SPEAKER_04 (00:00):
Battle of the GOATs,
stat for stat, LeBron versus MJ.
SPEAKER_02 (00:04):
I don't think LeBron
will survive in the 90s.
LeBron is a machine.
Look at this guy.
He's a physical specimen.
How can you say he would notsurvive in the 80s?
SPEAKER_04 (00:15):
Let's say that MJ
started a little bit later in
his season and he's actuallyplaying right now during the
LeBron era.
Do you think MJ would have GOATstatus?
SPEAKER_01 (00:23):
Beyond the GOAT
status.
From where you're talking, Remy, you don't seem like you know a
lot about basketball.
You're saying that.
How do you say that, bro?
Because he's saying that thedefense from the the 90s is not
the same as now.
None of the best players hasever said that they're the GOAT.
The only one who ever's donethat was LeBron.
And that's why you're getting alot of heat on your ass.
(00:46):
But you don't, again, you don'ttake accountability.
You point the fingers.
SPEAKER_04 (00:54):
Welcome, welcome,
welcome.
What up, T Hustle?
What is going on, man?
Chillin' my guys.
Been a while since I had achance to chat up with you on
the line here.
Raymond, don't call him Ray Ray.
What up, player?
Slide up a little closer to themic, man.
Like, what's wrong with you,man?
You alright?
SPEAKER_03 (01:09):
I'm good.
SPEAKER_04 (01:12):
He is a little bit
nervous, but he's in gear right
now, so I'm really, reallyenjoying it.
Well, I'm your host, Bobby D.
Um, we're here at the podcast, the Tech Outs of Podcast, and we
got a special episode for ustoday.
This is episode number 74.
And we've been holding it down.
Give us a big round of applausefor that, man.
We've been really holding itdown.
Um 74 plus a few.
(01:34):
I mean, we we we we've got we wegot a good track record.
So if this is the first timeyou're here, check out our uh
portfolio.
Welcome, welcome, welcome.
Those that's already been held, welcome back.
You already know how we do.
Um, this is episode number 74,which is titled Battle of the
Goats, stat for stat, LeBronversus MJ.
Give it a round of applause.
Um this is not our normalepisode where I'll be doing a
(01:58):
tech talk and D Hustle becurrent events.
Oh, I forgot to introduceeverybody.
D Hustle, my guy.
What's going on?
All right, Raymond, don't callhim Ray Ray, especially those
that haven't been here before.
Uh, check us out.
Um, but both of these twofellas, uh, during our sports
sections, always have some typeof debate about who is the GOAT,
especially when it comes tobasketball.
Um, football sometimes, butdefinitely basketball really
(02:20):
brings out the good side of bothof them.
They're both special.
Uh so I was like, you know what?
Um, in our last episode, if youuh caught that, I was like, yo,
we should just do an episodethat y'all just gonna get it
out.
Let's talk about sports, let'sreally just make it something
that um, number one, isnoteworthy because y'all pulled
up to check it out, but alsodefinitely uh a chance for you
(02:41):
know the audience to see us talkabout different types of things
because we've been on that techtip for a good minute.
It's not like we're getting offof it, we're just more or less
having some you know, guyconversation.
How's that sound for you,fellas?
Sounds good.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So um let me just go through therules just a little bit so that
everybody's on the page.
I mean, not no rules, but justsome lay of the land, all right,
fellas.
Uh so uh we will be runningthree rounds of questions.
(03:05):
Um I'll be the moderator, and uhI'm not gonna do any scoring
because I was talking tosomebody and was like, oh,
you're gonna be biased becauseyou you and I was like, all
right, all right, all right.
What we're gonna do is we'regonna have three rounds.
I'm gonna give my opinion, butit's not a final score.
We're gonna have the audiencehelp us decide who wins this
battle.
And it's all gonna be in thecomments below.
So definitely make some commentsand let us know.
(03:27):
Even if you just go in there andsay MJ or LeBron, we just want
to hear y'all's feedback.
So don't hesitate to jump in thecomments to let us know who won
this battle.
Uh, but we're gonna have a totalof three rounds.
Um, each person gets about 30seconds to answer the question
uninterrupted, right?
If there is a rebuttal, thenfeel free to go back and forth
in terms of the rebuttal.
Um, and our goal here is to keepit cordial, but don't be afraid
(03:52):
to you know take the gloves offa little bit, man.
We're trying to be entertainedhere, okay, Raymond?
Don't you all right, Raymond?
I'm good.
D D's ready for the battle.
You ever about to go to war, andthen you see the one soldier
right there in the front of theline ready to go, and the other
one's just sitting in the back.
We're like, all right, I guesstoday's the day.
SPEAKER_03 (04:09):
I hope I don't die.
SPEAKER_04 (04:12):
But in general, uh,
we definitely want to make sure
we're having a good time.
We'll do three rounds ofquestions, um, and then we'll
have uh the decision made by theaudience, especially if you're
following along.
Tell your friends about usbecause we need more votes to
come in.
All right.
Give us some cue up music.
I don't know what we got in thecube the other day.
There we go.
My guy, you know what time itis.
(04:33):
If you didn't know, I don't needto do an introduction to my guy
De Hustle, but y'all alreadyknow my guy.
He runs the sports section overhere.
And that intro music is always, always on point.
So thank you so much, sir.
Thank you.
So, um, what I would like to dofirst of all is to um y'all can
do like you know how to playrock, paper, scissors, right?
(04:54):
You know how to play rock, paper, scissors, right?
Let's do rock, paper, scissors, real quick to see who.
We don't need that.
Let him go first?
SPEAKER_01 (05:00):
I'm gonna I'm gonna
let him go.
He doesn't look prepared, so I'mgonna let him go.
SPEAKER_04 (05:02):
Oh, look at him.
He's such a gentleman.
Look at you.
You're gonna either gonna lethim go first?
SPEAKER_01 (05:06):
I'm gonna let him
go.
SPEAKER_04 (05:07):
Alright, so let's
first identify which team is
what team.
D Hustle's gonna be representingMichael.
Oh, Michael Jordan.
And then we got my guy Raymond.
Don't call him Ray Ray, is gonnabe representing LeBron James.
No, no, no.
Come on, D.
Like I you see, I knew this isgonna happen.
I'm having to switch for.
SPEAKER_03 (05:28):
I need to give it on
the switch.
SPEAKER_04 (05:30):
Give him a round of
applause, but see that that's
why I actually came here to atleast have my own sound.
So we'll we'll give Raymond alittle bit.
It's not as massive, but uh atleast some recognition.
All right, all right.
But anyways, uh Raymond Don'tcall him Rain Ray will be
representing baffled right now.
SPEAKER_01 (05:49):
He ain't got no
materials, no information.
It's all right here.
That's crazy.
And he came with a fucking hatand a jerk and a shirt.
SPEAKER_04 (05:56):
He's prepared, bro.
I mean I mean, he's prepared.
So, in terms of uh first personup, Raymond Don't Call Him Rain
Ray will be representing LeBronJames, and that's for the new
age, new era, um, and then THussel's gonna go old school
with it and hold down MJ.
Um, I ain't got no bias, um, butI'm I'm gonna try to stay out of
it a little bit.
All right.
(06:17):
So the first question that Ihave here in round number one,
and there might be somefollow-up questions, um, but the
the main thing that we want touh focus on here is uh who in
terms of well we're not gonnaask.
Based on LeBron James'performance, on average, uh he
scores at his peak how manypoints a game?
Um, and what does that say abouthim in terms of as a score?
(06:41):
First question lined up.
Let's go, Raymond.
SPEAKER_02 (06:44):
Okay, so averaging I
think at his peak, LeBron
averaged about I think heaveraged about 30 points per
game.
All right.
So LeBron was never really knownas a scorer.
He was kind of more of like anall-around player.
So he only won the scoring titleonce.
He never emphasized his game onscoring.
(07:05):
As you know, LeBron likes toshare the ball.
He's an all-around player, sothat, you know, in his peak, he
scored 30 points per game, Ithink.
SPEAKER_04 (07:14):
Roger that.
Roger 31 points per game.
SPEAKER_01 (07:16):
You see, that Dana
says 27 point.
Uh James, so you gave him threeextra points.
SPEAKER_04 (07:22):
D hustle, you can't
give him three extra points.
30, 30, 30, 27, 30.
That's one of the same.
SPEAKER_01 (07:27):
We need he they like
stats.
Uh-uh.
LeBron is changing stats.
Let's give him the real stat.
I got you.
SPEAKER_04 (07:33):
I got you.
All right, so here goes the uhD's rebuttal.
Go ahead with your rebuttal, D.
SPEAKER_01 (07:37):
Uh Listen, uh, 37
points.
37 or 20?
SPEAKER_04 (07:42):
27.
SPEAKER_01 (07:43):
No, no, no, no.
That's that's 27 over there.
Uh-huh.
There's 10 more points overhere.
Ah, okay.
But if you want to get technical37.1s per game, that's 1986 to
1987 scoring averages.
Okay.
Uh, that's through his wholeentire career of averaging.
Now, that's still undefeated.
SPEAKER_04 (08:04):
Undefeated in what
what's still this day.
SPEAKER_01 (08:06):
His record of
scoring points.
SPEAKER_04 (08:12):
Any rebuttal from
LeBron camp?
SPEAKER_02 (08:14):
I have no rebuttal.
Like, yes, like I said, uhLeBron has volumes here.
Wow.
LeBron has won the scoring titleonce, Jordan has won it ten
times, Jordan was a scorer.
LeBron was an all-around player.
SPEAKER_04 (08:26):
So was or is.
Or is.
SPEAKER_02 (08:28):
That's there's no
debating that.
SPEAKER_04 (08:30):
So so if we take
scoring out of it, obviously
there's other things likerebounds, assists, and defense.
Uh, what would you what wouldyou say in terms of LeBron's
performance in those spectrums?
Either of them.
SPEAKER_02 (08:40):
Uh I would say
LeBron has Jordan beat on the
all-around game.
LeBron can play multiplepositions.
SPEAKER_04 (08:49):
All right.
So what's on the table right nowis that LeBron is uh uh an
all-around player that can playmultiple positions.
Um and D, what what do you feelabout that in terms of MJ's
performance being a little bitmore?
