mother, trying to solve all these
problems on these multipleplanets, they meet Weiss Steiner
, they meet Pino, they meetHomura and, before I really get
into it, zero.
What was your impression ofEden Zero?

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Especially with season one, I thought it started
off pretty much very clean andhappy going, especially with
Shiki and his you know firstmeeting with Rebecca.
Of course it gives you thosekind of a little bit of those
vibes from, you know, natsu andLucy meeting each other and all
that, although it happened, youknow, much crazier, but they did

(08:41):
meet though.
They did meet though, and itwas pretty sad, of course,
knowing that shiki was, he wasbeing raised by robots and he
also had zehi there, sonaturally it made him a little
socially awkward, especiallywhen it came to other humans.
But aside from that, uh, helike, on the other hand, he

(09:01):
really is loyal to it shows inhis loyalty to his friends
despite all that.
So he definitely shows that hedoes care deep down.
Really, he cares deep down forlike anybody, like robot or
human, and it's definitely apretty good character of his.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Right, you know what I really like that?
You mentioned that becausefirst of all, I like the way he
met Rebecca, where he was likeit was so funny too, because at
first it was like Rebecca andHappy was about to be attacked,
or so they thought, but then itturns out that he revealed Shiki
with the long hair by the way,I'm kind of a fan of his long

(09:41):
hair for some reason, but youknow, I know it didn't last very
long.
And then I like how the dudeprobably crawled off the
creature to meet with Rebeccaand was like feeling her up and
shit and it was like so funny, but the theme for this story is
space adventure and I want tosay time travel.

(10:02):
but it's not as simple as timetravel, it's more like Time
displacement.
Okay.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
It's much Anything.
You can probably think that'slike time related.
It's much more complex.
I can say that much Like Iwon't spoil Too much, since I
have read mangas and what not, Iwill focus on just the
Animation.
I might make a little bit ofreferences here and there, but
not really to spoil anything Toomuch.
But yeah, it's, I have readmangas and whatnot.
I will focus on just theanimation.
I might make a little bit ofreferences here and there, but
not really to spoil anything toomuch.
But yeah, it is wonky with time.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
I'll say that much.
Right, fair enough Now.
Granted, when I gave my reviewon Ravemaster, ravemaster was
old, like super old, if youhaven't seen it by now.
Whatever, farmagia I didn'treally say much about parmigia,
anyway, to feel like I spoiledthat much, but like yeah you
know it is what it is.
But eden zero, yeah, like, ifyou haven't seen eden zero or

(10:59):
read the manga, I would suggest, you know, go ahead and click it
off from this episode.
I don't't blame you.
I don't blame you.
But when you do, get back to usbecause we might go into
spoiler territory if we can'thelp it Like, if we like just
slip out the tongue.
So we're warning you now, butkeep on pushing.

(11:19):
Now, like I was saying before,it starts off strong with a
machine uprising revenge squad.
That was actually a plan toencourage Shiki to leave his
home planet with no needs toreturn.
I thought it was kind oftouching and sad at the same
time, but I felt like I get itand I love how, despite all that
, like Shiki had like no illwill towards his people for

(11:42):
doing that for him, because youknow, you know they said in
themselves like hey, man, likeyou would have kept insisting on
fixing this if you knew thetruth.
So we're just gonna have tolike push you all, like give you
a reason to leave, so that wayit's like you don't have to like
keep holding yourself back, because I know you want to go
out and see the stars.
Like, yeah, you don't need tobe like Stuck on this planet

(12:04):
forever.
Like Go have adventure.
Like go meet new Friends and, like you said before, he's Kind
of awkward when it comes topeople.
Like he's Trying to befriend asmany people as possible, like
he's trying to make A hundredfriends and it's like Whatever
it takes to make new friends.
Like hey, you just beat me up,you wanna be friends?
I mean, he didn't really getbeat up, but like it just be

(12:27):
like that.
It's like just no matter whatterms the whole shit is on, it's
like, yeah, let's be friends.
I'm like bro.
Like on one hand, like that'snot how friendship works
sometimes, but on the other hand, I kind of respect.
Also, like he's like got hisgoals in mind.

(12:47):
But uh, let's talk about thecombat.
Even zero arguably has the bestcombat scene in the monster
universe with rave master.
It was like, okay, it was kindof interesting like here and
there, but it felt like a littledragged out at some point.

