Speaker 1 (00:02):
The 100 Girlfriends who, really, really, really,
really, really Love you.
Seasons 1 and 2.
What can I say?
What can I say?
This is one of the bestrom-coms I've seen in a while.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
And before I get into my take on the 100 Girl
girlfriends, let's see what Sebithinks about it hey guys, it is
Sebi Phantom just coming uphere to go over um, my review
for list of the 100 girlfriendswho really, really, really,

(00:41):
really, really love you.
And first I want to say thisanime is hilarious.
This is a parody anime, in myopinion.
There's a lot of pop culturereferences, there's a lot of
different characters anddifferent personalities and I
just think this is a reallydrawn out, really made anime.
Um, that was.

(01:02):
That was a manga that turnedinto an anime.
I think this is a really goodum take on it.
When I first watched it, fromsub to dub, I first thought that
it kind of was like ghoststories.
If you ever seen ghost storieshow they were told hey, don't
mess with the original, like youcan mess with anything, just
don't do like, don't do theirtake on it.

(01:23):
So they decided to play aroundwith the voices' characters, um,
and at first I was watchingthis anime and duh, but I'm like
is that what happened here?
Apparently not, that's not whathappened, um, but I think this
is, like I said, a very cuteslice-of-life comedy, romantic
harem anime that I don't reallysee in a lot of different animes

(01:45):
and what I watch when it comesto harems, normally they're
isekais.
So when I come up here, Iwatched it and I'm like oh, this
is just a really, really cuteslice of life.
Um, I'm just gonna go over a fewof my favorite characters.
Of course, rantaru.
Rantaru is doomed in thebeginning.

(02:05):
He's been rejected hundreds oftimes, so he strives to be
better himself, each time Due toan error.
Of course, rintaro is destinedto have a hundred soulmates and
he meets, as of right now, Ithink, in the manga.
We are currently at 25.
And they all make a part ofthis group called the Rintaro

(02:27):
family and he goes out of hisway to take care of them and to
me that's boss mode.
Like he takes care of each andevery single one of his
girlfriends.
Um, I know we first meet one andtwo in, like the first episode,
um Hakari and Karne.
Um Hakari is more of a physicalattraction.

(02:49):
Affectionate person, loves to,like show, express her true
feelings, like she wants to behis girlfriend immediately.
Um, karne, of course, is ourtsundere personality and she
struggles, of course, whatevertsunderes do.
Um, she, of course, course, isalso attracted to hakari, and I
think that's what those threejust make everything so perfect.

(03:12):
Um, my all-time favoritecharacter is suzuka.
Suzuka is the third girlfriendand she's very shy, mute, um,
she was bullied by herclassmates, abused by her mom,
but she was a bookworm so shewas able to communicate through
passages.
And of course Rintaro, beingthe loving boyfriend he is,

(03:34):
develops a speaking app so he,she, can communicate freely.
That just proves right therethat he's willing to do anything
.
But I did see in the anime thatshe was able to speak,
sometimes one or two sentences.
Um, nano, she's an emotional,emotionless.

(03:54):
Fourth girlfriend, stoic, um,she's also very fond.
I also think it's funny that weget mothers too.
We have Hahari I say that wrong, I'm sorry Rintaro's sixth
girlfriend and Hakari's mother.
She gave birth to Hakari whenshe was only 13, due to him

(04:18):
falling in love with aterminally ill student.
Knowing that he didn't havelong to live, she artificially
inseminated himself herself sothat she could give birth to
hakari.
Now she adores everything cuteand affectionate and share some
of her daughter's pervertedtendencies.
But she also sees him as likecome here, my baby boy, your

(04:43):
mommy's here to take care of you.
Um, there's also some thingswhere it can get a little bit of
awkward, in my opinion.
So like his seventh girlfriendis a third year middle schooler
who gets hungry very fast, yeah,um.
So right now I think we're atum Meme.