SPEAKER_01 (09:00):
Uh Jordan is not an
all-around player.
He is uh basically what happensis that he is the main the holy
field uh when it comes to his uhshooting.
Um again, uh Jordan plays hisposition.
He wants to play all fivepositions.
Who's he?
(09:21):
Uh LeBron.
SPEAKER_04 (09:21):
Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01 (09:22):
Uh there's no need
to be playing a whole bunch of
positions when you're trying tofigure out what you're trying to
do.
You know, if you're a scorer, you're gonna score.
If you're gonna if you're acenter, you're gonna get
rebounds.
If you're a power forward, you're gonna go ahead and bum
rush them and knock them andwhatever to do what you need to
do.
Old school mentality.
I again the ch the game haschanged a lot since uh back in
(09:43):
the days.
Yeah.
You went from a guy fromshooting guard to a to a point
guard to a guy who wants to playshooting guard, point guard, and
all the above.
SPEAKER_04 (09:53):
Who who is that
you're talking about?
SPEAKER_01 (09:55):
LeBron.
SPEAKER_04 (09:55):
Okay, I'm just
making sure we're talking about
the same person.
So the on the table is thatLeBron's broading himself too
wide so that he can't uh have acheckbox in one column.
How do you feel about that,Raymond?
SPEAKER_02 (10:06):
This is if you look
at the NBA now, you have seven
footers that can shoot out thegym.
Nobody wants a player that'sjust could do one position.
Gotcha.
Like you want a multiple player.
You got Kevin Durant, you gotWemby.
LeBron is one of those players, those generational players.
Jordan couldn't do that.
Jordan could only play oneposition.
You get someone in the NBA now, they can play multiple
(10:27):
positions.
So Jordan can't play multiplepositions, he's just a shooting
guard.
SPEAKER_04 (10:31):
So my only question
about that is we did talk about
their peak.
When do you think LeBron peakedin terms of um so we can measure
the errors?
D came up with his scoringaround the 80s up to the 90s.
When was LeBron's peak?
SPEAKER_02 (10:45):
Uh LeBron's peak?
I would say I'd say when he wonhis third chip.
SPEAKER_04 (10:52):
So his third chip?
SPEAKER_02 (10:53):
Yes.
All right.
SPEAKER_04 (10:54):
And I'm gonna do
some research on that.
And the reason why I asked thatis how different is the game
from when he won his third chipat the peak versus where we're
at in the game right now?
SPEAKER_02 (11:01):
I mean, we can't
deny that it was easier when
Jordan played.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
What is that?
No, no, go ahead, go ahead andfinish.
The peak was easier when Jordanplayed.
SPEAKER_01 (11:10):
Uh let me look that
up there for you because it says
here uh Jordan's era had tighterdefense, no defense,
three-second rule.
Okay.
What does that mean though?
Uh basically the three-secondrule is one your player cannot
be in the middle of the wherethe uh where the shack.
SPEAKER_04 (11:27):
This is like the
shack rule, right?
Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01 (11:28):
Three-second rule.
All right, have more physicalcontact.
SPEAKER_04 (11:34):
Why are you
emphasizing that, bro?
SPEAKER_01 (11:35):
Okay, but those like
that, he shot 50% from the field
during those peak years.
Absurd perimeter player in thatera, adjust pace and efficiency.
Jordan is still the elite playeras we speak today.
SPEAKER_02 (11:51):
Yeah.
Jordan was playing withplumbers.
Those guys were like, come on.
SPEAKER_04 (11:54):
He was playing with
who?
Plumbers.
What does that mean?
SPEAKER_02 (11:57):
They're not
athletic.
SPEAKER_04 (11:59):
So hold on, hold on.
During Jordan's era, he wasplaying plumbers, which means
that they the players that theyplayed against were not
athletic.
SPEAKER_02 (12:06):
Yes.
He's not playing Steph Curry,he's not playing Kevin Durant.
Uh-huh.
He's not playing, you know, comeon.
SPEAKER_01 (12:12):
Those are people who
just came out now.
Uh, first of all, you hadshooters like Larry Johnson, you
have passers like Magic Johnson, you have all these other great
players, Bill, uh Bill Russell,Wilt Chamberlain.
SPEAKER_02 (12:27):
Those can't shoot
from the paint.
Like, I mean, come on.
All right, all right, hold on.
SPEAKER_04 (12:31):
Raymond's talking
about shooting from the paint.
What what what do you how do youfeel about um Jordan's uh
ability to shoot?
SPEAKER_01 (12:37):
Jordan Jordan's
ability to shoot is his game was
basically to tell you right nowis get the ball, get it inside,
mid-range, dunk it.
He was never a three-pointplayer, a three-point uh uh guy
at all.
Because that it's just there'sno point for him.
Because at the end of the day,he's just there waiting for the
fucking ball to come to him toshoot a three.
SPEAKER_02 (12:56):
The game has
changed.
You have to shoot threes now.
Exactly.
Back then, he didn't have to.
I mean, it was a good thing.
SPEAKER_01 (13:01):
But Steph Curry said
that.
SPEAKER_02 (13:04):
It wasn't LeBron.
Yes, and LeBron, histhree-pointing has increased.
He's a good three-point shooter,better than Jordan.
Why why would you say that?
It's statistically proven he's abetter three-point shooter than
Jordan.
Jordan was never great at threepoints.
Stat for stat, bro.
You gotta say the stat, bro.
Uh, I don't know the statoffhand, but I know he's his
percentage is better than Jordanwith threes.
Jordan was never a greatthree-point shooter.
SPEAKER_01 (13:24):
Again, I'm I'm the
only good fat I'm gonna give him
today is that he must not havebeen listening.
Again, Jordan is not athree-point player.
He is get the ball, mid-range,dunk it.
SPEAKER_04 (13:38):
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (13:39):
LeBron used to be
take it aggressively to the hole
until he got locked down.
Now he's forced to do threes.
SPEAKER_02 (13:47):
He elevated his
game, something Jordan didn't
do.
SPEAKER_04 (13:50):
You know, you hold
on, hold on.
Let me just make sure I'm clearhere.
So Raymond is saying that uhLeBron had to change the way his
game was to elevate his game.
Yes.
And you said MJ never elevatedhis game.
SPEAKER_02 (14:01):
Yes, at least not
three-point shooting or
shooting.
Yes.
SPEAKER_04 (14:04):
But do you think
that the the game itself has
evolved from when Jordan firststarted to when he actually was
done?
SPEAKER_02 (14:10):
Of course.
SPEAKER_04 (14:11):
So didn't he have to
elevate it his game to maintain
that status?
SPEAKER_02 (14:15):
You don't have to.
I mean, it's I mean, you couldjust be a bum, but he elevated
his game.
SPEAKER_04 (14:19):
Who did?
SPEAKER_02 (14:20):
LeBron.
Okay.
He increased his three-pointshooting.
SPEAKER_04 (14:23):
All right.
Let's go with uh D.
What do you have to say aboutthat?
SPEAKER_01 (14:25):
At the end of the
day, you went from the guys from
the 80s to n to 90s to 2000s toa guy who's just coming into the
league in 2003, changed tryingto change this perspective.
The only thing he's got that hegot out out of high school
directly, being 19 years old,all the way um, didn't go to
college, went to the pros.
(14:47):
Uh, and since he couldn't figureout what the fuck he wanted to
do, passing the ways fromshooting, from driving to the
hole, he shot his threes.
At the end of the day, there'snothing wrong with that.
But that's not elevating thegame.
But you play a tougher defense.
I don't think personally rightnow, I don't think LeBron will
(15:08):
survive in the 90s.
SPEAKER_04 (15:10):
Now that's a good
question.
How do you feel about that?
SPEAKER_02 (15:12):
Uh LeBron is a
machine.
Look at this guy.
He's a physical specimen.
How can you say he would notsurvive in the 80s?
He's 6'9, trizzled, can playmultiple positions.
I mean, he's a man child.
To say that is come on, Darwin, come on.
I think he would be able tosurvive in the 80s.
(15:33):
But not survive.
SPEAKER_04 (15:34):
I'm talking about he
has to his physical ability.
Okay, let's just rephrasesurvival to holding a GOAT
status.
Okay.
Because that's where uh J MJ isat the during that era.
Do you think LeBron would beGOAT status during that era of
balling?
SPEAKER_02 (15:48):
Uh I think so, yes.
You think so?
Yes.
Yeah.
He's a sphical fessing then.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_04 (15:53):
And I'm going to
turn this question to D also.
Let's say that MJ started alittle bit later in his season
and he's actually playing rightnow during the LeBron era.
Do you think MJ would have GOATstatus?
SPEAKER_00 (16:04):
Uh uh beyond the
GOAT status.
At the longevity of LeBron.
SPEAKER_04 (16:08):
I'm just saying D
Hustle's response is
unconditional.
Like, yes, he's gonna be beyondGOAT status.
LeBron's response was uh he'sgonna be a big guy.
I'm gonna tell you why.
I'm gonna give you I'm gonnagive you a.
I'm just trying to make surewe're clear.
SPEAKER_01 (16:21):
I'm gonna give you
an answer to that.
Like I said, back in the day, she's not uh again, the guy has
not looked up.
Uh from where you're talking,Remy, you don't seem like you
know a lot about basketball.
You're saying that How do yousay that, bro?
Because he's saying that thedefense from the the 90s is not
the same as now.
So, what you're telling to meright now, because back in the
(16:42):
days, Jordan was getting hacked, getting slammed, getting all
that.
And can you get away with thatnow?
So that means that gives youguys more opportunity.
SPEAKER_04 (16:51):
But let him answer,
though.
SPEAKER_02 (16:52):
Can can you get away
with that now?
I mean, you can't, but thenagain, I don't want to change
sports.
It's the same thing with NF.
SPEAKER_04 (16:59):
No, no, no, no, no.
We're staying on football.
I'm at basketball, right?
Yes.
He's he's he's saying that basedon the way that they played back
in the days, obviously we weagree that it was harder in
terms of uh the different typeof fouls that they would call.
Yes.
And he's asking, hey, do youthink LeBron would have been
able to sustain that?
SPEAKER_02 (17:16):
I think so.
SPEAKER_04 (17:17):
You think so?