(13:07):
But for amasia, once again kindof imagined pokemon, but it was
okay, it was really.
What kind of drew me away waslike they use a little bit of
cgi for the monsters.
I'm like whatever.
Uh, but eden zero impressed thefuck out of me.
It just like, for instance, that fight between him and that

(13:30):
clone of LC Crimson, which who,by the way, looked like a carbon
copy of Urza Scarlet but youknow, with the eye patch and
whatnot, and she when she foughtthe clone and he was trying to
use Like gravity common, youknow the move that His grandpa

(13:51):
knew and I like the way he liketry to drive her Through those
multiple floors.
I'm like, bro, you don't seethat In the other shows.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
I think Eden Zero has uh Certain favorite types of
users when it comes to, likemagic or abilities and all that.
Obviously, something beingrelated to dragons is obviously
one of my first favorites.
You know, fire, probably ice, some stuff like associated with
dark even.
But I think, going like withEden Zero, it's a I think

(14:25):
watching Sheiky and you know, going like with eden zero, it's
uh I think watching shiki andyou know, going forward with
that I think it's probably madehim one of my like favorite
gravity users.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Like it's, it's made me like a lot of gravity related
characters bro like he's kindof rivaling, he kind of edging
brago from zatsville for me,because brago was like the main
one to do it when it comes togravity powers.
Like you can name a whole bunchof gravity users, but like
Brago, the way he used gravitypowers was just really

(14:54):
impressive.
Like he was aura farming thatwhole series and Siki,
especially when he like going tooverdrive and all that shit.
Oh, I'll be a cold motherfucker.
I can tell, like I didn't readthe manga yet.
Like if season three is too faraway, I'm like you know what,
fuck it, let me just go aheadand read into the manga.

(15:15):
Like I know a little detailsalready and I'm trying not to
spoil too much.
Like I know some bits andpieces here and there, some bits
and pieces here and there.
So, but I'm like thinking youknow what if season three is too
far off?
I'm like you know, let's justgo ahead and deep dive into the
manga because we're gonna.
We're at a point to where we'regoing to do jiu-jitsu kaisen.
We already did seasons one, twoand the movie.

(15:39):
I think we talked about themovie and at this point we just
got the manga.
So if we wanted to go ahead andget the manga out of the way,
since we wanted to talk aboutthe manga.
Anyways, we're gonna save thatfor halloween.
We're probably gonna do thesame thing with a lot of manga.
So instead of like waiting forthe anime, um to like catch up
to the manga, like fuck it, justgo into the manga.

(16:01):
But spoilers, spoilers, butspoilers, spoilers, spoilers.
But let's stick to Eden Zero, season one and two for now.
Where was I going with this?
Oh yeah, I find it funny howRebecca and Happy are the anime
equivalent of a small timeYouTuber.
Also, happy became a cyborg dueto an accident and can

(16:23):
transform into dual blasters forRebecca to use.
Rebecca got good atmarksmanship because of
first-person shooter games andshe also discovered that her
ether gear, while bathed on aship firing a blast of light,
eventually evolved into CatLeaper, to where she was able to
kind of eat through time, Iguess you could say.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
That's an overpowered ability she has, I mean going
from moves and then to justleaping through time and stuff.
Yeah, that's already enough ofan OP power there.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Hell, yeah, I also like Weiss's either gear Machina
Maker to where it essentiallyjust Manipulates your technology
.
That's like one of my favoritePowers, you know, just
Manipulate technology to where, like you know, like um Technus
From Danny Phantom, but you know, proficient yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
I love, I love his ability To like.
Every.
Every time I would Read to like, you know, or even Just watch
the anime, any really and I seehim and it's always a movie
arsenal.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
I would think, like what was his uh hero name like
when he like put on the suit orwhatever?
What he called him arsenal.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
That's right yeah, I kept getting like so much like
gundam vibes slash, like allthese other have been like so
much like gundam vibes slash, like all these other man, it's
like dude he's.
It is pretty awesome, like Imean, especially when you have a
power to manipulate technologyand, depending on the era you
live in, and if technology isalready at the peak of its

(17:59):
height, you basically just havethe advantage as always, like
how advanced technology isliterally scales to how powerful
you're going to be oh yeah, ohyeah, and let's just say I'm
kind of working on an originalstory based around that, but uh,
I'm not gonna give away toomuch now.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
I busted out laughing in episode four when she keep a
friend at pino, then turned torebecca and said you can still
be my side friend.
I'm sitting like, oh, y'allmake it sound like y'all like
dating, but platonic how do youlike side friend?
how are you?
Oh, you know what?

