Ever feel the thrill of a perfect cosplay reveal… and the sting of a payoff that never lands? We dive deep into My Dress-Up Darling season two with honest affection and sharp critique, weighing the season’s gorgeous craft against an adaptation choice that left fans salty. We talk about what the anime nails—those luminous eyes, the love of process, the practical cosplay know-how—and why the decision to skip the manga’s confession reshapes the entire emotional arc of the finale.

We unpack the slow-burn argument versus the audience promise: is holding back the relationship a smart way to protect the show’s cozy slice-of-life vibe, or a breach of pacing that cuts the wire just before the fireworks? Along the way, we celebrate standout character moments. Himeno’s refusal to abandon his hobby becomes a banner for creative identity and self-respect. Juju and her sister demonstrate how enthusiasm can soften hard lines around group cosplay. Akira’s quiet admiration for Marin gets context through a family history that explains her reserve. And yes, we laugh through misread signals and “energy drink” panic that almost nudges the couple forward.

If you’re here for anime analysis, adaptation debates, and real cosplay tips—wig prep, tape tricks, fit and structure—you’ll find plenty to take into your next build. We close with grounded ratings, a tempered four out of five, and a sincere wish list: let season three open with the courage the characters already carry. If you loved the craft but wanted the confession, press play, join the conversation, and tell us how you’d fix that final beat. SPEAKER_04 (00:00):
What up, gang?
My dress up darling season twohas concluded.
So let's just go ahead and getright into it.
Uh Semi Phantom, I do thank youfor being on with me for season
two.
And to be honest, I want to sayonce again, thank you for
bringing it to my attentionbecause honestly, I did want to

(00:21):
watch my dress up darling justand just to hear around.
So there was this whole bunch ofthings going on.
But you know what?
With season two being out, Ifigured, okay, I might as well
give season one a chance.
And obviously, I love it.
But matter of fact, uh, to thelistener, you can always go back
and listen to our review onseason one.
But we're gonna talk aboutseason two, to where honestly, I

(00:44):
was really close to thinking itreminds me of Windbreaker, to
where season two felt like itcould have just been the second
core to season one, and y'allcould just mash up season one
and two together, and it wouldjust be one season, that's fine.
But this time around, no.

(01:04):
Because season two has a charmthat I especially like, but
aside from that, it's the usualstuff.
Goja and Kitagawa do all thesedifferent cosplays, they meet
new people.
Uh Kitagawa is developingfeelings for Gojo.
Well, we already establishedthat in season one, but it's now

(01:26):
becoming more obvious that shelikes Gojo for more than a
friend.
But the thing was that Gojo ismore focused on helping her as a
friend.
But I can tell that the way helooks at her when she does her
cosplay, it's like you know, hehas his hobby with making uh the

(01:49):
Hina dolls.
But it's like when he sees PeterGirl on stage with her outfit
on, uh, especially when she wascosplaying as buddy from the
Oran High School Host Club umknockout, which by the way, I
find it funny since Sebbie hereis working on that.

(02:09):
Um he already got it edited andwhatnot, so you want to hear
that soon.
So I thought it was funnybecause, like, okay, team wanted
to do Orin High School HostClub, and I'm like, okay, cool,
I'm cool with that.
Go ahead and run with that.
And then I'm watching theseason, I'm like, what a
coincidence.

(02:29):
But um, there is one thing, atleast one thing, that I want to
talk about with this season inparticular.
But before I even get into allthat, Sebi, I want to hear your
thoughts on season two.
How do you feel about season twoof my dress of film?

SPEAKER_01 (02:45):
So I thought season two was very like it followed
the manga pretty pretty good.
Um, I enjoyed it up until thelast episode.
That last episode,unfortunately, got me
disappointed.
Um, if you haven't read themanga, there's a scene where

(03:07):
they actually confess their loveto one another.
Like, it's full-on likeconfession.
However, it wasn't there.
Like, there were scenes in themanga that that they just
totally cut out.
And when I watched it, I was sofrustrated because I'm like, so

(03:30):
are they gonna do it?
Are they gonna do it?
Nope, they're not gonna do it.
Well, I was happy up until then.

SPEAKER_04 (03:36):
You see, now that now that you see that, that's
why I was wondering, like, dang,I gave my dress of darling
season one uh five stars, andseason two, for some reason, I
was getting a four bobby.
Like, I don't know why.
Like, I was thinking, like, okay, um, I still like it the
same, but why that?