Yes.
SPEAKER_02 (17:18):
All right, you
didn't sound very confident
there, but do we think theplayers from the 80s could
sustain now with the shootingand three points and stuff?
It's now it's a more offensivegame.
SPEAKER_04 (17:28):
I don't think they
could sustain now.
So D, this is the question here.
Um with Michael Jordan being inthe seas in the league now, um,
how would his game have tochange?
SPEAKER_01 (17:40):
I think basically
his game would not change at
all.
Uh to tell you the truth.
Uh, because again, he is more ofa a perimeter slash dunker.
He wants to get it, he wants togo, he wants to do the fadeaway,
he wants to do that, he's not athree-point player.
Uh again, he has done it, but isthat that's not his game.
(18:01):
His game is mostly mid-range,get it, fade away, psych it, and
then go in and slam dunk.
Plain and simple.
That's just his game.
And let me ask you this becauseit takes away from his game.
He said he doesn't want to waitfor a person to wait on the
three-point line for him to waitto shoot the ball instead of
running around and getting theball.
SPEAKER_04 (18:21):
Gotcha.
Now, Raymond, how do you feellike Jordan would have to have
changed his game to maintain aGOAT status?
SPEAKER_02 (18:27):
He'd have to be a
better shooter.
I think he would be a dinosaurif he tried that today.
SPEAKER_04 (18:31):
He would be a
dinosaur if he tried that today.
Yes.
Okay, driving the ball to thehole as you're talking about?
SPEAKER_02 (18:35):
He would not last.
Like he would look how longLeBron's playing.
You have to elevate your game.
Jordan would not last.
SPEAKER_01 (18:42):
Because he's got
locked down going into the hole,
so he couldn't figure out whatelse to do but shoot the three.
Not yes, it makes a lot ofsense.
But if you look up here, sinceyou ain't got no information on
this, I'm more than happy to.
Yes, the defense just definitelyconsidered harder in the 90s
than now.
90s defense were tougher.
I don't know if you see thatthere.
(19:04):
You might have to, you know, getin there.
Uh, but again, uh, these LeBronfriends, you can tell them a lot
of stuff because they get verysentimental.
But uh, I'll just gonna answerquestions here because I got
facts.
I got a lot of facts.
SPEAKER_04 (19:18):
So I guess what
you're referring to is the hand
check rules, uh, more physicaldefense, less spacing, right?
Less space.
Um, based on what um the era ofthe league is right now.
Um now my question to Raymond,um, and this is just kind of
just how do we rebuttal this ishow do you see LeBron, what
would he have to change in hisgame to be able to survive
during the Jordan era?
SPEAKER_02 (19:39):
Uh I I don't think
he'd have to change anything.
SPEAKER_04 (19:44):
So you don't think
he'll have to change anything?
SPEAKER_02 (19:46):
No, I mean obviously
back then, like Darwin said, the
defense was tougher, there'smore hand-checking.
I mean, what does he have tochange?
I mean, I guess going to thehome more.
I mean, yeah, I don't I don'tthink he'd have to change
anything.
SPEAKER_01 (20:00):
I I don't think
LeBron will survive in the 90s
as far as basketball due to thefollowing.
I think his average will be uhlower than the than 27 that we
just looked at over here.
Um I think Jordan's game will befrom his 37.
I think he will score maybe 40to 45 points uh on average, the
(20:20):
way it is uh you know, from thetoughness from the 90s to now.
Uh I think his game woulddefinitely uh you'll see
smoother shots and and uhtechnical uh tough toughness and
technicality, even if I'mpronouncing technicality,
technicality.
SPEAKER_04 (20:38):
Gotcha, gotcha.
SPEAKER_01 (20:39):
Uh from uh my my
perspective.
SPEAKER_04 (20:42):
So uh on the table
right now, what we're throwing
up there is like, all right, wekeep talking about everybody
being in a different era, buthow what kind of player would
have to, or what individualplayer would have to survive in
the other person's error?
Raymond's argument is thatLeBron wouldn't have to change
much.
Uh he would still be making 27plus points a game, um, and he
would still maintain his GOATstatus.
(21:03):
Uh D.
Hustle says, hey, if um Jordanwent to our error, uh, that he
would actually murder this errorscoring even more points because
of the different type of rulesthat allow him to do even more,
but his style of playing wouldstay the same, driving the ball
to the hole and um not shooting.
Do you do you do y'all bothagree in terms of those um final
thoughts on that portion of ourconversation?
(21:25):
Yes.
Yes?
SPEAKER_02 (21:26):
I don't think that
would be sustainable for Jordan,
though.
SPEAKER_04 (21:29):
You don't think that
would be sustainable for Jordan?
Okay.
All right.
So where we're at right now forround number one is that we have
on the table right now twodifferent opinions based on
Jordan, based on LeBron.
So you as the audience member, hearing them go through round
one number one, give us yourfeedback inside the comments.
What do you think was reallyhitting?
What do you think was missedfrom each of the players, I mean
(21:50):
each of the individual um umparticipants today?
Because there obviously is gonnabe even more stats that we can't
really cover all through ourconversation, but definitely
want to give you all a chance tojump in.
So see if y'all can answer someof the questions we threw out
there because we are gonna moveon to round number two.
Um, is what we're gonna talkabout is longevity in this game,
right?
One thing that I think um I'vealways appreciated from both
(22:13):
players um is uh their longevityand being able to maintain a
coat's GOAT status.
Um Raymond went first, so we'lldefinitely give D Hustle the
chance for round number two togo first.
But um, based on your playerbeing Michael Jordan, how do you
feel his longevity um and theleague gave him the GOAT status
(22:33):
that he has right now?
SPEAKER_01 (22:35):
Well, that's easy.
Uh MVP uh scoring champion, defensive player of the year in
the same season.
Uh the longevity numbers is uh,you know, it's gonna basically
help him uh help him out as faras LeBron.
Uh, but my man is more uhdominance.
Uh he retired twice, came back, won three chips back, one, two.
(22:57):
Oh, let me help you out in caseyou need to know the years 92,
93, 94, uh, 96, 97, 98.
The only person that won thatback to back uh in history,
besides the second goat, uhKobe.
SPEAKER_00 (23:14):
Wow.
Um that was that was that wassharp right there.
SPEAKER_04 (23:16):
I think it's a good
one.
SPEAKER_01 (23:17):
Because he's the one
who did it back to back to back.
Unfortunately, he couldn't do itsince he tore his uh ACL, but I
don't know if you remember thatthe day he decided to uh you
know shoot a free throw, twoshots, we're for torn Achilles.
And we're talking about Kobe.
Kobe here.
Black mama, yeah, not the guywho's laid down on the floor
with an eye peeky eye.
Go ahead and just try and lookout.
(23:38):
Um as you can see, you know, some players have played longer,
some of them have not.
Uh again, Jordan only played, what, 18 years?
Um there's not that's not a lot.
I mean, you can't help the guythe guy doesn't help.
He plays sick, uh, he played inthe flu.
(23:58):
He doesn't have he doesn't makeup excuses of what type of
injury uh they have.
Uh I don't know if you know, um11 years out of 14, he played 82
games straight.
And you're talking about Jordan.
Years out of the 14 played 82games.
(24:21):
Active LeBron has done that.
SPEAKER_04 (24:23):
Well, we'll get
there.
We'll get there.
We'll get there.
Um great stats.
In less years.
Uh, and and also longevity forme doesn't just mean the time
that you play, it's also thetime that you leave your mark on
the league.
Um, I definitely feel likeJordan has left the mark on the
league.
Um, but that's just my opinion.
SPEAKER_01 (24:40):
Yeah, because Jordan
is not about stats, bro.
Jordan is basically aboutquality.
SPEAKER_04 (24:46):
But we have to hear
a rebuttal, but not specifically
rebuttal, but standing on yourguys.
So we're gonna throw it back atRaymond is uh for longevity.
Um, how do you feel um in termsof LeBron's performance um for
his length of time um more orless impact his status of a quo
uh uh as the goat?
SPEAKER_02 (25:03):
Uh I think that's
easy.
Just to correct our endorse playfor 15 years.
SPEAKER_01 (25:09):
Yes.
SPEAKER_02 (25:09):
Uh 15 years, I'm
sorry.
LeBron's playing now, going on22 years.
SPEAKER_04 (25:15):
Did you set that up
just so that you could do that?
SPEAKER_02 (25:17):
I did not, I'm just
I'm just asking.
I'm just saying played for 15,LeBron's going on 22 years.
Yes, I apologize.
15 years.
That's okay.
So, yeah.
I mean, that's not even acompetition, and LeBron is still
playing at a high level.
He's still a starter.
Like, I mean, he's not comingoff the bench, he's playing on
22 years.
Wait until he comes back.
Okay, I'll just say Jordan wentfor 15 years.
(25:39):
He was a shell of himself whenhe went to Charlotte.
Like, it was embarrassing.
I wish Jordan retired beforegoing to Charlotte because none
of us wanted to see that.
Charlotte?
Yeah, when he played for theBobcats.
Was it the Bobcats or theCompats?
I don't know.
I thought they were Charlotte.
Uh he played for the Wizards.
The Wizards, I'm sorry.
The Wizards.
Jesus Christ.
So it was he was a shell ofhimself when he went there.
(26:01):
It was embarrassing.
Like, come on.
Jordan should have retired waybefore then.
Yeah.
So longevity, that's not even acompetition or a question.
LeBron's still playing at a hardmark 22 years.
Um, yeah, that's I mean, that'sall I have.
That's right.
That's right.
SPEAKER_04 (26:18):
And before D.
Hustle makes a rebuttal to it.
I will say it is definitelynoteworthy that my guy's still
doing it 22 years and stillballing.
Um, it is obviously uh takes alot of toll on everybody's uh
body to be able to maintain andkeep it up.
Um knock on wood.
I'm hoping that whateverinjuries he has right now
doesn't you know end his career, but uh definitely something
(26:38):
noteworthy.
Now, before we go to the hustle, one thing that I always like to
bring up um in terms of GOATstatus is longevity, meaning
your length of time in the game, doesn't give you a goat status.
What is it in terms of longevitygives LeBron the GOAT status?
SPEAKER_02 (26:58):
For you.