(18:45):
This bitch, rebecca, has aB-cubing rival called Labilia.
That really gets on my nerve.
The kind of B-cuber that'ssuper popular, but a total bitch
, whether it's like online or inreal life.
And to a degree, every time sheshows up I'm like bro, bro, I
just want somebody to punch herin the face.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
You know, she, she, she was really annoying like
dude I.
I think she's definitely, I'dsay a lot of people probably
agree to that.
Yeah, every time she's on thescreen, it's, it's just
obnoxious oh yeah, uh, youngwife is an interesting character
.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
I already mentioned his uh, ability, machina maker.
Uh, I love the design for edenzero andrew companion, which
like what can I say?
I'm a simple guy sometimes.
Uh, pino was designed to be thesuccessor of the demon kings
four shining stars.
Uh, there was a secret door inthe ship with code 3173, which

(19:52):
is a reference to Ellie fromRavemaster, because in
Ravemaster Ellie was like aclone of a woman, a very
powerful woman, and like withinEllie there's like this power
called ethereum and you hearethereum a lot and the machine.
Well, first, and I just thoughtit was kind of interesting

(20:16):
because I'm like I saw, uh, thatcode now like three, one, seven
.
Oh, I got that reference.
Uh, I love the idea of machineshaving a heart in this series,
like he was saying earlier, hero, where it's like uh, shiki will
present machines and humans andwhatnot, aliens and whatnot,

(20:38):
because he believes thatmachines are people too.
You know they have feelings andwhatnot and you can kind of
tell From them too.
I like Jim the Cyborg ninja guy, hell, yeah, I was saying like
that boy looks nice, not gonnalie.
Okay, episode 9 I'm gonna behonest with you, hero, like I

(21:06):
was watching this show right, and then you told me it gets
kind of dark and I was sittingthere like, oh, okay, well, you
know, I'll probably prepare forthat, and not too long I get to
episode nine, I'm like damn, Isee what he's talking about now,
because Rebecca and some of theother BQers gets kidnapped with

(21:26):
intentions to be sold to acriminal on a plan full of
criminals, and it was like ahuman trafficking analogy could
be made there and I was like, yeah, you know.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Yeah, because I was like when I was reading through
that mess I was like I wasthinking like, yeah, fairytale
certainly had its dark elementstoo, but when it came to Eden
Zero though, it's like, nah, eden Zero had that outclassed.
And even when it came to theyou know, I'm just saying when
it came to the power offriendship, there was a certain
episode where that didn't work.

(22:03):
That didn't work.
That didn't work.
I bet anybody who watched thatfor the first time or even read
it, were probably thinkingthey'll find a way to bust out
of this.
Some miracle will happen.
Right, it did not happen, itdid not happen, wow.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Yeah, I guess they had to smile a little for the
anime.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Yeah, and I actually, even though I didn't watch the
whole season two like theanimated version, I looked up
the YouTube clips here and therea bit because I wanted to see
how they did some of thecritical moments with people
like Dragonjo and I can Iremember her name?
There was homera's um mother.

(22:51):
Uh wasn't her name, madamkurina, I think.
I want to say uh, hold on.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
I'm trying to think, um, I had kurina, yeah, yeah,
like there was with her.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
I'm like jesus christ , like it's Koronai, Koronai,
yeah, yeah, and like there waswith her, I'm like Jesus Christ,
like it's.
You're not kidding about howdark this gets, and then when
you get, yeah, like.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
I mean it had my Look .
I reviewed Redo Appealer withKokugatsu a while back and he
asked me A question whathappened in episode 2, where he
was like did you think theprincess Deserved what happened?
And I'm sitting here like ICan't say Ooh, um, I can't say

(23:49):
what a clear con is like I'mhaving moral that she deserved
it.
But I will say this much I didnot feel bad for her yeah, I
didn't watch.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
I didn't watch your anime, but I definitely know of
the infamous um little clips andmoments that people make memes
out of too, from that anime redoof healer and yeah, and then
going into all the kinds ofstuff that kareem I got into uh,
that was just plain.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
Because here's the thing, hold on, let's backtrack
a little bit.
First, homura, let's talk aboutthe daughter first.
First of all, with Homura, she's kind of a weirdo, you know
.
She likes to think out loud toa fault, like a great example of
oversharing.