(05:06):
Meme is a shy character whogoes out of her way of being a
background character.
She also needs some littleplushies and she's the shyest of
them all and she's eventuallytrying to become more
comfortable with Rintaro's othergirlfriends.
Um, when I talk about popculture references, there's a
lot of it.
So, like there was a not likeus um reference, there's a lot

(05:31):
of like other anime in the firstepisode spoilers in the first
episode um, uh, he's basicallylooks like tokyo ghoul and the
god is like hey, tokyo Ghoulcalled.
They want their ghoul back.
And then one of the lastepisodes, when they were trying
to get Carne's tsunderepersonality back, they were all

(05:55):
dressed up as Dragon Ballcharacters.
So there's a lot of pop culturereferences and I just think
that makes it a lot betterbecause they're referencing to
outside um.
So, yeah, this is one of thebest animes.
I'm excited to see all the restof the girlfriends.
I've pretty caught up.
I've seen um past 11.

(06:16):
Um, we do get a bit on thetaboo side, but, please, this is
a really good anime, so Irecommend it to people that are
okay with taboo slice of life.
Um so yeah, if we ever get moreinto it, I'll probably write a
blog about each girlfriend andgo from there.

(06:38):
But yeah, this is subby phantom.
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Cool, cool, very good , sebi, very good.
Now my take on it Great artstyle, especially with the eyes.
A slew of rom-com cliches,real-world references, a fourth
wall breaks that swing frombeing genuinely hilarious to

(07:05):
kind of tired out, likesometimes those cliches kind of
grated on my nerves, but therewas like some genuine humor that
I did like.
I'll get into the referenceslater now.
What did kind of throw me off?

(07:25):
How there was Friend A, likenot to call too much attention
to it, but you can tell it's aparody anime when it's being
called out that they're calledFriend A and they're not
supposed to be part of the storyfor that long anyway.
So what the hell.

(07:48):
But getting to the plot, areyou telling me that the god of
love accidentally assignedRenterro 100 soulmates when
given a movie review?
Like he was so distracted bythe movie, he loved the movie so
much that he actually wrote ahundred down on rentals.

(08:12):
You know paper application,whatnot?
Thinking it was a written scoreof it.
And I'm like bro, how the fuckdo you even do that?
Now, the one thing that didtrip me up was the part where

(08:33):
they said not everyone isdestined to have a soulmate.
Now, yeah, I'm like bro, likeit'll happen when it happens,

(08:54):
but like y'all can't keeppushing me into a relationship
that I'm not really ready for, like not to say, like you know,
I'm scared of commitment, like Iwould love to be in a
relationship.
It's just I'm trying to getmyself together first and it's
kind of true to where, like, really like, there's just

(09:17):
someone out there where they'rejust you're just destined to be
with them.
In real life, I don't thinkit's that easy.
Like it.
It may look that way, butsometimes your soul may come
kind of late in life, or maybeyou already passed by your
soulmate and you fumbled it orwhatnot, who knows.

(09:41):
Like you know how some folkssay that, oh well, check your
friend zone.
I'm like, honestly, I don'teven think their friends don't
even exist, because the thing iseither be their friend or just
leave them alone.
You know what I'm saying.
But let's get back to thereview.

(10:01):
Rentero, solid dude, like he'snot one of those indecisive oh I
don't know what dude kind ofprotagonist.
No, this dude stands onbusiness, on every girl that he
encounters, doing right by them, and he, he almost thought about

(10:23):
being a two-time, but like, no,no, no, I can't do that.
I, I gotta do right by them.
So I'm thinking like, how doyou feel about a polyamorous
relationship?
And with every girl it was likeyou know what, whatever,
welcome aboard.
But it wasn't always that easyBecause, you know, some of them

(10:46):
did have their reserves On beingpart of the group.
But Aside from that, you know, they were like this cool, the
idea of as long as Rintarobelieves that he can handle it,
alright, let him handle itAlright.
Speaking of which, in seasonsone and two we were introduced

(11:06):
to Eleven.
So far we, seasons 1 and 2,we're introduced to 11.
So far we got princess thickums, hakari.
We have sundare karane.
We got bookworm, that's shizuka.
We have the valedictorian,that's nano.
We have the pusher, woman,kusuri.
You know also the kim girl.
I'll explain that one in a bit.

