Speaker 1 (00:01):
Good afternoon and
welcome to everybody.
The podcast which sharesstories that highlight people in
life, that make the world aninteresting place, which
ultimately ties us all togetherin unique and wonderful ways.
And who am I, you might ask.
I would be the headwrappedsocialite Weith mom,
(00:23):
micro-influencer in the fashionand etiquette world, but on this
podcast I will be introducingyou to some people who I've had
the opportunity to meet along myjourney, who have helped enrich
me in my life in beautiful waysand who I hope will do the same
in yours.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
I got the sweetness
from the two Krispy Kreme glazed
donuts so you can imagine Idon't know if you ever had a
fresh Krispy Kreme glazed donutbefore, but the beans fresh out
the oven, it melts in your mouthlike this.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
On today's episode,
my guest is someone that I've
literally known all of my life,my cousin Chase.
He leads quite a fascinatinglife In the realm of family.
He shines as a devoted husbandand father, and he's also a
caring son and always aprotective big brother Within
(01:25):
the world.
Chase tackles complexchallenges as a robotics
equipment technician, but itdoesn't stop there, because he
has created a space for himselfin the digital world as a
vlogger and which, dare I say,he shines.
I am so excited to sit down andtalk with my cousin on today's
(01:47):
episode.
So welcome, cousin Chase, totoday's episode, and can you
tell the listeners a little bitabout who you are?
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Hey, what's happening
, what's good, what to do?
Oh man, I really appreciate theintroduction.
That was awesome.
I knew that.
All the recording myself, yeah, everything that you've mentioned
, and probably a little bit more.
Probably, a husband have a wife, tiffany, and I have a daughter
(02:19):
, marley.
You know they're my life, it'severy day I try to make it
happen for them.
But I'm also a big brother.
I have plenty of brothersaround me, but my actual brother
is Randy, who's a chef, andthen I got my sister, brandy,
who's a music entrepreneur, doesall types of production for the
(02:43):
entertainment industry.
So I work in the roboticstechnician world, which, if
people don't really understandwhat that is, kind of the break
it down is.
I deal with memory chips.
I work micron, one of thebiggest memory suppliers in the
world.
We make all the memory thatgoes into your new cars, your
(03:06):
phones, your watches.
We pretty much provide that.
Yeah, my job is to help thesethings called vehicles transport
memory to different toolsthroughout the fab.
My job is to help keep thoserolling, because we are 24-7,
(03:27):
365, there's no shutdown.
There's cars to be made, there's memory to be made.
It seems a crazy story because Ireally had no idea.
I mean, I know about memorychips and stuff like that, but I
really never thought to seemyself in this industry.
You know, it kind of just fellinto my lap, really.
I got hired as a materialshandler.
(03:49):
So Micron and Manashas theywere building a new fab.
It's like a billion-dollar fabthey were building and I was
supposed to be in charge ofhelping move this material into
the fab and upstairs into thedifferent locations needed to go
.
Well, I guess they really lovedthe work that I was given and
(04:10):
they wanted to keep me onbecause I was contracted on
Before this.
I was doing moving in storesfor 12 years.
That was a lot.
I was a warehouse manager for12 years, but yeah, so they love
what I did for the company.
They really wanted to keep meon.
And then they put me into atechnician level one technician
into the fab.
So I started learning aboutmemory processing and all that
(04:34):
stuff.
So yeah, like I said, I had noidea, but now I'm about two and
a half years into it and, yeah,I can't complain at all.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
How many hours would
you say?
You probably work a week.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Ah, man, so I work
probably about 60 hours a week
because I do a lot of overtime.
I got projects and stuff thatthey allowed me to participate
in and just help further out thecompany.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Wow, so you're busy.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Yeah, I'm always busy
and then in between there,
somehow, some way I find time todo my King Fast.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Next stuff we're
going to get into that because
I'm super fascinated and excitedto share with the listeners
about the other things that youdo.
But before we get into that, Iwant to ask you about your role
as a husband and father, as anadult, adult to adult right, we
grew up together, so it's likethis is my cousin Chase.
Like we, ran around outside.
(05:31):
Now we're in different phases ofour lives and I know that your
husband, your father, yourwonderful son and I know,
through all this time, it'stransformative.
How has your journey throughthese different stages shaped
your understanding of love andalso responsibility?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Honestly, the core of
it all comes from my grandma.
I don't know if anybody reallyknow, but I never have a father.
Growing up I knew who he wasbut he was never really in my
life.