Okay, he's still playing at ahigh level.
He's not coming off the bench.
If he was a bench warmer notproducing, I would say yes, get
him out of here, but he's stillplaying at a high level.
That gives him the GOAT status.
Like, I mean, come on, what arewe arguing here?
This is not like he's stillplaying at he's a starter.
Yeah, he's still producing.
SPEAKER_04 (27:18):
So So his his uh
GOAT status is solidified in
terms of longevity because he'sstill in the game active uh
player.
SPEAKER_02 (27:27):
The moment he comes
off the bench is when he's gonna
retire.
That's not gonna happen.
SPEAKER_04 (27:30):
Gotcha.
Now, D Hustle, your question, same thing.
Based on um MJ's longevity, uh,what would you say uh for the
longevity was his mark becominga GOAT status?
SPEAKER_01 (27:42):
Uh for longevity
being a GOAT status.
I mean, besides having a 6-0championship, uh never played a
game six, a game seven in hislife.
Um less years, something thatLeBron is still trying to chase,
uh, but did it in in a shorterperiod of time.
(28:03):
Um and he doesn't have to sayhe's the goal.
Okay.
SPEAKER_02 (28:13):
Alright, it's more
impressive.
Going to more or less?
Going to more what?
Going to more chips or going toonly the amount of chips that
you went to.
SPEAKER_04 (28:25):
Oh, and I'm gonna as
a moderator, from my
perspective, it's who walks awaywith the chip, not how many
times you go to the chip.
Just my as a moderator, I'm justsaying straight up.
SPEAKER_01 (28:36):
Uh I'm glad you said
let me know when it's my turn,
because I it seems like uh so Ihave pulled up here Jordan
versus LeBron awards.
All right.
Most valuable player, Jordan hasfive, LeBron has four.
Finals MVP, Jordan has six,LeBron has four.
Scoring titles, ten LeBron won.
(28:56):
NBA first team, ten, Jordan, thirteen for your man LeBron
because of longevity.
Alright.
Defense first team, nine forJordan.
LeBron six.
All-star games, fourteen LeBron17.
(29:19):
So as you can see, the 17 hasbeen going up more due to
longevity.
So if you guys want to go aboutstats and and uh that's what I
don't know what more do youneed.
Now, if you really want to gomore into it in depth, this is
where basically all timeranking.
Let's get it out the way.
(29:40):
All right, because I I feel likeI'm prologuing here with my man
Raymond, and it's I I gotsomething coming up.
All right.
All time, total points.
It's the only thing that I'mgonna give LeBron right now
because he's number one as faras longevity.
Total points per game.
Jordan, first, LeBron.
LeBron fifth.
(30:02):
Alright.
Playoffs per game.
Jordan first.
LeBron six.
Scoring title.
Jordan first.
LeBron six.
Are we getting closer to numberone here?
Let me know when you're ready.
Okay?
Now we have finals MVP.
Jordan one.
LeBron two.
(30:24):
Ooh.
I have to give you cudder pointson that one.
All defense player, number one,Jordan.
LeBron fifth.
Player efficiency rate.
Jordan one.
LeBron three.
Playoffs.
Points per game.
Jordan first.
LeBron three.
(30:44):
Wins.
Shares.
48 minutes.
Jordan first.
LeBron eight.
Playoffs wins.
48 minutes.
Jordan first.
LeBron three.
Playoffs.
Per minute.
First.
Jordan third.
Offensive team.
Jordan first.
LeBron second.
Playoffs.
(31:06):
Offensive.
Jordan first.
LeBron second.
Game score.
Jordan first.
LeBron 14.
I mean, what more do you need,Raymond?
Okay.
SPEAKER_02 (31:21):
I mean, can we just
say that, you know, LeBron is
more of a player that spreadsthe ball, and Jordan was more of
a.
We can give you that.
Jordan is more of a like scorer.
He's an assassin.
He's not sharing the ball.
He's not making his teammatesbetter.
That's the difference.
Jordan is just he's a ro eight.
(31:42):
I mean, we can't agree.
Like, it's two different LeBronshares the ball.
He has more assists.
Like, yeah.
Can we agree?
Jordan's mentality is just I'mthe guy.
But if you don't miss a shot, why will you pass the ball?
I'm just saying, of course, he'smore of course who?
He's going to dominate withthose stats because he's more of
a I don't know what the word is.
(32:04):
Like he's more spearheaded.
He's not like he's gonna sharethe ball, if that makes sense.
SPEAKER_04 (32:10):
So uh in terms of
goat status, not team player,
yes, not goat status, uh howdoes being a team player
solidify you as a goat?
SPEAKER_02 (32:20):
It's a team sport.
SPEAKER_04 (32:24):
So as an individual
person at being a goat, if my
team does well, I get the GOATstatus?
SPEAKER_02 (32:31):
Obviously, you know,
you need a alpha on the team.
That's Jordan was more, I'llgive you that.
There's no dominating that, there's no debating that.
Jordan was more alpha thananybody, so that's why he's
gonna dominate Endel stats.
He's not more of a uh spread theball type of player, so he's
just more bullheaded, he's morealpha.
I mean, LeBron is not.
I'm not going to argue that atall.
(32:52):
So let's just get that out theway.
SPEAKER_04 (32:54):
But in terms of
LeBron GOAT status, you still uh
have him over MJ in terms ofGOAT status.
SPEAKER_02 (33:02):
Have an overall
player, yes.
SPEAKER_04 (33:04):
I mean, that's the
debate here, bro.
Yes, yeah.
So, but as an overall player, not an overall team player.
So if you were to say he's anoverall team player, goat
status, I was like, okay.
But you're saying as anindividual player, GOAT status,
and what D just threw at you,uh, your rebuttal was, oh, it's
because he threw the past theball more.
SPEAKER_02 (33:26):
I'm saying I'm
picking LeBron overall.
If I'm starting a team rightnow, I'm picking LeBron.
Got it.
Got it.
SPEAKER_01 (33:34):
All right, I'll give
you more stats.
I mean, that's all I have to dois give my guy more more stats
here.
All right.
At the age of 22, Jordan versusLeBron.
Guess what?
Let's let's do the average.
LeBron, first, Jordan second,okay?
Let's do this first.
22 point game, uh, points pergame, 22, right?
(33:56):
Jordan, 43.7 points per game.
Okay?
LeBron, seven uh rebounds pergame.
Jordan, six point three reboundsper game.
So, hey, shout out to LeBron forrebounds.
Because maybe maybe because he'staller.
Let's give him that.
Assist per game, six pointeight.
All right, LeBron, Jordan, 35.7.
(34:17):
Okay.
Steals per game, one for LeBron,2.3 for Jordan.
You know?
Uh percentage, 35.6, 50.5 at theage of 22.
Now, I'm at age 31 now, becauseI'm doing research here for you.
(34:39):
You need a bar on my computer, bro?
At the age 31.
SPEAKER_04 (34:42):
Just asking.
SPEAKER_01 (34:43):
We even let's let's
even throw uh we can even throw
fucking Kobe in there if youwant.
It doesn't really matter to me.
But Mamba said he ain't notinvited me.
SPEAKER_04 (34:53):
RIP for sure.
SPEAKER_01 (34:54):
Uh 27.3 LeBron point
games.
All right.
Jordan, 32.3.
H31.
Okay.
We got a age 31, right?
2,5, 24, 25,657 points.
Jordan, 21,541 points LeBrontakes to win on that one.
Rebound, 6,716.
(35:16):
All right.
LeBron, I mean, I'm sorry.
Uh that was LeBron.
Uh Jordan, 4,218 rebounds onthat.
LeBron wins on that one.
I'm giving you kudos.
You hear?
Giving you kudos.
I mean, Raymond needs to standon it, bro.
6,476, 6,475 assists.
Jordan, 3,935 assists.
(35:39):
Again, kudos for you.
Steals, 1,595 for LeBron.
Eight, 1,815 steals.
I guess the the GOAT takes theone on that one, huh?
Blocks, 744 blocks.
Jordan, 684 blocks.
(36:00):
And that is 940 games LeBronplayed to Jordan 667 games
played.
And the difference in betweenthat year is 31, LeBron only had
two chips at that range.
And guess what Jordan had?
Three chips.
Alright?
So if you want to go from 19years old to 31, the winner on
(36:27):
that would be Kobe Bryant withfour chips.
SPEAKER_04 (36:31):
Give Kobe, let's
let's give Kobe a big round of
applause.
Black Mama definitely washolding it down.
SPEAKER_01 (36:37):
H33, you want to go
continue?
Let's do it.
11 seasons, in case you guysdon't know what H33 it was.
11 seasons for Jordan, 15seasons.
734 seasons for who?
SPEAKER_04 (36:47):
LeBron?
SPEAKER_01 (36:48):
For LeBron.
734 games, 1,096 games forLeBron.
MVPs, Jordan, three.
LeBron, four.
NBA finals, points per average,three.
LeBron, eight.
NBA titles, three.
Tie it up, three.
NBA's MVP, three, three.
(37:09):
Seven uh first time all-star.
First will be seven LeBron.
I'm sorry, seven Jordan, eleven, how you call it.
Um LeBron.
LeBron.
Alright.
SPEAKER_04 (37:22):
And this is the
33-year-old.
33-year-old 11 already under thebook and 15 under the book for
LeBron.
SPEAKER_01 (37:28):
Alright.
What's this?
15 years.
You want me to get into thisreal quick?
Because I can get into it.
Points per game, 30.
Jordan, 27.
As that's normal, because he,you know, 27.
Yeah.
14 all-stars.
14 all-stars.
Okay.
Six NBA championships toLeBron's three.
Nine all-time defensive playerto LeBron's six.
(37:50):
Three times MVP star.
Guess they match up three andthree.
MVP, five for Jordan.
MVP four for LeBron.
11 time champ.
11 time NBA All-Star.
13 for LeBron.
And uh Rookie of the Year.
1984 to 1985, 2023 to 2024.
(38:12):
I call Capenda because the mainreason I've called Capenda is
because Carmelo Anthony didshould have been rookie of the
year that year because he took abum ass Nuggets team for that
was nobody into a playoffs.
LeBron came that same seasoninto the play into the uh league
and didn't give the Cavs to thefreaking playoffs.
