We often pray for breakthroughs while overlooking the small warning signs that lead to spiritual breakdowns. What if your delay or defeat isn't because God said no, but because you've refused to fix what you could?

• Small repairs equal big problems when ignored
• Faith requires action – James 2:17 reminds us that faith without works is dead
• Unchecked habits become strongholds that lead to pride and resistance to correction
• What you tolerate will eventually dominate your life
• Movement leads to miracles – the ten lepers were healed as they went
• God won't do for you what you're refusing to do with Him
• Acknowledge God in all your ways, and He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:6)

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Most people don't crash because of the big
problems.
They crash because they ignoredthe small warning signs.
A slight leak in the roof rightOver time, that equals out to
be a collapse in the ceilingright.
A loose screw, a worn out tireon a car oh, we've all

(00:27):
experienced this in some kind ofway.
Spiritually, it's no different.
What if the delay, the detour, defeat, wasn't because God said
no, but because you refuse tofix what you could?
Let's talk.

(00:55):
Welcome back to the SoulFuelpodcast.
Listen, it's been a long time.
This is the pit stop for yoursoul to be fueled for your
journey in life, as you do itwith Christ.
Listen, this episode is adiscussion and a conversation
that I believe has the potentialto really help each and every
person out who chooses to takeheed to these words.
Right, we always pray for abreakthrough while overlooking

(01:18):
the disobedience in our habits, and it's always the small habits
that have the ability to causeus to go down this path of
falling that is painful andcauses us hurt, causes us pain,
causes us money spent, literallyliteral money spent.

(01:43):
Right, you want to go and dothings the way that you want to
do things, you want to grow infaith, but you ignore the cracks
in your character and when thebreakthrough doesn't come, you
say I'm waiting on God.
I'm waiting on God, buttruthfully, he's waiting on you.

(02:03):
I think this is a veryimportant conversation, why?
Because we need to understandthat there is power in the minor
adjustments.
There is so much power in minoradjustments.
I'm going to bring up thisscripture and some of you might
be sick of this scripture.
Honestly, I don't see how youget sick of scripture, but this

(02:23):
is my favorite scripture and Ihold it near and dear to my
heart, and those of you thathave been listening to the
podcast or heard any sermonsthat I preach or Bible studies
that I may have taught you knowthat I'm going to quote me some
Proverbs, chapter three, versesix in all your ways,
acknowledge him and he willdirect your path.
Another translation says alwaysacknowledge him and he will

(02:45):
direct your path.
Another translation says and hewill make your path straight.
Right, you got to understandthat sometimes it's not a major
breakdown and most of the time, before we get to the major
breakdown, it's always the minor.
It's always the little, smallthings.
It's the low oil in the engine,it's the like I said in the

(03:08):
intro the small leaks that arecoming out of the ceiling, right
.
But that oil change though, ifyou don't change, if you don't
change the oil and your engineis dry, it's going to blow out,
it's going to be over, it's over.

(03:29):
You're going to need an entirecar, a new car, you're going to
need a new engine.
This is necessary to understand, even when it comes to a ball
tire on a car, because a balltire leads to a blowout.
I don't know about you, butI've definitely experienced it
with the older cars that I'vehad growing up.
Right, driving so much on atire where it becomes ball, it

(03:50):
starts treading and you don't goand get the tires rotated.
Eventually, you know, you canfeel it in the way that the car
is running, the way it's rolling, the way that it feels when you
hit certain things, and all ittakes is that one right movement
, that one piece of pressure, that one issue to roll over, and

(04:14):
you're on the side of the roadhoping that you have the spare
in the back with air in it and ajack so that you can pump it
with no problem.
Right, it's the same with ourspirit, it's the same with our
souls, right?
We cannot afford to ignorethese small repairs, because

(04:35):
these small repairs equal bigproblems.
Small repairs are simply habits, their decisions, their motives,
their attitudes, and you haveto understand that you cannot
afford to neglect the smallrepairs, because neglect leads
to regret.
In order to make the smallrepairs, you have to do this by

(05:02):
this key ingredient and numberone thing, and that's faith.
Right, faith requires action.
James, chapter 2, verse 17,says "even so, faith, if it has
no works, is dead being byitself".
You can't believe God for abreakthrough when you don't take

(05:25):
any action.
You can't believe God for abreakthrough while disobeying
his instructions.
He literally gave usinstructions through the word on
how we can win.
Someone prays for provision butwon't work.
Someone prays for provision butwon't budget.

(05:45):
Someone prays for provision butwon't budget.
Someone prays for provision butwon't ask for help.
These are the faith actions youhave not because you ask not.
And when you ask, you receivenot because of your motives.
So you have to check yourmotives.
You have to again fix the smallrepairs.