(24:48):
But I do like her EthergearSoul Blade.
Now her whole thing was she hadValkyrie, one of the four
shining stars, and Valkyrie wasmore of a mother to Homura than
Kuro and I ever was, because youknow Kuro and I ever was,
because you know Kuro and I uh,abandoned Homura when she was

(25:09):
young and whatnot.
Crazy enough, irene from fairytale was better than Kuro and I
in this one, because at leastwith Irene is like, okay, she
was kind of a bitch, but in away she kind of redeemed herself
, even going as far as helpingwendy um in fairy tales.
So I'm like, okay, well, irenewas kind of a bitch and she

(25:33):
almost went there trying topossess urza um for the sake of,
you know, preserving her youthand whatnot.
But Like, nah, no, with Kuroand I the crazy thing is Kuro
and I Killed her husband Just togain power and all that other
shit.

(25:53):
And once Shiki and the gang tookher down and Homura Was like
Showed her that doll, that Kuro, and I gave her.
And she was like do youremember this?
And I was like I don't knowwhat the fuck is that.
And I was like do you notremember the only thing you ever

(26:13):
gave me?
and I was like really I gave youthat shit and I was like,
alright, check this out, I canforgive you, but I also never
want to deal with you ever again.
So get the fuck up out of here.
So he runs away.

(26:36):
And Kuro and I was like thatdumb bitch Like you really think
I'm going to like.
And then that one dude, cedric, you know the dude that got his
face burnt off, I think he gotburnt off and he like hit her
with the bat and I was like, surprise bitch, remember me,
we're going to have some funwith you Once again.

(26:59):
I'm not saying she deserved it,it, but I didn't feel bad for
her.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
It's like it's like she had some form of karma
coming.
It's like I can't say if shedeserved it either, but it's
when you do things like that,it's like you won't.
You won't go through it.
Through it easy, uh, going downthe line like sooner or later
you'll get punished for this, which way or another right.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
Moving on with my other notes, we see one vcuber
revealed that her videos arefake and scripted, which could
be an analogy on how someyoutubers in real life operate.
You know how you will have someyoutubers like, okay, say, for
instance, I've been going onyoutube and I can tell that
there are some foes that woulddo reviews, so to speak, of

(27:49):
anime like what we're doing.
But you can kind of tell thatit seemed like an ai voice and
it's like just reading off ascript and whatnot, and I feel
like it feels kind of genius, but in a way it's kind of lazy,
in a way that I can't reallyrespect it like, if anything is
like how we're doing it now, towhere at least it sounds like

(28:12):
we're really, uh, talking aboutit like instead of it sound like
we're super scripted.
That's my main thing.
I don't like doing scriptedepisodes.
I honestly try to do ravemaster and, uh, farmagia
scripted, but I I wasn't evenfeeling myself doing all that

(28:34):
shit, so I'm like fuck it, I'mjust gotta speak from my heart,
speak what I gotta say.
If I don't have a whole lot tosay, then that's just it.
But with eden zero, I got abunch to say.
So bear with me.
Uh, sister looks like a nun buthas a potty mouth.
Uh, once again the racialinsays is involved in this story
, but they're back to being badguys.

(28:58):
But you know before, for amonth they were good guys.
In this one they're still badguys.
But you know before, for Amadouthey were good guys.
In this one they're still badguys.
I like the inclusion of videogame culture playing an integral
part of the series, withoutovercomplicating the plot, like
you know, with jokes and whatnot.
I did like that.
A reference to Ichiya fromFairytale can be seen in