(03:58):
Why am I feeling like it's anine out of ten now?
Like, you know what?
That's probably what it is.
Even though I didn't know that,I'm like, something about her.
I'm like, like, it was almostlike something was missing.
And I'm like, that's what itwas.
Because you know, that's fornow, it's where it seemed like
she was going to uh confess toGojo, but she was like, nah,

(04:20):
instead, uh, uh, you wanna takea selfie?
And I'm like, Kidigawa, come onnow, come on now.
Like, that was the perfectmoment with that sunrise,
sunset.
Um, I don't, I forgot what daytime of day it was.
I think it was sunset.
But, you know, the move was justright and she could have just

(04:40):
gone ahead and said it.
But I I'm thinking my theory, since it's the anime adaptation,
I'm guessing they kind of wantto slow cook that route because
right now it's more about themworking together with the
cosplays.
Now, I am disappointed thatokay, there was supposed to be a

(05:00):
confession at that point wherethere's like they're both
acknowledging that they havefeelings for each other, but
dang, I have mixed feelingsabout it because on the one
hand, it's like I hate that itshould have happened sooner, but
it kind of makes sense as far asthe will they won't they

(05:22):
scenario that we're so used toin the media, where okay, let's
just slow burn the possibilityof them getting together.
That way it'll be moreentertaining to where, like,
okay, uh, we don't want uh themto get into this relationship,
and then you know how I'm sorry,I'm kind of uh going on for a

(05:44):
moment.
I kind of don't want to do aKokiasu, but uh but it's like
it's just coming to me to whereyou know how Disney movies, how
way back in the day, I mean notjust Disney movies, but a lot of
them, but Disney is a primarysuspect or culprit behind this,

(06:05):
where they will slow burn thewill they, won't they dynamic
between the female lead and themale character that she has
feelings for?
It's like you kind of know thatthey're gonna end up hooking up
at the end, but they don't tellyou what happens after they get
together.

(06:25):
Except some cases, like sayMulan, where you see Mulan 2,
you see how Mulan and Shane haverelationship problems, but then
again, those relationshipproblems were being uh
instigated by Moose because hedoesn't want the whole family
thing getting mixed up where allhe gets kicked out if Shane's
family marriage is Mulan, butyou know, they it they worked it
out, but that's beside thepoint.

(06:46):
The point being is that younormally don't see the relate
the couple actually gettingtogether until the series or the
movie is over, so you don't haveto worry about any problems that
you might have uh after they gettogether, and I think that's
what the anime is trying toavoid to where, okay, if we give

(07:08):
them the relationship, there'sgonna have to be some drama to a
point where okay, maybe theyjust stopped working on cosplay
together for suffection.
I don't know.
I didn't read the monga yet.
That's what makes it all sosurprising to me.
But at the same time, it's boundto happen anyway.
So why even delay theinevitable, you know what I'm

(07:33):
saying?

SPEAKER_01 (07:34):
No, absolutely.
I I definitely I understand whatyou're saying.
With with my dress up, darling,we were promised a bunch of like
the scenes from the manga, butunfortunately, um, and this is
coming from I'm in a Redditgroup for my Dress Up, Darling.

SPEAKER_04 (07:53):
It was oh not Reddit, yes, Reddit.

SPEAKER_01 (07:56):
I'm a Reddit girl.

SPEAKER_04 (07:58):
Not Reddit.

SPEAKER_01 (07:59):
Oh yeah.
Let's not go into that, JB.

SPEAKER_04 (08:01):
Let's not go to that.

SPEAKER_01 (08:03):
Um, but it was a lot of people that I've been
talking, it's they state thatthe second season has failed to
meet expectations.
And when I finally got to watchthat last episode, I'm like,
yeah, uh I can see it.
And unfortunately, in myopinion, in this main,
unfortunately, making peoplemad, it has turned into the

(08:26):
biggest disappointment in theanime season so far.
Because the manga it's the mangaends out at a beautiful note.
The last the last um chapter, like the whole ending of this
manga shows them gettingmarried.

SPEAKER_04 (08:47):
Okay, makes sense.

SPEAKER_01 (08:50):
They were they she had they had a traditional
wedding, it was gorgeous.
They had a colored page at theend, it was beautiful, but when
this manga ended, and the animeended because they kind of ended
around the same time, weexpected it to kind of reflect,

(09:12):
and I know some animes tend todeviate from the manga cough
cough black butler, but we'renot gonna talk about that.

SPEAKER_04 (09:20):
Well, we will talk about it next month, though.

SPEAKER_01 (09:25):
Fantastic.
I have words for that, butthat's I have words, but I just
felt disappointed because I wasexpecting to see a scene and I
didn't get it, and as of rightnow, there isn't any future
notice telling them, yeah, we'regonna continue it.
So we're kind of just stuck.