(06:09):
Making a move in faith doesn'tmean doing everything.
It just means that you do whatyou can.
You do what you can.
Stop waiting on God to do whathe's waiting on you to respond
to.
Why to do what he's waiting onyou to respond to.
Why?
Because there are dangers whenyou do not fix these small

(06:32):
repairs.
There is the danger of smallcompromises and there is a
danger to small compromises.
There's a book of the Bible that, I'll be honest, I haven't read
a whole lot of, but, um, Ithink it's necessary to to
really get, uh, what's there andto really understand the

(06:53):
purpose of this particular book.
But as I was reading andsearching on this topic
biblically, I find this bookthat hardly we ever I've never
really heard, probably have, butI haven't really heard anybody
really preach from this book andthat's the Song of Solomon,
right?
The Song of Solomon, chapter 2,verse 15, says catch the foxes

(07:15):
for us, the little foxes thatare ruining the vineyards.
I think this is super poignant, because unchecked habits become
strongholds.
They become strongholds andwhen they become strongholds
they lead to procrastination infixing.

(07:36):
And then the longer youprocrastinate, the more it
builds pride.
And what happens with this iswhen another fellow brother or
sister tries to come to you andtell you about what you're doing
, you can't really receive itbecause pride starts to well up

(07:56):
and you've procrastinated infixing it when it was a small
problem.
Now it becomes a big problemand you are not willing to do
what it takes to change itbecause you get set in your way
and again pride builds up andthen watch this private sin.
It all starts to build up.
We got to understand this.

(08:18):
Going back to that roof analogyit's, it's, it's.
It doesn't seem too bad atfirst because it's, it's OK,
it's, oh, we just put a bucketunder under that, under the
ceiling.
Oh, the, the, the, the, the oilchange that's needed.
We just go, we just go keepputting oil in it, or you know,
we'll, we'll wait, we'll waituntil next month.

(08:40):
Then we'll wait, then thatmonth comes around, we'll wait,
we'll wait.
But both things are going tolead to a collapse.
The engine is going to be blownout, right, and the roof is
going to cave in because thesmall repairs were not made.

(09:02):
Call out impatience.
You call it out.
I'm calling it out now.
But you have to be able to callit out because you know that
some of you walk away and havewalked away in the past, and me
too, including me.
I have walked away in the pastbecause I didn't see instant

(09:22):
results.
I didn't see the instantresults.
But you have to understand thiswhat you tolerate will
eventually dominate, and that'sa fact.
Let God do what you can't, butdo what you can.
Let me say that one more timeLet God do what you can't, but

(09:47):
you do what you can.
Philippians, chapter 2, verse13.
For it is God who is at work inyou, both to will and to work
for his good pleasure.
You do the small repair, hedoes the deep restoration and

(10:09):
you can count on him to do it.
He does it every single time.
Look at the 10 lepers right inluke, chapter 17.
As they went, they were healed.
As they went, they were healed.
Movement led to the miracle.
So, with faith without works isdead.

(10:30):
You get absolutely zero, zeroresults when you do not move.
But you make the moves that youcan.
You make the moves that, thatthat he leads you to make and
you make the moves that you knowis right.
By communicating to the lord andacknowledging him in all of
your ways, you are praying aboutyour next move when you move.

(10:53):
That is just it's communicationand people say I need to pray
about it.
It's not always asking forpermission to do what you know
how to do, to do what you aresupposed to do, but rather it is
communication which isincluding him, because he
delights in the details of ourlives.

(11:15):
Acknowledge your path to him.
Acknowledge your path to him.
He straightens it.
But ignoring him just puts youon a detour.
It puts you on a detour.
God won't do for you whatyou're refusing to do with him.

(11:38):
One more time, god will not dofor you what you are refusing to
do with him.
So can you make the repairstoday?
Huh, the shop is open.
This is a shop.
Right now.
This podcast, the Soul Fuelpodcast, is a shop, and it is

(12:00):
open, and the community oflisteners are here for you.
It's open, right?
So here's a quick checklist,and here's something that I want
you to do as homework.
Right?
Don't come to another episodeuntil you do this.
What's one habit you need toconfront?

(12:21):
You know it.
What's one habit you need toconfront?
You know it.
Ask yourself what is one habitthat I need to confront and then
answer this question what's oneinstruction that you have been

(12:43):
ignoring?
Are you going out too much?
Are you watching too muchtelevision?
Are you trading gospel musicfor the word of God?
Are you listening to too muchgospel music and not more than

(13:06):
you're reading your word.
Where have you been waitingwhen God told you to move?
Where have you been waitingwhen God told you to move?
Have you been waiting behind atree covering yourself with fig
leaves?
Have you been waiting behind atree covering yourself with fig

(13:29):
leaves?
Or have you genuinely beenwaiting where you're supposed to
be waiting but have not reallygotten an answer because you're
misunderstanding the smallrepairs that you're supposed to
make?
So, listen, I'm gonna end thisepisode with a prayer and we're

(13:51):
gonna say father, we come to youin the mighty name of jesus.
We ask that you help each andevery listener.
Help us lord, where we haveneglected the small things.
Lord, where we have neglectedthe small things, where we have
neglected to repair and makechanges to the small things that

(14:12):
we have control over.
Father, we pray that you wouldshow us how to obey in the
little, so that you can trust uswith much more.
Lord, we yield right now toyour wisdom, to your perfect
will, and we let you know thatwe are ready to move forward.

(14:33):
Come on, somebody, say thatpart with me.
I'm ready to move forward inJesus' name, amen.
Listen, I pray.
You got something out of this.
I pray this was a good talk foryou.
I want you to win.
I really do.
I want you to win.
I always want what the Lordwants and you should want what

(14:53):