(38:34):
But guess what?
He's supposed to be the chosenone.
So guess what?
For the stats, they gave it toLeBron.
At the end of the day, shouldhave been Melo.
He got robbed for that.
But look, and let me continue tomy normal program here.
SPEAKER_04 (38:45):
Now that explains a
lot to me.
Why he feels this way.
SPEAKER_01 (38:49):
All right.
Total points.
32,292 points for LeBron 31,038.
There it goes for the F season15.
Alright.
So, do you want me to go now tothe age of 38 years old?
This one you might like becauseLeBron is winning in this one.
SPEAKER_04 (39:10):
Well, let's close
out with that.
Go ahead.
What is the comparison?
38 years old.
SPEAKER_01 (39:14):
We still got more to
go.
Go ahead.
At the end of the day, uh one, two, three, four, five, six,
seven, uh, eight, nine, ten.
Uh Jordan with uh out of ten,he's got Jordan uh lost seven
battles out of ten uh forLeBron.
SPEAKER_04 (39:35):
Yeah, and that
that's that's where it's
definitely coming.
SPEAKER_01 (39:37):
And that's when he's
playing with the Wizards.
SPEAKER_04 (39:38):
That's when he's
coming with the Wizards at the
end of the season.
End of his career.
SPEAKER_01 (39:41):
And that's the end
almost at the end of his career
at age 38.
SPEAKER_04 (39:44):
All right, so uh we
got uh some real good stats
there.
Before we go to round numberthree, I wanted to see if
Raymond had a rebuttal um on thestats that were presented.
SPEAKER_02 (39:52):
No, I mean Jordan
pretty much uh dominates on all
of those categories that uh DHustle mentioned there.
So uh yeah, I don't really havemuch rebuttal on that.
Yeah.
So all right.
SPEAKER_04 (40:02):
We are at the end of
round number two.
Some stats were presented.
D Hustle, thank you so much foruh the research.
SPEAKER_02 (40:08):
Anytime.
SPEAKER_04 (40:08):
Um Raymond, uh,
thank you for agreeing with the
research.
Um, but the audience willdefinitely let us know um who
won that round um based on theinformation provided.
And definitely remember whatwe're really looking for is goat
status, not just hey, um, I gotthese chips, but what does it
mean by being a GOAT for theteam?
All right, so the last questionthat we have lined up.
(40:29):
Now, this is gonna be a littlecurveball for the two of you
because you both have beensitting on both ends of the
table.
And we're gonna start off withRaymond this time because De
Hustle went this last round, butum, we're gonna switch the
table.
So let's say that you arearguing that Michael Jordan is
the GOAT.
What would you say was the thingthat impressed you the most by
(40:51):
his performance throughout hiswhole career that gives him the
reason for being the GOAT?
And then D Hustle, you're gonnahave the same question for
LeBron.
We're gonna switch teams now.
So from you, Raymond, don't callhim Ray Ray.
Based on all that you haveobserved, because you come from
the air where we've seen it all,MJ, LeBron, and also Kobe play,
is what do you feel gave him theGOAT status based on your
(41:13):
opinion?
SPEAKER_02 (41:15):
Uh I mean there's a
lot of moments, but if I had to
go back, I would say theJuggernoff Steph Curry team,
whatever that record they had,71-9, or you know, they were
unstoppable, they wereunbeatable.
Everybody marked them off, they're gonna win the chip.
And the Cavs were down 3-1.
(41:35):
Uh, it was a done deal.
And, you know, LeBron came backand brought his team back from
3-1 and they won that againstthat Superman team that
everybody penciled.
SPEAKER_01 (41:45):
And say Superman
team because Draymond Green got
suspended.
I mean, um that's a that's avaluable key right there.
SPEAKER_02 (41:51):
That's my round
here.
Can I just I mean you canrebuttal, but that team was 71
and 9, like they were supposedto be unstoppable.
And the Cavs were down 3-1, andLeBron came back and won.
That's a like goat moment.
SPEAKER_01 (42:04):
Wasn't LeBron, the
one who saved your ass was
fucking Kyrie Irving.
Let's be realistic here.
SPEAKER_04 (42:09):
Okay, that's that's
all I have to say.
So, but that was the momentwhere you were like, oh man,
he's definitely the GOAT.
SPEAKER_02 (42:14):
Yeah, that team was
unstoppable.
Like, you know, I mean, it'scome on.
They were down 3-1, it waspencil, there was a wrap.
SPEAKER_01 (42:20):
So it's funny that
he says that because the same
thing that the interview withLeBron, he goes, That's what
made me the goat right there.
And that's what all his fans aresaying, that's why he's just the
goat.
SPEAKER_04 (42:32):
So being able to
beat the Warriors coming back
after being uh uh down in theseries and coming back and win.
SPEAKER_02 (42:38):
Yes, it's like
statistically almost impossible
for a team to come back 3-1.
SPEAKER_01 (42:42):
Gotcha, gotcha.
All right.
Uh any rebuttal to that?
Yeah, Jeremia Green wasn'tplaying, got suspended.
Kyrie Irvin uh saved his ass thesame way uh Ray Allen saved
LeBron's ass in game uh six whenthe heat he was playing for the
Heat.
I mean, at the end of the day, Iit just just I don't Jordan
(43:03):
don't need nobody to go gut tohelp to help him to win a team.
SPEAKER_02 (43:07):
Uh Scottie Pippen
didn't help Dennis Rodman, Steve
Kerr.
Let him reboot him.
I'm just saying, he's sayingthat Draymond wasn't in there
and Kyrie helped.
I'm just saying, let's notforget.
This guy had Scottie Pippen, hehad Dennis Rodman, he had Steve
Kerr.
Like, I mean, I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_01 (43:23):
Yes, you're correct.
Shout out to those players rightthere.
SPEAKER_02 (43:27):
But we drafted them.
Okay, let's not pretend thatJordan didn't have great
players.
When you say Kyrie and Draymond, let's forgets.
SPEAKER_01 (43:35):
He did.
But when we lost, we don't haveto go look for another player.
SPEAKER_02 (43:39):
What do you mean
LeBron didn't go look for
another player?
SPEAKER_04 (43:43):
So after the after
so he threw something out there
saying after that loss, they didnot go get a new player.
SPEAKER_02 (43:50):
What are you saying?
I mean, is LeBron the owner ofthe team?
SPEAKER_01 (43:54):
No, but he
manipulates uh the the coaches
and the GMs.
And Jordan didn't do that?
I mean, Jordan, I mean, come on.
How many coaches were the LeBronfired?
I'm sorry, what was that?
SPEAKER_02 (44:09):
I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_01 (44:10):
How many coaches did
LeBron fired?
SPEAKER_02 (44:13):
LeBron doesn't own
the team, guys.
Come on.
SPEAKER_01 (44:15):
But at the end of
the day, the coaches want him,
so what they're gonna do isthey're gonna build around them.
So if they say if LeBron says,I'm not feeling good about this
coach, what do you think isgonna happen?
SPEAKER_02 (44:26):
So you're saying
Jordan never made complaints
about players he wanted oranything.
SPEAKER_01 (44:29):
Uh but you're not
asked, I answered that question
once you answer my question.
I asked you how many coaches didLeBron fire?
How many players got tradedafter LeBron didn't want them
anymore?
SPEAKER_02 (44:42):
I think that's just
all speculation and that's just
a coincidence.
SPEAKER_04 (44:46):
You think it's a
coincidence?
SPEAKER_02 (44:48):
Yes.
Okay.
SPEAKER_04 (44:49):
But but in terms of
him leading the team, you don't
think he has a voice in it?
Well, I mean, Jordan has a voicetoo.
Like, come on, you don't thinkYeah, but I'm but I'm saying,
like, if Jordan had a voice, youdon't think LeBron had a voice?
He's the GOAT.
SPEAKER_01 (45:01):
Right.
The only reason Eric Sportingdid not get fired was because
Eric Sporting did not fuckinghave faith in LeBron and Pat
Riley stand behind him.
And since the baby did not getwhat he wants, guess what he
did?
I know.
He decided to leave because theshit that he decided to say he
was gonna take his talents.
We're not gonna win one, nottwo, not three, not four, not
(45:23):
five.
That shit didn't last very long.
SPEAKER_02 (45:25):
How many chips have
they won since LeBron's been
gone?
Answer that question.
SPEAKER_01 (45:29):
Uh none.
And we're talking about theheat.
Yes.
SPEAKER_02 (45:32):
Exactly.
Done deal.
We're done.
But did they did they go to theplayoffs?
They've been irrelevant sinceLeBron left.
SPEAKER_01 (45:38):
Okay.
SPEAKER_02 (45:39):
They have not won a
chip since he left.
SPEAKER_04 (45:41):
But that that move
right there solidify his weight
he carries on a team to be aghost on a team.
SPEAKER_02 (45:47):
Yes.
They've not won a they've notsniffed a chip since LeBron
left.
LeBron has gone to anotherorganization and won a chip.
SPEAKER_01 (45:54):
So what team is that
besides the Lakers?
SPEAKER_02 (45:56):
The Lakers.
He left the Heat and won a chip.
What are we talking about?
SPEAKER_01 (46:00):
Oh my God.
SPEAKER_02 (46:02):
Okay.
The Heat have not sniffed a chipsince LeBron has left.
SPEAKER_01 (46:07):
That's correct.
SPEAKER_02 (46:10):
And I'm not going to
disagree.
They chose Spolstra.
I mean, I'm not saying it's abad move.
SPEAKER_04 (46:15):
But I guess what we
are debating about is how much
influence does a player have, especially if they're a GOAT on
a team.
SPEAKER_02 (46:20):
They have a lot.
Jordan has we can't deny Jordanhas influence as well.
SPEAKER_04 (46:24):
Alright.
So with that influence, do youfeel like LeBron had influence
enough to get coaches andplayers shifted around?
SPEAKER_02 (46:32):
Uh same as any
player does.
SPEAKER_04 (46:35):
So you feel LeBron
has the same amount of power as
any player does on his team?
SPEAKER_02 (46:39):
Any star player
does.
SPEAKER_04 (46:41):
So any star player,
LeBron has the same, or any star
player can get a coach or otherplayers uh shifted in the
organization?