SPEAKER_04 (09:48):
It's like it's a season two curse where you're
like, okay, you got season two.
I'm like, okay, cool.
Where's season three?
I'm like, y'all want a seasonthree?
Like, uh, yeah, like you can'tjust end the anime adaptation
based off, oh, let's take asilver together.

SPEAKER_01 (10:05):
What I literally just finished talking about that
when I um when I did Oran HighSchool Host Club, which will be
out here soon, that ended as a27 episodes, only one season,
and there was only the firstlike 11 books.
There's still more books.

SPEAKER_04 (10:27):
Wait, how many books?

SPEAKER_01 (10:28):
I think like 50, 51.
And everyone's been like, where's the season two?
Where's the season two?
Orange High School Host Clubended at like 200 like nine or
ten.
We're never getting a seasontwo.

SPEAKER_04 (10:46):
Yeah, okay, I see.
I see crazy enough.
This is like, okay, it's from ananime adaptation point of view.
I guess you can say this is howI feel about no game, no lights,
where it's like, okay, seasonone was great.
Where's the next season?
I'm like, what next season?
And then Deadman Wonderland.

(11:06):
Ooh, that still makes me we'regonna talk about that next
month, too, by the way.
But ooh, that one wait, is itnext month or November?
Either way, it's gonna happenthis year.
But ooh, ooh, that made me mad.
Where I was like, okay, Iwatched the 12 episodes, not
bad, not bad.
I read the manga, they not onlycut out a lot of shit that
happens after that, they notonly cut out a lot of shit that

(11:30):
happened before the firstepisode, which is important for
Gonza, the main character, andthe characters that was affected
by the events of the red man,but even worse, that Shiro was
going to admit to Gonza that shewas the red man, but before even

(11:52):
that, it cuts up to oh, by theway, I'm the increase.
What?
Oh, please reboot that shitbecause y'all had no business
ended it on that note.

SPEAKER_01 (12:08):
Yurian Ice is a prime example for that.
That one made me so frustrated.
We got one season, that was it.
We were promised, yep, everyone.
Congratulations, we're getting amovie, we're doing it now.
Two months later, by the way,we've decided to cancel the
movie.
We had everything planned out, second season.

(12:29):
We had a movie, we had OVA, wehad it all for them to go.
Unfortunately, we're gonnacancel everything.
Sorry guys, you guys are stuckfor one season.

SPEAKER_04 (12:39):
It's starting to sound like a January review that
you can take the lead on it ifyou want to.
I don't know about if I'm gonnareview it myself, but like that
sounds interesting.
Like, if you ever do a review onit, like it's it feels like a
January review.

SPEAKER_01 (12:54):
Oh, yeah, ice skating.
Sports animes are a weakness, other than my slice of life
addiction, sports animes, uhcouldn't go no basketball, all
of it.

SPEAKER_04 (13:05):
So you definitely need to collab with uh Mira Jane
more because he definitely likessports anime too.
That's why I'm like, okay, weneed to compile a list for y'all
to like work on, but uh yeah, Ihave mixed feelings about how
anime adaptation be cuttingcorners from the manga.

(13:26):
Like, see, that's why I kind ofappreciate Full Middle Alchemist
Brotherhood, where they're like, okay, hold on, let's go back to
formula, let's be more faithfulto the manga.
And look, look how it is.
It's like, hell, people barelytalk about the original anime
adaptation, but brotherhood, brotherhood is so fucking

(13:48):
golden, and that's what happenswhen you stay faithful to the
manga.
People love that shit.
I mean, granted, they'll knowthe events of happening in manga
because you know they read themanga, but it's like they
appreciate the fact that theanime studio went as far as to
like, okay, let's at least atthe very least, let's not cut

(14:11):
out parts that are likeimportant to the park.
Such as, oh, we were supposed toget a confession, but instead,
we get them taking a selfie witheach other.
I'm pretty sure that phone kindof cracked, like, because the
way he was like blowing in theair, it was like, oh, I really
hope it didn't end up fallingoff that building and she ended

(14:32):
up needing a new phone, but shejust got that selfie.
Like, it's bad enough that she'strying to um go into that photo
booth with him and like, wait,we didn't get a um photo of each
other yet, and then um the boysfrom the class showed up and uh
like oh shit, y'all take apicture?

SPEAKER_03 (14:52):
I was like, you probably like damn.

SPEAKER_04 (14:57):
I kind of fell for Key to go, but it was kind of
funny.

SPEAKER_01 (15:01):
I'm just saying, if we can get a to we have a full
website, um, it's called Best ofAll Anime.
They're the creators of myJoseph Darling.
They created an entire websitewith staff, cast, characters,
music, radio, all of itdedicated to this show.
We couldn't get a confessionscene, just saying, just saying.