I can honestly say that.
So I never had.
I had other male figures likemy uncle.
Tom recipes to him, but he wasmore or less like my father
(06:13):
figure and he was infallible.
But a lot of it comes from mygrandmother.
You know she pretty much was ahard worker.
She held down the fort.
You know she showed me how tokeep it clean.
You know take care of the houseand just always had
unconditional love.
(06:34):
And then you know my motheralso.
You know they always just showunconditional love.
So a lot of that.
Just I pour that into my family, my daughter definitely, just
to show her that you know youcan do anything, you can be
anything.
And then just being a husband, well, we've been together for 23
(06:54):
years, oh my gosh, yeah, sowe've been married for about 15
years now.
It's been a long time, it'sbeen a long journey and I'm not
even going to sit here and saythat it was all easy and
everything was just increasedBecause, honestly, it did, truly
(07:16):
wasn't.
Somebody say there, well, marriage is and yeah, whatever,
right?
No, I mean it's just hard work, dedication, just say prayed of,
and just trying to work towardsa common goal.
And that's what I love about meand my wife.
We go on the same page with alot of things, you know common
(07:36):
goal in life and then commongoal on how we're raising our
child also, you know.
So think of all the colleaguesthat works together For sure.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Thank you for sharing
that part of your story with us
.
This is where I'm curious,chase.
So this is going to probably belike a three part question.
It might even be a four partquestion.
I'm so curious to hear aboutyour YouTube channel.
How do our listeners go aboutfinding you and how did you make
(08:05):
the transition into the digitalworld as a snacks and food
blogger?
I find it fascinating.
That was a lie, but I'm justcurious to hear about it all.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
It's called King Fast
Snacks Snacks with a Z.
I don't even know why I did itthat way.
I just want to be different.
I'm a FAT Snacks with a Z.
That's on my YouTube channels.
My Facebook is the same name.
Now my Instagram is King FastSnacks official because I had
some.
Never mind, I'm not even goingto get into that.
(08:37):
I was about to call somebody aname but somebody hacked my
account and got it there andtook everything.
I never could get it back fromInstagram process because they
send us a picture of you that ison your account and make sure
that it looks like you.
(08:57):
I sent them a picture of me andthey're like you don't match
your account.
I'm like it's 500 pictures onthere of me.
What is wrong with you?
I lost a lot of followers onthere, but on my Facebook I'm up
to 17,000 followers.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Almost 17,000.
If you just Google that, I meango on YouTube, just type in
King Fast Snacks, it'll pop upreally quick.
I have quite a few videos onthere.
How do I get into this?
Throughout the years, I'vealways just been into weird
foods and stuff like that.
The crazy thing is is somethingthat people told me that I got
(09:35):
from my dad.
So Interesting, right.
So I've seen food creators, digital creators, all of that
stuff, and I just tell myselfone day I'm going to just do it,
like people always said, I'vehad a nice sense of humor, I'm
not camera shy.
And then I always finddifferent snacks, whether I do
(09:56):
it on purpose or I just happento find it.
And then one day, think aboutfour years ago KSC came out with
the Krispy Kreme chickensandwich.
So it was two.
It was two Krispy Kreme donutsas a bun and you got the little
(10:17):
chicken in the middle of it.
And, yeah, my fat self went andtried it and I just recorded
myself doing it.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
What does that taste
like?
Speaker 2 (10:29):
You get a sweet
savory taste because you got the
sweetness from the two KrispyKreme glazed donuts.
So you can imagine I don't knowif you ever had a fresh Krispy
Kreme glazed donut before butthe beans fresh out the oven is
like it melts in your mouth likeair.
And then you have your chickensandwich where it has all this
(10:49):
flavor on it cheese, and that'sjust kind of like the savory
part and that combination isjust ridiculously good.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
And this is why you
are a kink fat snack.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
And I just put it out
there.
I just jumped out there and putit out there and I got a good
response from it.
And then, slowly but surely, Ijust started doing pictures,
doing videos and then, once youstart getting I know for me I
started getting inboxes ofpeople who really loved it, and
a lot of it was during thepandemic era, so people were
(11:22):
just going through stuff andthey were like man, we love your
videos, it's keeping us happyand we just love your channel.
So I just kept going and justkept doing it after that and now
where I'm at, I got a long wayto go, but that's pretty much
how I got into it.
People will send me differentfoods to eat to try or find.
(11:46):
The main secret is I don't eateverything.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Okay, that was my
next question.