SPEAKER_02 (46:49):
Yes.
SPEAKER_04 (46:50):
Okay.
Alright.
You stand on that, uh Dean?
What was it?
What was it?
Uh so he we you were debatingabout uh the impact of LeBron
playing on a team and eithershifting coaches or players
around or requesting otherplayers.
Uh Raymond sounds like you agreethat he does, but it's something
that all star players can do ontheir team.
SPEAKER_02 (47:09):
Yes.
Jordan, Steph Curry, LeBron,everybody.
SPEAKER_04 (47:13):
Any rebuttal to
that?
SPEAKER_01 (47:16):
Uh I'm not even
paying attention to I I've never
heard so much.
Okay.
SPEAKER_02 (47:24):
So you're saying no
star player has influence?
SPEAKER_01 (47:27):
Uh yeah, some star
play has influence, but how many
star players have how many?
Let's be realistic.
How many coaches slash generalmanagers have agreed?
Because Giannis wanted a tradeand he did not get a trade.
SPEAKER_02 (47:40):
What do we Giannis's
garbage brother plays on the
freaking team and they just tookhis other brother?
What do you think that?
You think it's because they'regood?
No, it's because it's Giannis.
Both of his brothers are on likea freaking they're in the NBA.
SPEAKER_01 (47:54):
What are you talking
about?
Why are you talking about thebrothers?
Okay, I'm just a phenomenalfucking Star Player.
SPEAKER_02 (47:59):
They talk about
players being able to play.
Star player can do anything.
What are we talking about?
SPEAKER_01 (48:05):
Um, Star players can
do anything.
Because Damien Lincoln couldhave won the couple.
SPEAKER_02 (48:09):
You're the player,
you're you're you're you're a
Knicks fan, right?
Yes.
You're point guard.
His uncle is on the freakingcoaching team.
SPEAKER_01 (48:16):
Who's his uncle?
SPEAKER_02 (48:17):
His uncle is on the
coaching team.
Why?
SPEAKER_01 (48:19):
His uncle.
SPEAKER_02 (48:20):
His uncle.
SPEAKER_01 (48:20):
What player is this?
SPEAKER_02 (48:21):
You're your point
guard.
What's your point guard's name?
SPEAKER_01 (48:24):
Uh Jalen?
SPEAKER_02 (48:26):
Yes.
Look it up.
His uncle is on the coach.
Oh.
Oh, even better.
Why is his dad on the team then?
SPEAKER_01 (48:33):
Oh, he's been in the
organization for a long period
of time.
SPEAKER_02 (48:36):
You don't think he
deserved it?
There you go.
There's nothing else to talkabout.
SPEAKER_01 (48:40):
There's nothing else
to talk about.
I don't understand.
But he was there before he wasuh Jalen was in the Mavericks
and he was in the Knicks.
SPEAKER_04 (48:46):
Okay.
Oh, so his dad was at theorganization before he was a
long time ago.
SPEAKER_02 (48:50):
His godfather is
also on the team, too.
SPEAKER_04 (48:52):
Alright.
But I I guess the the rebuttalthat you have, Raymond, is that
it's not our players are able toplay.
SPEAKER_02 (48:58):
Singling out LeBron
as in, you know, he's the only
one that does this.
They all do it.
If you does it, we're notsupposed to say anything.
No, but you guys are acting likehe's the only one that does
this.
You call him Le GM and nobodyelse gets this moniker but
LeBron.
Like, this guy, his favoriteteam has his godfather on there
and his dad's on the coachingstaff.
So, like, it's like, come on.
(49:18):
Yes, LeBron's.
I mean, yeah, I mean, I'm notgonna lie, his son's on the team
too.
When you are a star player, hewas like, what happens?
SPEAKER_04 (49:26):
I mean, I mean, this
is hard.
Uh, the the the rebuttal is kindof hard when when LeBron has
that situation.
SPEAKER_02 (49:33):
Uh they all do it.
Stop saying LeBron.
They all do it.
SPEAKER_04 (49:38):
Okay, they all do
it, but there's one that's very
noteworthy than all of them.
Oh right or wrong.
SPEAKER_01 (49:42):
So this is the same
guy that we're saying that um
I'm not if you don't draft myson, I'm not gonna play the same
guy.
Okay, that's we're still thesame guy.
We're still gonna play thefender, right?
SPEAKER_02 (49:52):
That is that was
crap.
I'm not even gonna lie.
SPEAKER_01 (49:54):
And that's and
that's not making the point of
you that they're not listeningto LeBron.
SPEAKER_02 (49:59):
Okay, they didn't
have to draft his son.
SPEAKER_04 (50:02):
Yeah, they did.
SPEAKER_02 (50:03):
No, they didn't.
Yes, they didn't.
They didn't put a gun to theirhead and say he could have just
literally put a gun to theirhead.
SPEAKER_04 (50:09):
I mean, if if I I I
don't I I I I and I'm trying to
stay by uh unbiased here.
SPEAKER_02 (50:14):
Is like um It'd be
like me coming to you saying,
I'm not gonna do this unless youhire my son to like do the
camera work or something likethat.
SPEAKER_04 (50:22):
That's what it feels
like from the outside.
That's crazy.
That's what it feels like fromthe outside.
And uh he's not a cameraman, hehe he does something else, but
we still made him come in thegame.
All right, so we have that onthe table.
Can you think of any time thatMichael Jordan um used his
privilege as captain of the teamuh to engage with politics the
(50:42):
way that LeBron has?
SPEAKER_01 (50:44):
Um no, I don't think
I have think of anything like
that.
I know from what I've been uhvisualizing in my past years, I
know Jordan is a very hardworker.
I know that some peopleshouldn't have been getting uh
special treatment uh becausethey don't put the work.
Um when you guys watch, I don'tknow if you guys watched The
Last Dance, uh Dennis Raman hassome issues and he didn't, you
(51:06):
know, had uh full effect withthat situation going on there.
But Dennis Roman still went outand did his thing and came back
and still won a chip.
But again, that's letting youknow that Jordan didn't agree
with the situation and PhilJackson just let them did he get
fined?
He did.
But at the end of the day, youknow, what special treatment is
uh is Jordan getting?
(51:28):
Or was getting at that time.
Was getting.
SPEAKER_04 (51:31):
Yeah.
Yeah, I think that that debate.
Um, unfortunately, now that theleague the way that it is, um, I
would assume that um MJ wouldhave had even more influence
compared to uh how um LeBrondoes.
Um I think he could have used itas a bargaining chip.
I personally don't think that Iwould see MJ uh wave his son in
front of the Chicago Bulls andsay, hey, if y'all don't draft
(51:53):
him, I'm gonna be out.
I I doubt that.
Um I also think that LeBrondefinitely standed in his
ability to make influences onplayers and coaching and stuff
like that.
Um I guess that's the differentleagues that they're in.
Um in terms of where I see aGOAT status is um, in my
opinion, I think it's an overuseof power.
(52:13):
Um so I do think LeBron losessome points for that.
Um and MJ has always stood onit, and even when you watched
that documentary, there weresome people that you thought he
was buddies with, but they werejust there for business and his
work ethics were different.
So I don't know if I could uhrate them the same or rate one
uh rate ML LeBron above MJ inthat situation.
(52:34):
Alright, so you made yourargument um definitely in terms
of you what you saw in terms ofwhen he did this, this gave him
the GOAT status.
That was that uh game uh with uhfinals with Warriors, and they
came back and won that.
Um and I ain't gonna affront.
That was a I was in SanFrancisco at the time.
That was definitelyheartbreaking for those that
were out there shooting for theWarriors.
I'm I'm a stay-at-home localguy, so I'm always rooting for
(52:56):
the heat.
But uh when I saw what happenedover there, they definitely were
shocked.
All right.
Um, so I give you some pointsfor that for sure.
Um, I don't know if LeBron wasthe changing factor for all of
it, um, but I definitely do feellike his leadership uh was
definitely noticeable um duringthat time.
There were some other attributeslike the Warriors team that got
(53:18):
uh shuffled up a little bit.
Um but yeah, that's definitelynoteworthy.
He he he gets he gets somepoints for it.
I personally don't think that itwas LeBron scoring 44 45 points
in the finals and winning it inthe last shot.
That would give me a GOATstatus, but that's just my
professional, that's my opinion.
All right, D, this is your lastquestion up.
Um, is what moment in Jordan'scareer um for you gave Jordan
(53:42):
the GOAT status to you?
Um, and then Raymond will have arebuttal if there is one.
SPEAKER_01 (53:47):
Um for me, I think
it was the last shot.
I got the guy was basically uhsick, couldn't even stand,
dehydrated, the guy didn't evenfreaking um you know couldn't
even breathe, playing playingsick with the flu.
Still still go there, give triedto give 110%.
(54:10):
I don't even think he gave 110%.
I think he gave mostly like 80%on being generous, uh, but still
make the last shot, still winthe chip in game six, and you
know that's that's all history,man.
SPEAKER_04 (54:25):
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (54:25):
It's all history.
SPEAKER_04 (54:26):
So that that uh that
last shot uh for sure, and and
as a player, I'm not a player,but uh uh um a commenter as a
person that's watching the game.
I didn't know he was goingthrough that.
Um and um it's definitely anoteworthy moment.
Um, Raymond, you have uh anopportunity for rebuttal.
So he says the last shot beinguh uh the end of the game,
(54:47):
making a shot, closing the gameout, um solidify his status as
GOAT.
What do you have to rebuttal?
SPEAKER_02 (54:51):
Uh yeah, I mean
that's like the most iconic
shot, and that's like the mostone of the most iconic moments
when you think of Jordan.
Um there is no rebuttal forthat.
The only rebuttal kind of jokeyjokey question I have with that
last shot is it's always italways comes up like you know,
did Jordan push off with thatlast shot?
So that always comes up, andthis is just all jokes here.
SPEAKER_01 (55:13):
So I mean it was a
physical, it is a physical game
from what you guys have now.
SPEAKER_02 (55:18):
If that was today.
If that was today, if it wastoday, would they have called a
foul?
SPEAKER_04 (55:24):
I think they would
have called I think they would
have called an offensive foul onthat one.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think so too.