(15:24):
We got a whole website, it's gotmovable buttons, you can click
things, you can see pictures ofall the news, all the
introductions, the stories, andit's gorgeous, but we can't get
a full confession scene.

SPEAKER_04 (15:38):
That's another thing, like that's a weird note
to where we can you imagine ifthey did do that, like if we did
get that full confession sceneand they said, Oh, by the way,
no more seasons after this.
I'm like, I don't know, bro.
Um like, see, that's the thing.

(16:00):
Outside of that, I still likethis season, but I am now pissed
off that that's how they endedseason two.

SPEAKER_01 (16:10):
You know, I I would have been fine if like they have
the confession scene, and thenyou know, they have the credits,
and then at the end of thecredits, we just have their
scene of them getting married, you know.
Like, I probably would have beenokay with that type of thing,
not to the point where it'slike, let's take a selfie.

(16:31):
Like, I would have been totallyfine if we got an a little bit
longer of an episode where wecould just see the the wedding,
like a little tidbit of it, youknow.

SPEAKER_04 (16:41):
Yeah, and really what habits where okay, um,
leading up to like in endcredits, it's like you see all
the cosplays he does andwhatnot, you know, kind of like
uh I wanna say then but no, I'mthinking of a different anime,
but like you know how it's thesong is playing, and you see all

(17:04):
the different characters doingdifferent things, and it just
kind of goes off like that.
But then the end credits showthat oh, um, Gojo and Kidigo was
going through all these cosplayevents and whatnot, and they're
killing it and whatnot, and thenit leads up to the marriage,
maybe a kid.
Yeah, I'm like, okay, cool, cool, cool.

SPEAKER_01 (17:24):
In in the manga, that's kind of what happens
almost, is that at the last andfinal um manga like the book, it
shows that they got married, thecolored page, and then it kind
of hinted to them having a kid.
Like it it was gorgeous.
The manga is simply gorgeous.

(17:46):
I just wish maybe maybe just alittle bit more effort in the
last episode.
But again, I totally agree withyou.
I thought the anime was cute, itwas adorable.
I I loved the first season somuch, it was a five out of five
for me.
Coming on to the second season,I was fine, fine, fine.
Up until that last episode, thatdropped me down a little bit.

SPEAKER_04 (18:06):
So I feel uh, but there, oh yeah, before I forget,
there is one thing I definitelywant to talk about.
My favorite part about seasontwo, uh, the male cross-dressing
cosplayer Himano.
Yes, okay.
First of all, I like him, Irespect him, but my favorite
part of this whole season iswhen you get the backstory

(18:29):
where, yeah, he did this for awhile, and he had that
girlfriend, and she was like,What are you doing with these
frilly clothes?
Are you irritating the littlewoman like no?
I won't wear these clothes.
Oh, you think I'm stupid, huh?
Oh, you you expect me to believethat you run around with these
frilly clothes, these littlecute girl clothes, and I'm like,

(18:52):
Yeah, it's my hobby.
Like, I love doing it.
Uh uh-uh, get rid of all thisshit.
You're not gonna be some crossdresser and whatnot.
And then, like, even though hedidn't actually say in the
backstory, but I just love howwhen it's like, oh well, uh,
yeah, she told me to get rid ofthe clothes and whatnot.

(19:12):
She didn't really like it.
And you know, at that moment, you know what I did?
I told myself, you know what,no, I'm not gonna get rid of the
clothes.
In fact, I'm gonna get rid ofyou.
You dumped the bitch.
Y'all like, hey, you know what?
I respect that because he stoodon business when it came to his
hobby.
It's like, hey, listen to thelistener of this episode.

(19:37):
Do what you love, even if peopleare gonna pick on you, or see,
that's what I love about doingthe podcast.
That's why I like doing thisnerd shit, you know, playing
video games, watching anime,whatnot.
Hey, I love it.
I just love it.
And I got picked on a lot forliking anime and playing video

(19:59):
games.
And you know what?
That didn't stop me from keepingon loving it.
I'm just ignoring them.
I'm gonna still rock this shituntil I die.
And you know what funny thingis?
Some of those people used topick on me for suddenly liked
anime and they playing videogames.
Oh, oh, oh, now you see.
Now you see.
All right, Ben.
But it's all good.