(29:22):
episodes 13 and 19.
Blue, the carrot-nosed dog, andthat shaky horse makes an
appearance In episode 13,.
I thought it was funny.
You know the video game episodewhere Weiss chose a female
character, which reminds me ofTyler's preference of choosing
female characters.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Yeah, Dude, you never get that, but almost every
gamer guy does, sometimes withthe option.
It's like we all know why wereally do it.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Herman looks like a recluse, hot to name Miku, but
has a reason for having trustissues with humans.
She was tricked by researchersto develop a weapon, then
tortured and mistreatedafterwards.
I do like how the gang didn'twant to open closed wounds but
to extend their hand offriendship to Herman anyway.
So it's like, in other words, they were like saying hey, man,

(30:19):
you know what, I don't even needto know why you don't trust
humans, just know that whateverhappened, you can trust us.
I like that.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
I'm trying to remember his name.
But, yeah, I know whichcharacter they're referring to,
I just can't remember his nameat the moment.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
I like the way Maria's line is put together
with her elasticity powers.
I appreciate the narrator, xiaoMei, the time oracle, giving
the audience a brief recap andinsight on events as well as
foreshadowing events to come.
She even meets the gang to helpthem locate valkyrie and amira

(31:05):
who the spy who impersonatedhomera.
In a way she kind of lookedlike lucy orphelia with swirly
pigtails.
But you know, afterwards I waslike thinking, nah, not exactly
close.
But rebecca looks more likelucy than this chick does.
But you know, I would think likeand I in a way she kind of

(31:25):
reminded me of lucy.
Uh, I did like how I thoughtwas kind of funny when madame
kura and I revealed that sheplanned on double crossing drake
and joe by essentially sayingI'm not coming for 30, I'm
coming for everything, butdragon joe ends up
double-crossing her by hackingher crimson eye system.

(31:48):
I'm like, ah, this bitchthought she got over on me I
knew like that wasn't gonna gowell.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Like I mean, dragon joe was just the type of guy he
he already gives a vibes towhere it's just like he doesn't
seem that easy to manipulate, like thinking you can just
double cross him.
Guy he he already gives a vibesto where it's just like he
doesn't seem that easy tomanipulate, like thinking you
can just double cross him, whenhe probably already he is 200
years old, like I want to say.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
He gotta have like a little wisdom and smarts, to a
point where I'm like bitch, I'vebeen doing this.
I've been doing this for almost150 years as well.
This ain't nothing new.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Literally been around longer than since you were born
.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
You think I've never been double-crossed before.
This ain't nothing new.
You too, angel from Fairy Tailwas referenced in episode 21.
Uh, kuro and I you know Homer'smother, I mean, genetically, it

(32:53):
tracks.
But a fairly good twist, considering that Kuro and I is
allied with the Ops.
Valkyrie saved Kuro and I fromimprisonment, but the latter
married Baron Mordo and killedhim in order to take his place.
An amazing storytelling stylein episode 22.
Did I forget to mention, did wetalk about yeah, we talked

(33:16):
about how there's dragons andmechs in this series.
So I thought I love that.
You know, I like dragons, Ilike mechs.
So the fact that they had both,I'm like oh, eden Zero, you
just know how to speak mylanguage, don't you?
I?

Speaker 2 (33:29):
need to learn how to immediately draw like mecha-type
dragons.
Now I need to.
I don't know why I haven'tstarted yet.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Me too.
Yeah, check out Hero Pin Dragon.
What's your handle on Instagram?
I know it's something differentit's GallyHero or something
like that.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
It's at HeroArcDragon .

Speaker 1 (33:52):
There you have it.
Check him out on Instagram, check out his artwork.
I did mention Arsenal Verycommon writer, slash iron man
like, uh, nino, the anime bcuberimpressed me with having a
ether gear where I think it waslike he was just like jojo

(34:15):
boxing motherfuckers, I don'tknow.
Okay, okay, you know, iino, Isee you, I see you.
We get a better idea ofRebecca's Ethan Gear Cat Leaver,
like late into season one.
We already mentioned that we doget a fourth wall break Between
Rebecca and Nino, stating that,oh, manga tends to be Better

(34:37):
than anime.
But then Rebecca look at thescreen saying like, but not in
this anime.
Y'all y'all cute for that,y'all real cute for that.
Okay, I see y'all.
Uh, because, not gonna lie, I'mlike I didn't read the manga.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
But yeah, this is like one of those cases with um,
if I had to say the um the artstyle.
Well, of course, the art styleis pretty much relatively the
same with the anime and manga, but obviously there's key
differences between the two.
Sometimes and uh, I know I'mjumping ahead a little bit here

(35:15):
when I say this, but that fightwith track and joe andiki again,
but with Shiki using hisoverdrive, like the actual full
form Now in the anime don't getme wrong it looked really clean,
like, especially with the waythe sequence went, it looked
really clean.
The fight, the moves, it alllooked really good.