SPEAKER_01 (55:27):
Totally two
different errors.
SPEAKER_04 (55:29):
Yeah, but but but
it's not only that push-off, he
still had to make the shotthough.
I agree.
And the moment that it was in.
Yes, I feel like as a ref, um,I'm letting the thing play out
because I can see a memorablemoment developing.
Um, out of the two moments thatyou mentioned, um, and this is
just your professional opinion, which of those two moments would
(55:49):
you say solidified uh theirindividual um goat status?
SPEAKER_02 (55:52):
Yes, the shot.
I mean, you know, you just haveto remember, uh, yeah, it's
there's no comparison.
It's the shot.
Yeah.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_04 (55:59):
And how about you?
How did you feel about uh uhLeBron coming back in that game
um with the Warriors uhsolidifying his GOAT status?
SPEAKER_01 (56:06):
He had help.
Uh his numbers weren't the same.
His career points were uh mostlyvery low from his aka 27 points
that he uh you knowacknowledging that he has.
But I I I don't think uh he's agoat for me.
Uh at the end of the day, he's agreat, like like he says,
(56:28):
all-around player.
He does play all fiveprecisions, which is good.
Uh again, height-wise, uhcompared to Jordan taking over
of that.
Um but as far as physicality, asfar as being fierce, as far as
people calling him black Jesus,as far as people saying that,
(56:48):
you know, he's one of thetoughest competitors, uh, talks
shit, backs it up, uh, doesn'tmiss a game, uh, doesn't uh take
shit from anybody.
Uh six trips, uh freaking youknow, the bro, there's nobody in
this era right now that iscompared to the guy right now,
(57:09):
and your guy is chasingsomething that he cannot get,
and he's 22 years in the leagueor whatever fucking years he's
been in there, he's still tryingto get it.
And at the end of the day, isthat I just wish Steph Curry can
win one more trip so I can puthim over LeBron James, uh, and
he did it on LeBron James era.
(57:31):
You know?
But before anything, uh I wantto give LeBron, I mean, I'm
sorry, Raymond a little bitmore.
In the 2003, 2004, uh LeBrondidn't make the playoffs.
2004, 2005, again, LeBron didn'tmake the playoffs.
2005-2006 got knocked out in thesecond round.
2006, 2007, Cavaliers uh lost inthe finals.
(57:53):
2007, 2008, didn't make it outthe second round.
2008, 2009, and Cavaliers madethe conference finals and lost.
2009-2010 again didn't make itout the second rounds.
Guess what?
I'm taking my talents to SouthBeach 2010, 2011, lost against
(58:13):
the Mavericks.
2011, 2012, guess what?
He won against the Thunder.
2012, 2013, guess what?
They won.
Ain't that some shit?
2013, 2014 Heat.
They lost against the Spurs.
2014, 2015, lost against theWarriors, 2015, 2016, won
(58:38):
against the Warriors, 2016,2017, lost against the Warriors.
Oh, look at that, 2017, 2018.
They got swept by the Warriors.
Shit, seems like the Warriorsgot their number.
Anyway, um, Lakers, 2019, 2020,the bubble.
(58:58):
That's not a fucking, that'sjust a flag.
I'm nobody counting that, butfor you know what?
Let's give it to you guys.
Is that one of the chips?
Is the bubble?
It's a chip.
That's a champ, that's the onlyreason he's got four.
Okay.
I didn't know that one.
If not, he would have had three.
SPEAKER_04 (59:11):
I didn't know that
one, Raymond.
SPEAKER_01 (59:13):
All right.
Uh 2020, 2011 didn't even makeit.
All right.
Uh 2020, 2021 didn't evenqualify for the playoff
position.
2022, 2023.
Lakers lost in the conference, third round.
23-24.
Got swept by the Nuggets.
(59:34):
All right.
24-25.
Lost against the Timberwolves.
25-26.
Uh, you know, they're stilltrying to figure that shit out.
SPEAKER_04 (59:42):
Yeah, yeah.
Where we at right now.
SPEAKER_01 (59:45):
Yeah, this is the
one we at right now.
SPEAKER_02 (59:47):
Yeah.
So, I mean, are you sayingJordan made the playoffs every
year?
He was in the NBA?
SPEAKER_01 (59:51):
Uh, still now from
84 to 80 to 90, uh, he did not
make it, but he did play thephenomenal all.
Star team, which gave Larry Bird64 points, and he had five
All-Stars in there.
Alright?
Let's get down here.
Drafted uh Mr.
Scottie Pippen on that year withwhich was uh 89.
(01:00:12):
Uh drafted Scottie Pippen.
Scottie Pippen, alright?
So you say he needed help, right?
89, 90, 91.
Took him two years to fuckingwin a chip.
That's called playing around.
SPEAKER_02 (01:00:23):
Who did the Cavs
have when LeBron didn't make the
playoffs?
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:26):
Who did the Cavs
have?
SPEAKER_02 (01:00:27):
Yes, who did they
have besides LeBron James?
He was the number one pick.
Who did they have on that team?
He was carrying bums.
Was he starting?
Yes.
What year was this?
He didn't have nobody.
That's why he left.
That's why he left the workingheat.
They were not getting him noplayers.
That's a lie.
Okay.
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:45):
That's why he didn't
play.
What year?
SPEAKER_02 (01:00:46):
In 2023?
Draggling Yuga Donis or whateverthe hell his name is.
SPEAKER_04 (01:00:50):
No, we're talking
about when he first came out.
SPEAKER_02 (01:00:52):
It was Scrubs.
Come on, Darwin.
You know basketball.
There was no one on that team.
That's why he left.
SPEAKER_04 (01:00:58):
I mean, yes, that
would cause somebody to leave is
go look for anotherorganization.
But one thing that I that onething that I I I've always felt
is like wherever you getdrafted, you should stay.
But that's a different subject.
Wherever you get drafted at,that's where you should stay.
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:12):
Okay.
Yeah.
2004, 2003.
That was, yeah, you justcounting one year?
Oh, yeah.
He played seven years.
Okay.
Come on, man.
There was bums on that team.
Okay, let's be over here.
Let's go to let's go to 2005.
Okay.
Uh oh shit.
Not 22.
SPEAKER_02 (01:01:29):
He was like on how
many teams before he came to the
Cavs.
He was with the Bulls.
He was on.
Come on.
unknown (01:01:36):
Okay.
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:36):
Let's get over here.
I'm sorry, ladies and gentlemen.
I didn't have that uh thisresearch here, but he's, you
know.
I'm just saying.
That's why he left.
SPEAKER_04 (01:01:47):
That's why LeBron
left.
SPEAKER_02 (01:01:48):
Yes, that's why he
went to the Heat.
SPEAKER_04 (01:01:50):
Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:53):
Larry Hughes.
Uh, who else?
Drew Goodman.
Oh my god.
Sasha Zpakovich.
Okay.
Come on.
I mean, what how more do you doyou need, bro?
You have some good plays up inhere.
All right, all right, all right.
Come on.
Yeah, they're all stars.
SPEAKER_02 (01:02:11):
That's funny.
That's funny.
That's come on.
SPEAKER_04 (01:02:13):
All right, fellas.
We're getting to the end ofthis, alright?
So uh this is gonna be our lastcomment.
And based on round number three,I want you all to go into the
comments below.
We've been dropping stats.
Remember, the third round wastalking about what is it that
was the finding moment for yourplayer to become to crown the
GOAT.
Um Raymond had uh the Warriorsuh uh going all the way and
(01:02:35):
bring coming back from aWarriors to uh it looked like it
was gonna be a defeat in theplayoffs, um, and then coming
back and then win it.
And then D.
Hustle had MJ uh making that uhfinal shot.
Um and who did he shove?
He shoved um it was BrianRussell.
Brian okay.
Um and obviously the shove thinkthat it could potentially have
been a offensive foul duringthis era, but he still had to
(01:02:56):
make the shot and it was awinning shot, and all that was
while he had the flu, which isvery noteworthy.
But, anyways, put your commentsbelow, let me know who won, and
definitely uh if there are anyother stats that you want to
throw out there, put them in thecomments below.
What do you gotta say, D?
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:10):
Uh, I'm just a
little curious because right now
the Lakers are doing aphenomenal job without LeBron
being in the team.
All right, let's let's let's belet's let's be realistic here.
Um I know he doesn't want to bea bench player, but
unfortunately, if the team if hecomes back and he does not
start, of course he's gonna crylike always and wants to get
what he wants to do and he'sgonna want to be traded.
(01:03:32):
Uh hopefully he gets traded, uh,because the Lakers don't need
that type of garbage in the intheir organization.
Uh maybe he goes to the Cavsbecause he probably wants to go
to a good team, but I digress.
Um at the end of the day, if hecomes back with his aka sciatica
that he has, um can we confirmthat his injuries are fake?
SPEAKER_04 (01:03:58):
Wow, that's a tough
that's a tough one there.
SPEAKER_02 (01:04:01):
Yeah, that's a
pretty harsh comment.
I mean, that's a harshaccusation there.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:05):
I mean, I remember
so perfect example.
Let me give you a scenario.
You remember back uh last yearwhen he got bumped with somebody
and they say he's tore his uhknee or or whatever the case may
be, and then the next day he wasat a party dancing.
Uh so is is it fake or is it notfake?
I mean, I I'm confused here.
(01:04:26):
Please enlighten.
SPEAKER_02 (01:04:26):
Well, how how does
the fan actually feel about it?
I think they are just takingtheir time.
He's 41 years old, so they'rejust not rushing him.
So that's I don't think it'sfake.
Come on now.
I mean, yeah.
They're just taking their time.
SPEAKER_04 (01:04:40):
So so they're
keeping the horse in the stable
to get ready for the big moment.
SPEAKER_02 (01:04:45):
You know, Luca is
kind of handling the ship right
now, so yeah, it's not fake.
So yeah.
That's that's all I have to say.
All right, all right, all right.
Yeah, Lakers are 8-3 right now.
Luca's.
Hustle's still wondering.
So pondering.
All right.
No, he's cut he's not gonna getoff the bench.
They still need they can't win achip right now without LeBron.
(01:05:07):
You think they they can't evenno, they need LeBron.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:10):
Come on.
I mean, they're goingphenomenal, right?