(20:19):
Like, point being if you lovesomething, stand on business for
it because you can't have thisweak foundation to where you can
just throw away what you'resuper passionate about just
because one person disapproved.
I'm like, it just tells me youdon't have enough passion in

(20:42):
your spirit if it's that easy, just throw away something that
you claim you love.
Like, I'm sorry, like I justsee, like I don't know about any
of y'all, but like I just can'tstand the idea of being in a
relationship or in a marriagewith someone who's not cool with
me being this nerdy.

(21:05):
Like, I'm just gonna look at youlike, hey, I guess you just
knocked them off for me.
Because there's a lot of nerdygirls out there that probably
appreciate me.
I mean, we might be a littlecompetitive as far as like
certain interests and whatnot.
Like, you know, like uh if wehave the sing interests or like
playing video games, and oh, shejust had to be better at me at
certain video games, but I heardsomething the shit out of her in

(21:28):
other video games.
Hey, that's just gaps that wefill with each other.
It's like sometimes she's betterat me at some things, sometimes
I'm better at her at somethings, but we're not that
competitive with each more likeuh healthy competition, you
know, like kind of keep the uhrelationship alive outside the
bedroom, you know what I mean?
Because that's another thingwhere I can't stand the idea of

(21:51):
I'm sorry, I'm ranking again,Sevy, but uh uh I hate this idea
of how men and women can't evenbe friends.
Like, I don't like that.
Like that just tells me, youmean to tell me y'all don't have
anything in common with eachother to a point where oh, the
only reason why y'all even fuckwith each other is because y'all
kind of want to smash, or ifyou're uh already smashing or

(22:14):
not, like you know what I mean?
Like it's almost like y'alldon't even treat each other like
friends, even when you're in arelationship.
It's more like, oh, well, youknow, she kind of or he kind of
fills a void that I was missing,and I'm like, uh-uh, nah.
Like, see, I gotta have I gottavibe with my girl outside the

(22:36):
bedroom.
Otherwise, I might as well buy Imight as well get Isakai into
the apothecary diaries world andbe like let me let me find a
concubine that'll entertain me.

SPEAKER_01 (22:50):
I was gonna say, if we don't goon together, then I
don't want it.
And I don't want if if if wedon't have like I'm not saying
we gotta like have attractionover the same things, but if I
can't go and say, man, thatanime girl has giant boobs, and
we're both looking at it, Idon't I don't want it.

(23:10):
Because I have to say, therelationship me and my husband
have are kind of almost similarto what um Gojo and Maren kind
of have.
He's kind of you know, the shyawkward type of dude.

SPEAKER_04 (23:27):
Not like my type of dude.

SPEAKER_01 (23:29):
And then you have me, who's I've cosplayed before.
I've I've got the weirdestinterest ever in life.

SPEAKER_04 (23:37):
That makes sense now you bring that up because think
about it.
It's like the introverted guy ismarried to the extroverted girl.
That makes sense.

SPEAKER_01 (23:45):
Oh my gosh, that is so this I always want to go out,
I always want to go do stuff, Iwant to go to festivals, I want
to go hang out with people, andthen he goes, I'll just set up
my computer playing video gamesall day.

SPEAKER_04 (23:56):
Yeah, that sounds about right.

SPEAKER_01 (23:57):
You can go out, and then when I'm like, but I want
to go out with you, and thenhe's gonna go, Well, I guess I
can go with you anyway, and thenhe's just kind of on his phone,
even though he's trying to havea good time.
Oh but he just he just has hehe's kind of an introvert loner
type of dude.
So if he just comes out with me,I don't really care.

SPEAKER_04 (24:16):
Just just tell him, okay, I don't know dude like
that, but like if it's like anyother relationship, there's two
words that will have him on histoes.
Just say you're going on a girltrip.
Because uh uh uh like what youmean you're going on a girl
trip, right?
Because usually that's uh Imean, not to say, not to make

(24:40):
any implications, but if youwant him to go somewhere with
you, I'm like, oh fine, I'lljust uh go out with the girls,
like what hold on, like whaty'all doing?
Because, like, you know, sometimes your friends just be
having you doing single peoplethings that you're not supposed
to be doing.
But I'm joking.
I'm joking.

(25:02):
I'm like, I'm just saying it'slike you want them to go with
you on something?
I'm like, oh well, fine.
I'll just go with my girls andlike maybe have some fun.
I'm like, what's the gonna do?
I I don't know, I don't know ifI trust y'all since the point.

SPEAKER_01 (25:16):
I normally just say you I'm going people watching,
and he goes, All right, let'sget in this car.
Let's go people watching.
Yeah, so we can we can just sitthere and go, why did that
person wear those types ofshorts?
I don't like the way their hairis, just kind of judging people
for no reason.

SPEAKER_04 (25:33):
Imagine him like staring at you really close to
your face and be like, You likewhat you see?

