As kids growing up a lot of us dreamed of being a professional athlete. We would play from the morning hours when the sun would come up until we had to go home at night for dinner. We played the game because we loved it. We didn’t really think about the massive salary or the logistics of being a pro athlete. So the question is when did professional athletes start getting paid large salaries?