I see.
I would be amazed if they LeBrondoes not play this year and they
go to the chip.
That says a lot about LeBron.
SPEAKER_04 (01:05:22):
I mean, that that
that talks about the same thing
when he left Miami, how Miamihasn't been able to recuperate.
Um, it would be interesting tosee.
Um, but definitely somethingwe'll keep an eye on.
And if you want to follow along, follow our show, the Tech Hustle
Podcast.
We have a special segment in ourpodcast that does a shorter
segment of this called sportsupdates, and D Hustle holds it
(01:05:44):
down.
Um, and we'll definitely betracking it.
So um I want to say I really, really enjoy the conversation.
Give both of you a round ofapplause.
Uh, big, big round of applause.
Yes, for both of you.
Yeah, yeah.
Come on.
I'll tell you one thing that Inoticed in this debate, and this
is just a little bit of feedbackhere.
Um, LeBron fans are also fans ofJordan.
SPEAKER_02 (01:06:09):
Of course.
We don't hate Jordan.
SPEAKER_04 (01:06:11):
I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_02 (01:06:12):
LeBron's fans.
It's opposite.
It's Jordan fans that hateLeBron.
SPEAKER_04 (01:06:16):
Let me just
rephrase.
I don't know why.
LeBron fans are still fans ofJordan's.
Of course.
Jordan fans are not fans ofLeBron.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:23):
That's right.
SPEAKER_04 (01:06:24):
Um, and that right
there tells a lot to me in terms
of what it means to be a GOAT.
And maybe even something we needto consider in our community is
you goat during a certain error,um, and then you're not
considered the goat of alltimes.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:38):
I'm gonna give you
my reason why.
SPEAKER_04 (01:06:40):
So that that's my
opinion from what I see.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:43):
LeBron is a
phenomenal player, he has done a
lot as far as being anall-around player.
Um, he went from a 19-year-oldkid uh playing ball from high
school, going back to lead.
Not the last person who had donethat, if I'm not mistaken, was
Kobe.
Um again, the reason I don'tlike LeBron as much is because
number one, he says he wants tobe like MJ.
(01:07:05):
He says he's look up, he looksup to MJ.
He says he wants his number 23,then he changes because he wants
to have the respect for 23, thenhe changes to his number six.
Then he goes back, uh, you knowwhat?
I want to be like MJ so bad.
Let me go back to number 23.
Then he wants to do things likeMJ does, but then when the ball
(01:07:27):
is not the right time, the rightshot, instead of taking the
shot, he passes it.
At the end of the day, you can'tcompare yourself and want to be
somebody and be feared likesomebody, but when the time
comes to become the player, youback down.
Don't say you want to become afierce player, take the shit,
(01:07:48):
take a phenomenal, be aphenomenal player, do all that,
and when the time is all that, you fucking don't take
accountability, you point theother direction.
Don't do that.
At the end of the day, if I wantto be somebody, I have to
emulate you.
You know when you work ineverybody here's an IT field.
When you start, who do you wantto emulate?
(01:08:12):
Computer, credentials.
You say Bobby D or Raymond.
That means you have to be thesame status, the same qualified,
or whatever.
If not, you're a dun.
Don't say that you are.
I'd rather you say, you knowwhat, I try my best.
I couldn't live up to hispotential.
(01:08:32):
And let me step back and let medo my own destiny.
But no, you want to continue.
You want to say I am, I'm stillhere, I still am.
And you're still changing stats.
But instead of saying it's justit's just basketball, what?
No, it's totally a two differentmentality.
(01:08:53):
I'm not there to destroy you.
I don't want wow, I'm not hereto be in your team.
I don't want to play with StephCurry.
I want to go against StephCurry, I want to dominate him, I
want to put him in his misery.
I want to say, I want his kidsto say, I'm the best basketball
player.
I'm not gonna be saying I'm thegoat.
That's another thing.
(01:09:14):
I don't say I'm a goat.
None of the best players hasever said that they're the goat.
The only one who ever done thatwas LeBron.
And that's why you're getting alot of heat on your ass.
But you don't, again, you don'ttake accountability.
You point the fingers.
If you have a rebuttal for that,I'll shut up forever.
SPEAKER_02 (01:09:37):
Actually, he needs a
rebuttal.
You need you need the.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:44):
And the only one who
has succeeded was Kobe.
SPEAKER_02 (01:09:47):
I mean, did he
succeed?
You don't think he had theMelmba mentality.
I'll give you that.
He has five chips.
Okay, so you're saying hesucceeded because he has one
more extra chip than LeBron.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:58):
I mean And he has
done back to back to back.
SPEAKER_02 (01:10:01):
Okay, all right.
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:02):
I mean, and and I
you know what one thing that I
go ahead, go ahead.
SPEAKER_04 (01:10:06):
Go ahead.
I'll make my last comment in alittle bit.
SPEAKER_02 (01:10:08):
He is a more juvial
guy.
Jordan.
Juvial, as in like, you know, Iwant everyone involved.
Jordan is just very centered.
He's just not going to.
That's the difference.
Like, LeBron is gonna giveanother person to take that
shot.
Jordan is not.
He's just that's just you'retalking about two different
people, two differentpersonalities.
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:28):
The Cavs game, when
you took the shot, at the end of
the day, he missed it, and hedecided to say that his
teammates were not performing ata high level.
Again, you're not takingaccountability.
You point it as LeBron fans, you're the chosen one.
You can't fuck up.
(01:10:49):
Right?
It's bad for your reputation,it's bad for your look.
If you ask Jordan who's gonnatake the final shot, he says, I
am.
Every time he says that.
unknown (01:11:01):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:01):
It's all over the
place.
Look it up.
I mean, you need the laptop, youshouldn't use the laptop today.
SPEAKER_02 (01:11:06):
I know.
I'm just Jordan is uh very, yeah, yeah.
It's two differentpersonalities.
That's what I'm gonna say.
SPEAKER_04 (01:11:11):
All right, so let me
drop my last comment here before
we jump off.
Uh, first of all, I want to saythank you both.
Give both yourselves a round ofapplause.
Yes, dear.
A round of applause for pullingup, uh, chatting up about
sports, uh, chatting about uhyour favorite players, uh, and
definitely uh I have an opinionabout the GOAT status, and I'm
I'm gonna drop it on you.
So just to kind of give y'allperspective, what I see in this
(01:11:35):
game is that it there are twodifferent eras of ballers.
Definitely.
Um one that came from an erawhere they used to carry razor
brays and knives, and now wehave an era where they carry
pepper sprays and um uh what dothey call the tasers, right?
Um I think that the way thatMichael Jordan is, his
personality, he would dominatethis era of basketball.
(01:11:57):
Definitely undoubtedly withoutshooting threes.
Without and and if shootingthrees was your thing, he would
actually get even better atSteph shooting threes because
then he would be competing withSteph if you think about it,
right?
He wanted to compete.
He didn't want to have teammembers that no, he wanted to be
the only one.
LeBron, a great, amazing player,amazing journey, 19-year-old,
(01:12:19):
still in the league right now, undeniable, undeniable his
contributions.
Is it a status of GOAT?
The reason why I say is thatLeBron is still a fan of Jordan,
and I don't think Jordan is likea fan of LeBron comparing
himself to it.
If I ever seen Jordan come outand be like, hey, the next one
up was LeBron and yeah, he'sholding it down.
(01:12:40):
I seen Jordan point at Kobe andsay that, and we've seen Kobe.
But I haven't seen him point atLeBron in that sense.
And for me, if I'm already aGOAT, I'm recognizing the next
one to come out.
And in my opinion, Jordan hasn'trecognized it yet.
So he sees something, he seessomething that we don't see, and
basically not the things thatfans see because it is a fan
(01:13:01):
type sport.
Until I see that, my opinion is,and this is just my opinion,
y'all can write anything there,Jordan is definitely GOAT over
everybody.
Um, when you hear the stories ofplayers playing against him and
how much he intimidates them, sleepless nights, it wasn't
like, hey, I wanted to go take apicture with him.
They were like, yo, we're readyto go fight with him because
(01:13:21):
he's gonna be fighting them too, right?
Um, and the other thing aboutGOAT status is the last shot
tells me who's the GOAT.
When the game is on the line, the clock is ticking, there's
not not one time that Jordan didnot say pass me the ball,
regardless of the outcome, because there's a lot of shots
that he missed.
Regardless of the outcome.
On the other hand, we have ateam player that rather passed
(01:13:45):
the ball rather than standing inthe goat light.
If you look at Kobe, Kobe wasthat definitely took that shot
and was pursuing that, in myopinion.
I didn't even like Kobe likethat.
It's just RIP Kobe, because II've drugged his name in the mud
plenty of time, but I got somuch more respect for him, and
it sucks that after he's passingthat I'm mentioning it, but
truly, that's for me thedifference between the two.
(01:14:07):
So I I really don't care howmuch more LeBron has on the
books.
Um, I think in terms of where hewas able to make his mark, his
time is passed, but he'sdefinitely gonna have a nice
following afterwards.
So big ups to him, congratulations, no shade at
all.
It's just when you're comparingto Jordan, um, we lived through
that era and we saw it, and itwas definitely different than
what we see right now.
(01:14:28):
So uh I just wanted toencourage, especially those 80
babies, to put some respect onit and let younger audience
members and people that followalong understand what the
difference is, even though westill got some of y'all that's
still but you you still onJordan too, so it's not like you
fax.
He's been converted.
He enjoys the game now.
It's alive, somebody that's inthe in the hustle, that's
(01:14:49):
somebody that's actually doingit.
Um, but uh man, give a big roundof applause for episode number
74.

You shout out LeBron, so I giveyou some uh you you brought up
his stats.
I don't know if it's calledshout outs.
Yeah, I brought up his stats.
SPEAKER_01 (01:15:26):
And I gave him his
points when he needed his
points, but uh again, nocomparison for me.
SPEAKER_04 (01:15:31):
And then Raymond, as
always, I appreciate you coming
in, gear.
SPEAKER_01 (01:15:34):
And if Anthony
Airworks continues the way he
is, K.
That's a different story, bro.
Let's talk about facts rightnow.
But I mean some people might becalling him the next Jordan, but
pause it.