SPEAKER_01 (25:42):
Not gonna lie, he's done it before.
Oh my gosh, I just imagined himdoing that.

SPEAKER_04 (26:00):
But yeah, um, about my grips of darling, what else
about it?
Oh yeah, um, I did think it waskind of cute when uh Juju, uh
Juju, uh, I forg I don't forgothow to pronounce it.
I think he's pretty much Juju.
But, anyways, uh Kidegar wasgonna invite her to this whole
coffin group cosplay thing, andI like that iconic where she as

(26:24):
mid-sentence, Kidigal was like,Would you let it join?
No.
I'm like, What thing?
Like, you didn't even let me onfinish my sentence.
But then the sister comes along, and then she was like, Oh my
god, you doing popping cosplay?

SPEAKER_03 (26:42):
That's so amazing! Like, oh, the different outfits,
blah blah blah.

SPEAKER_04 (26:46):
And then Yuji was like, Nah, I said no, because I
ain't with that shit.
Like, it was one thing the onetime in season one, but I ain't
really with the whole groupcosplay stuff.
And then the sister was like,Oh, okay, I'm sorry, my bad.
And then she's just looking, just looking all devastated, and
then that just made Juju feel soguilty.

(27:06):
I'm like, why are you looking atme like that?
Don't stop looking at me likethat.
Well, I I ain't doing it, likeyou can't make me do it.

SPEAKER_01 (27:16):
Okay, surprise.
She convinces her anyway.
Yeah, bro, not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_04 (27:25):
It's like, dang, like, it's just hard to say no
to that cute thing to where likeshe just seems so happy doing
all this shit, and then Juju'slike, damn, I can't I just I
just can't stand to see her atall.
It's like she's more like yougotta protect her uh at all

(27:48):
costs, you know.
The cute character, you know, like protect her at all costs,
such characters.
Oh yeah, like you gotta protectthat small at all costs.

SPEAKER_01 (28:00):
Protect her at all costs.
But uh St.
Jan is so cute.
Oh my gosh, I love her eyes.

SPEAKER_04 (28:08):
Uh that's that's another thing with the anime.
Well, once again, it's mainlythe eyes that gets you like it's
that's the thing, like my dressof darling, it kind of plays out
like almost like the a normalanime, like the running mill
anime, but they they do such agood job adding necessary, well,

(28:30):
not I won't say necessary, butmore like added detail to
certain elements at the righttime.
Like when Kita Garr was gonna doher cosplay as buddy from the
knockoff for in high school uhcosplay, and then she looks at
Gojo uh telling him that she'sgonna win, and you can see the

(28:54):
eyes like shining and sparklingbright, and just like, you know
what?
I believe you.
Like they add great detail whenit counts, and that's what I

(29:19):
like about it.
Like, you have all thisattention to detail and these
minor details, but oh sure, let's gloss over the confession
scene.

SPEAKER_01 (29:31):
Exactly.
You have their artwork isgorgeous, it's beautiful.
The eyes they pop out, everything about it, the little
sparkle details in the hearts.
But I can't get a confession.

SPEAKER_04 (29:44):
Even the opening and ending scene were pretty cute,
like fairly cute.
Yeah, but I'm like, you can'tget that press 16 off.

SPEAKER_01 (29:57):
Alright, then I'm salty.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm salty.

SPEAKER_04 (30:02):
Uh oh yeah.
Uh one more character.
Uh the girl that was doing theOC characters.
Like, not gonna lie, I kinda uhblanked out for her art, but all
I know is that she just did notwant to be anywhere near Kidigo.
And I forgot why.

SPEAKER_01 (30:18):
What was what was the reason why again?
Uh I wrote it down my notes.
Hold on, so sorry.
So many new.

SPEAKER_04 (30:26):
I'm trying to figure out what was her deal again.
Like, she was perfectly fine umworking with Goja up until she
saw Kidigo, and all of a suddenshe's like, oh, she's like kind
of clammed up, like she justretreated to her shell and
whatnot.
But when Kidago is not in theroom, oh, she opens wide up
again.
And I'm like wondering, oh,what's the deal?

(30:46):
Like, what's going on?
Like, you got some history withKidigo?

SPEAKER_00 (30:50):
Oh my gosh.
I'm still looking for it.

SPEAKER_04 (30:57):
Oh good.
Oh my gosh.
I did think it was kind of cool,uh, where it's like it wasn't
completely original, but I likethe whole Yakuza vibe that I was
getting from her where she waslike wearing a hoodie and the
katana.
Like I thought it was cool, justyou know, I just thought it was
kind of weird that she just didnot like Kiligo, and we just had

(31:22):
no uh prior knowledge of why shedidn't want to be near her.