(11:27):
We have queen thickums, whichis hakari's mother, kusuri.
You know also the Kim girl.
I'll explain that one in a bit.
We have Queen Thickens, whichis Hakari's mother, hahari.
We have the foodie, kurumi.
We have Rainbow Eyes, meido.
We have the tomboy, iku.
The prima Donna, mamimi, yeah.
And we have Bang's uh Meme.

(11:50):
Or Mimi, whatever.
Those are the main girls in theharem.
But there's some sidecharacters that I'm gonna call
attention to, like, for instance, this scary-ass-looking vice
principal that French-k kissesstudents as a disciplinary

(12:10):
action nickname solid thehedgehog, and I'm like, okay,
what the fuck?
oh, good lord and then she'sbecause mother, kind of a real
bitch in my personal opinion.
The chem girl, low-key, made aBreaking Bad reference I am the

(12:36):
one who knocks and also her trueform reminds me of Rhea's
Grimery in a way.
They did have this one episode, the Resident Hazard Kid Zombies
episode.
That's probably one of myfavorites as far as like general
shenanigans and that's kind ofthe thing that for the most part
the episodes are like thetypical tropes but their own

(13:01):
spin to it in a way that'sentertaining in its own right.
But Resident Hazard is honestlylike one of my favorite
episodes in the series.
Uh, harry, she did remind me ofmother gothel from tangled in a
way like very controlling ofher daughter at first, but

(13:23):
there's reasons behind that soI'm not gonna hold her.
And then when she fell in lovewith Renterow it was like she
went from Stone cold girl bossWith a soft spot for her
daughter To this Big kid thatwants to be A mother figure to
all the girls.
And Renterow to an extent Ilike her, but you know it's

(13:46):
weird.
You know, because she's a grownwoman having a relationship
with not only a high school boybut a high school boy, that he's
a chairperson, like she's onthe on board of directors for
that school.
So it's like that'sinappropriate in two ways, but

(14:07):
at least she's aware of it.
So I'm like, okay, at leastthere's self-awareness in that.
But personally, queen thickumscan get it from me, but I can't
say I condone the wide the AIDSgas thing.
You know what I'm saying.

(14:29):
When we got to the food eatingcompetition there was this one
guy, chonko, right when he waslike this big sumo-like guy.
But it turns out he was just askinny dude in a robot suit and
when I got to that part I was.
I just can't help but be likethat one red headed dude from

(14:50):
Family Guy that was justharassing people, talking about
he's a phony, he's a big fatphony.
And uh, oh right, mado, herrainbow eyes look something
straight out of Demon Slayer, almost in a scary way, not like

(15:14):
it scared me, but like the onlytime you usually see her eyes is
when she's like not laughingand Renteru had to like trick
her into doing that.
And it's like they look good, but like at the same that.
And it's like they look goodbut like at the same time they
look like some of the straighthot seats I think they made a
reference to that too, but Idon't know.
There was like a whole bunch ofreferences that I can't keep up

(15:37):
with all of them.
One that I did notice wasKurumi the foodie making a
reference to Kendra Lamar's TV.
All with mustard on the beat, bro.
I like whoa.
I was not expecting that.
And then there was a whole epicspeech in the season two finale
where rentro was telling thegirls what he loved about all

(16:02):
the girls and it just went onand on to where I was like she
right, like these girls lovethis man and this man love these
girls.
And it's just wonderful.
I loved it.
I am highly anticipating season3 and on I'm giving it the 5

(16:28):
star treatment.
I loved it.
I'm addicted to it.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
I don't know anything else.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
No, no, no.
I loved it, but that's all Igotta say.
Go ahead and have yourself agood morning, good afternoon,
good evening, good night.
Ultimately, take it easy, staynerdy and remember that great
things are coming.