(35:37):
But I'm telling you, when yousee the manga pictures for it,
like that's, it's hardcore, likeit looks really just menacing.
You can, you can feel howintimidating that form actually
is.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Oh yeah but I was thinking like, okay, it looks
kind of cool.
But I can only imagine thatwith manga, especially with it
being black and white, it'lllook more menacing because, like
, you're gonna have to make itlook like like once again.
I didn't read the manga, but Ican tell that if you wanted to
make it look really menacing, you gotta let that ink bleed.

(36:13):
It gotta look like that carrotis like bleeding at you.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Yeah you gotta look, you gotta look up a picture of
it, at least Like a mangaversion of it, like, look up a
picture for it and you'll seewhat I mean.
It's very menacing and has thatintensity to it.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
Hell yeah, hell yeah.
Outside of that, I was like mynotes were mainly for season one
, because season one kind ofimpressed me very much.
Uh, season two was very good, but I just don't have a whole
lot to say on season two, justthat the first half focused on
the crew's confrontation withdragon joe and then the second

(36:57):
half focused on, uh, ziggy'ssudden resurrection, uh, and
who's decided to wage war onhumanity.
Uh, similar to fairy tale, there's an element four and eden
zero under the employment ofdragon joe, and you know what.
Ultimately, I'm just veryimpressed by this series.

(37:18):
Can't wait for season three.
I dare say once again, edenzero just might be by this
series.
Can't wait for season three.
I dare say once again, eatingZero just might be my favorite
series in all the MonsterUniverse.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
I have to say the same thing and I think I think
the get around to season three, like pretty much after eating
Dragon Joe and stuff, I wouldsay that well, pretty much what
happened with, I'm like I said, the whole of our friendship not
working, you know that momentwith cheeky and you know his
death, and then what happenedafter with rebecca, I think that

(37:52):
moment and that's a criticalmoment right there, as well, as
um mentioned, with connor, whenyou see his tattoo of Eden's one
, there's like some other littlefactors too, but that's seems
like it to season three.
That's when a lot of these bigthings gets revealed and details

(38:13):
in season one, but it'll justall come back like it'll, it'll
dial back, I'll just say thatmuch wrong little details that
were missed or that'll becapitalized on later, like after
the second half of season two.
That's when it really gets itgoing into the lore a lot more
and things start making sense.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
That's it Okay.
Okay, let's pray that seasonthree comes soon.
For the time being, if I wereto give it rating, I'd say a 9.5
out of 10.
Like I would say a perfect 10.
But it's like, that's just thething.

(38:56):
Like For now, it feels like Ineed to see the rest of the
anime and then see the manga anddo the comparison before I give
a complete review, because, keep in mind, we're pretty much
just judging the first twoseasons and the manga parallel

(39:19):
to it, and once we see how itreally plays out, once I dive
into the manga and see how Ifeel about it, then we'll give
an official rating on it.
But right now, as it stands,9.5 out of 10.
While we wait for Season 3, weare getting an Eden Zero video

(39:45):
game slated for a release onJuly 15th, so let's hope that it
gets enough sales and dropenough interest for Season 3 to
come out relatively soon-like.
What say you, you Hero?

Speaker 2 (40:04):
yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
I'm not gonna lie, I didn'teven know about the video game
for Eden Zero.
I gotta look into that.
I don't know how I totallymissed that.
But shoot, I'm looking forwardto it.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Like I have to look forward to how the gameplay
would be and everything, howthey would do it, oh yeah, with
that being said, that, it I haveto look forward to how the
gameplay would be and everything, how they would do it.
Hell yeah, with that being said.
That's all I had to say on EdenZero for now.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Hero, do you have anything you want to add on
before we close it out?

Speaker 1 (40:35):
Nope that'll be it for me, alrighty then.
Well, I do thank you for beingon the show with me.

(41:24):

equipment like new mics andwhatnot.

So we need better equipment.

(41:49):

may.