So I'm like you put out a lotof food.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
One I can't afford to
.
You know I don't get sponsorsand all of that stuff just yet.
I like everybody else to getstuff sent to their door.
I will be there soon, but a lotof the stuff I'll go out and
I'll go food shopping orwhatever, or maybe I'll just in
the area let me just see whatthis place has in there and I'll
(12:17):
just let people know what theyare or what it is where the
location is at.
But a lot of food I do try, butno, I don't eat everything,
because people are always likehow are you not 500 pounds?
I'm like Because I don't eat alot.
Honestly.
You know I work out when I canand I play back floor here and
(12:40):
there, but I don't eateverything.
I just can't afford to.
I would be 500 pounds if I did,and there's no absolute way.
I'm doing that Because you saidMarley had a soccer and I got
to keep running around afterthis show.
That's it.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Exactly, exactly.
What do you find the mostfascinating thing about what you
do?
Speaker 2 (13:00):
I think for me it's
just the responses that I get
from other people.
I try to be the first to find, you know, just things that are
all the different snacks, foodsor whatever.
And I know one time I had afrozen waffle.
Whether it's cinnamon toast orcards might have been that.
It was something, but it waslike four years ago and
(13:21):
literally two million peopleliked the picture, Like, and I
was like, wow, and I've had afew of the like two, three
million people actually like mypicture, like my status, and I'm
like this is crazy.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
So you know, so you
put the waffle a few times.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
There's a few times,
just a few times.
Well, you know, but I just likethe feedback.
It's more fascinating gettingpeople's feedback and then
seeing where everybody is from.
Like I can see you know littlestatistics of people that's from
Africa or Canada, just all overthe world.
That just you know, like mystuff, you know, you know, and
(14:02):
then just the dumb questionsthat I get.
I think that's kind offascinating too, because that
you know.
Honestly, I know people aregoing to listen to this.
Sorry, I'll be ready to cutsome of the people on my page.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
So where do you find
the time to do all this Chase,
Because you work 60 hours plus.
Where do you find the time tomake content?
Where do you find the time togo and find different foods?
When do you have time torespond to all of your viewers?
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Like I rarely sleep,
Like my sleep schedule sucks,
you know, I probably get threeor four hours of sleep and then
I'm on the move.
Yeah, it just during my how.
It ain't on the way to work, itcould be during my break and
depending on how my picture goes.
You know, if a thousand peoplerespond on there, I'm definitely
(14:52):
not responding to a thousandpeople.
I'll give you a broad response, but just throughout the day I
mean I stay kind of busy for themost part.
You know how the algorithmstuff is.
Man, you got to keep puttingstuff out of it Eating that
machine.
Yeah, it is pretty good you know, but you know, I squeeze it in
(15:12):
here and there, you know Right.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Now I know that
you've shown Marley a couple of
times, like she's a part of yourvideo vlogging.
Has Tip ever wanted to be apart of it, or she's like?
Speaker 2 (15:23):
I'm good.
Yeah, she's the backgroundproduction manager.
Yeah, she's always been thatperson.
You know and you can tell someof the videos.
You go back and watch them.
You'll see either my eyes orMarley's eyes paying attention
(15:43):
to her because something didn'thappen or whatever the case may
be.
But yeah, she's definitely notNow Marley.
Yeah, she's ready to jump backin action and, you know, get
back on the scene and make ithappen, because she'd be doing
her own little videos.
It's funny because when sheimitates me, it's like the
cutest little thing.
(16:03):
Man, I'm like this little childis crazy.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
That's awesome and I
love that you gave her the name
Princess Fat Snack.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Yeah, there was a
little princess there.
She ends up all the snacks.
She just you know she does whatI do.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
So for sure, you're
so many me.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Absolutely,
absolutely.
It's just I never played soccerso, like I said, I don't know
where she got that from.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
So right Right, right
Right.
She has to look, she has towant up you somehow.
Yeah, that's what.
That's what our kids do.
I think that's what they're,that's what they're supposed to
do.
Absolutely you know, get us outof our comfort zone.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
So, in the world of
digital creations, there's a
unique voice that digitalcreators and content creators
have.
How would you describe yourcreative voice and what is the
message that you hope to conveythrough your blogs and your
videos?
Speaker 2 (16:57):
I think my message is
like I know I have a real
impact or influence on my fansBecause when I put out stuff
they'd be like, oh, where's thisat, Where's that?
I gotta go get it, I gotta goget it.