SPEAKER_03 (31:28):
But um, what else about this anime that I like?

SPEAKER_04 (31:32):
Um well, that's but oh wait, wait, wait.
Uh Juju with her two friends, like they also reinforce the
same thing with Himano to wherehey yo, like people are gonna
love anime and manga andwhatnot.
And if you come across peoplewho make you feel bad about life

(31:56):
and what you like, then maybethose people aren't forced.
And I'm like, you know what?
I fuck with that.
Fuck with that.
I do.
Still looking.

SPEAKER_00 (32:09):
Yes.

SPEAKER_01 (32:11):
I really am.
I wrote because I wrote so muchinformation down.
I knew I was gonna have a lot totalk about.
So I kind of wrote the way Iwrite things down, is like I
write a character, what theirbackground is, and then I go
into like who's their favorite, like what their like
relationship is.
So I'm trying to find whatcharacter this is.

(32:39):
Cause I'm blanking.

SPEAKER_04 (32:40):
Um I'm trying to remember her name.
Uh Akura.
Wait, no, is it Akura?

SPEAKER_01 (32:47):
That's the that's the person that was helping them
make no yeah, it was the one tomake proper.

SPEAKER_04 (32:53):
No, okay, it's not her.
You found it.

SPEAKER_00 (32:57):
Um yes, Akura Ogata.
Yeah, her yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (33:09):
Marin and Akura didn't like get along together.
They she always tried to likeavoid her, but it they were like
Akura was a huge fan of Marinbecause of her black Lobelia
coff cosplay.
So she always got nervous aroundher.

(33:29):
But in the end, you know, sheconsiders Marin princess and
buys every single issue of themagazine, I would do the same in
which Marin appeared.
So in reality, she it she wasshy.
She she loved Marin.
I do too.

SPEAKER_02 (33:47):
That's what it was.

SPEAKER_04 (33:48):
Damn, that's kind of crazy because it's almost like
you would think offices wouldattract, but it's like uh she
while she's shy, she's theextrovert in this situation.
Like Kid Joe is the extrovert inthis situation, and it's almost
like dang, I don't know if I cankeep up with the energy though.

SPEAKER_01 (34:09):
Well, she's all um I can't always had that um silent
type because of her childhood.
Her parents threw away her mangain anime even and um that it
made her go like silent becausethat's what her dad did.

(34:30):
So she just moved away fromeverything but still stayed that
quiet personality.

SPEAKER_00 (34:38):
So that's her at now.

SPEAKER_04 (34:44):
Oh, uh something that did happen uh between
episode nine and ten, where uhGojo was getting prepared for
the coffin cosplay event andgoing as far as buying a bunch
of energy drinks uh to beprepared, but Kidigawa thought

(35:08):
he was buying aphrodisiacs, andthat was so funny.
She thought, oh, he is heplanning on making a move on me,
and then he came to find out,oh, it was just regular uh
energy drinks, and he was reallytrying to play and beat coffee,
and then now she's like, Oh, sohe wasn't interested.

(35:34):
Okay, and then like the nextday, she just gets to a
depression and tries to hide itfrom Gojo.
I'm like, oh damn, like she shereally wanted to too, but it was
like, oh dang, like I'm startingto get depressed that he doesn't
want me like that.

SPEAKER_01 (35:56):
But she's determined.
No matter what, she'sdetermined, she's determined to
confess her love that we did notget.

SPEAKER_04 (36:06):
That made me mad because that's the honestly,
that was the last moment Idefinitely remember.
Well, aside from the Ashwaldcosplay event, like I remember
that much with the uh dinnerwhere uh GUG was having a hard
time looking at the fact thatshe was, even though like it was
just like props, like it wasn'treal, but it was made to look

(36:27):
real, where it's like theeyeball and the blood, like it's
supposed to be edible orwhatnot, but she was just like
just can't stand gore that much.
So and she did not, she was notprepared for the other half of
what happens in Calvin.
So like the rest was like asurprise, but yeah, like I
remember that much where shefelt a little rejected that oh

(36:53):
like, so what you don't want todo, like but almost like um,
like you never gave me likethat's another thing.
Like, Kidagarwood was so good athiding the fact that she had
those feelings for Gojo that shewas friend zoning herself.

(37:16):
That's what that's kind of themain problem is right now, to
it.
Right now, Gojo is under theimpression that, oh, he's just
helping her with the cosplay, and they're good friends, but
nothing beyond that, maybe alittle attraction, but he's
trying to be respectful at thesame time.
Uh but meanwhile, it's likeshe's being a little shy.