So I appreciate them trustingmy judgment on things, which is
not always right, Not alwaysright.
(17:18):
But my message, you know, Ijust like the spread positivity,
man.
It's just too much negativestuff going on out there in the
world and if I can, you know, apply some type of laughter in
somebody's life for a day.
Or, you know, people get joyout of snacks, man.
I was like people be excitedfor snacks.
(17:39):
So when I post up and they belike, oh, I'm going now, I'm
going to the store right now.
It's in my shopping list rightnow.
You know I enjoy that.
So if I can just have peoplejust look at my channel and love
it, just for the positive andlove that it's trying to spread
out there, and then I'm okay, Ican get a follow a day.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
I'm all right, there
you go.
So I do want to ask, Chase, with life comes our ever
evolving journey.
You share with the listeners amoment of personal growth that
you've had that has beenparticularly influential in
shaping your aspirations andpassions.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
They just probably
have to have an adult definitely
changed me.
Tays away.
I looked at life, pretty muchoperated through life, and she
made me realize what's what'smore important in life period
For her.
It was just when a while Idon't know whatever I wanted to
do, right, you know.
(18:42):
But yeah, just having her.
And then, when you like it'swhen you have a kid.
Then you realize the things andthe frustrations that your
parents went through and whythey went through it and the
pain that I know I've caused theheadaches my grandma, my mom.
You know my child can drive mecrazy sometimes, but just just
(19:08):
after all of that man, it's youknow, and then kind of just
losing people in life throughoutthe way we lost a lot of like
host people to me in the pastthree, four years, you know.
So that's that you know, because that's you know, it
makes you look at lifedifferently all the time.
I felt for me.
(19:29):
No matter what, you know, it'snever the same every time
somebody passed, but it's justmakes you look at life
differently.
So after all that it justchanges me and you know, just
trying to make the best of lifeand have sponsors.
You only live once, you'reright about that.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
It puts a lot of
things into perspective.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
How do you balance
your life with juggling your
family, robotics, your digitalpresence, Because we talked
about before?
I know having online presencetakes a lot of time.
What do you do for yourself togive you that balance within
your life?
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Take it day by day, I
don't know.
Luckily I have like three orfour days off at a time, so I'm
able to at least take one ofthose days.
Some days I won't do nothing atall, believe it or not, I may
make a post or something, butsome days I would do nothing at
all, just to take that mentalbreak away from everything.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
As you can see, chase
definitely has a fascinating
journey.
I would encourage you to followhim King Fat Snacks with a Z
because he is an amazing digitalcreator.
He's an amazing blogger, aYouTuber, he's a sensation and
that couple of things have goneviral Just a couple one, two,
three, four, five.
(20:50):
But it's clear to see that whatChase has managed to accomplish
is just amazing, and thisconversation really reveals to
me the intricate dance betweenyour family and your
professional life, and it alsoillustrates for me how family,
love and career can coexist andthrive within the same space.
(21:14):
So, as we wrap up today'sepisode, I am grateful for this
opportunity to explore yourjourney and thank you for being
so open and sharing your lifeexperience with not only me but
the listeners.
I hope you found this episodeinspiring.
I thank my cousin Chase forbeing here and, if you didn't
(21:34):
know already, because he kind ofdropped an Easter egg in the
very beginning, chase's birthdayfalls with Halloween.
Happy early birthday wishes,kaz.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Thank you, I
appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Yeah, as this
interview is officially over, I
want to ask you, because I knowyou have something special in
the works for Halloween as faras like king fat snacks Can you
give me and the listeners just asneak peek of what exciting
snacks that you have coming up?
Speaker 2 (22:03):
I don't really know
you.
I can't really give you all nottoo much.
I will say this though I cangive you this, if I mean I'm
probably going to do it anywayor not.
But if the Phillies win tonight, you know we're supposed to be
in the World Series, correct?
Today is game seven, so I'msure that it is win tonight.
(22:23):
I do have another video Ididn't want to drop.
There is Reese's frozen fruitthat's out, so I haven't posted
about it yet.
There you go.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Okay, so you heard it
here If the Phillies win
tonight and this episode willpost a couple of days from now,
chase, but if the Phillies winwe're going to look for this
video, and what we should do islook for the sentence episode,
because you know they probablyalready predicted if the
Phillies were going to win this.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Yeah, you know what?
You're absolutely right.
I'm going to go on YouTube andcheck it out.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Love you so much, Kaz
.
Thank you for joining me onYouTube.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Thank you.