(37:37):
Well, that's the funny thing.
She's so extroverted and likeshe seems so bold, except when
she's trying to confess herfeelings for Dojo.
But that's the only time whereit just feels like she keeps
folding and like doing thewhole, oh, I have something to
tell you.
I'm like, oh, what is it?
I'm like, oh nothing.
I kind of hate that trope, but Ikind of understand where if you

(38:00):
want to prolong therelationship, you uh can't rush
into the relationship partalready.
But then again, if it wassupposed to happen by now, then
yeah, I can understand whypeople would be upset because it
was supposed to happen then.
But I guess now if we do get athird season, we're just gonna

(38:22):
have to wait longer.
Wouldn't it be crazy if we getthe confession after all that?
Like season three just openswith the confession.
Can you imagine that?

SPEAKER_01 (38:35):
That would be so better.
That would be so nice.
I want that.
I want that so bad.
Because and I went back throughmy notes, they do have a kid
together.
Her name is Nikina.
Nikia?
Nikki Nikia, whatever.
They have a toddler, she'sthree, and she's got the

(38:56):
personality of her dad.
No, she looks identical to hermother except for the hair.
She has her hairs like her likeher dad.
But she she got her uh shy traitfrom her dad.
Oh, it's so cute.
I need more of this anime.
Give me like four more seasonsand I'll be happy.

SPEAKER_04 (39:16):
I feel that.
Oh, one more thing I doappreciate about this anime to
where one it becomes moreobvious in this season, but you
kind of do get some insight andsome tips on cosplay itself,
where uh, like for instance, uhuh Himano tells Gojo and Kidigo

(39:37):
you can equip boobs so you cango to this shop that specialize
in cosplay.
And I like how uh the old man uhhe was helping out Gojo and he
was like, Yeah, I'm gonna buythese clothes, please.
And I'm like, uh he didn't sayit with words, but he was

(39:57):
looking like, does he plan onwearing this?
No, no, the Peter is now it's2025.
If a man wants to wear women'sclothes, I'm not gonna tell him
he can't.
But then he the guy was justlike, oh, oh, oh, okay, okay.
Excuse me, I gotta mentallyswitch gears because uh I made a

(40:21):
whole lot of assumptions in myhead.
But no, I kind of like thosekind of things where you can
actually learn something fromthis anime to where that's why
it's kind of goated for mebecause I love anime where you
can actually learn some reallife stuff from it.

(40:43):
Like how uh with the invisibletapes and the straps and the way
you uh tape your uh the bangsdown to the wigs just to make it
look more anime-like.
Uh, I was like, okay, I wouldfeel like, oh, write it down.
Kind of like with uh Deliciousin Dungeons or Food Wars,

(41:05):
whenever it gives you someinsight on how they prep the
food, I was like, okay, let mewrite that out.
But uh you know what?

SPEAKER_03 (41:16):
Yeah, that's all I got for the most part.

SPEAKER_04 (41:19):
Yeah, I still I'm still taking it with the nine
because you saying that we'resupposed to get professional,
that's why I keep thinking, like, why do I feel like
something's missing from this?
Like some like it's justsomething's making it shy from
that five-star treatment I gaveit last time.

(41:41):
But yeah, I still stand by thatfour out of five stars, that
nine out of ten that I gave it.

SPEAKER_01 (41:47):
I'll go for a four out of five, too.
Still disappointed, but it'sstill a really good anime that
I'm not gonna deduct so muchpoints of it.
If they give me a confessionscene, hopefully in season
three, it'll probably go up.

SPEAKER_04 (42:03):
Alright, well, that's all.
Well, is that all you got forthis season?

SPEAKER_01 (42:07):
That's all I have.

SPEAKER_04 (42:09):
Alright, bad.
That is it for our review on myJoseph Darling season two.
Uh, it's unanimous that is afour out of five stars from us.
I do have one bit of nerdy newsthat I want to share, especially
with you, Steve, since I knowyou might love this one.

(42:30):
Uh the Sims movie apparently isbeing produced by the same
people who not only made theBarton movie, but the Lego
movies too.

SPEAKER_01 (42:41):
Yes, I did hear that.
And I'm excited to talk aboutthat and watch it.
Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (42:52):
With that being said, let's just go ahead and
close it out.
Uh, to the dear listener, haveyourself a good morning, good
afternoon, good evening, andgood night.
But ultimately, I want you totake it easy, stay nerdy.
Remember that great things arecoming, and there's gonna be
more nerdy news and reviews inthe future.
So, until then, let's zone upout of here, Zaddy.
